FINAL DECISIONS
FOR A/V
Here you can see I started the video with clips of my model’s face, a panning shot of her makeup with a “old
time tv” filter on. Madonna - Material Girl soundtrack plays non-dietetically. It then cuts to my model before the
shoot walking outside and speaking to the camera in a vlog about the photoshoot and the non diegetic music is
reduced in volume to hear her speak. The film then cuts to fast paced editing of extreme close up shots of the
model wearing the Madonna costume and props along with Joy Crookes- Bad Decisions, a song with a strong
base to contrast and compliment the Material Girl music. The extreme close-ups are paired with the background
of pink silk to connote the Madonna music video and to also include some text and information about the video
as it is a promotional video this is necessary. The film ends with a white background and more information on
the promotion, with the #BOYCOTTFASTFASHION, a tag I wished to repeat across multimedia platforms, the
screen fades to black and the hashtag is still visible to make it more memorable to the audience.
Vlog scene
• Using a vlog from the model posing as Millie Bobbie
Brown was an important decision as it makes the video
more personal and inclusive with the audience. This is an
important factor as the brief suggests my products should
be interactional with the audience
Non diegetic sound choices
• Using the material girl music at the start establishes the
intertextuality immediately and sets the main concept for the
video and for the promotion

• It is also easily recognisable

• Changing the music to Joy Crookes was a decision made to
indicate that the video isn’t just about a Madonna intertextual
reference, otherwise the material girl music alone would
overwhelm the video

• Joy Crookes is a new and upcoming artist popular with this
fun, loving 16-25 demographic
