L4-L7 services for SDN and NVF by Youcef Laribibuildacloud
In this talk, we will discuss how L4-L7 devices can integrate in various SDN architectures, discuss benefits and some of the challenges that such integration represents. We will also talk about how SDN and NFV relate, and what are the different challenges to successfully deploy L4-L7 devices as Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) or provide such services to the NFV Infrastructure (VIM).

Kubernetes vs Dockers Swarm supporting ONAP-OOM on multi-cloud multi-stack environment
Description: ONAP was set originally to support multiple container platform and cloud through TOSCA. In R1 ONAP and OOM is dependent completely on Kubernetes. As there are other container platforms such as Docker Swarm that are gaining more wider adoption as a simple alternative to Kubernetes. In addition operator may need the flexibility to choose their own container platform and be open for future platform. We need to weight the alternatives and avoid using package managers as Helm that makes K8s mandatory.
The use of TOSCA in conjunction with Kubernetes provides that "happy medium" where on one hand we can leverage Kubernetes to a full extent while at the same time be open to other alternative. In this workshop, we will compare Kubernetes with Docker Swarm and walk through an example of how ONAP can be set to support both platforms using TOSCA.
Open Source, Open Architecture, Open Standards NFV MANOCloudify Community
MANO, the management and orchestration layer in NFV, is a critical element for the success of NFV deployments.
This talk will focus on three important aspects for effectively implementing MANO in an open source manner, to enable the easy migration and management of networks in any cloud:
- Open source, community-based orchestration such as Open-O and ARIA
- Open architecture using technology agnostic principles
- Open standards for modeling and orchestration (such as TOSCA)
In this talk, I will explain how to use open source tools to migrate networks to the cloud and demo NFV orchestration with TOSCA in a multi-VIM environment.

Source Code Management and Version Control Systems are tools for helping you track your file based assets (typically source code). Traditional SCM systems are centralised (CVS, Subversion, Visual Source Safe), Distributed version control systems systems provide new capabilities, work-flows, are becoming mature and are gaining mind share in the open source community.
Git is one of those Distributed Version Control Systems. It was invented by the creator of Linux (Linus Torvalds) for protecting the Linux kernel source code and coordinating the activity of hundreds of developers. This talk discusses what Distributed Version Control is, the history of Git, basic version control features and some very uncommon and amazing capabilities of git. Time permitting it will include live demonstration of the tools.

Intro to Project Calico: a pure layer 3 approach to scale-out networkingPacket
Slide presentation from the April 16th, 2015 Downtown NY Tech Meetup hosted at Control Group and presented by Christopher Liljenstolpe from Project Calico (www.projectcalico.org)
Project Calico is a scale-out networking fabric for bare metal, container, VM, and hybrid environments. Project Calico leverages the same networking techniques used to scale out the Internet to present a highly scaleable, L3 network for those environments without the use of tunnels, overlays, or other complex constructs. We'll also do a demo of a Calico enabled Docker environment, and have plenty of time for q&a during and after.
About Christopher Liljenstolpe
Christopher is the original architect of Project Calico and one of the project's evangelists. In his day job, he's the director of solutions architecture at Metaswitch Networks. Prior to Calico/Metaswitch, he's designed and run some bio-informatics OpenStack clusters, done some SDN architecture work at Big Switch Networks, Run architecture at two large carriers (Telstra - AS1221, and Cable & Wireless/iMCI - AS3561) and been the IP CTO for Alcatel in Asia. He's also run networks in Antarctica (hint, bend radius becomes REALLY important at -50C), and been foolish enough to do a stint as a wg co-chair in the IETF. Occasionally you can have the (mis-)fortune of hearing him speak at conferences and the like.

Docker and Cloud - Enables for DevOps - by ACA-ITStijn Wijndaele
DevOps is gericht op het tot stand brengen van een cultuur binnen organisaties waardoor het ontwikkelen, valideren en releasen van software sneller, meer betrouwbaar en frequenter kan verlopen. OpenStack in an Ever Expanding World of Possibilities - Vancouver 2015 SummitLew Tucker
Over the past several years we have seen the continued adoption of OpenStack and it’s expansion into new areas: from cloud service providers, enterprise private clouds to large media companies, telecommunication giants, and big science. At the same time, open source based platforms for network functions virtualization (NFV) are fueling a movement toward cloud computing in almost all major telco’s.
In the developer world, open source projects, such as Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes, and Spark are gaining a lot of attention and being integrated into OpenStack through projects Kolla and Magnum.
This session will cover how these projects and activities relate to each other and further expand the utility and adoption OpenStack.

# Internet Security: Safeguarding Your Digital World
In the contemporary digital age, the internet is a cornerstone of our daily lives. It connects us to vast amounts of information, provides platforms for communication, enables commerce, and offers endless entertainment. However, with these conveniences come significant security challenges. Internet security is essential to protect our digital identities, sensitive data, and overall online experience. This comprehensive guide explores the multifaceted world of internet security, providing insights into its importance, common threats, and effective strategies to safeguard your digital world.
## Understanding Internet Security
Internet security encompasses the measures and protocols used to protect information, devices, and networks from unauthorized access, attacks, and damage. It involves a wide range of practices designed to safeguard data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Effective internet security is crucial for individuals, businesses, and governments alike, as cyber threats continue to evolve in complexity and scale.
### Key Components of Internet Security
1. **Confidentiality**: Ensuring that information is accessible only to those authorized to access it.
2. **Integrity**: Protecting information from being altered or tampered with by unauthorized parties.
3. **Availability**: Ensuring that authorized users have reliable access to information and resources when needed.
## Common Internet Security Threats
Cyber threats are numerous and constantly evolving. Understanding these threats is the first step in protecting against them. Some of the most common internet security threats include:
### Malware
Malware, or malicious software, is designed to harm, exploit, or otherwise compromise a device, network, or service. Common types of malware include:
- **Viruses**: Programs that attach themselves to legitimate software and replicate, spreading to other programs and files.
- **Worms**: Standalone malware that replicates itself to spread to other computers.
- **Trojan Horses**: Malicious software disguised as legitimate software.
- **Ransomware**: Malware that encrypts a user's files and demands a ransom for the decryption key.
- **Spyware**: Software that secretly monitors and collects user information.
### Phishing
Phishing is a social engineering attack that aims to steal sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details. Attackers often masquerade as trusted entities in email or other communication channels, tricking victims into providing their information.
### Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) Attacks
MitM attacks occur when an attacker intercepts and potentially alters communication between two parties without their knowledge. This can lead to the unauthorized acquisition of sensitive information.
### Denial-of-Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Attacks

Wireless communication involves the transmission of information over a distance without the help of wires, cables or any other forms of electrical conductors.
Wireless communication is a broad term that incorporates all procedures and forms of connecting and communicating between two or more devices using a wireless signal through wireless communication technologies and devices.
Features of Wireless Communication
The evolution of wireless technology has brought many advancements with its effective features.
The transmitted distance can be anywhere between a few meters (for example, a television's remote control) and thousands of kilometers (for example, radio communication).
Wireless communication can be used for cellular telephony, wireless access to the internet, wireless home networking, and so on.
