Audience Profile
• The film is about Wolverine living on the Mexican border
taking care of an old and ill Professor X. When a young
female mutant comes along being pursued by dark forces,
forcing Wolverine and the professor to reach a destination
to save her. The film gives a message that not all superhero
films have to be big budget and that one day the superhero
genre will come to an end(the way Hugh Jackman's role as
Wolverine has come to an end)
• Primary Audience
– Teenagers (15+) Male
– The film has male characters in it that
teenage audiences have looked up to.
• Secondary Audience
– Adults(25+)
– The film is more a drama than a superhero
film. It takes big superhero characters and
puts them in real life situations, stripping
them of their abilities, making them more
human and relatable. (One of the characters
has Alzheimer's)
Audience Profile
• After a construction project begins in their
neighbourhood, best friends Tuck, Alex and
Munch begin receiving strange, encoded
messages on their cell phones. They immediately
inform their parents and the authorities, but when
no one takes them seriously, the youths decide to
crack the code themselves and trace the messages
to their source. The youths' curiosity leads them
to a robotic extra-terrestrial who desperately
needs their help. (Rated PG) “Source from google”
• Primary Audience
– Children (8-14)
– The film has young characters in it. (around 12-13 years
old)
– I think the film appeals to both genders, but mainly boys
because it has more boy characters than girls (3-1).
– The poster has a mix of dark and bright colours that are
really well contrasted together as a beautiful looking
poster, and beautiful looking movies means brilliant
movies to young children.
• Secondary Audience
– Teenagers (15+)
– The film has humour and lots of CGI that young audiences like.
Audience Profile
• A billionaire industrialist and genius
inventor, Tony Stark (Robert Downey
Jr.), is conducting weapons tests
overseas, but terrorists kidnap him to
force him to build a devastating
weapon. Instead, he builds an
armoured suit and upends his captors.
Returning to America, Stark refines the
suit and uses it to combat crime and
terrorism. “Source from Google”.
• Primary Audience
– Teenagers(12+)
– Mainly targeted at boys who are action movie fans and
like the idea of this strong male figure that they would
like to identify with. It also has violence but not a lot of
blood, this will appeal to young teenage viewers.
• Secondary Audience
-- Children(8+)
Lots of action and CGI fight scenes that should appeal to
younger viewers.
Hypodermic Needle
• Definition
– Making the audience believe whatever they see in
the media
• Example
– The war of the worlds broadcast which fooled
Americans into believing the world was being
invaded by aliens in 1938.
Uses and Gratifications Information
• I find information online by typing it into the
google news section.
• For example I might look for a title of a film or
a release date for when the trailer is online or
when the film is in cinemas.
Uses and Gratifications Personal
Identity
• The one TV character I can relate to is Sam
from the Netflix show ‘Atypical’. Both of us
have atypical autism and have divorced
parents. He is constantly trying to get a good
relationship.
Uses and Gratifications Integration and
Social Interaction
• I try to identify with others using my YouTube
channel and I speak to them in the comments.
Uses and Gratifications Entertainment
• For entertainment I watch Netflix, Amazon
and YouTube.
Consumer Generated Content
• Example
– Instagram, YouTube.
• What are the advantages to media producers?
– They can gain popularity and money as they are saving money
by the audience creating the content for them. Because
otherwise the platforms would have nothing on them and the
producers would have no popularity and/or money.
• Why would the audience generate content?
-- We can get money ourselves from the content we produce through
advertising revenue
-- We can make a name for ourselves with the amount of popularity and
views the videos receive.
-- We make the content we want for ourselves

Audience

  • 2. Audience Profile • The film is about Wolverine living on the Mexican border taking care of an old and ill Professor X. When a young female mutant comes along being pursued by dark forces, forcing Wolverine and the professor to reach a destination to save her. The film gives a message that not all superhero films have to be big budget and that one day the superhero genre will come to an end(the way Hugh Jackman's role as Wolverine has come to an end) • Primary Audience – Teenagers (15+) Male – The film has male characters in it that teenage audiences have looked up to. • Secondary Audience – Adults(25+) – The film is more a drama than a superhero film. It takes big superhero characters and puts them in real life situations, stripping them of their abilities, making them more human and relatable. (One of the characters has Alzheimer's)
  • 3. Audience Profile • After a construction project begins in their neighbourhood, best friends Tuck, Alex and Munch begin receiving strange, encoded messages on their cell phones. They immediately inform their parents and the authorities, but when no one takes them seriously, the youths decide to crack the code themselves and trace the messages to their source. The youths' curiosity leads them to a robotic extra-terrestrial who desperately needs their help. (Rated PG) “Source from google” • Primary Audience – Children (8-14) – The film has young characters in it. (around 12-13 years old) – I think the film appeals to both genders, but mainly boys because it has more boy characters than girls (3-1). – The poster has a mix of dark and bright colours that are really well contrasted together as a beautiful looking poster, and beautiful looking movies means brilliant movies to young children. • Secondary Audience – Teenagers (15+) – The film has humour and lots of CGI that young audiences like.
  • 4. Audience Profile • A billionaire industrialist and genius inventor, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), is conducting weapons tests overseas, but terrorists kidnap him to force him to build a devastating weapon. Instead, he builds an armoured suit and upends his captors. Returning to America, Stark refines the suit and uses it to combat crime and terrorism. “Source from Google”. • Primary Audience – Teenagers(12+) – Mainly targeted at boys who are action movie fans and like the idea of this strong male figure that they would like to identify with. It also has violence but not a lot of blood, this will appeal to young teenage viewers. • Secondary Audience -- Children(8+) Lots of action and CGI fight scenes that should appeal to younger viewers.
  • 5. Hypodermic Needle • Definition – Making the audience believe whatever they see in the media • Example – The war of the worlds broadcast which fooled Americans into believing the world was being invaded by aliens in 1938.
  • 6. Uses and Gratifications Information • I find information online by typing it into the google news section. • For example I might look for a title of a film or a release date for when the trailer is online or when the film is in cinemas.
  • 7. Uses and Gratifications Personal Identity • The one TV character I can relate to is Sam from the Netflix show ‘Atypical’. Both of us have atypical autism and have divorced parents. He is constantly trying to get a good relationship.
  • 8. Uses and Gratifications Integration and Social Interaction • I try to identify with others using my YouTube channel and I speak to them in the comments.
  • 9. Uses and Gratifications Entertainment • For entertainment I watch Netflix, Amazon and YouTube.
  • 10. Consumer Generated Content • Example – Instagram, YouTube. • What are the advantages to media producers? – They can gain popularity and money as they are saving money by the audience creating the content for them. Because otherwise the platforms would have nothing on them and the producers would have no popularity and/or money. • Why would the audience generate content? -- We can get money ourselves from the content we produce through advertising revenue -- We can make a name for ourselves with the amount of popularity and views the videos receive. -- We make the content we want for ourselves
