With his publication of Izu no Odoriko in 1926, Yasunari Kawabata gained recognition for his
work. In this story, Kawabata tells the story of a student who is traveling along the Izu peninsula.
During his travels, he meets a group of traveling performers and decides to travel amongst them.
During his time with the performers, he is able to experience a life different from his student life in
Tokyo. An image that Kawabata repeatedly presents is a drum. The student tries to listen for the
drum whenever he is alone. To the student, the sound of the beating drum signifies that his time
with the traveling performers has yet come to an end. With its high popularity, Izu no Odoriko was
translated twice by two different translators during different time periods. The first translationwas
done by Edward Seidensticker in 1954. The second translation was done by J. Martin Holman in
1997. Though both Seidensticker and Holman translated the same story, there is still difference in
their translations. With the imagery of the drum, Holman and Seidensticker relay a difference in the
intensity of emotion; furthermore, with the analyzation from Tobias, it can be seen why each

the man believed to have really been the murderer; the man who led the Italian investigation and
Amanda Knox, herself. From the documentary we learn that Amanda Knox and Raffaele
Sollecito were wrongfully convicted of the murder of Knox s British roommate, Meredith
Kercher. Amanda Knox does an admirable job of detailing the crucial facts of the case. The film,
which often plays out like a narrative thriller, takes us back to the murder of Kercher in 2007 and
does so with the use of police footage of the crime scene. It takes us through the ensuing media
outrage, the false accusations, the trial and appeal, with contributions from those who were there.
The film undeniably takes a pro Knox stance because of how it focuses largely on its main
characters, therefore illuminating how something like this can happen to anyone. The film tries to
shed light of the wrongfully committed and how being acquainted with the victim can
automatically make you a suspect. The lack of communication and misinterpretation between the
two suspects and the police of Italy are mainly what caused Knox and Sollecito to spend years in

Mansfield Park, written by Jane Austen, is a literary classic full of symbolism. One such symbol
is that of gardening and landscaping, two highly important factors to the family in this novel. The
characters throughout the novel seem distressed at times about this factor in their lives. But why

As certain characters use language as a source of power, others use it to help others. It is these
different motivations that sharpen the image for who has good and bad intentions, allowing
differing consequences to occur. As a result of lying, this leads to conflicting morals and inevitable
consequences that have an impact on everyone else. In the novel Huck Finn Mark Twainargues that
lying is wrong and is a source of power that certain characters use to either help others or
themselves; however, the consequences are different due to these different motivations with

twenty seven Constitutional Amendments in total, but 10 of them represent The Bill of Rights.
The Bill of Rights ensures the basic individual protections such as freedom of speech and religion.
The Bill of Rights became part of the Constitution in December 15, 1791 by George Mason.
In my opinion, the 8th amendment is important because this amendment gives people the right
against excessive bail, fines, or cruel and unusual punishment. No citizen of the United States

that is too excessive for the crime. This Amendment was added to the Bill of Rights to ensure
greater stability and was a compromise between the legislature election in the original non party

different social class structures. They also resemble how the higher class citizens feel

during their time of release. For Django Unchained, the film showed the horror of slavery before
the civil war. Showing slaves being eaten by dogs to slaves fighting to the death, makes an
unconventional film for its time and raised a lot of controversy considering the movies historical
accuracy. The horror of slavery is in the dehumanization that slave owners create and the effects
placed upon the slave of having to do whatever is necessary to survive, including killing. The
memory of slavery is revisited and reminds the United States of its shame during the time of the
film. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is a revisionist western that pays homage to old western
movies. Since Westerns were outdated in the late 60 s, this revised western film is created with
New Hollywood elements including an unhappy ending and film using rock/pop soundtracks to
attract the youth.
