A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
Anthony Burgess s A Clockwork Orange has been placed under much scrutiny by literary critics
and readers everywhere. Furthermore, this highly criticized novel contains a myriad of ways to
engage with the work, whether it is from the psychological or ethical perspective. Through College
Literature Journal s article O My Brothers , the unnamed author draws interesting connections
between the main character s development and how pseudo families and pseudo self plays a part
on this said development. The author of this article generates an association between Alex s pseudo
families who have not accomplished what families are expected to accomplish in one s life, and the
way that Alex behaves because of it. Interestingly enough, the author... Show more content on

On the other hand the concept of a pseudo family provided is ...the dysfunctional interpersonal unit
that...offers only the illusion of genuine community (O My Brothers 22 23). The author is defining
the pseudo families that are affecting Alex heavily as Alex s ultra violent gang of droogs ...
Deltoid...his ineffectual parents and the sadistic practitioners of Ludovico s Technique (O My
Brothers 23). So, ultimately the term of family is being applied to the broad and diverse groups of
relationships that Alex has had throughout the course of the novel. This broad application results in
the haziness of the term family due to the fact that all of these relationships offer diverse
expectations from the individual; one would expect different things from their family, than from
their friends. For instance, Alex would expect treatment from his ineffectual parents to differ from
his expected treatment from his droogs . Furthermore, when someone undergoes a failing friendship

A Glimpse into Nineteenth Century Brazil Essay
Esau and Jacob by Joaquim Machado de Assis portrays the tumultuous relationship between twin
brothers, Pedro and Paulo, during the late nineteenth century; the twins symbolize the Brazilian
political struggles during the transition from a monarchy to a republic. The brothers are
emblematically born in 1870, at the end of the Paraguayan War, a time when the Brazilian political
elite split between conservatives and reformers (xiii). The brothers fight; their most contentious
arguments regard politics. Paulo is a republican and Pedrois a monarchist. The only commonalities
the twins have are their love for their mother, Natividade, and their courtship of Flora. As an
allegory, Natividade represents the old nation of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Esau and Jacob illustrates the mix of Brazilians uncertainty and indifference during the fall of the
monarchy, the flaws of their political system, and provides insights into 19th century society.
Uncertainty as the Monarchy Collapses
One of the cornerstones of Brazilian national mythology is the myth of conciliation. In 1822,
Pedro I proclaimed Fico ( I am staying ) to declare Brazilian independence from Portugal; Brazil
separated from Portugal and created a nation without a revolutionary war. In 1889, Marshal
Deodoro de Fonseca declared Brazil a republic without firing a shot. Brazil s bloodless history is
extraordinary, especially compared to the gory political upheavals in Spanish Latin America.
Mexico, for example, endured a ten year revolutionary war in which 10% of the population was
killed and another 10% emigrated before the Porfirian dictatorship was ousted and a semi
democratic state was formed. Despite the relative peacefulness of the Brazilian revolution, chapter
LXIII ( The New Sign ) finds CustГіdio, the teashop owner, agonizing about the name of his
teashop. The teashop s original name is Confietaria do ImpГ©rio, however the day after the
monarchy collapses, CustГіdio fears revolutionary mobs will ransack his shop because of the
teashop s association with the old regime. CustГіdio considers renaming the

Exploring the Reasons for Differences in Educational...
Exploring the Reasons for Differences in Educational Achievement Between Different Ethnic
Groups
I believe that this is an important issue to consider as research has shown that whilst Afro
Caribbean males are at the very bottom in terms of achievement, West Indian females tend to do
even better than white females at GCSE. Sociologists such as Cecil Wright link educational
achievement with teacher racism and labelling whilst other sociologists such as Charlotte Brookes
link it with cultural deprivation: issues concerned with ethnicity. Ethnic groups contain people who
share a common history, custom, identity and in most cases language and religion. The issue of
differences in educational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cecil Wright 1992 noted of teacher labelling, [Afro Caribbean] hold expectations of bad behaviour
along with disapproval, punishment and teacher insensitivity to racism . She also affirmed that of
primary school children, Rastafarians in particular were perceived as a threat to classroom
management and often treat more harshly.
Sociologist Bernard Coard (1971) used impressionistic evidence and personal experience to prove
his hypothesis The education system makes black children become educationally subnormal by
making them feel inferior in every way . Following his research he found that the word white is
associated with good and the word black with evil , especially in children s books. Furthermore he
noted that books often only contain white people and black music, art and culture are absent from
the curriculum. I believe that his research completely supports his hypothesis as it is inevitable that
some young children that associate black will evil will resent black children and therefore they
attract hostility from other children which makes their school life extremely unpleasant.

Genghis Khan, be unparalleled in conquerors history, is considered as the greatest military
leaders of all time. His contiguous empire stretched from China to Europe controlling the largest
empire in history. However, he himself never be greedy for gain. His driving force to rule the
huge empire was the generosity. He distributed all of the spoils of wars to his able generals and
his people. Genghis Khan born on the grass ger and died on the grass as well. He left nothing but

What impact did the Vikings have on North Britain
What impact did the Vikings have on North Britain?
Shortly before the ninth century, North west Europe was exposed to raids and attacks from the
Scandinavians. They had discovered the wealth that could be obtained from the richer communities
of Britain and Frankia, both in currency and natural resources (the latter being found especially in
Ireland). As time went on, during the course of the ninth century, the leaders of the attacks on these
countries grew more ambitious and soon there were different motives for raiding these places.
Many leaders had become content to stay and settle permanently in these abundantly richer
countries. This process of Viking settlement led to the integration of two cultures, between the
peoples of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Soon after, Orkney, Shetland and the majority of the western Isles had fallen to the new
Scandinavian settlers. In 839, the Vikings had enjoyed a major victory in which the King of
Fortriu, Eogan mac Oengusa and the King of Dal Riata, Aed mac Boanta were both killed in
battle. In 867 the Vikings had seized control of Northubria forming the Kingdom of York . Which
is also mentioned in the Annals of Ulster; The dark foreigners won a battle over the northern
Saxons at York. Approximately three years after, Dunbarton was also taken over as well, leaving a
newly combined Pictish and Gaelic kingdom which had been brought together by Cinead mac
Alpin ( or more commonly known as Kenneth Alpin), leaving the Kingdom almost entirely
encircled by the new Scandinavian settlers
The usual perception of Vikings plays reference to their role mainly as raiders, being disruptive and
destructive. However conquerors and colonists made a more positive contribution by encouraging
commerce, the growth of towns and re shaping political structures. We can see this by the fact that
much of North England had been

