1. Introduction
Business at the Base of the Pyramid, or Impactful Business, is a new
generation of “Business Models”, whose products & services will help
increase the quality of life of low-income populations.
edge aims to ensure that more talent from emerging markets is
encouraged to get into and stay in the field of business that serves low
income populations, accelerating its development. Our goal is to catalyze
the growth of local/regional talent networks and fulfill the talent gap of
impactful businesses that are looking forward to increase their results and
scalability.
During these 9 years, edge has achieved:
Over 200 talent placements in more than 120 different businesses,
start-ups and organizations in the field of Impactful Business in Asia
and Latin America;
60% of businesses extending, re-raising job opportunities with edge
or permanently hiring edge talent;
Over 20,000 young people educated through physical and virtual
learning events about impactful business field;
Over 17 Summits with more than 350 participants;
Role
The edge National Coordinator is responsible for delivering edge activities and strategies in
the specific country he/she is applying for.
The role’s responsibilities will include the following:
Talent Engagement - Engage young professionals with edge activities;
Learning Environment- Providing virtual and physical trainings with different
formats, contents and methodologies. The content will be about impactful business,
career in this field, trends and different sector’s approaches in this field, etc.;
Institutional Positioning- Market Research on the field of Business at the BoP in
Mexico. Segmenting, prospecting and contacting key players, opportunities,
challenges, trends, potential partners);
Strong Business and Talent Pipelines – Contacting key businesses and its enablers
that can be part of edge Growth Business Associate Program; Contacting leaders
and young professionals that can apply for edge Growth Business Associate
Program and other partnerships;
Management partnership with Talent partners, such as AIESEC – Create high
awareness of edge among organizations that work with young people such as
AIESEC.
Partnership Management- Prospect, sell and manage partnerships with Impactful
Business field players (sponsors, businesses, foundations, investors, accelerators,
etc.)
2. Reporting- Monthly reporting to edge Global Team and weekly report to Regional
Coordinator;
Strategy and co-creation – Develop, strategize and co-create programs, initiatives
and methodologies in order to reach national goals together with the Regional
Coordinator of Latin America.
Good case/benchmarking sharing in a global team – Sharing good case practices,
models, ideas and strategies with other National Coordinators and the whole global
team;
Activities to be delivered
Deliver virtual Trainings to young people that want to join this
field in Mexico or in our other markets;
Organize events together with Talent Partners (e.g. Invite
Speakers, Agenda Management, coach AIESEC and other
organizations on logistics and promotions of edge activities, co work
with other partner in order to reach common goals);
Promotion of edge activities amongst youth networks (AIESEC
members and alumni; Jr organizations, Social Media channels and groups,
Entrepreneurship networks, Universities’ events, etc.)
Promotion of edge activities amongst impactful business organizations (businesses,
accelerators, investors, foundations, etc.);
Conduct Market Research in Mexico together with the Reg. Coordinator of Latam
(interview players, organizations, entrepreneurs; Understand the field, its trends and
main concepts; report main discussions and analysis about the sector in the
country.
Create Relationship with relevant Players in Mexico and engage them in edge
activities (e.g. workshops at conferences, Speeches at Universities, sessions at
webinars)
Deliver Workshops at Local and National Conferences when necessary;
Represent edge at young professional organizations’ events in Mexico;
Represent edge at relevant field events in Mexico;
Weekly coordination and monthly reporting with the edge Global Team;
Profile
The most important requirement is the candidate’s passion and understanding of the
Impactful Business sector.

3. Expected Learning from the Role
The National Coordinator will be exposed to a variety of situations, which can develop the

Knowledge of Business Models that create impact on low-income people
Understanding of Business Start-Up process, Impact Investment options and Talent
needs of growing business ventures at the Base of the Pyramid
Managing partnerships and presenting a brand externally;
Virtual Communication and network creation;
Result Orientation and Time Management;
Team structure & reporting
The National Coordinator will report directly to edge Regional Coordinator- Latin America.
The Coordinator is part of the global edge Team of National Coordinators.
Expectations
This role is planned for a minimum duration of 12 Months but the
role prefers someone to be in edge long term.
12 months Conditions:
Monthly stipend: Between $ 10.000 y $ 13.000 Mexican
pesos
Work-related expenses are covered within the defined budget;
In general, edge opens its opportunities for international talent, but in this case, we
are looking for a Mexican;
Expected working time per week: 40 hrs. This is a full-time opportunity. An
important condition is to have the availability to work during some weekends,
according to edge and field’s event. Of course, in case the person works during
weekends he/she can take day-off in agreement with the Regional Coordinator;
Availability to travel: The National Coordinator needs to travel in order to do market
research trips and attend field events.
Availability to work in Mexico City, to do home-office during the week and to work
with personal computer. edge doesn’t have an exclusive office in Mexico yet, but
we are based in Mexico City with the support of one of our main partners, AIESEC.
For this role, we need someone working in the same city because of meetings,
trainings and market research, but with the availability to do home-office and to use
personal computer for work in many days of the week.
