A Brief Note On The And Criminal Law Essay
WOMEN AND CRIMINAL LAW
SATI PREVENTION ACT,1987
SUBMITTED BY : SARTHAK CHILLER (A11911113165) B.A. LLB (H), SECTION C
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
It gives me immense pleasure to express my heartfelt gratitude to my Women and Criminal Law
Teacher Priyanka Ghai for his valuable guidance and support in preparing this project.
Secondly, I would also like to thank my parents and peers for their continuous support and guidance
for successful completion of my project.
Introduction
Sati (Prevention) Act, 1987 is law instituted by Government of Rajasthan in 1987. It turned into an
Act of the Parliament of India with the establishment of The Commission of Sati (Prevention) Act,
1987 in 1988. The Act looks to avoid Sati hone or the intentional or constrained blazing or
covering alive of dowagers, and to preclude glorification of this activity through the recognition of
any service, the cooperation in any parade, the making of a monetary trust, the development of a
sanctuary, or any activities to remember or respect the memory of a widow who submitted sati.
Sati was initially banned under Bengal Sati Regulation, 1829
Sati The Burning Of A Widow
Sati is portrayed as a Hindu custom in India in which the dowager was copied to fiery debris on her
dead spouse s fire. Essentially the custom of Sati was accepted to be a deliberate Hindu act in
which the lady willful chooses to end her existence

Tacitus Pessimism In Thrasea
It is easy to see the pessimism in Tacitus s Annals. Repeated descriptions of hypocritical, violent,
and corrupt action seem to indicate Tacitus s view that this was a wholly unjust period of Roman
history. However, Tacitus is not so unilateral. Subtly he places characters and situations that invoke
hope for the future. In examining Tacituss treatment of Thrasea, we can understand some of this
reticent yet tenacious hope. Looking at Thrasea, we can see hope for Justice on two connecting
fronts. First, Tacitus s favorable opinion of Thrasea demonstrated through his narration of events
provides an example of what Tacitus values in the midst of tyranny. These values of moderation and
virtue also include steadfastly opposing Nero, at times, showing that even in an unjust era
resistance is still possible. Second, Thrasea s advise and actions give us hope in a future
generation that will carry on past these troubling times and will hopefully follow Thrasea s
example. Through these two lenses of examining Thrasea, we can see Tacitus s hope. Thrasea is a
reoccurring... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While at first he is reticent about Thrasea s radicalism because of its ineffectiveness, he later
retracts this judgment and calls Thrasea s careful actions against Nero virtuous. But, this alone
does not immediately appear to point towards hope. While Thrasea may have been a virtuous
character that stood up against Nero s tyranny, he does not survive. Just like so many before
him, he is killed based upon Nero s grudge rather than any true Justice. How does this promote
optimism? The answer lies not in Thrasea himself, but in his actions. The hope in Thrasea s case
does not come only from his own story, but from the advice he gives to the youth around him as
he is about to die. This advice provides a philosophy for enduring the hardships of Nero that deeply
resonates at the end of the

Religion Affects Daily Life
How does Religion Affect Daily Lives?
The purpose of religion is to control yourself, not to criticise others. Dalai Lama. Religion is not
something people blindly follow for the hope of reaching heaven. At one point or another in life,
every person encounters the moment where they make the decision of being an active religious
person, a religious person but don t attend church, or don t believe in a superior power. Whether a
person chooses option one, two, or three, each choice brings consequences and a different life
with that choice. People live a different kind of life, with different goals to reach, and what kind of
life a person may want to live. Religion has a profound effect on people s daily lives, and the areas
it affects are work life, family life, and the standards a person holds.
Work Life
It happens to everyone, people are at work (or school) and have a project due on Monday, but
they see the clock ticking closer and closer to 5pm, and have that urge to slip out a few mins
early so they can get ahead of schedule on ordering the wings and pizza and getting good movie
tickets. The consequence of doing this is the person having to choose whether to finish the project
on Saturday, Sunday, or if the person really wants to push it, Monday morning. So what option are
you going to take?
Work Smarter, Not Harder
Full time committed religious people know the regular weekend schedule. Saturday is the day to
sleep in, cook some good breakfast, and take the kids

Key Steps to Winterizing Your RV Essay
Key Steps to Winterizing Your RV
Remember that RV that you spent all summer touring about the country in? Well its that time of
year when you need prepare for the long winter months that are ahead of us. It is very important
that you take these steps to protect your RV, if you don t this can result in some very unpleasant
discoveries next year when you try to go out on that first trip of the summer.
Plumbing
Winterizing the plumbing in your RV is probably the most important component to preparing your
rig for winter. If there is any chance of the temperatures reaching freezing, this is a must.
First off you need to flush out any water reservoirs: the blank and gray tanks, the water heater and
fresh water system. Once you have drained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And yes, rodents will try to get inside your RV; it would be like a five star resort for them to spend
the winter months in.
The first thing you want do is remove any food or fragrant items from the RV. This includes soap,
shampoo and toothpaste. Clean everywhere. Crumbs have habit of hiding in hard to find nooks
and crannies. There should be nothing to even resemble a food source for mice, rats or squirrels.
Clean and defrost your refrigerator and freezer. Prop open, their doors and leave an open container
of baking soda inside to absorb scents. Leaving dryer sheets, like Bounce, about the rig should help
deter rodents, but traditional mousetraps are quite effective.
Close all the curtains and blinds to protect the upholstery from the sun. Take batteries out of
flashlights and clocks, but don t forget to put them back in again next summer. Use moisture
absorbent like Damp Rid or Dri Z Air, this will help prevent mold and mildew from taking root.
Exterior Preparation
When preventing rodents from moving in to your RV you can t just rely on not having any
appetizing smelling items in there. Examine the exterior of your rig, from top to bottom, looking
for any openings that could let in a rodent. Don t forget a mouse can fit through any hole that you
can stick your finger in.
The best place to store your RV during the winter is under some kind of man made shelter, like a
carport. But, not all of us have access to something like that. The

The New Right Essay
Starting during the 1970s, factions of American conservatives slowly came together to form a new
and more radical dissenting conservative movement, the New Right. The New Right was just as
radical as its liberal opposite, with agendas to increase government involvement beyond the
established conservative view of government s role. Although New Right politicians made
admirable advances to dissemble New Deal economic policies, the movement as a whole counters
conservativism and the ideologies that America was founded on. Although the New Right adopts
conservative economic ideologies, its social agenda weakened the conservative movement by
focusing public attention to social and cultural issues that have no place within the established Old

