1) Photosynthesis requires carbon dioxide, water, and light energy from the sun to produce glucose from carbon dioxide and water. Glucose is then converted and stored as starch in chloroplasts.
2) The rate of photosynthesis is affected by limiting factors like light intensity, carbon dioxide levels, and temperature. Increasing a limiting factor increases the rate until another factor becomes limiting.
3) Plants use glucose for respiration, growth, reproduction and storage. Starch is the main storage product because it is insoluble and does not affect the plant's water balance like glucose would.
