Aquasomes are novel nanoparticulate carrier systems designed for the delivery of bioactive molecules, featuring a three-layered self-assembled structure with a solid nanocrystalline core. They enhance therapeutic efficacy and provide a favorable environment for drugs while maintaining stability against environmental challenges, although they can be expensive and may cause toxicity if drugs are poorly absorbed. Aquasomes can be utilized for various applications, including vaccine delivery, drug administration, and as substitutes for red blood cells.