George Gilder stays true to Old Right s pure market position in his book Wealth and Poverty,
where he promoted uncurbed capitalism and pure free enterprise. He rejected all forms of welfare
and redistribution, arguing that current welfare and other subsidy programs substantially reduce
work and incurs bitter resistance of the real working class . Gilder strayed from establishment
ideology when he added a moral element to his position, citing monogamous heterosexual marriage
as a requirement for upward mobility. Gilder is an example of how New Right intellectuals
borrowed Old Right economic theory and then tainted it by adding elements of morality and
traditionalism.
The Old Right also found common ground with Reagan s measures to deregulate business,
however many argued that he did not expand the policies enough. Reagan froze new regulations
and ordered a rollback of existing rules to decrease bureaucracy within federal regulation and
public services but failed to dismantle or privatize any federal programs. The push to privatize the
Social Security system is a central example of the New Right failing to fully dismantle New Deal
liberalism. Libertarian intellectual, J.D. Dorn, promoted privatization as a vital measure to keep
the system free of political influences and consistent with the principles of a free society . The Old
Right supported Social

Pros And Cons Of School Uniforms In Public Schools
Many public schools around the world have always given children diversity within the educational
environment. School administrators are able to achieve this goal by allowing students the ability to
freely express themselves. Until recent years, public schools and administrators have noted an
astonishing difference in behavior and academic performance. This success is due to the use of
school uniforms mandated in public schools. Unfortunately, most school districts follow certain
policies that restrict students from choosing their own form of dress. This restriction may contain
unintentional negative effects that may emotionally harm the children and interfere with their true
self. School uniforms follow strict policies that should not be mandatory in public schools because
they are a violation of student s human rightsthat deny these children the right to self expression
and individuality.
When school uniforms are mandatory they are unjustly forced upon a student denying them a sense
of self expression. Most children enjoy wearing clothing that they like and clothing that represents
who they are becoming as an individual. Although, when uniforms are mandatory students are not
permitted to wear the style of clothing that they enjoy. This could include clothing that represents
the children as a person such as graphics, symbols, lettering and phrases. When students are given a
mandatory dress code, they are ripped of their human right of self expression. One important factor

Neonatal Nurse Admission Essay
My passion in working in the medical field is one of the most amazing experience I will

Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), Radiology, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Internal
Medicine, Oncology, Urology, and so much more. As I got older, I became knowledgeable of
what career would fascinate me and keep it for the long term. Ultimately, I found two career
choices that I like which is neonatal nurse and OB/GYN because it deals with newborns and their

The Different Styles Of Parenting Essay
The two different styles of parenting that are described in the book are concerted cultivation and
natural growth. Concerted cultivation is typically seen in the middle class families. Whereas
natural growth is mainly seen in the working class families. The book defines concerted cultivation
as having Organized activities, established and controlled by mothers and fathers... (Lareau, 2011,
p.1). And it defines natural growth as having children experience long stretches of leisure time,
child initiated play, clear boundaries between adults and children, and daily interactions with the
kin. (Lareau, 2011, p.3). Essentially in concerted cultivationparents are focused in exposing their
children in activities that will implement skills that they can use later in life. Some of the skills will
be mentioned in the next paragraph. As for the natural growth approach, it is more concerned in
letting the child acquire the necessary skills on their own. This parentingstyle views that the parents
do not really impact the skills that the child learns. An example would be thinking that the child s
organized activity helps the child have something to do for a certain amount of time. They do not
view the child s activities as helping them acquire skills that will help them into adulthood.
Throughout the book it has become clear that the differences we are seeing are not due to racial or
ethnic background but rather to the parenting style that is implemented to the children. We are able

Diversity Is Becoming More And More Important As Years Go
The concept of diversity is becoming more and more important as years go by. This concept is not
as easy as it may appear; diversity is not just about acceptance and respect. Understanding what
diversity is means understanding that each person is unique; it means understanding and
recognising our differences; moreover, moving beyond differences of gender, race, age, religious
beliefs and political beliefs. Understanding and managing diversityis trying to make sure that all
those differences fit together like pieces of a mosaic. The concept is extremely important in
today s society, following everything that has been happening related to this matter. We consider
ourselves a tolerant and evolved society; yet we still hear of people of colour discriminated and
killed everyday, we still hear of women living in horrible conditions, deprived of their dignity and
sold as slaves. It appears obvious so, that diversity has to be taken into consideration when we talk
about organisations. Everything that is happening in the world is reflected into firms too;
organizations are, in fact, part of a wider social system.
That is why managing diversity is possibly one of the hardest challenges that managers have to
face in today s world. This essay is going to examine the concept of diversity in organisations
today, why we have to consider it important and what kinds of advantages companies receive.
Moreover, the essay will focus on gender diversity showing that even a lot of efforts still

The regulation imposed on the small scale farmer favors the large scale farmer who could afford

management. They were concerns with the profit margins they could realize in short time.
Large fund were pumped into the project, unskilled laborers were employed to handle food.
Science based fertilizer and cloning were the order of the day people. Expansion in the
production chain brings a lot of compromise to quality and standard of the product. The use of
conservative on products has caused more harm. There are more cases of obesity and chronic
diseases. The Fresh milk was substituted with stepped down pasteurized milk. It is good to get
rid of the dangerous germ, but pasteurization does more harm when exposed to high temperature.
Most of the individual who uses fresh milk were not considered. There are great numbers of cases

Fidel Castro s Influence On Cuba
In 1959 Castro launched his guerilla army into Havana to overthrow dictatorial leader of Cuba,
Fulgencio Batista. Many Cubans welcomed Castro and his ideas to reduce American influence in
Cuba. However, this power change became a concern for the Americans. Batista had been
considered pro american and an ally of America. Castro on the other hand disapproved of the
American approach to business and interests in Cubaand believed it was time for Cubans to assume
control of their own nation. In 1960 Castro began to establish diplomatic relations with the Soviet
Union, effectively severing former ties with the Americans. The Eisenhower, and later Kennedy

The invaders were vastly outnumbered, and they surrendered after less than 2 days. There was
no way to overthrow Castro without a strong political opposition, and no such opposition was
present inside or outside of Cuba. During the battle, Castro fought directly alongside his people,
proving his loyalty to them and demonstrating the effectiveness of his personality by rallying his
people behind him. He personally took charge of the defense, commanding troops, and air forces.
Steadily the invaders were pushed back and inevitably surrendered. This battle was a substantial
win for Castro, his revolution, and his people. With the loss of the invasion for America, came the
solidification of power for Castro. Castro became a hero to his people, as the emergence of
America as a foreign threat rallied the Cuban people behind Castro.
After the invasion Castro and his army captured roughly 1100 men of the American protected

the prisoners for a ransom. Initially Castro requested agricultural equipment and 500 caterpillar

government offered Castro much cheaper tractors valued at $17 million, which Castro found
insulting. He told the Americans there would be no deal. Nearly a year later at the end of March,

