2. What is AP Academy?
The AP Academy is a program that offers a rigorous,
relevant, and challenging Advanced Placement
curriculum.
Students participating in the AP Academy enroll in
Honor and AP courses that challenge them to expand
their knowledge, increase their skills and dig deeper
into their subject matter.
3. Who should enroll in the
Academy?
Students who possess intrinsic motivation. The students will develop
requisite skills needed to achieve success in AP courses, improve SAT
& ACT scores, and establish the academic tool box necessary to
transition successfully to either a 2- or 4- year university program
after graduation.
Students who are prepared to accept the academic challenge inherent
in Academy courses.
Students who demonstrate the characteristics self-discipline,
perseverance, and independence, all of which are required for
success in the Academy.
Students who demonstrate a respect for self and others.

The AP Academy is designed to assist students seeking a
rigorous advanced curriculum throughout their high school
career. The AP Academy will offer students the following

Advanced Placement courses(AP)
Opportunities for pursuit of other academic and extracurricular interest
AP Academic Events~ college exploration, college financial aid and planning, summer
programs, guest speakers, etc.
School sponsored college tours and other travel opportunities
A supportive framework which includes peer mentoring and tutoring, SAT and ACT
test preparation opportunities, and administrative monitoring and support
Multiple levels of recognition upon exiting the program including special recognition
on diploma and at graduation ceremony

Meet all graduation requirements as specified by
district and state.
Meet all the requirements set by the AP Academy:
Red Level- 6 Honor Courses –5 AP Courses
Blue Level –6 Honor Courses-3 AP Courses
100 hours of community service during high school years
Leadership, participation, and commitment in at least one
school-sponsored organization or club
Attendance at AP Academy Evening Events; Minimum of two
each year
Maintain a 3.6 GPA (weighted)
