1. Evaluation
For my presentation,Idecidedtodoa writtenreport,asI wouldbe able tocollectbothqualitative andquantitative
data throughthismethod,incomparisontooral presentationoraudiocommentary. Idecidedtodoa survey,whichI
have acquiredresponsesthatcanbe graphedand put intocharts to show myquantitative dataresponses.Through
this,I wasalsoable to acquire qualitative responsesthroughmyopenandreflective questions.
I exhibitedthe animationIcreatedwithMaiathroughYoutube.We could’ve exhibitedouranimationthrough
differentvideoplatformlikeVimeo,uploaddirectlythroughFacebook, DailyMotion andothermore streaming
website.Through Youtube,we embeddedourvideosinourblogs,shareditasa postinFacebookand Twitter,as
well assendingdirectlinkthroughEmailsandMessenger.Thisway,we wouldbe able togatherdifferent
demographicsof responsesfrombothfriendsandacquaintances.
The feedbackwe hadwas collectedthroughadata sheet,we asked close friendsandacquaintancestoanswerour
survey – however,thiscouldpossiblyleadtobiasresponsestoourfeedback,therefore,itcould’vebeenusefulif we
had audience thatwe aren’tacquaintedof toavoidbiases.We receivedpositive feedbacksfromouraudience,in
additiontocritical feedbackswhichare veryusefulforwhere we needimprovement.
The genderpopulationof ourreceiveddata
were mostlyfemaleandonly20% were of
male population. We gathered15responses,

2. Whenaskedaboutwhat the genre of the ESting was,we receivedmixedanswersof confusion –asto what genre is
beingusedinthe ESting. We leftitas an openquestion, hopingtogeta close response tothe genre we hope tohave
come across withto the audience, whichwashorror. Most of our audience wrote ‘Idon’tknow’,whichcould’ve
beenavoided,if we have hadusedamultiple question.Inwhich,we wouldhave beenable togatheraquantitative
data.
We understoodwhythe audiencecouldfindthe genre confusingbecausethe only signof the horrortheme would
be the flyingpart, aswell asthe bloodsplatterwhichwasn’tred. However,we thoughtthatbyusinga purple blood
splat– itwould be consistenttothe E4 theme. If we could’ve putmore horrorconventionsinouranimation, the
audience would’ve probablyhave aclose guesstohorrorgenre.

3. The response we have gatheredwhenaskedaboutthe primaryandsecondaryaudiencewe are aimingatfor our
ESting. The response we gotfromthe reviewerof ourESting perceivedthatthe EStingwasaimedat mid-teens
primarily, andoursecondaryaudience are adultswhoare aged18 and over.We aimedthisEStingfor teens andlate
teens,therefore,itoverlapswithinthe age range of 17-19 yearsold.Of whichthe reviewersgotitright.However,
we could've avoidedoverlaps,if we were touse aquantitative type question.
Q5
For thisquestion,we receiveddifferenttypesof responsesvaryingfromprogressionfrompointA topoint B,
expressingcreativity,bathroomsandevenacomparisontoa popularNetflix series,StrangerThings.Perhaps,our
narrative wasnot clearenoughtothe audience.Although, the audiencemayhave notbeenaware, the narrative of
the EStinghas beenchangedquite afewtimes, hence, the confusionfromthe audience'sperspective.
4. Q6
We receivedmixedviewswhenaskedaboutthe quality. Some were praisingthe effectiveuse of lighting, andothers
suggestedthatwe could've usedbetterlighting. However,the reasonwe usedaslightdark-light-ishlightingswasto
give the thrillingeffecttothe animation. There were reviewsaboutthe flow andtransitionof the animation,in
which,we receivedmixedresponsesaswell.
The firstimage isour firstdraft of the animation, the lightingswereverydark. We thoughtthatby approachingitthis
way,it wouldhave abettereffectthatwill be consistenttoournarrative.However,lookingatourfinal animation –
whenwe made the changesas to subjectthe suggestionsfromourclass. We foundthatit actuallylooksmuch better
withthe lighting, andthe grainy-movie like effectaddeddepthontothe animation
5. Q7
Whenaskedaboutthe fluidityof the animation,we received6/10overall.We gatheredbywatchingplaybacks,that
there were scenesthatwasnot flowingverywell andcouldbe improve on. Particularly, onthe partwhere Maiawas
transitioningfromthe cubicle place tothe sinks.
Draft Animation
Final Animation
As youcan see inthe draftanimationstills,it’sveryhardtosee the transitionfromthe cubiclestothe sink. We
addressedthisissue byhavingabetterlighting,we usedgrainyeffecttomake itlooklike anoldvideo. We also
adjustedthe lightingthroughpremierproto lightenituptoo.
6. Q8
As perthe visual effects, the audiencesgave goodreviewsonourwork – especially, the splateffectinthe end.The
audience thoughtthatthe visualsof the animationwere well integratedtogether.
