2. I used something called the Monkey survey to make a survey where I
could ask some of my friends what they thought about my trailer and
get some feedback from them. Anyone can ask the questionnaire I
have designed, however, I had to send the link through Facebook and
tell them what it was about. I also sent them a link of my trailer, so
they could watch it and give me good criticism. Half of them were
boys and the other half were girls, they were all teenagers above the
age of 15, that gives all great feedback because they are as young as
our audience, they are a part of it as well. Some of them made us see
what we have not yet spotted. That helps us improve ourselves in the
work we do. Institutions sometimes change their storyline because of
feedback. It decides whether your product is accepted by your target
audience or rejected. Although, in the filming industry you have to
learn how to criticize yourself, and distinguish good criticism from
bad. And also know how to argue against the critic if you truly believe
it’s necessary, if you think the critique is being unfair or unreasonable.
So far, only 5 people have answered it but since I will keep
it going many more people will be able to give me their
feedback with personal opinions. Having an enquiry that
gives free will to the person answering it, is slightly
different from the surveys we’re used to with a multiple
choice/one answer only templates of surveys, which will
give you a set of answers and you can only click one. My
survey gives the audience a free will for them to write
whatever it is they think about the film, and give their
personal ideas about possible modifications to my group-
s product. I also have showed it personally to some
friends and asked them for their opinion, I keep record of
everything I do that is related to my media work. I should
have tried to record them answering me and put it up.
However, I didn’t but it’s fine because I can remember
what they said.
