Aristotle was a Greek philosopher born in 384 BC who made pioneering contributions across many fields. He founded his own school, the Lyceum, in Athens where he taught and wrote on diverse topics including physics, biology, metaphysics and politics. As the founder of zoology, Aristotle classified animals based on traits like blood and habitat. He viewed living things as existing in a hierarchical order with humans at the top. Aristotle is considered the father of logic and political science for his works in those areas.
