The document analyzes research on audiences for horror films. It finds that males ages 22-54 are the largest audience segment. However, the filmmakers intended audience of ages 15 and above is not as well represented in the data. To better match the research, the document suggests adjusting the intended audience to ages 18 and above to align with where interest is highest.
2. This here shows an outline of the segment of the audiences for horror films. As what the image
showing above, it is showing that there are 54.98% males that watches horror film, while there are
45.02% females who watches horror film. Which means that it’s not as popular for the girls.
Also, as what the graph is showing, there were more 22-54 who were males that actually likes
horror film, making our target audience a way bit off. This is because for our film, the intended
audience we wanted was 15 and above. However, as what the pie chart is showing its more
popular to 22 and above and preferably to males. Therefore, we could have made our intended
audience to 18 so that it would have been more suitable.

3. PEARL AND DEAN’S RESEARCH
INTO FILMS
Resource from-
http://business.pearlanddean.com/films_guide
The film on the right hand side is The Last
Exorcism, I have looked at its Comparable profile and
seen the different age groups that it attracted, the
number of per cent of the two genders and the
percentage of the class. It shows that it attracted ages
15-24 being as 55%. Also, it shows that the gender
that most impacted on this film is the females being
51%. Also, the class being C1, as 40%.
The image on the left hand side shows that I have
analysed an upcoming horror film, the Paranormal
Activity 5, which is coming out on 25th October
2013. Basically, they have made a prediction on who
would the audience be in this upcoming film. It
shows that the predicted percentages are that ages
15-24 (69%) being the highest percentage and the
males (51%) being also and the class C1(32%) .
4. This website is for films to get
different types of audience and it also
gives funding and helps films to get
distributed. This website has funded
different range of projects and
websites to attract a large audience
that includes different types of
interest.
Basically, the UK film council is
helpful for people who needs funding
and people who are new to the
industry of filming. This is
because, this helps attract more
audiences for the film that new film
makers does. Through this website, it
made me realise the different
audiences on what my horror film can
attract because it gave me a clearer
understanding on what type of interest
the audiences like to what I can do for
my trailer.

5. From the three researches I have done, I have found out that most of the
horror films aims to attract it’s main audiences and from what I found out
from the website Pear and Dean, it shows that the film The Last Exorcism
having ages 15-24 as it’s highest audience consumption, it suggests that our
horror film has the same audience target since our film was Rated 15.
Also, since our film was an independent production, and if our film trailer was
actually really good, we could take this to the UK council and get funding and
help up distribute Dying Leaves. However, from all the websites I have
researched, I still need to consider how legitimate my research was, if all the
facts I actually looked at was valid. Probably if I research more websites, there
are more possibility that my research can be more trustworthy and a fact.