Riordan Manufacturing Company Business Systems
Good communication is vital in any organization. Riordan Manufacturing Company is a multi

Human resources Riordan is currently upgrading the current business systems of each department.
Management has asked the human resources department to provide information for the current
department business systems and subsystems such as: the name of the system, how the systems
work together for that department, what information is contained in the system and what security is
used for that part of the system. The human resources department will research different business
software systems and provide information on a new and secure business software system that will
be needed to replace the current system.
Riordan is currently using an HRIS system that was installed in 1992 as part of a package system
that the financial department is using. The system uses data retrieved from specialized forms and a
subsystem of excel spreadsheets. The forms are used by managers and the employee relation
specialists. The forms used by managers include employees personal information, pay rate, tax
information, date hired, seniority date, vacation time, and organizational information. The

Importance Of Life In My Life
Where have we been and WHAT HAPPENED IN ZIMBABWE?!?!? It s been too long and it s
completely our fault Much to my chagrin turns out Chindi was right it has been over two
months! Shame on us! Did you think we had given up? No, we will never surrender! We went
live 07/11/17 with ambitious goals. Partially I was motivated to get started rather than stuck in
the what if s, how s, and logistics. The go live was effective in prompting us to jump in and get
to work. Where we have lacked is in our consistency, then we have been beset with an onset of
monumental life changes that have caused us to come to a grinding halt. HOWEVER, there is
a lesson, of course, and our motto is problems are opportunities . Where have we been? At the
radius we are about expansion and behind the scenes there has been tons of growth. Myself, I
continue to work during the day, as well as volunteer and coordinate community based events. In
addition to that, I applied for and was appointed to a vacant school board seat. Given that I
wanted to perform well, and increase my learning curve I devoted many hours in training to my
new role. This was a detriment to my ability to record episodes, do social media and blog posts.
What I have learned/modified about my behavior is spacing doing all the things I love to do, but
less of them. Being deliberate about giving myself space. Also I go to bed earlier, and thus wake
up at 4:30am, most days, which affords me a lot of productivity time to work out and work

Social Commentary On A Sprawls
How do I start reviewing a film like this? I mostly just felt very stifled with the rambunctious
quips that flow in this film like a breeze and fill it up to the very brim. Its social commentary is
analogous to the indomitably obnoxious teenage angst profiled rampantly that is ever so pervasive
in this day and age. Things to note after a thoroughgoing watch of this are that it s simply not quite
your standard typified internalized drama that sprawls incessantly and instead conjures a very
pleasant, a somewhat weirdly endearing troupe of personages that you can t help but appreciate
because they re so oddly realistic. And it s not just the empirical, ostensibly exhaustive plot and
technicality matters that get to you, but the very renditions themselves.... Show more content on

The problems that are entangled in the film s root aren t so prevalent and can easily be ignored, but
the film feels a tad overlong in what it is trying to accomplish. Granted, somewhat interesting
story underpinned by stellar performances while witty, incisive banter abounds in among frames,
but the arduousness has its say later on. I feel what s so good about this film lies in the fact that
it s simply not trying to cross the line and re invent the wheel, but merely give the viewer a
comfortable and darkly comical short of two hours time frame; and unsurprisingly succeeds
because it has those bits on a string. It s not rousing by any means, and neither is it contemplative
or despondent because of its affairs it could have well been that but instead prances in uncanny
valley territory due to its bravura in making the most of comicality, however glum or repulsive it

Persuasive Essay On Vegetarianism
Being vegetarian or vegan is not only beneficial to the animals that are being slaughtered but it
also beneficial to the earth and helps to reduce global warming. According to Wikipedia, there
are more than seven billion people and out of those seven billion people only three hundred and
seventy five million people are said to be vegetarian or vegan. This mass slaughter of animals and
livestock is also one of the leading causes of global warming. People may think that the earthis
slowly dying but that is not the case anymore as global warming has caught up with us.
According to NASA, there are 406.94 parts per million of carbon di oxide in the atmosphere the
highest it has ever been in 650000 years. The global temperature has risen by 1.7 В°F and
sixteen out of the seventeen warmest years on earth have been recorded since 2001. The arctic
ice minimum has decreased by 13.2% per decade and in 2012 arctic summer sea ice shrank to the
lowest extent on record. The global sea level has also grown by 3.4 millimeters per year and the
global average sea level has risen nearly 178mm over the past 100 years. These statistics show you
how quickly global warming and climate changeare having an effect on earth and who knows what
the stats will be in another 50 to 100 years the earth may become uninhabitable and humans will be
the sole reason for this.
The earth has been dying slowly under our noses for many generations and we are feeling the
effect of this now and it will only get worse. The earth has been dying ever since we had the
industrial revolution so that humans could benefit and the planet could be destroyed. The polar
ice caps are melting, the weather is changing there have been months in my lifetime itself where
usually it will be cold or below a certain temperature but due to global warming I have
experienced extreme heat in months when it should not be. All of the effects of global warming
have been cause by humans Chlorofluorocarbons have been destroying the ozone layer and
allowing higher level of UV rays to penetrate the earths surface causing skin cancer and many other
horrible effects to the world around us.
Every year the meat industry is said to kill more than 66 billion animals for human consumption.

Conditioning And Learning Lab Report
Purpose The purpose of the experiment in the Conditioning and Learning Lab was to have the rat
that was already shaped to press the lever, to continue to do so in the conditioning phase by use of a
continuous reinforcement schedule (CRF) and then transition into the extinction phase. The group
of experimenters wanted to observe the effects of conditioning which is defined by Britannica as
the behavioral process whereby a response becomes more frequent or more predictable in a given
environment as a result of reinforcement, with reinforcement typically being a stimulus or reward
for a desired response. With the conditioning implemented the experiment required extinctionwhich

acclimation phase of sniffing around the Skinner box, perching herself up on the back end to

The Case Marbury V. Madison
In the early years of the Republic, states came often in front of the Supreme Court to resolve
disputes of issue of the supremacy of the National Government. In 1803 the case Marbury v.
Madison held that Congress cannot pass laws that are contrary to the Constitution, and it is the
role of the Judicial System to interpret what the Constitution permits. The discrepancies between
the Federal Government and the States occurred often, as the States were not happy to give up
their power to the Federal Government. Late 1810 raised the issue of the financial stability of the
states, banks were comprehended as the symbol of power and privilege, and were despised by the
vast majority of the people. During the Anglo American War in 1812, many banks collapsed under
the tough economic atmosphere. Survival Banks chartered by the states were also not in good
position. They lacked sufficient credit to support during the War time and in the post war situation
also. In 1811, the charter of the First Bank of the United Stateshas been expired, and the federal
government found itself not able to finance the war. In 1816, Congress accorded a charter to the
Second Bank of the United States and contributed with one fifth of the bank s capital of $35
million. Before the Federal Governemnt chartered the Second Bank of the United States, and
before a single form of currency was set, the state chartered banks had less government restrictions
and were able to speculate on their bank policies. They