Symbolism In Battle Royal, By Ralph Ellison
I was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions which I, and only I could
answer (Ellison 527). Battle Royal , by Ralph Ellison, follows a story told by a man that the
reader only knows as invisible . He believes that he is equal to everyone else until he is invited to
Battle Royal to deliver a speech that was given the previous day for his graduation. At Battle
Royal, he experiences multiple trials throughout the story. Everyone leaves he finally gets to tell
his speech to the important people in the room. Symbolism is used by an author to give the story
a deeper meaning. In Foster s book, How To Read Literature Like a Professor, he has a chapter
called He s Blind For a Reason, You Know (209 214). In this chapter, Foster explains how blindness
is used to show that the character is blind to what is going on around him. He also says, if you
want your audience to know something important about your character (or the work at large),
introduce it early (213). In Battle Royal the narrator is at one point blindfolded. The blindfold is a
symbolof blindness. Ellison introduced this symbol very first, just as Foster said an author would
do to get the reader s attention. The so called invisible man says, Looking up front, I saw

British Imperialism In Africa
Overview of British Imperialism
Imperialism is when a world power colonizes a smaller country or kingdom, and then proceeds to
exploit the land and resources of the kingdom or country. Through the majority of the 18th century,
imperialism was a dominant force on global relations. During the peak of the Age of Imperialism,
Queen Victoria and her British empire dominated the world. British Imperialism started in the late
1700 s because of population growth and the advances in technology industrialism that occurred
during the Industrial Revolution. The areas that the British imperialized during this time period
include India, a large part of Africa, and Australia.

Social Darwinism takes this concept, applies it to humans and states that if a culture or kingdom
cannot protect itself from other cultures kingdoms, it should not exist. This is where the term
survival of the fittest comes from; only the strongest cultures will survive. Similarly, the quest to
spread Christianity around the world as a prevailing religion became and infectious force brought
about by Imperialism. Many of the people who decided to settle different countries were people
who were looking for new opportunities, with the exception of many of those who settled in
Australia, which was used as isolation territory for dangerous criminals. Imperialism reached its
height during the early mid 1800 s, and the decline of Britain s imperial empire was around the
1960 s.
The urge to expand the British Empire led the British to seek out and conquer India. They
controlled India from around the 1750 s to 1947. Before they colonized India and made it part
of the British Empire, the British first began trading with India in the early 1600 s. Britain first
started exerting control over parts of India in the late 1700 s with the start of a trade business
known as the East India Company. They chose to imperialize India because of military benefits
and Indian commodities such as spices and precious metals. By expanding their empire, the leading
world powers active at the time were able to

Cultural Changes During The Renaissance
How did Europe, a technological and cultural backwater during the Middle Ages, progress toward
the forefront of societal advancement? During the Renaissance and Reformation, cultural and
religious upheaval led to a major transformation of nearly all aspects of European life. This
transformation, spurred by developments such as the university, led to a rapid advance in European
learning, leading to increased opportunity for all. Although the Renaissancedid not truly begin until
later, events and developments during the Crusades helped incite its progression. The Crusades
helped to increase European contact with outside cultures, leading to an increased knowledge base
as well as new technology to draw from. As the Renaissance was a rebirth of ancient learning,
discoveries from earlier societies were crucial. During the Crusades, many ancient Greek and
Roman documents were discovered, such as Aristotle s writings from the Muslim world. Increased
cross cultural interaction led to a fascination with the classical culture of these previous time
periods, such as the Greco Roman style of architecture. Along with intangible cultural changes,
concrete technological changes were spurred by the Crusades. For example, through European
interactions with the Chinese, Europeans developed the technologies of paper making and
gunpowder, which assisted them in their endeavors. Long before the Renaissance, Europeans also
co opted the Arabic numeral system, which was important as mathematics

Explore Shakespeare s Presentation of the Three Great...
During the scenes depicting the Battle of Actium, Shakespeare s presentation of Octavius Caesar,
Mark Antony and Cleopatra cause the balance of audience sympathy to change between the three
great leaders. Audience sympathy never lies by any real amount with Caesar, and in Acts III and
IV, the audience feels increasingly alienated from him. This is largely due to his calculated,
ruthless style of leadership, which becomes more evident during the battle. Caesar judges wisely,
and is successful because of this, and by Act III, Scene 7 he has already defeated Toryne В–
previously one of Antony s territories. In Act III, Scene 12, Shakespeare presents Caesar as a
callous and cruel leader, as he hears the requests of Antony for peace and... Show more content on

Also, though unwisely, Antony suggests a feast for their comfort , and this summarises his
leadership, as he is no longer presented by Shakespeare as a great and powerful leader, but as a
kind and generous man. Caesar appears to be a heartless leader, detached from the people, whereas
Antony shows his emotions and, thus, appears more human, which causes the audience to
sympathise with him. In Act IV, Scenes 5 and 8, Shakespeare presents Antony as a great leader
once again, as he defeats Caesar s land army, winning an unexpected victory and causing the
audience to venerate him once more, instead of feeling pity for his predicament. However, this
triumph is short lived, and in Act IV, Scene 12, Antony s navy surrenders to Caesar without a fight,
deserting Antony, leaving him feeling betrayed, and, once again, the audience sympathy shifts even
further towards Antony. Cleopatra develops as a character during this sequence, becoming more
sensible and less melodramatic in response to trivial problems. In Act III, Scene 7, Enobarbus tells
Cleopatra not to be involved in the battle itself, saying that: If we

Health Halo Effect
The article The Fair Trade Effect: Health Halos From Social Ethics by Jonathon P. Schuldt,

which is when someone or something has a good first impression and further evaluations are seen
as good on unrelated topics. This effect also applies to foodand is called the healthhalo effect.
Examples of this are when companies put labels on foods like low fat or healthy, this leads to
people thinking that the food product has fewer calories, estimating less calories, and leads to
people ordering higher calorie foods. There is also discussion about whether ethical food claims

The first point in the article is that if there is the word organic or fair trade on the product it
affects how healthy a person perceives the product to be. I agree with this point because I am
one of those people, I am more likely to buy a product if it has organic or fair trade on the label
because I assume it is healthier. When I see this on the label I think low fat or low calories.
However, there are other factors that can influence the likely hood of a person choosing a
product and thinking it is healthy, like emoticons. A person is more likely to avoid a product if
there is a unhappy face emoticon on the label(Vasiljevic et al. 7). The second point is that people
are more likely to think a product has higher calories or lower calories depending on whether a
company treats its employees fairly or not. To me this point depends on how informed the
person is about products and companies. Many people are not really informed about how
companies treat their employees, especially when companies only allow the public to see what
they want us to see. The study was only conducted on people who had strong ethical food values
but what about people who do not have strong ethical food values. That is why labels are so
important it determines if a person perceives the product as unhealthy or healthy, but as discussed
in class even food labels can be

