2. North Boone CUSD 200
• 1700 students in six schools
• More than 50% F/R lunch
• High ESL/Hispanic population
• Few other support agencies in area
• No public library, park district, etc.
• No college in the county

3. Need to look beyond “test
scores” as the only measure of
progress

4. Program Evaluation Process
• Established the measurable criteria prior to
implementation with the Board
• Shared the data with the Board and staff
regularly
• Shared the results with the Board, staff and
the community

5. Key Areas for 1:1 Evaluation
• Test scores but also student growth
• Homework completion
• Discipline referrals
• Absence rates for students and staff (Engagement)
• Qualitative results from staff and student surveys
and interviews
• Cost (in fact a digital curriculum saves money)
• Network reliability

6. Whole School Assessment
• Educators need to take control from
“reformers” who see standardized tests as
the only measure of school effectiveness
• We need to ensure that schools are more
appropriately judged on a wider range of
criteria