DISCUSSION
HISTORICAL FIRE REGIME
LIGHTNING
Before Aboriginal and European settlement, lightning was the primary natural source of fire,
especially in tropical parts of Australia (Kohen, 1996). These lightning caused bushfires have
drastically shaped the landscape and its vegetation. Plants have developed different adaptations to
tolerate these fires and in turn contributed to the natural diversity in the area. The Mountain Ash
(Eucalyptus regnans) trees growing in forests east of Melbourne are great examples of a tree
species adapted to bushfires. These trees are usually killed by intense fire but their seeds germinate
fast in the ash bed left behind by the fire (Museum Victoria, n.d.).
The city of Melbourne historically had a mix of grass, scrub, and trees in its landscape due to its
relatively flat terrain and its low elevation. Like the rest of the state of Victoria, lightning has played
an important role in shaping ecosystems and affecting different vegetation types.
ABORIGINAL FIRES
Fire events have increased ever since the Aboriginals have occupied the landscape about 40,000
years ago (Lindenmayer Burgman, 2005). They used fire to their advantage and helped change the
landscape in addition to lightning.

The Mechanisms Of Neural Communication
Discuss the mechanisms of neural communication and explain the impact that different drugs can
have on this communication.
Neural Communication
Everything we do is a product of neural communication, whether that be reacting to senses or
feeling emotions, it is all due to us having neural communication through millions of neurons
passing small electrical signals throughout the body through such pathways as the central nervous
system and the peripheral nervous system and passing information to and from the brain. These
neurons are made up of Dendrites which are connected to a cell body, or also known as the soma,
these are tree like feathery filament message receivers that collect these messages from other
neurons it is connected to, neurons are connected through a dendrite to axon terminal connections
and pass these messages through the body as action potentials.
As well as these there are also the axon of the cell which is covered in myelin sheaths which carried
information away from the cell body and hands the action potentials, these are small short bursts of
change in the electrical charge of the axon membrane through openings of ion channels, off to the
following neurons dendrites through terminal buttons at the end of the axons. Whenever an action
potential is passed through these terminal buttons it releases a chemicals that pass on the action
potential on to the next neuron through the terminal button and dendrite connection. The chemicals
that are

Comment and Response to Texting and Writing by Michaela...
Comment and Response to Texting and Writing by Michaela Cullington After reading Texting and
Writing, by Michaela Cullington, I do not agree with many of her viewpoints. Cullington argues
that texting does not affect a students writing. Textspeak, the abbreviation and shortening of words
like used when writinga text message, does affect the way a student writes because they use the
abbreviations, and their writings tend to lack punctuation. When a writer uses excessive
abbreviations on a regular basis they can get stuck in the writer s head causing them to use them in
all of their writings. Cullington did make good points of her own opinion on texting and writing in
her piece, but I disagree with her and believe that texting and... Show more content on

Cullington recalled a few examples that teachers found while reading papers, 2 instead of to, ;
gr8, instead of great, ; dat, in place of that, ; g2g, for got to go, ; hbu, instead of how about you, ;
cuz, to replace because, ; and wut, for what, . Textspeak is a dangerous way to write, and once a
writer learns and gets used to writing that way, writing papers for school becomes more and more
difficult. A common acronym is LOL which is an abbreviationfor laugh out loud. The abbreviated
for LOL would not be acceptable for an academic paper. Our current generation needs to pay
more attention when writing, and to use correct spelling and not use acronyms to shorten their
written ideas. Writing College, Writing Life s article Learning the Language by Perri Klass
talks about how some professions require abbreviations, which is one of the few times it is
accecptable. Abbrevaitons can be helpful and an easy way to write a few words in just a few
letters. Teachers do not like abbreviations because the writer tends to assume the reader knows
what each acronym means, the paper should be and enjoyable read, not a confusing puzzle. While
writing a paper for school teachers do not approve of abbreviation and acronyms, the writer should
just take his or her time to write our each word correctly. Michaela Cullington believes that texting

The Effects Of Physical Abuse On Child Abuse
The United States has been fighting the war against child abuse since the first case of child
abuse in 1874 that included a child being beaten and chained against her will (Meadows, 2014).
Many people hear the words child abuse and think of physical abuse. While, many people are
correct in thinking of physical abuse, an Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) study done by the
CDC shows that although physical abuse is the leading form of child abuse, emotional or
psychological abuseis the second leading form of child abuse (2014). Although one would think
sexual abuse along with physical abuse would be the prominent form of abuse, this is not the
case. One of the major reasons emotional neglect is more prominent than sexual abuse is due to
the fact that emotional abuse is not being overlooked as often as it used to. In fact, it is now
being seen as the gateway to physical and sexual abuse (Garbarino, Guttman, Seeley, 1988). The
amounts of consequences that come from being abused as a child are countless as well as life
changing, some of these life changing effects were identified by the CDC as drug abuse, sexual
transmitted diseases, suicidal thoughts, and difficulty learning (2014). When a child who has been
abused begins school they approach the classroom setting, similar to a dog that has been abused by
its owner approaches other humans, the child approaches the classroom with a skeptical attitude
(Fink, A. H., Janssen, K. N, 1992). They are constantly avoiding

Cause And Bad Effects Of Smoking
Smoking
We all know smoking is bad for us. But do you know exactly why? Smoking can lead to cancer
and cancer can lead to death. That can put a big effect on a loved one. For the people that don t
smoke, smoking affects them as well. Smoking is killing society. Smoking is killing people slowly
the ones who quick to light up a cigarette. Second hand smoke affect society more than the person
that s puffing the cigarette.
Smoking has people that don t smoke kick out money for the ones who smoke. It is proven that
the person who inhales the smoke coming out from the cigarette is more affected than the one
who smokes. Second hand smoke can cause you to get sick than you might have to go to the
doctor. You may not have Medicaid and hospital bills can be sky high. When someone smokes a
cigarette, most of the smoke doesn t go into their lungs. It goes into the air, where anyone nearby
can breathe it. That s why some restaurants smoking is prohibited. Do you have kids at home?
Smoking around your kids increases their risk of developing ear infections, asthma, and other
breathing complications like coughs, shortness of breath. Every family member in your household
is at risk cause of second hand.
When working on a job even when you not puffing a cigarette your colleagues can still be
impacted. The smokers cost businesses an average $5,816 extra dollars each year. Secondhand

Paragraph 1 (introduction and thesis) Thesis not included From Wikipedia, the free
encyclopedia This article is about the psychological phenomenon. For the bystander effect in
radiobiology, see Bystander effect (radiobiology). The bystander effect, or bystander apathy, is a
social psychological phenomenon that refers to cases in which individuals do not offer any
means of help to a victim when other people are present. The probability of help is inversely
related to the number of bystanders. In other words, the greater the number of bystanders, the
less likely it is that any one of them will help. No thesis included...create one for your document.