The last threat is also based from nearby competition. Relevance The completion has more seating
arrangements (125, 200, and 400) and they also sell products at a lower price.
Alternative Identification
The first alternative that may suite this lounge will be to hire a Dj and install an extended dance
floor for live entertainment on a regular basis. The Dj will play music during Happy Hour.
Music will change depending on what day it is and depending on the crowd that is attracted to
the Happy Hour session for drinks and entertainment. The second alternative that may suite this
lounge would to reduce the prices of the drinks such as beer, wine and liquor. This will be done
only during the time when traffic is heaviest. These months will begin from May to October. The
duration of this time will be six months. The third alternative that may suite this lounge would be to
look for a bartender in the surrounding area who is equivalent to D.J., the previous bartender, to
create a hype and attract customers just as Pirate s Pub did.
Decision Criteria
The number one goal for this company is to reach the $100,000 mark in the year 2000. Based on
the findings that are occurring in this company, the best way for this situation to have a chance of
occurring is by reducing the price of the drinks during a certain period of the year. This time frame

Jit Production System And Quality Control
Today a new production paradigm has emerged which can traced to various developments and
innovations within the JIT production system and quality control in Japan within the 1950s.
Variously labelled world class manufacturing , lean production , new production system , JIT/TQC ,
time based competition has become a mainstream approach to production ideology by the major
manufacturing companies in both the USA and within Europe. This new ideology of production
has already had some profound consequences in a range of diverse industries from car
manufacturing to electronics. Beyond this the techniques have spread into fields such as
customized production, services, administration and product development. This new philosophy
has evolved... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In design, control and improvement of production systems, both aspects have to be considered.
Herein lies the issue: traditionally managerial philosophies have only considered conversions, either
that or else all activity has been considered as adding value. The general disregard of flow processes
have led to a complex, confused and uncertain understanding of their operation as well an expansion
of non value adding activities and hence a reduction of general output value. Nonetheless a range of
flow process principles have evolved and there is good evidence that these principles have produced
an efficiency of flow processes and also one which may be considerably improved. These can be
summarized thus: 1.Reduce the share of non value adding activities. 2.Increase output value
through systematic consideration of customer requirements. 3.Reduce variability. 4.Reduce cycle
times. 5.Simplify by minimizing the number of steps, parts and linkages. 6.Increase output
flexibility. 7.Increase process transparency. 8.Focus control on the complete process. 9.Build
continuous improvement into the process. 10.Balance flow improvement with conversion
improvement. 11.Benchmark. Various forms of analysis has demonstrated that, as with the
manufacturing sector, the conceptual basis of construction

Reflective Essay On Belief In God
I think the first clue that I would never be religious was when I started falling asleep during
Sunday school. I remember being seven and not understanding how you could pray to some
invisible dude in the sky. I was baptized Methodist, but my family stopped attending our church
after a change in reverends when I was 8. After that, my flimsy connection to Methodism
disappeared entirely. Our family had been pretty lax about religion, saying a brief grace at dinner
the only religious act we performed outside of attending church. I ve always viewed religion as
having a belief in Godor gods which have influence in the goings on of Earth and everything in
it. If I had to label my relation with religion nowadays, agnostic would be the most accurate term.
I can t bring myself to deny the existence of deities, as there is so much about the universe that
we know nothing about. That s how I deal with the fact that some people are religious we can t
prove that there are deities, but we also can t prove that they don t exist. It wouldn t be fair to
invalidate someone else s beliefs to justify mine when even my own could be proven wrong. I
can be correct and so can someone of another view because our beliefs are just our perceptions of
the world they don t actually govern how the world really works, at least those things outside of
human control. If I think that the universe formed from the Big Bang and my friend thinks that
God created the universe, we re both right because we have no

Animal Therapy Vs. Traditional Nursing Practice
Animal assisted therapy is the use of animals, most popularly canines for their friendly, loving, and
nonjudgmental approach in patient treatment. Animal therapy may be considered unorthodox
within standard nursing practice and thus the studies produced have been limited and more inquiry
is needed. This paper will discuss the benefits animal therapy can produce for cancerpatients
psychologically and physiologically as well as increasing job satisfaction for nurses. Its expected
outcome is to exemplify animal assisted therapy s potential as a complementary treatment to
traditional nursing practice that can be normalized in the future. From the evaluation of three
studies and one literature review the significance associated with animal assisted therapy results
will be examined. As well as analyzing these various studies, discussing their limitations and
presenting their comparisons. The animals included trained canines of different breed and size and
the sample population was cancer patients specifically those undergoing radiation or chemotherapy.
Interventions included presenting the various breeds of dogs to patients before (in the waiting
room) and during (while receiving chemotherapy) treatment. Trainers were present at all times and
patients were able to interact, pet, hold, play and walk with the dogs. Its usefulness is minutely
recognized in nursing and can be of importance to the nursing practice as a cathartic alternative
therapy and intervention that has potential

Have you ever sat and wondered how the four seasons were created? Are you curious to know
when Summer met the sun, or why Autumn first let go of its leaves? This tale goes back to
ancient times, back when people worshipped Demeter, the Greek goddess of the harvest. Demeter
cared for everything that grew on Earth, every plant, fruit and grain. She taught men and women
how to plant seeds and plough fields. She asked Sun to shine for the land, and Rain to bring water.
She helped farmers harvest their crops. The people loved their kind earth mother and listened

Functions Of An Efficient Portfolio
A. Portfolio; feasible set; efficient portfolio; efficient frontier
A portfolio is a group of financial assets, differing in possible risk and return, and is managed by
an investor or a group of professionals. Generally, a higher return expected by a portfolio owner
generates a higher risk as well, and vice versa. The mix of financial assets can range, and these can
include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and cash equivalents. Stocks are considered the most volatile
of these options and thus generate the highest return/highest risk, with bonds being one of the safer
options, which only generate a low return/low risk.
A feasible set of portfolios refers to the possible combinations of financial assets that an investor

In contrast to portfolios with less diversification, which tend to be sub optimal and below the curve,
the efficient frontier curve outlines diversified portfolios that are optimal. This is depicted by the
graph attached.
{See Graph 1}
As outlined in the example diagram provided by YoungResearch, the efficient frontier
adequately demonstrates the impact of diversification, showing how it is a factor in
determining the curve s optimal portfolios, determined by the amounts of risk (measured by
standard deviation of annual returns) and return (average of annual returns). For example, a
portfolio with only 100% stocks would generate a large return of 12.5%, though also a large risk
of 17%. This is the opposite to a portfolio of 100% bonds, where the return would be smaller at
9%, though with significantly less risk at approximately 9%. Consider the bundle with 10% risk
and 10.75% return, which is the one composed of 50% stocks and 50% bonds. This may be
viewed as a more favorable option for the investor, as return is higher than a portfolio with only
bonds, though with less risk, compared to a portfolio with only stocks.
{See Graph 2}
B. Indifference curve; optimal portfolio

variables. In portfolio theory, this would mean utility as a function of both expected returns and

