Executive Desk Information About Physical Fitness Test
Directors Desk information about physical fitness test study Correctional Officers are an
integral part of ADC completing the mission. The selection process used to select Correctional
Officer has recently been transformed through the ongoing LEAN process. In the spirit of
continuous improvement, the agency has examined the physical fitness selection tool used to
assess CO applicants and Cadets ability to perform the job of Correctional Officer. The agency
entered into an agreement with a private firm, Industrial Onsite Network (ION), to conduct an
analysis of the current physical fitness standards used in the Correctional Officer selection and
training process and how well they correlate to the actual tasks that CO s perform on a daily
basis. The standards that are currently used in the hiring process and COTA graduation were
implemented after a similar study that was completed in 1991. Since that study was completed
in 1991, many changes have occurred in the Correctional field. Advancements have occurred not
only with the technology we use in our field of work, such as electronic gates and doors, but also
in the medical/physical and testing fields. Legal requirements to test for only ability to perform
job job related tasks have been reconsidered and opinions of experts and government oversight
agencies such as EEOC about what determines a job related test have changed. The ION group is a

An Evaluation Of Conventional And Renewable Energy Sources
An evaluation of conventional and renewable energy sources in the UK 1. Introduction As the most
important type of energy, invented in the 1870s, the electricity has dominated the energy world for
more than one hundred year. The invention and application of electricity contributed to the second
peak of industrialization, which is undoubtedly one of the three science and technology revolutions
within human history since the 18th century. Subsequently, technology has changed human s life
when the large scale power system emerged in the 20th century. As one of the most remarkable
achievements in the history of science and human engineering, the large scale power system
consists of power generation, transmission, substation, power distribution and utilization. These
individual elements are combined together to form a vast, complicated and dynamic system which
is competent to generate, transmit, and distribute electricity over a large geographical area (Padiyar
2008). Regarding the different components of power system, this essay concentrates on the most
essential stage of power system generation, (Padiyar 2008) with theoretical and numeral examples
illustrated. Different resources are used for power generation with various techniques utilizing the
advantages of the electrical sources. Precisely, conventional fossil fuels are reliable and productive
and renewable sources are clean and relatively infinite in terms of electricity generation. Normally,

Reasons And Results Of The Civil War
Reasons and Results of the Civil War
The Civil War was a very critical event in American History. It started by many disagreements
between the North and the South. For blacks as for other Americans, the Civil War was a strong
voice preaching the needs for devotion and allegiance to form a justified nation. After the war ended
there were many results that would forever linger throughout America and the world. The South
was known as the Confederate States of America, seceded from the North, which was known as the
Union. The seceding of the South was because of four decades of intense sectional differences and
conflicts between both South and North. The secession of the Southern states was not an instinctive
act. Situations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand the South wanted to withhold all undetermined powers to the individual states
and to withhold all these projects. The predominant issue why the South seceded was the
slavery issue. The South wanted and called for slavery and would do anything they could to
keep it. Cold heartedly the slaves were items and if taken away would put a huge dent in
investments towards Southerners. The value to the slaveholding planter class was
immeasurable. Northerners demanded for collective bargaining to develop goals such as free
education, better salaries and working conditions for workers, and better rights for woman.
Northerners said that slavery revoked the rights of a human to be a free person. The subject of
slavery left, and the North headed for war and eventually defeated the South in the Civil War.
Without this war I sorely would have to say that we could have been in a much more segregated
society than we already are. This war was needed in order to produce a stronger and more stable
country for everyone.
Slavery was abolished in the Union during Abraham Lincoln s presidency. Lincoln called it
Emancipation Proclamation. This movement was definitely a day of awakening for America as a
whole, which finally realized what free meant. All the Southern states would soon rejoin the Union.
After the war concluded

Sweetheart of the Song of Tra Bong as Metaphor Essay
Sweetheart of the Song of Tra Bong as Metaphor
The Vietnam War is a strange and unexplainable event in American history. The controversies
surrounding the American involvement in Vietnam and the need for Vietnam veterans to tell their
stories of the war are prevalent in the post Vietnam culture of America. The stories that will last
forever are those that swirl back and forth across the border between trivia and bedlam, the mad and
the mundane (89). The story of the sweetheart of the Song of Tra Bong explains this quote of the
veteran stories never make exact sense, but they are stories from a war that never quite made exact
sense either. The story of Sweetheart of the Song of Tra Bong, involving a young girl coming to

Fine with me. But you don t know human nature. You don t know Nam (97). This is a story about
the development of human nature and accepting the changes of a rite of passage.
Mary Anne adjusted to the life in Vietnam, as did the soldiers that were there, and as time
progressed she began to enjoy or get a thrill out of being in Vietnam. I mean when we first got
here all of us we were real young and innocent, full of romantic bullshit, but we learned pretty
damn quick. And so did Mary Anne, (97). The learning curve in war is quickened by the fact
that it is a matter of life or death when you are working in a war, and it did not matter who you
were the you quickly learned how to operate in a battle field. Mary Anne did not fit in a first and
did not know or understand her role in the war, and just like the fresh soldiers coming from
America did know or understand their role in the war. As the soldiers, as well as Mary Anne,
begin to realize the realities of the war they move their focus away from their homes in America
and begin to focus on the work that needed to be accomplished in Vietnam. The physical changes
that occur to Mary Anne as she begins to be assimilated into the Vietnam War are like night and
day. She came as your typical American girl, but then becomes a fighting soldier looking and
anticipating ugly war

