JOB DESCRIPTION – SR. DIGITAL MEDIA PLANNER/BUYER
The  Senior  Digital  Media  Planner/Buyer  position  will  develop  strategically  appropriate  
media  approaches  that  will  drive  our  clients’  objectives,  by  continuously  tracking  and  
optimizing  these  tactics.  In  addition  to  media  planning  and  buying,  a  successful  candidate  
will  work  with  internal  teams  to  contribute  to  Baldwin&’s  knowledge  base  by  creating  and  
sharing  case  studies,  POVs  and  seminar/conference  summaries,  as  well  as  maintain  
communication  with  the  internal  and  external  teams.  
  
  
Responsibilities  &  Preferred  Skills  
•   Researching,  developing  and  presenting  paid  digital  media  plans  and  
optimization  recommendations  
•   Maintaining  relationships  and  negotiating  contracts  with  external  media  account  
representatives  
•   Managing  the  paid  digital  and  social  media  budget,  including  processing  insertion  
orders,  approving  invoices,  and  reconciling  funds  at  the  end  of  campaigns  
•   Trafficking  and  QAing  ad  tags  and  creative  using  3rd  party  ad  serving  tools  
•   Providing  digital  activity  and  campaign  performance  insight  reports,  and  
presenting  these  reports  to  the  client  when  necessary  
•   Coordinating  creative  assets  and  approvals  with  external  partners,  project  
management  and  account  team  
•   Collaborating  with  internal  and  external  teams  on  reporting  and  campaign  
tracking  (pixel  implementation)  
•   Working  with  clients  and  their  social  agencies  to  sponsor  social  posts  
•   Assisting  in  capabilities  presentations  and  research  for  new  business  
opportunities  
•   Understanding  and  constantly  evaluating  current  and  emerging  trends  and  their  
impact  on  business  strategies  
Qualifications  
•   Demonstrated  track  record  of  digital  media  campaign  performance    
•   Bachelor's  Degree  and  equivalent  work  experience  
•   2-­5  years  of  digital  media  experience,  preferably  in  a  Media  Planning/Buying  role  
•   Additional  experience  with  offline  media  and/or  sports  marketing  is  a  plus,  but  not  
required  
•   Must  have  prior  experience  using  the  following  tools/platforms:  
•   Google  Analytics  
•   DoubleClick  Campaign  Manager  (formerly  DFA)  
•   Social  Ad  Platforms  (Facebook,  Twitter,  LinkedIn)  
•   comScore  
•   Experience  with  the  following  tools/platforms  is  a  plus,  but  not  required:  
•   SEM  Platforms  (Google  AdWords,  Bing,  Yahoo)  
•   Competitive  Tracking  (Kantar  Media,  Competitrack)  
•   Market  Research  (MRI,  Simmons)  
•   Google  Tag  Manager  
About  Baldwin&  
Baldwin&  is  a  hybrid  branding/digital/advertising/mobile/social  media  thingy  in  Raleigh,  
NC.  It  was  founded  by  David  Baldwin,  Bob  Ranew  and  Erin  Bredemann  in  January,  2009.  
In  a  few  short  years,  Baldwin&  has  won  AdAge’s  Small  Agency  Campaign  of  the  Year  
(2011),  AdAge’s  Small  Agency  of  the  Year  (2012)  and  the  AAAA’s  O’Toole  award  (2014)  
for  best  body  of  work  from  an  agency  with  less  than  150  employees.  The  agency  works  
with  clients  such  as  Burt’s  Bees,  güd,  Cree  LED  Lighting,  Red  Hat,  PepsiCo,  and  BMW  
Golf.  Baldwin&’s  mission:  Use  creativity  to  make  a  difference  for  clients  we  believe  in.  
  
This  position  reports  into  the  Media  Director  and  is  located  in  Raleigh,  N.C.

  • 1. JOB DESCRIPTION – SR. DIGITAL MEDIA PLANNER/BUYER The  Senior  Digital  Media  Planner/Buyer  position  will  develop  strategically  appropriate   media  approaches  that  will  drive  our  clients’  objectives,  by  continuously  tracking  and   optimizing  these  tactics.  In  addition  to  media  planning  and  buying,  a  successful  candidate   will  work  with  internal  teams  to  contribute  to  Baldwin&’s  knowledge  base  by  creating  and   sharing  case  studies,  POVs  and  seminar/conference  summaries,  as  well  as  maintain   communication  with  the  internal  and  external  teams.       Responsibilities  &  Preferred  Skills   •   Researching,  developing  and  presenting  paid  digital  media  plans  and   optimization  recommendations   •   Maintaining  relationships  and  negotiating  contracts  with  external  media  account   representatives   •   Managing  the  paid  digital  and  social  media  budget,  including  processing  insertion   orders,  approving  invoices,  and  reconciling  funds  at  the  end  of  campaigns   •   Trafficking  and  QAing  ad  tags  and  creative  using  3rd  party  ad  serving  tools   •   Providing  digital  activity  and  campaign  performance  insight  reports,  and   presenting  these  reports  to  the  client  when  necessary   •   Coordinating  creative  assets  and  approvals  with  external  partners,  project   management  and  account  team   •   Collaborating  with  internal  and  external  teams  on  reporting  and  campaign   tracking  (pixel  implementation)   •   Working  with  clients  and  their  social  agencies  to  sponsor  social  posts   •   Assisting  in  capabilities  presentations  and  research  for  new  business   opportunities   •   Understanding  and  constantly  evaluating  current  and  emerging  trends  and  their   impact  on  business  strategies   Qualifications   •   Demonstrated  track  record  of  digital  media  campaign  performance     •   Bachelor's  Degree  and  equivalent  work  experience   •   2-­5  years  of  digital  media  experience,  preferably  in  a  Media  Planning/Buying  role   •   Additional  experience  with  offline  media  and/or  sports  marketing  is  a  plus,  but  not   required   •   Must  have  prior  experience  using  the  following  tools/platforms:   •   Google  Analytics   •   DoubleClick  Campaign  Manager  (formerly  DFA)   •   Social  Ad  Platforms  (Facebook,  Twitter,  LinkedIn)   •   comScore   •   Experience  with  the  following  tools/platforms  is  a  plus,  but  not  required:   •   SEM  Platforms  (Google  AdWords,  Bing,  Yahoo)