Implementing A New Tracking System Essay
The situation surrounding the problem within the Office of Appeals is adapting from seeing things
as they are to seeing things as they could be. The Agency must take final administrative action on a
hearing within 90 days of the date of the initial request. Although, the 90 day time frame allowed
pursuant to regulations, the Agency makes every effort to conduct hearings promptly, and if
possible, render decisions in a shorter time frame. Therefore, the new trackingsystem will have a
tremendous impact on conducting the hearing within the allotted time.
It s time to move into the fast pace and changing technology world. The Office of Appeals must
be equipped with today s technology to ensure that our beneficiaries and stakeholders receive
information and assistance as quickly and efficiently as possible. Incorporating a new tracking
system could serve that purpose. By instituting a new tracking system, the Division of Medicaid
could greatly improve the quality or services it provides to its beneficiaries and stakeholders. A
new appeal tracking system would minimize the time in providing hearing notification to the
beneficiaries we serve. By utilizing the most recent program software, it will allow the Office of
Appeals to thoroughly track an appeal from the beginning to the final administrative decision.
The major issue is the Excel spreadsheet the Office of Appeals currently uses to track appeals
displays data in text and numbers only. The spreadsheet does not effectively

The Year For Medical Innovation
Introduction [1.0] The year 2016 is the year for medical innovation. It s when we push out cures for
diseases previously incurable, continue the fight with superbugs, and attempt to preserve public
health by means of vaccines and public sanitation. Whether it be an innovation that humans
consume directly, such as a medical drug, or a background implementation, such as public
sanitation in public spaces. The ultimate goal is to preserve the homo sapien species, and its health.
A new problem has arisen as the population grows, ironically, there has been a shortage in human
organs for those in need. This can be due to multiple reasons, including less people dying in a

The ambitious plan is to use printers to print out organs and eventually perform a transplant to
replace the patient s nonfunctional one, with a lab printed functional organ.
The Printing In order to understand 3D printing, you need to understand how generic multi
dimensional printing works. 3D Printing uses computer aided printing technology to deposit
layers of the material in specific location to form a three dimensional object. Traditional three
dimensional printing is expensive, but scientists plan on using inkjet based printers in bioprinting.
These printers are able to deposit tiny ink drops onto a surface upon demand using thermal inkjet
technology. A small air bubble is heated until it collapses, and the force from the collapse serves
as a pulse that forces tiny droplets of ink out of the nozzle. This allows for more precise printing.
The temperatures during the printing process can reach as high as 300 C, but the entire process is
so instantaneous, that it only lasts for a couple of microseconds. With this technology, living cells
can be printed at the same time that nutrients, drugs, and other important chemicals, as well as
protective gels. [2.0] The actual process of how printing works lies in three important factors, the
printer, the ink, and the product. [2.1/2.1.1]

Then on a spontaneous occurrence, racial exclusion and divide began to change as the 1970 s

conflict increased between gangs. From the novella Can t Stop Won t Stop, Jeff Chang
describes that gangs would compete through lyrics and song, The song climaxed with a
promise: We are gonna take you higher with Ghetto Brother Power! (Chang, 106). This was vital
to the establishment of hip hop culture as this conflict between gangs influenced a yearning for
competition, thus allowing for hip hop to be explored and practiced. While these gangs may
have been a battleground for turf wars and anarchy, hip hop was bringing peace and unity
amongst the Bronx population. John Surico, a writer for Vice News, interviews the director

The Role Of Music In Ancient Civilizations
Regardless of where they are located, almost all ancient civilizations share basic features. For
example, most civilizations develop things such as a class system, a common religion, or a system
of writing. Another mark of a successful civilization is the evolution of music. Since music is not
essential to survival, its development is usually within a large established society. The purpose of
musicvaries from civilization to civilization, era to era. In some cultures, music accompanied
religious rituals, as one sees in Ancient Egyptand Mesopotamia. In others, such as Ancient Greece,
music was a part of education and entertainment. Music also played a very important role in
keeping legends and records of history alive through oral tradition. The way it was produced ranged
from monophonic vocalizations in its earliest history to complex instruments and systems later in
time. Any way it was produced, the role music played was one of the most important in ancient
societies.
The earliest sign of music was discovered in architectural sites of Mesopotamia. Some of the main
evidence that music was an important part of Ancient Mesopotamian society was writing about it
found on ancient stone tablets. So far, ten tablets with writings concerning musical scales have been
found in sites around Ur and other ancient cities such as Nippur. They contain information about the
musical scales used in Ancient Mesopotamian music, revealing that there were seven different and
interrelated scales

Greek Society s Influence On Gender And Sexual Norms
Ancient Greek society had its own ideas and values on gender and sexual norms that were
reflected by the Olympian gods. These reflections often had small differences that separated the
Olympian gods from humans. Other times there was little reflection between the Olympain gods
and Ancient Greek society. Some of these reflections include the values of parthenoi, unmarried
women; pederasty, a type of male homosexuality; and lastly moicheia, illicit sexual relationships.
These reflections from Olympian gods to Greek society show how these values were important to
be included in religious tales. Parthenoi were women that were of an age where they could marry
but had yet to do so. Male sentiments of parthenoi ranged from the positive views that she was
captivating and necessary to continue human life and succession, while on the negative she was
seen as uncontrollable and wild like an animal. Men believed that women were always vulnerable to
reverting back to their untamed state of nature and so needed the guidance of men and their
protection. Marriage was one way of subduing women, reflected in a common term for wife, damar,
meaning tamed. It is for this reason that parthenoi were considered dangerous to be left unmarried.
This sentiment is reflected in the mortal parthenoi characters in mythology. Daphne is a mortal
parthenos figure who rejected the social expectation of marriage and joined Artemis hunters.
However, she later attracted the attention of Apollo who pursued her

Nitrogen is one of the main biogeochemical elements, around which a cycle supports life on Earth.
Nitrogen can be found in many forms, one of which is nitrite, a toxic chemical that can produce
severe abnormalities in animals (Binta and Mushi, 2012). Nitrite is formed from nitrate by micro
organisms and bacteria present in soil, water, saliva, and the large intestine of most animals. These
micro organisms are present in high amounts in ruminants such as cows, which poses serious
implications on the dairy industry as nitrite poisoning, if nitratelevels are not closely monitored, can
lead to the death of large numbers of livestock as well as birth defects in calves. In ruminants,
nitrate is reduced to nitrite, and the rumen microbes utilize this nitrite by converting it into ammonia
as a nitrogenous source important in DNA production and synthesis of amino acids (Robson, 2007).
Though, when levels of nitrogenrise in excess, nitrite accumulates in rumen, and is then rapidly
absorbed into the bloodstream, then reacting with the ferrous form of haemoglobin to form met
haemoglobin (met Hb) (Sidhu et al., 2011). This is a serious issue as met Hb is a poor
transporter of oxygen and the animal suffers from oxygen deficiency. Nitrite poisoning has
become more common over the past century as application of nitrogen fertilizer to farmland
improves both quality and yield of milk produced by cattle (Sidhu et al., 2011). Nitrogen increases
the levels of crude protein in forage, which

