2. The 'Avengers' poster (full poster) subverted the
stereotypical design of a poster, mostly through the
colour as usually the mise-en-scene is bright so
they have their costumes on but in this case the
characters blended into the design and were hard to
locate, the image was in black and white. However,
the poster does conform to some conventions as it
has as the name of the film in the biggest and
boldest font so the target audience are aware
especially those who aren't aware of the franchise
that it's the title, it has the title on smaller fonts to
represent that this is sequel. The casts name are
located at the top of the poster which is a typical
convention especially of full posters. The released
information was placed at the bottom of the poster
and they used the avengers sign within it, this is
unique as a symbol is memorable. It includes credit
and they have the 'marvel' brand.
3. The genre of this movie
includes action, adventure and
sci-fi so I think this movie
would have a wider target
audience from these three
genre as well as people who are
fans of marvel brand films or
TV series and this is why it has
a unique selling point.. the
genre of actions is reflected in
the decay of the symbol of the
"Avengers" sign but also they
contain superheroes so it isn't
evident it will be full of
adventure and has elements of
sci-fi.
4. The lighting subverts that of
action movie posters as it is high
key but contains darker patches
around it due to the smoke effect
this shows that there is danger
but as it is high key there is hope
and that they will overcome it.
5. This poster will most likely be placed in a
newspaper or a magazine because it's on
black and white, it can't be put in areas of
public transport because you need to look
closely to see the detail and people wouldn't
do this.
It doesn’t have a tagline this is because the
poster explains enough if the storyline