Special Education Assignment
Working with students with special needs, as teachers, we need to protect our students right.
Special education teachers are required to keep high standards and meet best practices. According
to the Preliminary Credential Competency Checklist Historical and Legal Foundation 1.4 (2014),
two of the best practices that are enforced in the special educationfield is to individualize education

teacher is to verify each students learning is being meet. Individualizing a lesson by making
accommodiations or modification for them to learn the curriculum. Implementing evidence based
practice is using an educational method of learning that will support the students learning based on
previous research that has been completed. Using evidence based practice in a special education
classroom is a key component when a student or students need an intervention to support them in
the academic area they are struggling. Special education teachers are responsible of meeting best

Cons Of Cultural Relativism
I. Description
Cultural relativism is the concept that morality is based upon culture, [...] there are sometimes
differing moral standards and practices in various cultures (Hollinger, 2002, Kindle Locations 212
218). Morals are not universal, practices are accepted or rejected by the individual culture and
change as the culture changes.
II. Critique
A. Pros of Cultural Relativism
1. Cultural relativism gives one a license to believe what they desire. They find a culture that suits
their desires. Where they can remain unaffected by beliefs of the outside world.
2. As relative, by its very nature, implies flexibility people are drawn to formulate values from the
flexibility. 3. A culture s truth is their own, thereby creating their... Show more content on

Cons of Cultural Relativism
1. Numerous value systems muddy the water and eventually dilutes morality as a whole. This
approach prevents the internal dimension of our personal relationship with God. Our outward
expression of the inward spirituality, the external dimension, is unattainable as we are not able to
have a personal relationship with God without his moral system.
2. Morality assessments are typically based on a personal value system leaving little room for
cultural diversity. The internal dimension is to be free of judgment and the external dimension is to
love one another. If so, this requires cultures to be tolerant of all other cultures.
3. Relativism rejects universal morals. It does not acknowledge the basic principle of the external
dimension, practiced morals from a Godly value system. That Godly value system can only come
from the internal dimension.
4. A cultural moral system is accepted by those within their own culture. The culture does not
concern itself with outside acceptance. Weakness in both the internal and external Christian
framework is prevalent in this mindset. The culture models behavior without concern of
consequences. This is opposite of what God modeled to mankind and what the Bible

Market share
Market share is defined as companies sales as a percentage of total sales volume in a specific
industry, market or product area. In the local region, Qantas managed to outweigh its competitor
by gaining a toll of 65% compared to its competitor. Evidently this shows Qantas is the number
one preferred airlines compared to other competitor airlines like Virgin, Tiger Airways and
Emirates airlines. However the situation is not the same in South East Asian region as Qantas
only managed to obtain about 15% of market share compared to likes of Air Asia who leads the
market share with 60% in this region. Conversely, this is not a concern for the airlines as the
airlines managed to generate revenue of 5 billion dollars, with a predicted passenger growth of
4.9% which is equivalent to 2.9 billion passengers by 2034.

Saudi s In Bikinis Analysis
We as humans have always been fearful of the unknown, as well as what we do not comprehend.
In result of this, humanity has developed the tendency of antagonizing beliefs and concepts
foreign to one s own. This becomes problematic when exposed to an abnormal surrounding or
idea. When Christopher Columbus had voyaged across the ocean, people began to fear he and his
crew would plummet of the edge of the world. Despite being told otherwise, we let our own
ignorance dictate our definition of what is good and bad for us and others. This becomes apparent
through written literature. The article Saudi s in Bikinis, by Nicholas D. Kristof, perfectly
represents the action of antagonizing the misunderstood. It is undeniable that the United States and

Theme Of War In A Separate Peace
The beginning of a friendship is the beginning of keenness, jealousy, and often times hatred. One
may become naive in the course of friendship and never realize by the end that a friend may
become an enemy. In A Separate Peace by John Knowles this is just the case, a friendship that
consists of two complete polar opposites, Gene and Finny, one athletic the other a brainiac. Gene
and Finny go to Devon School and through thick and thin these two have stuck together, however
during the summer into junior year their relationship hits some turbulence. John Knowlesembodies
the reality of warwithin the relationship of Gene and Finny, as well as, how the fear of war,
surroundings of war, and violence can affect several relationships.

a blurred line between what was good and what was meant to be good, but ended with major
consequences. Knowles here draws a point that conflicts in oneself can affect what is occurring
externally, because of ignorance the consequences extended beyond reach.
Furthermore, Gene does not simply see Finny as a friend but a partner in crime. Finny trapped me
again in his strongest trap, that is, I suddenly became his collaborator ( Knowles 1959). Gene and
Finny are allies, it is them against the rest of the world, Knowles is highlighting the fact that
although these two are friends Finny can manipulate Gene in any which way he chooses making
them moreso enemies. Gene is blinded by Finny s wit and charming manner, but the surroundings
in Devon have an equally heavy effect on their relationship. ii. Devon School is surrounded by

Similarities Between Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
Man or Monster: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Degeneracy was not just confined to the lower classes,
criminals, and other dregs of society, but applicable to the upper class as well. Jekyll was a well
renowned doctor, but he still grew impatient of having to be morally upright all the time. He
seeks to rid himself of these burdens by releasing his Other self. According to Jekyll s narration,
both he and Hyde existed before the discovery of the salt that enabled them to become seperate: I
learned to recognise the thorough and primitive duality of man; I saw that, of the two natures
that contended in the field of my consciousness, even if I could rightly be said to be either, it was
only because I was radically both (Stephenson 49). Man is not truly one, but truly two, Jekyll
relates, appearing to support the theory suggesting that each brain hemisphere might house a
separate personality, indeed, a separate soul (Stevenson 48). The dual hemisphere theory states
that the left side of the brain is the rational side while the right side can be described as the
instinctual, chaotic side. [O]ne would have to argue . . . that Jekyll would tend to focus his