Epidural Anesthesia Essay
Spinal and Epidural Anesthesia
Spinal anesthesia and epidural anesthesia are methods of numbing a part of your body during a
medical procedure. They involve an injection of a numbing medicine (anesthetic) in your back, near
your spinal cord.
Spinal anesthesia is usually done to numb your body from the level of the injection downward. It is
often used during surgeries of the pelvis, hips, legs, and lower abdomen. It begins working almost
immediately after the injection.
Epidural anesthesia may be done to numb the area above or below the injection. It is often used
during childbirth and after major abdominal or chest surgery. It takes 10 20 minutes to begin
working.
LET YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER KNOW ABOUT:

medicines. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ask your health care provider if you will have to spend the night at the hospital. If you will not
have to spend the night, arrange to have an adult drive you and stay with you for 24 hours.
PROCEDURE
You will be connected to several monitors. The connection can be via patches on the chest, a cuff
around the arm, or a sensor device on a finger. The monitors will allow your health care provider to
watch your blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen levels to make sure that the anesthetic does not cause
any problems.
An IV tube may be inserted to give you fluids and medicines throughout the procedure as needed.
You will be asked to lie on your side with your knees and chin bent toward your chest, or you may
be asked to sit up. These positions open up the space between the bones in your back and makes it
easier for the medicine to be injected.
The area of your back where the medicine will be injected will be cleaned.
A medicine to numb a small area (local anesthetic) may be injected in the area where the spinal or
epidural anesthetic will be

Australian Voice Essay
Hi everyone! How are you today? Nice to see all you guys here. Let s me introduce myself first.
My name is Jane Kennedy. I am one of writers of the film The Castle . I m sure that everyone has
watched The Castle , right? I m invited to be here and tell you about this movie as well as how I
and my team have built up and shown the ideas about the voice of Australians through it. As you
know, everyone including Australians have their own way of understanding and an opinion of the
world and people in it. That s called their voice . However, the way Australians view and
understand the world is unique. Let s come back to The Castle , this is a story about the Kerrigan
family who together stand up to fight against the government for their... Show more content on

It gives them love and they love it too. The next thing I want to say which explores Australians
unique ways of thinking is their belief in what is right or wrong no matter who is involved.
Because the house means everything to Australians people, they will do everything they can to
protect it. My fellow worker also director of The Castle , Rob Sitch has cleverly and effectively
used many film techniques to express this idea. Do you remember when Darryl and Dennis stand
in the Federal court? There is a big contrast between the underdog and the authorities. The close up
and the medium shots were taken to show his confidence in the facial expression and body
language. On the other hand, the low angel camera shot up to the judge emphasis the power of the
law. These both reveal Darryl s determination of battling even when he knows that he is fighting
against the government. By these techniques, it s clear to see that no matter how hard the situation
is, no matter how limited individuals ability is, Australians people will still be brave to stand up,
fight for their right and protect their family.
And, last but not least, the very important thing I have to tell you is Australians willingness to help
and fight for underdogs. Later in the movie, Hammil comes to Darryl and asks to help him to keep
the house. In the scene when they went to the High Court, the costume status has been