Theme Of Power And Control In The Handmaid s Tale
It is necessary for the government to impose a certain amount of power and control on its citizens
for a society to function properly. However, overuse and misuse of power and control in a society
eliminates the freedom of the residents, forbidding them to live an ordinary life. In the dystopic
futuristic novel, The Handmaid s Tale, Margaret Atwood demonstrates the idea of power and
control through the oppressive society Gilead. The government establishes power and control with
the Wall, the Salvagings, and military control. As well, the government s unique use of the Aunts
and Red Centres demonstrates the unfair oppression and indoctrination of the women and potential
Handmaids within the society. This type of control can be compared to... Show more content on

Offred continuously recounts the advice that Aunt Lydia tells the Handmaids throughout her story.
This indoctrination makes the Handmaids become so accustomed to this new way of life that it
becomes normal to them: Ordinary, said Aunt Lydia, is what you are used to. This may not seem
ordinary to you now, but after a time it will. It will become ordinary (Atwood 33). This proves that
Gilead can transform the natural human response of fear into blankness. Oppression and torture
become accepted because the Handmaids eventually become used to these ideas. The Aunts
brainwash the Handmaids into gradually accepting this new way of life. Once the Handmaids
accept this way of life, it truly shows the persuasive nature of the Aunts and the power both they and
the government hold over the Handmaids. An example of the Aunts brainwashing the Handmaids
is when the Aunts make them believe and accept that Janine was responsible her gang rape. Offred
describes the persuasive nature of the Aunts to the reader: But whose fault was it? Aunt Helena
says, holding up one plump finger. Her fault, her fault, her fault, we chant in unison. Who led them
on? Aunt Helena beams, pleased with us. She did. She did. She did. Why did God allow such a
terrible thing to happen? Teach her a lesson. Teach her a lesson. Teach her a lesson (Atwood 72).
This instruction and repetition the Aunts use demonstrates the inequality and imbalance between
them and the Handmaids, who they are teaching to submit and behave. The Aunts also help to
establish power and control with fear and intimidation. For instance, when Moira was caught from
attempting to escape the Red Center, the Aunts tortured her by beating her feet with steel cables.
Moira s punishment is a reminder that the Aunts have the power to torture the Handmaids, which
creates the fear and establishes the

At 10:00 we got on our plane to head to Fort Myers, Florida. The plane ride was long and tiring,
and on the plane I was sitting next to a very nice lady while I was doing my homework.
Do you need to turn on the lights? she asked.
No I m okay, I replied. Thank you though. We went on with the rest of our plane ride. Before
landing our pilot did a little overview of the ocean and Florida, even though we couldn t see, the
lights from Florida looked amazing! When we got off the plane and everyone was tired at 2:00 in
the morning and we got our rental car and headed off to the hotel. Of course we jumped in bed when
we got there and slept until morning.
The first day in Florida was really exciting for me because I ve never been there and it was a first
time experience with Florida. We went to go get breakfastand I saw the lady that was on the plane
with me there! After breakfast we decided to meet up with family that stayed in Florida and we
went to some shops and explored around the city. The weather in Florida was kind of chilly that
day so we didn t get to do much. After that we went to go eat, then went back to the hotel. At the
hotel we all decided to go out to the pool. We put on our swimming suits and headed downstairs
to the nice outdoor pool. After a while we went inside and watched Netflix on our phones while
some of us slept. The next day was kind of a random day. We drove

The Disney Princesses
Some figures that have been very important and influential to young children for a long time are
the Disney Princesses. There are many features about these characters that make them so loved
however after careful analysis is becomes obvious that these are not the kinds of characters
children should be idolizing. Many young girls spend a large amount of their life wanting to be
a princess but Disney s portrayal of princesses makes this not seem so desirable. A princess
according to Disney is a young, virgin, beautiful girl who has a single parent and an unnaturally
skinny body. She falls in love very quickly and her only goal in life is to get married (Daedaluss,
C.). There are nine Disney Princesses that were released between the years of 1937 and 2009.
According to a study done by England D., Descartes L. and Collier Meek M. (567) all of the
Disney Princess movies portray women as having very stereotypical representation of gender.
Over time Disney s portrayal of the princesses have changed but overall there is not a lot of
improvement in regards to the portrayal of gender stereotypes (England, Descartes Collier Meek ,
568). These stereotypes have given young girls misunderstandings about how a woman should
look and behave. The first Disney princess was Snow White from Snow White and the Seven
dwarves released in 1937. Snow White portrays the image as young, innocent and pure. She only
lives with her evil stepmother and her loves doing housework (Daedaluss). She is not

As the head physician at Johns Hopkins University Center Infirmary, I must inform you of an
urgent matter regarding the presence of four different diseases that hold the potential for an
outbreak on your campus. These four diagnosed diseases are meningococcal disease, Epstein Barr
virus, streptococcal pharyngitis, and influenzavirus B. Currently, nine students are independently
affected by one of these illnesses and if the campus does not take precaution immediately, the
number of infected students can quickly double within a day.
Found to be the most prevalent disease of the four, meningococcal disease, also known as bacterial
meningitis, was diagnosed in four of the campus students. It was first diagnosed by DNA

The second disease was the Epstein Barr virus, which is also known as mononucleosis, that infected
two students on campus. For diagnosis, DNA sequencing through BLAST was also used to detect
the pathogen s existence in one of the patients. However, since the laboratory was unable to obtain
a sample from the second patient, the clinic deduced their infection by determining their
relationships. The symptoms that accompany this illness include a fever, sore throat, headaches,
fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes. Since the pathogen, Human herpesvirus 4 (HHV 4), for
mononucleosis is a virus, the patients were instructed to rest and antiviral medications were
prescribed. Antiviral drugs, unlike antibiotics, function similarly to pain killers as the viruses
cannot be targeted and destroyed the way that bacteria can, therefore, advising that the patients rest
and recover allows for their immune system to gradually fight off the viral infection. As the
pathogen is able to be transmitted through bodily fluids, students are advised to avoid sharing foods
and drinks with other students and maintain overall good hygiene, which includes regularly
washing their hands.
Strep throat claimed one of the students on the campus, which was determined again through DNA
sequencing. With strep throat, individuals typically have a sore throat, fever, headaches, swollen
tonsils and/or lymph nodes, and overall body soreness. The

