ANALYSIS OF STUDENT ADVERT
ELLIEZAMBAKIDES – DAUGHTER – IFYOU LEAVE
I chose to analyse Ellie’s magazine advert as foremost it is really quite beautiful really and so artistic and detailed it really
stands out from all of the other students magazine adverts that I looked at. Her editing is done so well the entire advert
seems like its never been done before in the past and it initially looks very professional and links to her music video and all of
her music video work that goes hand in hand with it.
Ellie had one advert on her blog for her album/music video this is the advert she stuck to throughout her work; by having the
mask as the main aspect of her advert was a very cleaver idea as that is initially the main aspect of her entire music video and
moreover the theme that the music video portrayed throughout it. So it was a cleaver idea to have the mask as the image of
the magazine advert as people will register the mask to her music video and remember it which is a great form of advertising.
The use of the colours and the depth makes the entire advert seem very professional and seemingly something you would
see in a magazine.The positioning of all of the parts of the advert are very effecting, the mask in the centre with detail of
branches behind It so there isn’t any negative space and the positioning of the words as well; so it doesn’t cover the mask at
all they are positioned at the sides of it which causes it to have a very artistic look with the use of rule of thirds.
She seemed to have kept with more or less the same font throughout the font, perhaps two different font but other than
that they are both still very similar, both having that curly look to them. Its good she didn’t use too many different fonts as
that way it can easily come across as far too confusing this way she has still kept with a theme for her advert and its not too
over the top, its simple yet effective.
The small writing for the 4AD and the social media is also very cleaver as that causes it to be even more realistic and by not
having them too large either is a good use of space. In addition all of the font seems to be rather spaced out from each other
which does look better than it would do if it wasn’t spaced out as this way it does still look very interesting and effective.
I am confident in that I feel I have learned a lot from this advert every aspect of it works well with each other creating a very
nice looking magazine advert that does look very professional. I love how your focus isn’t just on one aspect of it, you are
drawn to the mask but you also see the writing and then the background so it does look very good for a students digipak and
I am happy I chose hers to analyse.

I love how your focus isn’t just on one aspect of it, you are drawn to the mask but you also see the writing and then the background so it does look very good for a students digipak and I am happy I chose hers to analyse.