Flexible
The Imagination Playscape features different shaped parts which can be used as a variety of things,
allowing children to creatively design and build structures. One child may use a particular part for
one purpose, while another may imagine it as something different. Furthermore, the holes in
some of the parts can be used for different purposes. They may be used as a way to join pieces
together, as a window or even as a way for young children to easily move them around. All the
furniture except for the large tiered seating is easy to move, though some children may need
assistance from an adult, allowing the space to be flexible.
Sense of Community
The seating located around the room allow a place for adults to sit. Some of the seating is low
enough that adults can engage with the children without having to sit on the floor. The large area
ensures that there is enough space for both adults and children to create together. Though the
limited number of loose parts can be seen as a disadvantage, it can also foster a sense of
community when two groups of children must share or trade to get the piece they want.
Constructiveness
The space allows for children to work collaboratively with both other children and adults.
Imagination Playscape is a place where children s knowledge and ideas can be built upon by
interacting with others. One child may have an idea and other child helps them execute it
effectively, or an adult may provide assistance.

The Indelibility Of The Past In The Mayor Of Casterbridge...
In the Mayor of Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy shows how one man s mistakes can impact the rest
of his life. The two themes I found most significant in The Mayor of Casterbridge are honesty
and the indelibility of the past. In order to fully study these themes and their effects on our
protagonist s life, we must start where his story begins. Mr. Henchard, our story s namesake, has
committed a grievous sin by drunkenly auctioning off his wife and child. This is not the first
time he has made an abusive action against Susan, as evidenced by her line, I ve lived with thee
a couple of years and had nothing but temper! (Hardy 13). Evidently their relationship is
incredibly flawed if Michael could not put to rest his alcoholism and anger issues for the sake of
his wife and child. He takes action against his alcohol issues by vowing never to touch strong
liquor for the next twenty years. However, it is too late for his marriageand the damage has already
been done. The place of women in Henchard s life ties deeply into the indelibility of the past.
When we meet him again, he has not only become the most successful hay trusser in the town, but
has also become the mayor. Henchard s reformed behavior shows results, but it isn t enough to
break him from his curse of bad interpersonal relationships. For one thing, he has made
commitments to another woman who caught feelings for him and got in trouble for messing with
him, and he felt he owed her something. While this story

These components are vital to be considered before you can choose what procedure to use to
evacuate the spray painting.
Most spray painting is done by utilising spray paint, yet a few vandals utilize markers, stickers, or
other types of paints to ruin the property of other people. Every material and spray painting process
requires a specific method for removal, which changes relying upon the surface and the paint used.
With the exception of paint, spray painting evacuation materials can t be found in shops or
different hardware stores. If you want them, then you need to place special order from suppliers
and quite frequently, these are just sold in wholesale in urban areas, where professional graffiti
removal services buy them in bulk.
A common method used by many homeowners to remove graffiti is by doing painting over it. This
is a simple, normally cheap approach to evacuate spray painting. Just paint over the zone ruined
with spray painting in smooth, even strokes, and you re ready. This technique is additionally more
secure than utilising harsh chemical solvents to evacuate spray

The Importance Of Voting For A Candidate For Office
One of the most critical ways that individuals can affect governmental decision making is voting.
Voting is a formal expression of preference for a candidate for office or for a resolution of an
issue. Voting takes place in the context of a large scale national or regional election, however, local
and community electionscan be just as poignant to individual participation in government. Every
Australian citizen who is aged 18 years or more can vote in a federal electionif validly enrolled and
not disqualified from voting. Political participation is the basis of democracyand a vital part of the
right to vote . Australia s constitution has framed the progressive democracy Australia has become,
however there is debate on the derivation of this right to vote and on the extent of the protection of
that right. The right is not constitutional at all, instead being governed by international treaty
obligations and commonwealth legislation. The right to vote has been defined as the right to cast a
ballot in an election. However, in order to fulfil the democratic objective of representative
government, modern definitions require that the vote cast is effective, that each individual may
only vote a single time and that franchise is equal. Further, the right must have legal prevalence in
order to prevent its erosion through legislation.
The right to vote is set out in Section 41 of the Australian Constitution (Cth) and states No adult

2/15/12 DBQ: World War II The Road to War
During the early 1920 s many people thought that peace had finally been reached. However, in the
late 1920 s and throughout the 1930 s, they realized that they were wrong. Dictators came into
power in countries that were displeased with the results of World War I
. Germany, Italy and Japan
wanted power, so they took aggressive action that not even The League of Nations could stop.
British Prime Minister Chamberlain thought that the best way to deal with Hitler was by following
a policy of appeasement, but not everybody agreed with him. That is why the causes of World War

Comparing Frankenstein, Aylmer, and Dr. Phillips Essay...
Comparing Frankenstein, Aylmer, and Dr. Phillips
Authors Mary Shelly, Nathaniel Hawthorne and John Steinbeck have all created scientists in at
least one piece of their work. Mary Shelly s character Frankenstein, from her novel Frankenstein, is
a man who is trying to create life from death. Aylmer, the main character in Nathaniel Hawthornes
short story The Birthmark, is a scientist who is trying to rid his wife of a birthmark on her almost
perfect complexion. In John Steinbeck s The Snake the main character Dr. Phillips is attempting to
mate starfish until a woman interrupts his work to buy a snake. While written in different times by
very different authors who have varying knowledge in science, the three characters ... Show more

