An advanced practice nurse must be able to conduct spiritual assessments of patients and provide spiritual care. Spirituality is distinct from religion and refers to how patients find meaning and connection. Nurses should build rapport with patients to have respectful conversations about spirituality to understand what gives their lives meaning. This allows nurses to provide more holistic care for patients. Humility is an important virtue for nurses, but it is difficult to define and measure. Some research has examined how participating in humble acts, like washing patients' feet, can strengthen relationships between nurses and patients.

They identify that nurses should practice to the full extent of their education and training, achieve higher levels of education through an improved educational system, gain rights as full partners with physicians and other health care professionals and require effective workforce planning and policy making through better data collection and an improved information infrastructure.
Throughout my career, I will directly be addressing these main points as I work to achieve and work with full practice autonomy. I recently moved from Maryland, which is one of 28 states that allow nurse practitioners full practice authority to treat and prescribe without formal oversight (Weiland, 2015). This report calls all advanced practice nurses to practice to their full extent, meaning we should implement all necessary and appropriate interventions within our scope of practice as defined by the American Nurses Association. In Maryland, this is an expected outcome in my daily practice where I use my full power to treat patients for the optimal health outcomes. Another area I will strongly indulge in is the necessity for continuing education. As a health care professional, we take on the role of a lifetime learner as we continue to learn best practices and evidence-based practice updates that form as time goes on. Health care is an everchanging field and staying up to date on your education and health understandings can be the difference between patient outcomes. We have a professional duty to our patients to learn everything we possibly can to make the best decisions when developing a plan of care for our patients who expect nothing but competent care. Overall, these nursing reports do a phenomenal job of outlining how nurses in advanced roles can best prepare themselves to provide optimal patient care and how to protect the health of the community through policies and best practices.

Overall, individuals exist lengthier, a growing ultimatum for well-being care. Many chronic illnesses that were previously fatal are now treatable (Mar et al., 2019). The baby boom generation is still at a stage where they might need more medical attention as society ages. They make an invaluable contribution to the transformation of the health care system to provide better customer experience in health care institutions. The changes in the American society including demographic changes, technologic progress, and the progress in the area of policy-making to provide access to the health care services to all suggests that the roles of the ANPs will continue to evolve and gain more significance in society. Effective functioning of health care system in contemporary conditions is impossible without the contribution made by nurse practitioners, nurse informaticists, nurse educators, and nurse administrators. This final paper aims to summarize the information learned during this course concerning the significance of advanced practice nursing roles, legislative regulations that control their scope of practice, and their contribution in the area of policy-making related to health care.

Advanced nursing practice is a growing specialty in the nursing profession with the broad scope of practice. APNs work in a variety of fields and settings, including both clinical and non-clinical ones (Sun et al., 2015). These specialists engage in both direct and indirect patient care, and can become essential members of managerial teams or start their own business in family practice.
There are multiple roles in the advanced nursing practice including nurse practitioners, nurse educators, nurse administrators, and nurse informaticists. The advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) employed in clinical practice are the certified nurse-midwife (CNM), clinical nurse specialist (CNS), certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), and nurse practitioner (NP) (Melnyk, Gallagher‐Ford, Long, & Fineout‐Overholt, 2014). All these clinical specialists are focused on patient care quality improvement and patient outcomes facilitation (Melnyk et al., 2014). As for the difference between APN and ANP, from the information above, it can be seen that the APN is a broader concept meaning the whole specialty of advanced practice nursing, and the ANP is a more specific concept describing the specialty of nurse practitioners employed in the clinical field.

Family nurse practitioner (FNP) is my specialty. A family nurse practitioner can be defined as a registered nurse who has specialized clinical and educational training in family unit. FNPs work autonomously or collaborating with other health professionals to deliver family-focused care. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research.
