This document describes a proposed automatic hand sanitizer system that uses mist and UV light for improved efficiency and safety. The system uses an Arduino microcontroller connected to an ultrasonic sensor, mist maker, UV lamp, LCD display, buzzer and timer buttons. When hands are detected by the sensor, the mist maker and UV lamp are activated for the set timer period. A buzzer alerts the user if they remove their hands early. This fog-based system uses 95% less sanitizer and the UV light provides additional disinfection for improved safety over liquid-based systems.