Both scientists seem crazy and have a God Complex. Frankenstein states, A new species would
bless me as its creator and source; many happy and excellent natures would owe their being to
me (pg 155). They both attempt to undo God s work. Aylmer and Frankenstein worked
relentlessly on their experiments, completely disregarded the outside world and allowing no
one in while they worked. To Aylmer, his experiment was everything to him, it meant more to
him than his wife and therefore he had the ability to control her for the sake of his experiment.
Frankenstein spent his whole life trying to run away from his experiment, it controlled him.
Neither of them had any forethought and because of that, their subjects suffered. Aylmer and
Frankenstein exhibit similar qualities and at the same time show how very different they are.
John Steinbeck s character Dr. Phillips is a very different from the other two scientists but he
still shares some similar qualities. Like Frankenstein, Dr. Phillips shows how careless he is with
his work by missing a series of tests with mating starfish because he was busy watching the
woman watch her snake eat a rat in his laboratory. There was a woman in Dr. Phillips life too,
just like in Aylmer s. But in Dr. Phillips s case the woman controlled him and she was more
important to him than his experiment. He thought she was repulsive at first, but once she leaves for

Essay On Improved As A Writer
How I Have Improved as a Writer Ever since I started attending Mrs.Kigar s 1st hour Senior
Comp. class, my writing skills have expanded into a new level. I learned a lot about writing for
example; before this class I had never heard of parallelism and didn t know the impact it had on
writing. Another part of my stylistic learning was learning about transitions, semicolons, commas,
and apostrophes. I also wrote almost every different style of papertoo which really helps in
improving the ability to write. One thing I have improved on is using sophisticated vocabulary
in my papers. For example, from my compare and contrast paper I wrote I said, The boxer engine

a prime example of sophisticated vocabulary use in my papers. Dashes have come to be very

The writing ability of me, Jack Consolla, has improved quite well throughout the semester. I have

Are Hacksaws As Productive As Band Saws
1.Does the force or torque in drilling change as the hole depth increases? Explain. How then, would
you then change the feeds and speeds as the hole depth increases?
Generally, as the hole depth increases, the force or torque in drilling also increases because as the
depth increases, the surface contact area will also increase which increases the required force to drill
the hole. Therefore, it increases the required torque. As the hole depth increase, the feed and speed
reduce because the drill experience higher stress as the depth increase compared to the stress at
shallow holes. These stresses caused torque to increase with the increasing chances of failure. So,
to compensate the chances of failure, the feeds and speed needed to be reduced. ... Show more

If inserts are used in a drill bit, the temperature of the inserts will be high so, the shank material is
very important to remove heat from inserts. Similarly, thermal expansion coefficients of insert and
shank material need to be matching to avoid any thermal stresses. The feed marks left on the work

Family and the General Systems Theory
The word family can be defined in many ways. When I think of the word family, I think of two or
more individuals who are sometimes related by blood or through a strong bond of unconditional
love, as well as, a shared experience, values, responsibilities, the law, even related through a
community. Different families view themselves in different ways. They have different roles, have
certain boundaries or rules, communicate and solve problems in a different way, and can adjust to
change differently. I will discuss my own familyand how I view my family through the lens of the
General Systems theoryand apply each central property as it contains to my family and how we
communicate. There are six significant properties within the General systems theory,
wholeness, interdependence, boundaries and openness, hierarchies and subsystems, calibration
and feedback, and lastly there is equifinality. I consider family to be two or more people.
Everywhere I go I usually look at the family as a circle instead of seeing them each as an
individual person. I look at a family as a circle because they all are bonded in some sort of way.
Wholeness could be thought of as a circle, because a circle can be defined as one whole figure.
Many times a family view themselves as one whole figure or wholeness. Wholeness is defined as
the way the family view themselves. The family unit has a personality that is shaped by the
combination of each members (Turner). No one can truly understand a family

After doing some research over Marie and Pierre Curie I was able to put together this paper. This
paper contains information about the life of Pierre and Marie Curie and their significance to
physics and science in general. Pierre and Marie Curie are best known for their pioneering work in
the study of radioactivity. The couple s work led to their discovery of the elements radiumand
polonium (Dick). Pierre Curie was born on May 15, 1859. He was born in Paris, France. Pierre s
parents were Eugene Curie and Sophie Claire Depoully Curie. Pierre had one older brother,
Jacques Curie. Eugene was a scientist who gave up his dreams of a scientific career in order to

Unsurprisingly, the two brothers began to experiment together. Their work led to the discovery
of piezoelectricity which is the electric polarization caused by compression or expansion of
crystals in a specific direction (Bailey). The brothers conducted more experiments to further
study the new phenomenon. They also learned that crystals are compressed when an electric
field is applied. Alternating currents could make the crystals vibrate at high ultrahigh
frequencies. Today s sound equipment is based in this phenomenon. The piezoelectric quartz
balance was invented by Pierre and Jacques. Their invention made the way for modern quartz
watches and radio transmitters (Bailey). Years later Pierre took up a new job at the School of
Industrial Physics and Chemistry in Paris. When Pierre first started teaching he wasn t much
older than his students. He struggled to make new friends due to his shy and reserved nature.
However, after working closely with him, Pierre s students came to admire and respect him
(Bailey). Pierre pursued his own studies when he wasn t teaching. Within the first couple of years
of teaching he published two papers on crystallography. He didn t have his own laboratory in which
to work, and at the institution space and equipment was scarce. During his off hours, Pierre would
sometimes use students laboratories or set up his equipment in the hallway (Bailey). Later,

