This document describes the case study of "Zack", a 30-year-old man who developed panic disorder after a drowning incident. He was treated using clinical hypnosis with cognitive-behavioral and spiritual strategies over 5 sessions. The treatment incorporated breathing exercises, cognitive restructuring, graded exposure, and incorporating Zack's Buddhist beliefs. After treatment, Zack's scores on panic and death anxiety scales decreased significantly and his panic attacks reduced in frequency and severity. The discussion notes the treatment primarily achieved first-order change and could have benefitted from more family involvement.
