IBM Maximo Asset Management Training - Asset and Work Management for Chang Sh...Duane Aritonang
Work Management is designed to cover all of the applications that would be necessary for maintenance/asset management professionals in their work roles.
The applications covered include the MAXIMO 7 Environment, Navigation, Locations, Assets (Equipment), Work Orders (creation, planning and reporting of actual charges) and Failure Classifications.
In addition, the Work Planning components are included which focuses on the roles of Maintenance Craft Leads, Planners and Supervisors.
Safety plans provide all the safety related information about an asset or location in one record, which you can then copy to job plans and work orders. You must clearly associate safety requirements and procedures with work orders to fulfill the requirements of regulatory agencies.
A safety plan includes all the information needed to safely perform a specific type of work or job plan. To create a safety plan, you need to understand the relationship between its work assets and locations, related assets and locations, and all related hazards, hazardous materials, precautions, and tag out procedures.
- Associate Safety Plans to Locations, Assets, Rotating Items and Job Plans for association with Work Orders
- Inform employees of hazards they may encounter while performing work, as well as the actions they must take to prevent accidents
- Familiarize and train employees to reduce, report and avoid hazards.
Maximo Classifications are a tool to:
Improve data accuracy
1. Create a searchable, sortable item master catalog
2. Use the system to automatically generate item descriptions with correct taxonomy
3. Use item classes
4. Reduce Inventory carrying costs
5. Save time and effort related to finding parts

Internet of Things (IoT) and Fleet Management System (FMS)Abhijeet Banode
Fleet Management System (FMS) is one of the essential parts of businesses which directly or indirectly deal with automobiles. Precise fleet management minimizes various operational risks and increases cost efficiency. With proper utilization of analytics, alerts, and diagnostics, fleet management coverts businesses to be more reliable and sustainable. Like any other business, predicting risks and working towards mitigation is essential for businesses. Ample use of data analytics for early detection of faults and predictive mechanism helps business to reduce maintenance cost and downtime.
The cost of E2E fleet management system has been reduced due to efficient analytics platform based on quality open source solutions (e.g. MongoDB, Hadoop), reduction in cost of electronic assemblies (chipset cost, antenna cost), economical cellular data connectivity (eUICC, dedicated data plans for M2M, IoT), reduction and flexibility in cloud storage cost due to competition, and most importantly cross domain interest of companies from various vertical (e.g. Cellular operators), electronic product manufacturers, and IT services are exploring additional revenue streams in automotive domain.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

12. Maximo Asset Configuration Manager (ACM) 7.5
Features
Asset Enhancements The Assets (CM) application is used to manage physical builds of locomotives,
aircraft and other complex configuration-managed assets. The Build Data
Interpreter (BDI) component constantly tracks and validates changes to builds.
The BDI flags components that do not comply with defined configuration rules.
Asset Attributes Asset attributes provides the capability to manage attribute values to accurately
capture changes and to be used to analyze related data, such as which type of
asset the operator has the most failures relating to a particular part. The Asset
Attributes functionality uses the ACM functionality to derive the attributes
associated with an asset (and, where applicable, its children) at any point in
time.
Build Data Interpreter
(BDI)
The Build Data Interpreter (BDI) component of the Assets (CM) application
checks rail vehicles, aircraft and other configuration-managed assets, position by
position. It ensures that they comply with the configuration rules that you
established in the corresponding model.
Bulk Life Usage Load The Bulk Life Usage Load application is designed to simplify the process of
entering meter data by presenting the user with a view of an Asset Fleet (based
on the Fleet management application) and the relevant meter records to be
updated in a ‘tabular’ view that enables tabbing through the fleet and entering
the meter records.
13. Maximo Asset Configuration Manager (ACM) 7.5
Features
CM Build Item
Master
Build Item Master is an application for creating position codes against a
System/Series combination. The association between attributes enables highly
effective Event information to be captured and utilized throughout an
organization’s business areas to supporting asset / item analysis. An ‘Event’ is
any occurrence associated with an asset, this may be planned or an unplanned
occurrence.
CM Dynamic Value
List
The Dynamic Value List (DVL) allows the user to easily select attributes
associated with the asset and events. The DVL (CM) is designed to automatically
present the user with a limited set of value choices based on user selections and
pre-defined master data, allowing users to specify criteria under which certain
values are presented for use in a large number of value lists throughout Maximo
ACM.
CM Item Master Configuration-managed (CM) items are the building blocks of the Asset
Configuration Manager. They are one element of configuration-managed
reference data, which also includes build items and models. ACM validates
production assets against the reference data that you enter.
14. Maximo Asset Configuration Manager (ACM) 7.5
Features
Fleet Planning and
Maintenance
Forecasting
Maintenance Forecasting includes a visual User Interface that displays future
work, including Preventive Maintenance and Work Orders, and provides a “what
if” capability based on a fixed utilization algorithm. This provides a rough cut
capacity plan and support planning of PMs prior to Work Order generation.
Log Book Logs provide details about a trip. This module allows the user to create logs,
record trip details, report problems, record maintenance evaluations, initiate
work orders, and record the crew and crew certifications.
Hard Counts (Actual
meters)
This application extends the standard ACM Calculated Life functions recorded
using multiple meter records to record actual or “hard count” readings such as,
miles/kilometers traveled, flying hours, cycles, engine starts, etc. in addition to
delta readings.
Industry Reports Specific asset configuration management reports are included for clients
managing complex assets reports that support functions such as Fleet Status
and Reliability.
Install/Removes This capability is used in a number of applications to perform the component
installation and removals, and correct offsets to the usage of a related meter.
Master PM
(Maintenance Events)
The Master PM (CM) application is used to create and modify master PMs,
which are templates for other PM (Preventive Maintenance) records.
15. Maximo Asset Configuration Manager (ACM) 7.5
Features
Series The Series functionality supports the ACM Model application to allow the
definition of a Series (or Family) of Models against the other functions to be
aligned and managed. It will also allow ‘Event Groups’ to be defined for a
Series, where Event Groups relate to Event records, to better support reporting
capability
Technical Record
Enhancements
Technical records include the following types of records from manufacturers,
vendors, regulatory agencies, and others:
Customer Service Notices
Engineering And Design Publications
Fleet-Level And Component-Level Projects
Airworthiness Directives
Technical records generate critical time-dependent maintenance or design
change tasks that typically apply fleet-wide. They often affect asset
configurations, maintenance plans, and other reference data for a specific set of
assets in one or more equipment models. Technical records often have complex
criteria to define which assets they affect. They usually trigger maintenance
events and affect work planning forecasts immediately or in the future.
16. Maximo Asset Configuration Manager (ACM) 7.5
Features
Enhanced View Tree This application allows users to view CM asset hierarchies with a color-coded
view of asset configurations based on a validated configuration against Model /
Variation at any point in time.
Work Order Tracking
Enhancements
The Work Order Tracking (CM) application is used to plan, review, and approve
work orders for assets and locations. When you create a work order in Maximo,
you initiate the maintenance process and create a historical record of work being
performed.
Work Packages When you create a work order, the Work Order Tracking (CM) application alerts
you to current due, expected due, and outstanding deferred maintenance for
related parent and child assets. You can bundle some or all of these
maintenance requirements into a work package and perform all the maintenance
at the same time.