  • 2. A Brief Note On The And Criminal Law Essay WOMEN AND CRIMINAL LAW SATI PREVENTION ACT,1987 SUBMITTED BY : SARTHAK CHILLER (A11911113165) B.A. LLB (H), SECTION C ACKNOWLEDGEMENT It gives me immense pleasure to express my heartfelt gratitude to my Women and Criminal Law Teacher Priyanka Ghai for his valuable guidance and support in preparing this project. Secondly, I would also like to thank my parents and peers for their continuous support and guidance for successful completion of my project. Introduction Sati (Prevention) Act, 1987 is law instituted by Government of Rajasthan in 1987. It turned into an Act of the Parliament of India with the establishment of The Commission of Sati (Prevention) Act, 1987 in 1988. The Act looks to avoid Sati hone or the intentional or constrained blazing or covering alive of dowagers, and to preclude glorification of this activity through the recognition of any service, the cooperation in any parade, the making of a monetary trust, the development of a sanctuary, or any activities to remember or respect the memory of a widow who submitted sati. Sati was initially banned under Bengal Sati Regulation, 1829 Sati The Burning Of A Widow Sati is portrayed as a Hindu custom in India in which the dowager was copied to fiery debris on her dead spouse s fire. Essentially the custom of Sati was accepted to be a deliberate Hindu act in which the lady willful chooses to end her existence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Tacitus Pessimism In Thrasea It is easy to see the pessimism in Tacitus s Annals. Repeated descriptions of hypocritical, violent, and corrupt action seem to indicate Tacitus s view that this was a wholly unjust period of Roman history. However, Tacitus is not so unilateral. Subtly he places characters and situations that invoke hope for the future. In examining Tacituss treatment of Thrasea, we can understand some of this reticent yet tenacious hope. Looking at Thrasea, we can see hope for Justice on two connecting fronts. First, Tacitus s favorable opinion of Thrasea demonstrated through his narration of events provides an example of what Tacitus values in the midst of tyranny. These values of moderation and virtue also include steadfastly opposing Nero, at times, showing that even in an unjust era resistance is still possible. Second, Thrasea s advise and actions give us hope in a future generation that will carry on past these troubling times and will hopefully follow Thrasea s example. Through these two lenses of examining Thrasea, we can see Tacitus s hope. Thrasea is a reoccurring... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While at first he is reticent about Thrasea s radicalism because of its ineffectiveness, he later retracts this judgment and calls Thrasea s careful actions against Nero virtuous. But, this alone does not immediately appear to point towards hope. While Thrasea may have been a virtuous character that stood up against Nero s tyranny, he does not survive. Just like so many before him, he is killed based upon Nero s grudge rather than any true Justice. How does this promote optimism? The answer lies not in Thrasea himself, but in his actions. Religion is not something people blindly follow for the hope of reaching heaven. At one point or another in life, every person encounters the moment where they make the decision of being an active religious person, a religious person but don t attend church, or don t believe in a superior power. Whether a person chooses option one, two, or three, each choice brings consequences and a different life with that choice. People live a different kind of life, with different goals to reach, and what kind of life a person may want to live. Religion has a profound effect on people s daily lives, and the areas it affects are work life, family life, and the standards a person holds. Work Life It happens to everyone, people are at work (or school) and have a project due on Monday, but they see the clock ticking closer and closer to 5pm, and have that urge to slip out a few mins early so they can get ahead of schedule on ordering the wings and pizza and getting good movie tickets. The consequence of doing this is the person having to choose whether to finish the project on Saturday, Sunday, or if the person really wants to push it, Monday morning. The New Right was just as radical as its liberal opposite, with agendas to increase government involvement beyond the established conservative view of government s role. Although New Right politicians made admirable advances to dissemble New Deal economic policies, the movement as a whole counters conservativism and the ideologies that America was founded on. Gilder strayed from establishment ideology when he added a moral element to his position, citing monogamous heterosexual marriage as a requirement for upward mobility. The Old Right also found common ground with Reagan s measures to deregulate business, however many argued that he did not expand the policies enough. Reagan froze new regulations and ordered a rollback of existing rules to decrease bureaucracy within federal regulation and public services but failed to dismantle or privatize any federal programs. • 9. Pros And Cons Of School Uniforms In Public Schools Many public schools around the world have always given children diversity within the educational environment. School administrators are able to achieve this goal by allowing students the ability to freely express themselves. Until recent years, public schools and administrators have noted an astonishing difference in behavior and academic performance. This success is due to the use of school uniforms mandated in public schools. Unfortunately, most school districts follow certain policies that restrict students from choosing their own form of dress. This restriction may contain unintentional negative effects that may emotionally harm the children and interfere with their true self. School uniforms follow strict policies that should not be mandatory in public schools because they are a violation of student s human rightsthat deny these children the right to self expression and individuality. When school uniforms are mandatory they are unjustly forced upon a student denying them a sense of self expression. Most children enjoy wearing clothing that they like and clothing that represents who they are becoming as an individual. Although, when uniforms are mandatory students are not permitted to wear the style of clothing that they enjoy. This could include clothing that represents the children as a person such as graphics, symbols, lettering and phrases. Concerted cultivation is typically seen in the middle class families. Whereas natural growth is mainly seen in the working class families. The book defines concerted cultivation as having Organized activities, established and controlled by mothers and fathers... (Lareau, 2011, p.1). And it defines natural growth as having children experience long stretches of leisure time, child initiated play, clear boundaries between adults and children, and daily interactions with the kin. (Lareau, 2011, p.3). Essentially in concerted cultivationparents are focused in exposing their children in activities that will implement skills that they can use later in life. Some of the skills will be mentioned in the next paragraph. As for the natural growth approach, it is more concerned in letting the child acquire the necessary skills on their own. This parentingstyle views that the parents do not really impact the skills that the child learns. An example would be thinking that the child s organized activity helps the child have something to do for a certain amount of time. They do not view the child s activities as helping them acquire skills that will help them into adulthood. This concept is not as easy as it may appear; diversity is not just about acceptance and respect. Understanding what diversity is means understanding that each person is unique; it means understanding and recognising our differences; moreover, moving beyond differences of gender, race, age, religious beliefs and political beliefs. Understanding and managing diversityis trying to make sure that all those differences fit together like pieces of a mosaic. The concept is extremely important in today s society, following everything that has been happening related to this matter. We consider ourselves a tolerant and evolved society; yet we still hear of people of colour discriminated and killed everyday, we still hear of women living in horrible conditions, deprived of their dignity and sold as slaves. It appears obvious so, that diversity has to be taken into consideration when we talk about organisations. Everything that is happening in the world is reflected into firms too; organizations are, in fact, part of a wider social system. That is why managing diversity is possibly one of the hardest challenges that managers have to face in today s world. During the Renaissance and Reformation, cultural and religious upheaval led to a major transformation of nearly all aspects of European life. This transformation, spurred by developments such as the university, led to a rapid advance in European learning, leading to increased opportunity for all. Although the Renaissancedid not truly begin until later, events and developments during the Crusades helped incite its progression. The Crusades helped to increase European contact with outside cultures, leading to an increased knowledge base as well as new technology to draw from. As the Renaissance was a rebirth of ancient learning, discoveries from earlier societies were crucial. During the Crusades, many ancient Greek and Roman documents were discovered, such as Aristotle s writings from the Muslim world. Increased cross cultural interaction led to a fascination with the classical culture of these previous time periods, such as the Greco Roman style of architecture. Along with intangible cultural changes, concrete technological changes were spurred by the Crusades. During the scenes depicting the Battle of Actium, Shakespeare s presentation of Octavius Caesar, Mark Antony and Cleopatra cause the balance of audience sympathy to change between the three great leaders. Audience sympathy never lies by any real amount with Caesar, and in Acts III and IV, the audience feels increasingly alienated from him. This is largely due to his calculated, ruthless style of leadership, which becomes more evident during the battle. Caesar judges wisely, and is successful because of this, and by Act III, Scene 7 he has already defeated Toryne В– previously one of Antony s territories. This effect also applies to foodand is called the healthhalo effect. Examples of this are when companies put labels on foods like low fat or healthy, this leads to people thinking that the food product has fewer calories, estimating less calories, and leads to people ordering higher calorie foods. The first point in the article is that if there is the word organic or fair trade on the product it affects how healthy a person perceives