The Race Of American History
Who s next? It seems that the issue about race in American history never reaches an endpoint. The
intersection of race, gender, contradiction has been continually crucial to shape the identity of
minority American. As early as the first wave of Asian immigrants, Chinese immigrants, arrived in
west coast, Asian Americans was haunted by anti Asian movement and intense hostility. Foreign
Miners Tax passed in 1852 was a representative of racial campaign between whites and nonwhites.
The requirement of monthly three dollars tax intentionally crashed the earliest American Dream of
Chinese immigrants who expected to lead a better life in the US. Such Anti Asian movement was
eventually ushered into legalized level. California Supreme Court declared in People v. Hall in
1854 that Chinese migrants were not entitled to testify against the white citizens in US court based
on the fact that people, other than whites, could never enjoy the same rights as white Americans.
Since then, Asian immigrants were subjected to numerous social and legislative initiatives that
specifically targeted them on a racial basis. In David Henry Huang s semiautobiographical play
Yellow Face, he mixed his own memory and fiction to depicting an image of Asian American
racial
identity. In 1990, Hwang led a group of Asian Americans to protest the casting of a white British
actor as a Eurasian character in the musical Miss Saigon. However, later in his own play Face
Value, he mistakenly casted a white actor,

Snow Vacative Personal Narrative
The old brown snow lay on the side of the streets. A vast storm has passed Portland just a few
days ago. The weather was chilling and there was the scent of snow running through the air. Did
you get everything? my dad yelled to me. He was always sour when I pack my belongings to go on
a trip. I sat on the suitcase, trying to close it. It was as if the beast wouldn t close but finally did.
Get into the car, my mom screamed. I threw my bag into the trunk, took my seat, and we were off
to the airport. I pictured in my head how fun it will be on vacation in the Bahamas, but had *no idea
what was ahead of me.*
I hopped out of the car, grabbed my bag and ran into one of my favorite places, Portland
International Airport. My mom, dad, and I still thought of this being the best vacation of 2016. We
checked in, went through security, which was always a pain, and went to the gate. Step by step I
made my way on the plane and we were off to Denver to catch our next flight.
Inch by inch, the plane made it into Denver. I was amazed that planes can land in an inch layer
of snow. It was still pouring snow in Denver and didn t seem like it would stop. Finally, I took my
seat on the bench next to the gate eagerly waiting for the flight to go to New York which would
then take us to Bahamas.
Two hours later I hear on the intercom, The flight to New York is delayed for 1 hour. It was now
10pm and the plane was delayed for 1 hour, but I looked pass this and only saw the destination.

Nietzsche s Genealogy Of Morality
In his Genealogy of Morals, Friedrich Nietzsche examines the origins of the pervading moral
system of his time to Christian values, which elevate restraint and self denial. In his writings, Marx
attributes societal ills to capitalism and the exploitation of the working class.
Marx and Nietzsche trace depression and the modern malaise to people s inabilities to realize their
potential and act on human instinct, which can be formalized with a notion of alienation of the self,
because the constraints imposed by capitalism and Christian morality, respectively, cause
individuals to develop identities distinct from their own, so each author calls for the abandonment
of these systems. Though Marx and Nietzsche discuss different institutions and ... Show more

Since Marx argues that nearly all societal ills, including those that create self estrangement and
the modern malaise, can be traced to the capitalist mode of production, it follows that most
natural solution to these problems is the abolition of private property, which enables the
capitalist system. Marx assumes that every class struggle is a political struggle and proceeds to
argue that the overthrow of capitalism and the end of class struggle is an inherently political
endeavor (481), so Marx calls for the creation of a political party with a singular goal: the
abolition of private property (485). Abolishing private property, however, is a radical proposal and
requires many other changes, including the implementation of an income tax, abolishing
inheritance, the overhaul of the bourgeois family structure, and state control of the means of
production (490). Only via such a revolutionary process, Marx claims, can a society evolve away
from capitalism to socialism and eventually communism, wherein the problems of class struggle
and consequently the modern malaise can be

Mozart, Wofgang Amadeus
(1756 1791)
Austrian born, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was regarded to be the greatest child prodigy the
world has ever known. At age four, he heard his older sister playing a harpsichord minuet. Mozart
begged his father to let him try the piece, and by ear, he played the piece perfectly. Throughout his
life, tragedy struck. He was one of the most talented composers ever to walk the face of the earth,
yet he led a life filled with much unhappiness.
Upon traveling to Italy, Mozart fell in love with the Italian opera. One of his most famous peras is

Basso continuo, or figured bass, was purely an instrumental concept. It is music that is played by
one or more bass instruments and a keyboard instrument. Basso continuo gave bass parts an
importance of their own in all areas of ensemble music. It is one of the most distinct features of the
Baroque Era as a whole.
The third movement in the classical sonata was called the menuetto or minuet. It was written in a
moderately fast tempo, played in the tonic key, and was written in three four. The minuet had three
sections: minuet, trio, and a repeat of the minuet. In a sonata with three movements, the minuet was
left out or omitted.
In some of Haydn and in most of Beethoven s works in sonata form, the third movement was called
a scherzo. It utilized the same aspects of the minuet, but was more humorous in nature. Sometimes
the two middle movements were reversed, so that the minuet came second and the slow movement
third. In a three movement composition, the minuet or scherzo was omitted.

The Dowding System Analysis
In July 1940, the Luftwaffe, a German air force designed for strategic air attacks and bombing,
attacked Great Britain, targeting its ports, aerodromes, industries, and even London itself, lasting
until 1941. As a means for defense, the country had the Dowding System, an integrated and

information about incoming raids and directed its air force to intercept incoming enemy aircraft.
Included in this system was RDF, otherwise known as Radio Direction Finding or Radar, a new

Francisco Goya s The Third of May1808: Principles of Art Design
Great insights went into the intricate composition of Francisco Goya s painting The Third of May
1808, his painting utilizes the principles of art and design which displays all six principles: unity
and variety; emphasis; balance; rhythm and movement; perspective; and proportion and scale. All
six principles could also be identified and critically analyzed within his painting The Third of May
1808 which ultimately resulted in a whole cohesive composition.
Goya s use of the principle of art design, unity is evident as the shapes and sizes he painted in
The Third of May 1808 are easily recognizable when looking at the prisoners and soldiers, the

Canada is a country that is undergoing advancements in all regions day to day. This growth has
also changed the mentality of people towards getting married and having kids, there has been a
drastic decrease in the fertility rate of Canada during the last 100 years; furthermore, the shrinkage

their lifetime. Helping their fellow members is also an important rule to their society because it
promotes the concept of selflessness. Anthem by Ayn Randportrays three different themes that the
reader acknowledges; selflessness, order, and equality.