Persuasive Essay About Soccer
Soccer, also known as football is a sport played by millions all around the world. This is not only
a sport, but an activity available to anyone that offers valuable life lessons to those who play.
Lessons and skills such as leadership and teamwork, determination, and friendships are a few
that I have gotten out of playing soccer. Many people view soccer as a waste of two and a half
hours because the game becomes repetitive and predictable. The start off of the game is as
follows, one team starts with possession of the ball with the intention is to score a goal, while
keeping it away from the other team and vice versa. Watching the sport may seem boring to those
who do not play because they don t understand it. People who don t play soccer do not realize the
amount of time and effort it takes to excel in this sport, which comes down to the time spent
practicing and conditioning. The more hours spent on footwork and physical conditioning, the
better you become. This sport can be extremely physical, but it is also a mental game. It is
important to be in the right mental state during a game because distraction in the head leads to
mistakes on the field. A strong mental state is extremely important in soccer, as well as every day.
The ability to multitask proves to be an advantage in the game; when a player has the ball, they
need to continue to move, look for open teammates on the field, and maneuver around the opposing
team simultaneously. People who understand this sport can

The Pactice of Management
The practice of management is very ancient, however the formal study of management is
comparatively new. Management as a proper discipline developed after the tip of the nineteenth
century. Nevertheless it should be admitted that management has been in existence since
humankind became systematized into formal groups. It is very difficult to come up with a
definition of managementwhich could totally satisfy all professionals or skilled people or all
management theorists. For a broad operating definition consider management as an activity that
performs certain functions to obtain the effective acquisition, allocation, and utilization of human
efforts and physical resources to accomplish some goal (Wren 2005, p. 3). Modern management has
grown with the growth of social economics and scientific institution. Nowadays workers do not
work only for money. They work for satisfaction and happiness with sensible living style. These are
the most vital issues now. Modern management explanation (of why something works or happens
the way it does) refers to highlighting the use of well thought out mathematical ways of doing
things within the system with analyzing and understanding the inter relationship of management
and staff. Organizational efficiency and service quality can be increased through the implication of
management theories. Today managers simply do not use a singular theory, infect they use a series
of theories depending on the workplace, purpose and workforce. Still, few

Zone Of Proximal Development Essay
Zone of proximal development and Scaffolding learning
The main contents of sociocultural theory include: mediation, zone of proximal development,

which was first put forward by Lev Vygotsky was considered as an another major concept in this
theory. It is actually the gap between actual competence level (what problem level a child is able

solve with guidance from a tutor). In Vygotsky s view, learningis an interactive, interpersonal
activity. The learner can continue expose to knowledge through the social interaction and
internalize the external knowledge. Based on the above ideological foundation, the concept of
scaffolding Instruction was put forward. Cognitive development in the zone of proximal

This world is but a canvas to our imagination, wrote Henry David Thoreau. As a young child, I
clung to this inspirational message and ran with it to millions of marvelous places in my mind. I

When my mom wouldn t let me have a puppy, Fluffy came into my life. She was my imaginary

Us, Alex and Ben both were trying to fly out of Idaho so Alex could be at her wedding and Ben

Differences In Blue Penguin By Dr. Seuss And Blue Penguins
Discrimination has been present in society since ancient times. Discrimination is the theme of the
books, The Sneetches and Other Stories by Dr. Seuss and Blue Penguin by Petr HorГЎДЌek.
These two books with a difference of more than fifty years show us, as some of its characters, Blue
Penguin from the book Blue penguin, and a group of plain belly Sneetches from the book The
Sneetches and Other Stories are similarly discriminated, but they face the situation differently. Blue
penguin accepts himself and the plain belly Sneetches, unlike the blue penguin, try to be like the
star belly Sneetches.
The story of the Sneetches and the story of the Blue penguin are both charming. One was written in
1961 and the other in 2015. Both stories with their wonderful characters teach us about the
influence of discrimination. The sneetches made a mistake trying to change their appearances to fit
in the society in which they lived but in the end, both stories showed that it is never too late to
change and begin to accept others and more important to accept ourselves. On the other hand, there
is the story of the blue penguin who was a strong penguin but he was constantly discriminated by
the other penguins to the point of wanting to leave the South Pole. Blue Penguin never wanted to
change its appearance or its way of being, unlike the sneetches he always accepted himself. as a
result, the other penguins had to accept him the way he was.
In the book Blue penguin , Petr HorГЎДЌek

The Ballot Or The Bullet Essay
The Ballot or The Bullet and Letters from Birmingham Jail are both refutes of social, economic,
and civil injustice in America. The two letters are written by revolutionary activists of civil
rights, Martin Luther King, and Malcom X, both written with in a year of one another. Malcom
X, author of The Ballot or The Bullet is known for being a support of the black nationalist, and
dances on the line of encouraging violence in search for equality. Whereas, Martin Luther, author
of Letters from Birmingham Jail seeks justice through non violent direct action. Although the tone
and style of both letters are contrary to one another, the message is non the less the same, a
pathway to equality through social motivation sparked by a leader. Throughout the semester we
have touched upon many instances for which the legal history of America effects the life of a
black America, especially in We Shall Overcome Alexander Tsesis takes on the task of looking at
civil rights through the lens of legal history . The Ballot or The Bullet displays the political
message that the ballot is freedom, and thus power through the freedom to vote. Malcom X hounds
in on the political idea that the white man preys on the black man for votes, but then allows
filibustering to happen in the Senate so nothing gets passed to promote equality for black
Americans. Alexander writes frequently through the book how skewed politics become for blacks
once their vote is legalized. That although, they can

Essay on Censorship in Libraries and Schools
Censorship in Libraries and Schools
What would you do if you went to your child s school and saw that they were looking at
inappropriate material on the internet? Would you react the same way if they were in a public
library? Who decides what is okay for your children to view? Who decides where they can view
it? What can you do about them being able to view these things? Are there any laws that can
prevent this from happening? What are some schools and libraries doing to help prevent children
form looking at such material? These are all issues that will be discussed in the next few
paragraphs, along with my opinions on the matter.