the product to be. I agree with this point because I am one of those people, I am more likely to buy a product if it has organic or fair trade on the label because I assume it is healthier. When I see this on the label I think low fat or low calories. However, there are other factors that can influence the likely hood of a person choosing a product and thinking it is healthy, like emoticons. A person is more likely to avoid a product if there is a unhappy face emoticon on the label(Vasiljevic et al. 7). The second point is that people are more likely to think a product has higher calories or lower calories depending on whether a company treats its employees fairly or not. To me this point depends on how informed the person is about products and companies. Many people are not really informed about how companies treat their employees, especially when companies only allow the public to see what they want us to see. • 23. Reflective Essay On Belief In God I think the first clue that I would never be religious was when I started falling asleep during Sunday school. I remember being seven and not understanding how you could pray to some invisible dude in the sky. I was baptized Methodist, but my family stopped attending our church after a change in reverends when I was 8. After that, my flimsy connection to Methodism disappeared entirely. Our family had been pretty lax about religion, saying a brief grace at dinner the only religious act we performed outside of attending church. I ve always viewed religion as having a belief in Godor gods which have influence in the goings on of Earth and everything in it. If I had to label my relation with religion nowadays, agnostic would be the most accurate term. I can t bring myself to deny the existence of deities, as there is so much about the universe that we know nothing about. That s how I deal with the fact that some people are religious we can t prove that there are deities, but we also can t prove that they don t exist. Traditional Nursing Practice Animal assisted therapy is the use of animals, most popularly canines for their friendly, loving, and nonjudgmental approach in patient treatment. Animal therapy may be considered unorthodox within standard nursing practice and thus the studies produced have been limited and more inquiry is needed. This paper will discuss the benefits animal therapy can produce for cancerpatients psychologically and physiologically as well as increasing job satisfaction for nurses. Its expected outcome is to exemplify animal assisted therapy s potential as a complementary treatment to traditional nursing practice that can be normalized in the future. From the evaluation of three studies and one literature review the significance associated with animal assisted therapy results will be examined. As well as analyzing these various studies, discussing their limitations and presenting their comparisons. The animals included trained canines of different breed and size and the sample population was cancer patients specifically those undergoing radiation or chemotherapy. Interventions included presenting the various breeds of dogs to patients before (in the waiting room) and during (while receiving chemotherapy) treatment. Trainers were present at all times and patients were able to interact, pet, hold, play and walk with the dogs. Its usefulness is minutely recognized in nursing and can be of importance to the nursing practice as a cathartic alternative therapy and intervention that has potential ... Portfolio; feasible set; efficient portfolio; efficient frontier A portfolio is a group of financial assets, differing in possible risk and return, and is managed by an investor or a group of professionals. Generally, a higher return expected by a portfolio owner generates a higher risk as well, and vice versa. The mix of financial assets can range, and these can include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and cash equivalents. In contrast to portfolios with less diversification, which tend to be sub optimal and below the curve, the efficient frontier curve outlines diversified portfolios that are optimal. This is depicted by the graph attached. {See Graph 1} As outlined in the example diagram provided by YoungResearch, the efficient frontier adequately demonstrates the impact of diversification, showing how it is a factor in determining the curve s optimal portfolios, determined by the amounts of risk (measured by standard deviation of annual returns) and return (average of annual returns). For example, a portfolio with only 100% stocks would generate a large return of 12.5%, though also a large risk of 17%. This is the opposite to a portfolio of 100% bonds, where the return would be smaller at 9%, though with significantly less risk at approximately 9%. Consider the bundle with 10% risk and 10.75% return, which is the one composed of 50% stocks and 50% bonds. This may be viewed as a more favorable option for the investor, as return is higher than a portfolio with only bonds, though with less risk, compared to a portfolio with only stocks. {See Graph 2} B. Whether it be an innovation that humans consume directly, such as a medical drug, or a background implementation, such as public sanitation in public spaces. The ultimate goal is to preserve the homo sapien species, and its health. A new problem has arisen as the population grows, ironically, there has been a shortage in human organs for those in need. This can be due to multiple reasons, including less people dying in a region (to provide functional parts) and a healthier general population. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ambitious plan is to use printers to print out organs and eventually perform a transplant to replace the patient s nonfunctional one, with a lab printed functional organ. The Printing In order to understand 3D printing, you need to understand how generic multi dimensional printing works. 3D Printing uses computer aided printing technology to deposit layers of the material in specific location to form a three dimensional object. Traditional three dimensional printing is expensive, but scientists plan on using inkjet based printers in bioprinting. These printers are able to deposit tiny ink drops onto a surface upon demand using thermal inkjet technology. A small air bubble is heated until it collapses, and the force from the collapse serves as a pulse that forces tiny droplets of ink out of the nozzle. This allows for more precise printing. The temperatures during the printing process can reach as high as 300 C, but the entire process is so instantaneous, that it only lasts for a couple of microseconds. With this technology, living cells can be printed at the same time that nutrients, drugs, and other important chemicals, as well as protective gels. [2.0] The actual process of how printing works lies in three important factors, the printer, the ink, and the product. [2.1/2.1.1] ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, most civilizations develop things such as a class system, a common religion, or a system of writing. Another mark of a successful civilization is the evolution of music. Since music is not essential to survival, its development is usually within a large established society. The purpose of musicvaries from civilization to civilization, era to era. In some cultures, music accompanied religious rituals, as one sees in Ancient Egyptand Mesopotamia. In others, such as Ancient Greece, music was a part of education and entertainment. Music also played a very important role in keeping legends and records of history alive through oral tradition. The way it was produced ranged from monophonic vocalizations in its earliest history to complex instruments and systems later in time. Any way it was produced, the role music played was one of the most important in ancient societies. The earliest sign of music was discovered in architectural sites of Mesopotamia. Some of the main evidence that music was an important part of Ancient Mesopotamian society was writing about it found on ancient stone tablets. • 40. Greek Society s Influence On Gender And Sexual Norms Ancient Greek society had its own ideas and values on gender and sexual norms that were reflected by the Olympian gods. These reflections often had small differences that separated the Olympian gods from humans. Other times there was little reflection between the Olympain gods and Ancient Greek society. Some of these reflections include the values of parthenoi, unmarried women; pederasty, a type of male homosexuality; and lastly moicheia, illicit sexual relationships. These reflections from Olympian gods to Greek society show how these values were important to be included in religious tales. Parthenoi were women that were of an age where they could marry but had yet to do so. Male sentiments of parthenoi ranged from the positive views that she was captivating and necessary to continue human life and succession, while on the negative she was seen as uncontrollable and wild like an animal. Men believed that women were always vulnerable to reverting back to their untamed state of nature and so needed the guidance of men and their protection. Marriage was one way of subduing women, reflected in a common term for wife, damar, meaning tamed. It is for this reason that parthenoi were considered dangerous to be left unmarried. This sentiment is reflected in the mortal parthenoi characters in mythology. Daphne is a mortal parthenos figure who rejected the social expectation of marriage and joined Artemis hunters. • 41. The Effects Of Nitrogen On The Dairy Industry Nitrogen is one of the main biogeochemical elements, around which a cycle supports life on Earth. Nitrogen can be found in many forms, one of which is nitrite, a toxic chemical that can produce severe abnormalities in animals (Binta and Mushi, 2012). Nitrite is formed from nitrate by micro organisms and bacteria present in soil, water, saliva, and the large intestine of most animals. These micro organisms are present in high amounts in ruminants such as cows, which poses serious implications on the dairy industry as nitrite poisoning, if nitratelevels are not closely monitored, can lead to the death of large numbers of livestock as well as birth defects in calves. In ruminants, nitrate is reduced to nitrite, and the rumen microbes utilize this nitrite by converting it into ammonia as a nitrogenous source important in DNA production and synthesis of amino acids (Robson, 2007). Though, when levels of nitrogenrise in excess, nitrite accumulates in rumen, and is then rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream, then reacting with the ferrous form of haemoglobin to form met haemoglobin (met Hb) (Sidhu et al., 2011). This is a serious issue as met Hb is a poor transporter of oxygen and the animal suffers from oxygen deficiency. Nitrite poisoning has become more common over the past century as application of nitrogen fertilizer to farmland improves both quality and yield of milk produced by cattle (Sidhu et al., 2011).