Individuality is not tolerated by the society because it represents inequality, which the society
does not wish to be associated with. We are nothing. Mankind is all. By the grace of our brothers
are we allowed our lives. (Rand 21). Throughout the novel, the reader starts to realize how their
society is kept equal through most of the dialogue and feelings towards the other men. Another
example of equality shown in the novel is that all of the people in the society are expected to
follow the rules and have a part in the same activities as one another. We are one in all and all in
one... only the great WE... (Rand 19). Here the reader starts to understand that their nation accepts
the purpose of their society which is to exhibit equality by treating everyone equal to the other
members. ... there is no transgression blacker than to do or think alone. (Rand 17). Readers
evaluate how the members of the society treat each other equal by acknowledging the transgression
of individuality. Their society believes that individualism is dangerous to their community which
results with everything in their life being based on plurals. For example, everyone in their society
is meant to address themselves with the pronoun we instead of I because the pronoun I represent
individuality. Everyone in this society is meant to be treated as equals and they are currently
keeping that rule in

Wildfires Informative Speech
Since August 1, 2014 over 760 fires have burned through 27,829 acres in Utah. Over 380 of
these fires are from human activity. I am writing to inform you of this major problem and to
suggest ways to prevent most wildfires from happening. Now, we can t control lighting and that
has been a huge cause of wildfires in Utah, but we still have things we can do to keep us safe, and
animals safe. I personally live in a beautiful valley that s already had two fires in the last six
months. These fires have miraculously been controlled, making it so I don t have to evacuate my
home. But many, people in Utah suffer evacuating from their homes and losing most possessions,
including their house. Now with these many sufferings from flames there is

National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is an independent federal agency provided with the
power to preserve the rights employees have to organize and to remedy violations if so called for.
In addition, the agency was tasked with the prevention of unfair labor practices committed by
private sector employers and unions. The National Industrial Recovery Act initiated the NLRB,
which protected joint bargaining rights for unions. President Franklin D. Roosevelt later established
the National Labor Board that initiated 20 regional boards that handled the massive caseload, that
later proved ineffective. Congress, soon after, stepped in and passed a public resolution that
empowered the president to choose a labor board that had the authorization... Show more content on

The board consists of five members, who act as a quasi judicial body that make decisions based
upon cases of unfair labor. The board is compromised of more than thirty regional offices that
conduct elections, investigate charges, and establish whether to dismiss, settle, or issue
complaints. The jurisdiction of the counsel s power is responsible for investigating and
prosecuting claims that suggest practices of unfair labor. The Counsel is also found to be
independent of the Board but once the Board has made a decision it becomes the General
Counsel s duty to sustain the decisions of the Board, even if the Counsel advocated towards the
opposite position. The National Labor Relations Board focuses on employees of the private sector
and the postal service. Other than these two jurisdictions the board has no authority over airline,
agricultural, governmental, or railroad employees. To be able to process charges, parties must first
file against the employer or the union with a regional office who will then examine the complaint.
If the complaint proves valid it is then taken before an Administrative Law Judge who will carry out
a hearing. Both parties must prepare their arguments and present their

Betrayal In Macbeth And The Lion King
The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from our enemies . Betrayal is defined
as the breaking or violation of a trust or confidence that produces conflict within a relationship
between individuals such as friends, family members, or team mates. The people we trust or
rely on are the ones who are capable of betraying us. By disregarding or not respecting certain
relationships with people, our sense of loyalty can be destroyed. Some acts of betrayal can result
in short term success, sometimes acts of betrayal may be the ultimate downfall of an individual. As
interpreted in both Macbeth and The Lion King, many deeds of betrayal are acted upon,
dismantling a number of relationships creating the success to be either a short term success or an
epic failure in the long term. In certain situations, we are able to gain short term success by

brother so that he can take over the royal throne of Pride Rock through the use of dramatic irony
and alliteration. His rich, manly voice scares the audience, giving them a terrified feeling that
Scar would do such a thing to his own brother. A close up of Mufasa and Scar. The camera angle

Nicaragu The Spanish Speaking Nation Of Nicaragua
In the heart of Central America lies the Spanish speaking nation of Nicaragua. Officially titled the
Republic of Nicaragua , there have been multiple stories of how the country got its name, the most
prominent story says that during the time the Spanish invaded, Nicaragua took its name from an
indigenous chief named Nicarao who was ruler of the region. Fast forwarding the history: Three
hundred years of Spanish colonialism, a hundred years of totalitarian ruling by multiple presidents ,
and thirty years of Somoza family dictatorship, Nicaraguaunderwent the Sandinista revolution in
1979 to create a socialist society. Despite socialism having a track record of failure, there was
great advancements in literacy and overall education, as well as improvement the nations GDP.
However, the 1980 s were engrossed in destructive guerilla wars and political blunder sending the
nation into a downward spiral.
Political History
Though titled as a democratic nation, the early years of Nicaragua s political ruling was taken by
tyrannical rule, namely the Somoza family who publicly used violence to silence opposition or
potential opponents. The end of their rule resulted in the creation of a constitution that ensured
political rights to the people while suppressing the power of those in power as well as setting a
limit on how long one could stay in office. Since 1987, the supreme law of the country is the The

My First Part Of The Combo
In the beginning of the year, from week one to week five, we began learning some of the
warmups and getting our body used to dance. I have never taken a dance class before so when I
first entered the classroom, I was a little intimidated. One of the first things we learned was a warm
up combination. The first part of the combo was where we had our right footgo forward, back to the
other foot, side, back to the other foot, back behind us, and then back to the original position
while clapping at the end. Then, we would repeat this process on the other side while trying to
make your body not so stiff but free flowing. Next, we repeated these two steps fastly and then
turn after your foot would return with the other foot. After that, we ran forward, lifting our arms
and right leg up neighing , and then repeated on the other side. We repeated both sides twice.
Next, we went to our right side lifting our right leg up and down on the floor while clapping
moving sideways. After a few counts, we woulds lift our arms diagonally to the floor, and fall
back to the left side. We would repeat this process on the other side as well. Additionally, we
would do the octagon with our feet going back and forward. Once that was done, we would run to
the right side and then run back to do the other side again. Lastly, we did the octagon danceagain,
running, and instead of turning back, we would go into the retire position and turn slightly to the
front of the room. Last, we would repeat on the