I would be willing to give up some information about myself to help protect the young children in
our country.
Since there has not been a ruling in this case, the supporters of the censorship laws had to try and
find a way to get the internet censored to children. So in the year 2000, Congress passed the
Children s Internet Protection Act, which is aimed at the computers in the schools and libraries
that the children would have access to. This law was limited to only the schools and libraries that
participated in certain federal programs such as, receiving federal money for technology . The
schools and libraries that received this money were required to install filtering software on all
internet terminals to block access to sites with child pornography, obscene material, and material
that is harmful to minors . My opinion on this law is that it is even better than the firs one. They
are very similar, as you can tell from their names, there is very little changed in the names of the
laws. I think that the sites that a minor can look at should be filtered. This way they cannot look at
things that can be harmful to them.
Of course the supporters of the First Amendment opposed this law. They opposed this law because
the filtering systems could filter out things that could be educational, or used for health research.
There will always be problems with filters; they will either filter too much or not enough material.
This is especially true since,

Effects Of Anti Semitism In The Holocaust
The Holocaust was a horrific historical event which was started up for many reasons and saw
around six million Jews killed. The cruel actions of German Nazi s during that time continued to
impact people for generations after. The Nazis held significant power during this time and used
this to their advantage as they attempted to kill anyone who threatened their idea of a pure race .
The German Nazi s believed that they were of supreme race and that everybody else was below
them. They strived to get rid of any non German blood within families as they believed this would
ruin their race. Their attitude contributed to their work, as it helped soldiers continuously think and
support the ideas that came up during the holocaust. Anti Semitism, concentration camps and the
Final Solution were all factors that had a heavy influence on the treatment and view of Jews
throughout this time.
Anti Semitism is the word given to the prejudice and hate held by many towards people of
Jewish background. The cause of Anti Semitism may be because of religious teachings or
political teachings and is now considered a form of racism. Anti Semitism was highly visible
during the Holocaust and was a driving force in Hitler s plan to eliminate all Jews. The Nazi s
believed that they were a supreme race and also believed that the Jews, whom they saw as
destructive and instigators of trouble, would ruin that ideal. An example of Anti Semitism is
Hitler s heartless treatment of the Jews. He believed Jews had caused most of the severe issues
in Germany, like the failing economics and many people believed him. This was because anti
semitism was a pre existing idea which made it easy for Hitler to form a strong position in
people s mind and also on the political side. He justified his actions by blaming the Jews, while
also making it seem like they deserved to be tortured. ...the personification of the devil as the
symbol of all evil assumes the living shape of the Jew. is a direct quote taken from Hitler s book,
Mein Kampf . It gives a clear example of how Hitler viewed the Jews, even going as far to
compare them to the devil. Hitler was raised in Austria, in a town where the mayor held strong anti
semitic beliefs. This obviously had a

Hope Walkathon
Ordinarily, the psychological tool of influence that I noticed that became utilized in Figure 9.6 use
commitment/consistency as a psychological tool of power. Nevertheless, the writer is attempting
to appeals to the emotional feeling by trying to convince the reader into committing to the breast
cancer cause by establishing the idea of caring for the women in the lives, as being congruent with
caring for their selves. However, the logical appeal is through the facts that had become presented,
for example, nearly 182,460 women will begin to develop breast cancerthis year in our country.
Dejectedly, Breast cancerranks second cancer deaths in women.
Therefore, I would consider this message catering to the emotional side of the appeal since the
talking about Breast Cancer guilts the person into joining. Additionally, consistency has become
based on the notion that once people make an explicit commitment, in this case to the benefiting the
breast cancer awareness and prevention, the writer shows that they started committing to the breast
cancer cause and they want to stay consistent in helping with their original commitment. ... Show

Robert Agnew General Strain Theory
Throughout history a lot of experts have tried to understand why some people feel the need to
commit crimes, even though there have been harsh laws enforced for those who commit crimes.
These people have come up with theories as to why people commit crimes to understand these
theories, we must understand what a crimeis and understand the definition of theories.
Crime is a human conduct that violates the laws of a state or the federal government. There are
different ways people view criminal behaviors either through the view of the social problem
perspective which blames the society and the social responsibility which blames the person who
committed the crime. Through these two perspectives we get the idea of theories. A theoryis a
comprehensive explanation about certain experiences which are based on facts that have been
gathered overtime. These theories explain the mental reason people are more pushed to commit
crimes. Theories like Robert Agnews General Strain Theory has given us an explanation as to
phenomena criminal behavior. In 1992 strain theory was reformulated by Robert Agnew and called
the general strain theory. Agnew felt as though that strain theory was not fully explaining the main
reason people are pushed to commit crimes, so he came up with a theory he felt was a better
explanation and a reason as to why crimes were committed.
The concept of general strain theory comes from the idea that people commit crimes to use it as a
means of copping with the

