I like the introduction because it’s well presented” Female, 18 “ The filming of Sam shows the seriousness of the documentary. The voiceover’s a slight put-off” Male, 17 “ The Mise-en-scene is brilliant, variety of pictures and posters constantly reminding the audience of what the documentary is about, which makes the audience interact with the video. But the camera moves too much for some shots.” Female, 39 “ Overall, the video is brief and to-the-point however it is still informative and keeps the viewer interested. Loved it!” Male, 23

4. Evaluation While the audience feedback provided us with a better understanding of our final production, we were faced with some criticism. For instance, the voiceover seemed to annoy some of the audience. However, our use of facts and the entire Sam Nilsom segment was well received. The main comment the audience made was about how seriously we took the subject and how professional the final product looked. So in future, we will keep track of the voiceover and try to get the audience’s opinion of who sounds best before making the final decision. The audience feedback has been crucial for our documentary because we wanted to make something that a majority would enjoy and perhaps even empathise with. The use of a real life victim of gaming addiction gave the documentary the realistic edge, which the audience seemed to have grasped.