Potential Surrogate Indicators
The criterion for premium beers is social status. The potential surrogate indicators could include:
alcohol content, brand name, and season. Consumers could associate higher alcohol content with
higher costing beer, referring back to social status. For example, and IPA may have more alcohol
content than a light beer. Brand name can also play a factor in social status. For example, Natural
Light beer is cheap and is associated with college students, whereas a beer like Guinness is
objectively more expensive and is associated with more sophisticated drinkers.
The criterion for stereo equipment is quality. Some potential surrogate indicators could be bass,
warranty, and features. Higher quality speakers generally are associated with better bass. ... Show

Two potential surrogate indicators could be location and price. A restaurant in the heart of New
York City will be perceived as higher class compared to a restaurant off of a high way. Expensive
locations indicate high class experiences and products. Furthermore, the price of the food at the
restaurant is an indicator of social status in the sense that only upper class people may be able to
afford high class restaurants. Research found that price reliance had a marked effect in determining
perceptions of quality of ingredients (Dick 19).
The criterion for jewelry is also social status. Two potential surrogate indicators could include
price and brand. Wheatley and Chiu (1977) found that high quality was associated with a high
prestige store, and a high price. The price of jewelry indicates the quality of the product and also
indicates social status because not many people have the ability to spend thousands of dollars on
an accessory. Furthermore, if two diamonds had the same cut and clarity and one was purchased
from Kay while the other was purchased from Walmart, the diamond from Kay is perceived to be
better, based on where it was

people of the Brave New World are controlled by a Controller known as Mustapha Mond in order
to achieve Community. Community is in part a result of identity and stability (Pearce, 1998).
Every child lives together without any parents and is conditioned to feel and think the same
way as others and to fear and have the same likes and dislikes, as well as the similar beliefs as the
other residents of the New World. Community is also achieved through a religion that satirizes
Christianity. In relation to this religion, the elder residents of the New World are urged to
participate in the Solidarity Service which includes community sing that one has to attend about
once a week which makes everyone feel connected. Solitude and loneliness does not exist in Brave
New World because everyone often entertains each other. Every caste benefits each other, fulfilling