Philosophy And Science Of The Same Breath
The philosophers Leucippus and Democritus are constantly mentioned in the same breath. Since
the bulk of their works did not survive the middle ages, we have only fragments and the writings of
their peers and successors to tell us about their accomplishments and ideas. It is difficult to separate
these two men because they are praised or critiqued as a unit by contemporaries and followers, but
their exact relationship is unclear. Sources such as Diogenes Laertius do not link them as teacher
and student, but rather as acquaintances. However, in Metaphysics, Aristotle refers to Democritusas
Leucippusdisciple , equating the two philosophers ideas of full and void (the idea of atoms and the
space in which they move). But whatever their relationship, their legacy of atomismis an important
one, and it has influenced philosophy and science down to the present day.
There is comprehensive access to primary sources on these philosophers and their ideas through
both the Perseus Digital Library and the Online Loeb Classical Library. The countless references to
Democritus in Aristotle s work are available both in original language and translation, as well as
passing references to Leucippus, Democritus, and their philosophy from authors such as Sextus,
Diogenes Laertius and others. Although these primary sources are mostly fragmented quotes or
philosophical rebuttals to Democritus and Leucippus works, they provide much needed information
on early atomist thought. The

Carotid Atherosclerosis Research Paper
While most people have heard of strokes, many don t know the importance of your carotid artery
in causing a stroke. It s important for everyone to understand the signs of carotid artery disease
and how to reduce the risk of it leading to a stroke.
What are your carotid arteries?
Your carotid arteries are bloodvessels in your neck that carry blood up to your brain and face. Your
common carotid arteries enter your neck on both the left and right side before splitting into an
internal and external carotid. The internal carotid is the most important as this is the one that
carries blood to your brain.
Carotid artery disease
Sometimes atherosclerosis occurs in the carotid arteries, especially at the bifurcation or the point
where the common carotid divides into the internal and external carotids. Atherosclerosis means
that a potentially dangerous plaque has formed on the artery wall. Plaque is a sticky material made
of fat and calcium which hardens the arteries and can block the flow of blood. This narrowing is
sometimes called a carotid artery stenosis, meaning that the carotid artery has narrowed
significantly.

In this instance, a piece can break off. If it travels up the internal carotid artery into the brain it
will cut off blood flow to part of the brain, causing a transient ischaemic attack (TIA) or a stroke.
The initial symptoms of both are similar and can range from numbness and paralysis in part of the
body to difficulty speaking to dizziness and vision changes. In a TIA these symptoms resolve
completely within 24 hours as no permanent damage has been caused. However, strokes can be
catastrophic or even fatal due to the permanent damage

Nay, if you read this line, remember not / The hand that writ it;(. . .) (lines 5 6). By referring to
himself as the hand that writ it (line 6) it seems like he s trying to make his image seem less
material as if he had only existed in his lover s mind and it had all been just a dream. This would
oblige his lover to forget him as though he had never existed. Following that, the speaker is
more direct and also clearer about his wish of being forgotten ( . . .) for I love you so / That I in
your sweet thoughts would be forgot (lines 6 and 7).; he asks his lover not to remember him when
reading the poem after his death; the speaker s love is so pure and real that he d rather have his
lover forget him and not suffer than nurture a memory of him everyday, living in pain in
consequence of these memories. In the following lines, the last argument is presented as a last
attempt to try to convince the speaker s lover: If thinking on me then should make you woe
/ Oh, if, I say, you look upon this verse / When I perhaps compounded am with clay / Do not so
much as my poor name rehearse / But let your love even with my life decay (lines 8 12). The
speaker is preoccupied with restating his wish over and over again throughout the sonnet, as if his
lover is stubborn and will not be willing to forget him, but this image of the speaker compounded
with clay is an allusion to the buried body in the

Examples Of Microbiologic Automation
1.The inflammation process begins by a response to any agent that causes cell injury or bacteria
response. This could either be physical, chemical or microbiologic. Physical response is can
either by to heat or cold. Concentrated acid or alkali are some examples of chemical response.
Some examples of microbiologic response is bacterium or virus. After the inflammation response
begins, the capillaries begin to dilate. The bloodvessels begin to expand, which increases the blood
flow. This causes the skin to increase in temperature and redness. Because of the dilation, the
capillary permeability, a condition of the capillary wall structure that allows blood elements and
waste products to pass through the capillary wall to tissue spaces, increases. The leakage of plasma
causes the skin or affected area to begin to swell. White blood cells, leukocytes, begin to migrate to
the site of injury. Polymorphonuclear is the most important cell. At this point in the inflammation
process, the systemic response begins. This is a set of physiologic actions that fight the infection
and heal wounds. Exudates are fluids and cells that filled the tissue space during inflammation.
There are many different types of exudate: serous, purulent, fibrinous, hemorrhagic based, and
purulent exudate. The last part of the inflammation process is the outcome. This depends on how...