  • 2. A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess Anthony Burgess s A Clockwork Orange has been placed under much scrutiny by literary critics and readers everywhere. Furthermore, this highly criticized novel contains a myriad of ways to engage with the work, whether it is from the psychological or ethical perspective. Through College Literature Journal s article O My Brothers , the unnamed author draws interesting connections between the main character s development and how pseudo families and pseudo self plays a part on this said development. The author of this article generates an association between Alex s pseudo families who have not accomplished what families are expected to accomplish in one s life, and the way that Alex behaves because of it. So, ultimately the term of family is being applied to the broad and diverse groups of relationships that Alex has had throughout the course of the novel. This broad application results in the haziness of the term family due to the fact that all of these relationships offer diverse expectations from the individual; one would expect different things from their family, than from their friends. • 3. A Glimpse into Nineteenth Century Brazil Essay Esau and Jacob by Joaquim Machado de Assis portrays the tumultuous relationship between twin brothers, Pedro and Paulo, during the late nineteenth century; the twins symbolize the Brazilian political struggles during the transition from a monarchy to a republic. The brothers are emblematically born in 1870, at the end of the Paraguayan War, a time when the Brazilian political elite split between conservatives and reformers (xiii). The brothers fight; their most contentious arguments regard politics. Paulo is a republican and Pedrois a monarchist. The only commonalities the twins have are their love for their mother, Natividade, and their courtship of Flora. As an allegory, Natividade represents the old nation of... In 1822, Pedro I proclaimed Fico ( I am staying ) to declare Brazilian independence from Portugal; Brazil separated from Portugal and created a nation without a revolutionary war. In 1889, Marshal Deodoro de Fonseca declared Brazil a republic without firing a shot. Brazil s bloodless history is extraordinary, especially compared to the gory political upheavals in Spanish Latin America. Mexico, for example, endured a ten year revolutionary war in which 10% of the population was killed and another 10% emigrated before the Porfirian dictatorship was ousted and a semi democratic state was formed. Despite the relative peacefulness of the Brazilian revolution, chapter LXIII ( The New Sign ) finds CustГіdio, the teashop owner, agonizing about the name of his teashop. The teashop s original name is Confietaria do ImpГ©rio, however the day after the monarchy collapses, CustГіdio fears revolutionary mobs will ransack his shop because of the teashop s association with the old regime. Exploring the Reasons for Differences in Educational Achievement Between Different Ethnic Groups I believe that this is an important issue to consider as research has shown that whilst Afro Caribbean males are at the very bottom in terms of achievement, West Indian females tend to do even better than white females at GCSE. Following his research he found that the word white is associated with good and the word black with evil , especially in children s books. Furthermore he noted that books often only contain white people and black music, art and culture are absent from the curriculum. Shortly before the ninth century, North west Europe was exposed to raids and attacks from the Scandinavians. As time went on, during the course of the ninth century, the leaders of the attacks on these countries grew more ambitious and soon there were different motives for raiding these places. Neural Communication Everything we do is a product of neural communication, whether that be reacting to senses or feeling emotions, it is all due to us having neural communication through millions of neurons passing small electrical signals throughout the body through such pathways as the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system and passing information to and from the brain. These neurons are made up of Dendrites which are connected to a cell body, or also known as the soma, these are tree like feathery filament message receivers that collect these messages from other neurons it is connected to, neurons are connected through a dendrite to axon terminal connections and pass these messages through the body as action potentials. Cullington argues that texting does not affect a students writing. Textspeak, the abbreviation and shortening of words like used when writinga text message, does affect the way a student writes because they use the abbreviations, and their writings tend to lack punctuation. Textspeak is a dangerous way to write, and once a writer learns and gets used to writing that way, writing papers for school becomes more and more difficult. The Effects Of Physical Abuse On Child Abuse The United States has been fighting the war against child abuse since the first case of child abuse in 1874 that included a child being beaten and chained against her will (Meadows, 2014). Many people hear the words child abuse and think of physical abuse. While, many people are correct in thinking of physical abuse, an Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) study done by the CDC shows that although physical abuse is the leading form of child abuse, emotional or psychological abuseis the second leading form of child abuse (2014). Although one would think sexual abuse along with physical abuse would be the prominent form of abuse, this is not the case. One of the major reasons emotional neglect is more prominent than sexual abuse is due to the fact that emotional abuse is not being overlooked as often as it used to. In fact, it is now being seen as the gateway to physical and sexual abuse (Garbarino, Guttman, Seeley, 1988). The amounts of consequences that come from being abused as a child are countless as well as life changing, some of these life changing effects were identified by the CDC as drug abuse, sexual transmitted diseases, suicidal thoughts, and difficulty learning (2014). When a child who has been abused begins school they approach the classroom setting, similar to a dog that has been abused by its owner approaches other humans, the child approaches the classroom with a skeptical attitude (Fink, A. However, overuse and misuse of power and control in a society eliminates the freedom of the residents, forbidding them to live an ordinary life. In the dystopic futuristic novel, The Handmaid s Tale, Margaret Atwood demonstrates the idea of power and control through the oppressive society Gilead. The government establishes power and control with the Wall, the Salvagings, and military control. As well, the government s unique use of the Aunts and Red Centres demonstrates the unfair oppression and indoctrination of the women and potential Handmaids within the society. This may not seem ordinary to you now, but after a time it will. It will become ordinary (Atwood 33). This proves that Gilead can transform the natural human response of fear into blankness. Oppression and torture become accepted because the Handmaids eventually become used to these ideas. The Aunts brainwash the Handmaids into gradually accepting this new way of life. Once the Handmaids accept this way of life, it truly shows the persuasive nature of the Aunts and the power both they and the government hold over the Handmaids. An example of the Aunts brainwashing the Handmaids is when the Aunts make them believe and accept that Janine was responsible her gang rape. Offred describes the persuasive nature of the Aunts to the reader: But whose fault was it? Aunt Helena says, holding up one plump finger. Her fault, her fault, her fault, we chant in unison. Teach her a lesson (Atwood 72). This instruction and repetition the Aunts use demonstrates the inequality and imbalance between them and the Handmaids, who they are teaching to submit and behave. The Aunts also help to establish power and control with fear and intimidation. Before landing our pilot did a little overview of the ocean and Florida, even though we couldn t see, the lights from Florida looked amazing! When we got off the plane and everyone was tired at 2:00 in the morning and we got our rental car and headed off to the hotel. Of course we jumped in bed when we got there and slept until morning. The first day in Florida was really exciting for me because I ve never been there and it was a first time experience with Florida. We went to go get breakfastand I saw the lady that was on the plane with me there! After breakfast we decided to meet up with family that stayed in Florida and we went to some shops and explored around the city. The weather in Florida was kind of chilly that day so we didn t get to do much. After that we went to go eat, then went back to the hotel. At the hotel we all decided to go out to the pool. There are many features about these characters that make them so loved however after careful analysis is becomes obvious that these are not the kinds of characters children should be idolizing. Many young girls spend a large amount of their life wanting to be a princess but Disney s portrayal of princesses makes this not seem so desirable. A princess according to Disney is a young, virgin, beautiful girl who has a single parent and an unnaturally skinny body. She falls in love very quickly and her only goal in life is to get married (Daedaluss, C.). There are nine Disney Princesses that were released between the years of 1937 and 2009. According to a study done by England D., Descartes L. and Collier Meek M. (567) all of the Disney Princess movies portray women as having very stereotypical representation of gender. Over time Disney s portrayal of the princesses have changed but overall there is not a lot of improvement in regards to the portrayal of gender stereotypes (England, Descartes Collier Meek , 568). These stereotypes have given young girls misunderstandings about how a woman should look and behave. The first Disney princess was Snow White from Snow White and the Seven dwarves released in 1937. The second disease was the Epstein Barr virus, which is also known as mononucleosis, that infected two students on campus. For diagnosis, DNA sequencing through BLAST was also used to detect the pathogen s existence in one of the patients. However, since the laboratory was unable to obtain a sample from the second patient, the clinic deduced their infection by determining their relationships. The symptoms that accompany this illness include a fever, sore throat, headaches, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes. Since the pathogen, Human herpesvirus 4 (HHV 4), for mononucleosis is a virus, the patients were instructed to rest and antiviral medications were prescribed. Antiviral drugs, unlike antibiotics, function similarly to pain killers as the viruses cannot be targeted and destroyed the way that bacteria can, therefore, advising that the patients rest and recover allows for their immune system to gradually fight off the viral infection. As the pathogen is able to be transmitted through bodily fluids, students are advised to avoid sharing foods and drinks with other students and maintain overall good hygiene, which includes regularly washing their hands. Strep throat claimed one of the students on the campus, which was determined again through DNA sequencing. With strep throat, individuals typically have a sore throat, fever, headaches, swollen tonsils and/or lymph nodes, and overall body soreness. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As early as the first wave of Asian immigrants, Chinese immigrants, arrived in west coast, Asian Americans was haunted by anti Asian movement and intense hostility. Foreign Miners Tax passed in 1852 was a representative of racial campaign between whites and nonwhites. The requirement of monthly three dollars tax intentionally crashed the earliest American Dream of Chinese immigrants who expected to lead a better life in the US. Such Anti Asian movement was eventually ushered into legalized level. California Supreme Court declared in People v. Since then, Asian immigrants were subjected to numerous social and legislative initiatives that specifically targeted them on a racial basis. In his writings, Marx attributes societal ills to capitalism and the exploitation of the working class. Marx and Nietzsche trace depression and the modern malaise to people s inabilities to realize their potential and act on human instinct, which can be formalized with a notion of alienation of the self, because the constraints imposed by capitalism and Christian morality, respectively, cause individuals to develop identities distinct from their own, so each author calls for the abandonment of these systems. Since Marx argues that nearly all societal ills, including those that create self estrangement and the modern malaise, can be traced to the capitalist mode of production, it follows that most natural solution to these problems is the abolition of private property, which enables the capitalist system. Marx assumes that every class struggle is a political struggle and proceeds to argue that the overthrow of capitalism and the end of class struggle is an inherently political endeavor (481), so Marx calls for the creation of a political party with a singular goal: the abolition of private property (485). Abolishing private property, however, is a radical proposal and requires many other changes, including the implementation of an income tax, abolishing inheritance, the overhaul of the bourgeois family structure, and state control of the means of production (490). Additionally, we would do the octagon with our feet going back and forward. Once that was done, we would run to the right side and then run back to do the other side again. Lastly, we did the octagon danceagain, running, and instead of turning back, we would go into the retire position and turn slightly to the front of the room. Last, we would repeat on the ...