  • 2. Executive Desk Information About Physical Fitness Test Directors Desk information about physical fitness test study Correctional Officers are an integral part of ADC completing the mission. The selection process used to select Correctional Officer has recently been transformed through the ongoing LEAN process. In the spirit of continuous improvement, the agency has examined the physical fitness selection tool used to assess CO applicants and Cadets ability to perform the job of Correctional Officer. The agency entered into an agreement with a private firm, Industrial Onsite Network (ION), to conduct an analysis of the current physical fitness standards used in the Correctional Officer selection and training process and how well they correlate to the actual tasks that CO s perform on a daily basis. The standards that are currently used in the hiring process and COTA graduation were implemented after a similar study that was completed in 1991. Since that study was completed in 1991, many changes have occurred in the Correctional field. Advancements have occurred not only with the technology we use in our field of work, such as electronic gates and doors, but also in the medical/physical and testing fields. Legal requirements to test for only ability to perform job job related tasks have been reconsidered and opinions of experts and government oversight agencies such as EEOC about what determines a job related test have changed. • 3. An Evaluation Of Conventional And Renewable Energy Sources An evaluation of conventional and renewable energy sources in the UK 1. Introduction As the most important type of energy, invented in the 1870s, the electricity has dominated the energy world for more than one hundred year. The invention and application of electricity contributed to the second peak of industrialization, which is undoubtedly one of the three science and technology revolutions within human history since the 18th century. Subsequently, technology has changed human s life when the large scale power system emerged in the 20th century. As one of the most remarkable achievements in the history of science and human engineering, the large scale power system consists of power generation, transmission, substation, power distribution and utilization. These individual elements are combined together to form a vast, complicated and dynamic system which is competent to generate, transmit, and distribute electricity over a large geographical area (Padiyar 2008). Regarding the different components of power system, this essay concentrates on the most essential stage of power system generation, (Padiyar 2008) with theoretical and numeral examples illustrated. Different resources are used for power generation with various techniques utilizing the advantages of the electrical sources. Precisely, conventional fossil fuels are reliable and productive and renewable sources are clean and relatively infinite in terms of electricity generation. Normally, issues also exist in ... • 4. Reasons And Results Of The Civil War Reasons and Results of the Civil War The Civil War was a very critical event in American History. It started by many disagreements between the North and the South. For blacks as for other Americans, the Civil War was a strong voice preaching the needs for devotion and allegiance to form a justified nation. After the war ended there were many results that would forever linger throughout America and the world. The South was known as the Confederate States of America, seceded from the North, which was known as the Union. The seceding of the South was because of four decades of intense sectional differences and conflicts between both South and North. The secession of the Southern states was not an instinctive act. Situations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand the South wanted to withhold all undetermined powers to the individual states and to withhold all these projects. The predominant issue why the South seceded was the slavery issue. The South wanted and called for slavery and would do anything they could to keep it. Cold heartedly the slaves were items and if taken away would put a huge dent in investments towards Southerners. The value to the slaveholding planter class was immeasurable. Northerners demanded for collective bargaining to develop goals such as free education, better salaries and working conditions for workers, and better rights for woman. Northerners said that slavery revoked the rights of a human to be a free person. The subject of slavery left, and the North headed for war and eventually defeated the South in the Civil War. Without this war I sorely would have to say that we could have been in a much more segregated society than we already are. This war was needed in order to produce a stronger and more stable country for everyone. Slavery was abolished in the Union during Abraham Lincoln s presidency. Lincoln called it Emancipation Proclamation. This movement was definitely a day of awakening for America as a whole, which finally realized what free meant. All the Southern states would soon rejoin the Union. After the war concluded ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Sweetheart of the Song of Tra Bong as Metaphor Essay Sweetheart of the Song of Tra Bong as Metaphor The Vietnam War is a strange and unexplainable event in American history. The controversies surrounding the American involvement in Vietnam and the need for Vietnam veterans to tell their stories of the war are prevalent in the post Vietnam culture of America. The stories that will last forever are those that swirl back and forth across the border between trivia and bedlam, the mad and the mundane (89). The story of the sweetheart of the Song of Tra Bong explains this quote of the veteran stories never make exact sense, but they are stories from a war that never quite made exact sense either. You don t know Nam (97). This is a story about the development of human nature and accepting the changes of a rite of passage. Mary Anne adjusted to the life in Vietnam, as did the soldiers that were there, and as time progressed she began to enjoy or get a thrill out of being in Vietnam. I mean when we first got here all of us we were real young and innocent, full of romantic bullshit, but we learned pretty damn quick. And so did Mary Anne, (97). The learning curve in war is quickened by the fact that it is a matter of life or death when you are working in a war, and it did not matter who you were the you quickly learned how to operate in a battle field. Mary Anne did not fit in a first and did not know or understand her role in the war, and just like the fresh soldiers coming from America did know or understand their role in the war. As the soldiers, as well as Mary Anne, begin to realize the realities of the war they move their focus away from their homes in America and begin to focus on the work that needed to be accomplished in Vietnam. The physical changes that occur to Mary Anne as she begins to be assimilated into the Vietnam War are like night and day. She came as your typical American girl, but then becomes a fighting soldier looking and anticipating ugly war ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Description Cultural relativism is the concept that morality is based upon culture, [...] there are sometimes differing moral standards and practices in various cultures (Hollinger, 2002, Kindle Locations 212 218). Morals are not universal, practices are accepted or rejected by the individual culture and change as the culture changes. II. Critique A. Pros of Cultural Relativism 1. Cultural relativism gives one a license to believe what they desire. They find a culture that suits their desires. Where they can remain unaffected by beliefs of the outside world. 2. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cons of Cultural Relativism 1. Numerous value systems muddy the water and eventually dilutes morality as a whole. This approach prevents the internal dimension of our personal relationship with God. Our outward expression of the inward spirituality, the external dimension, is unattainable as we are not able to have a personal relationship with God without his moral system. 2. Morality assessments are typically based on a personal value system leaving little room for cultural diversity. The internal dimension is to be free of judgment and the external dimension is to love one another. If so, this requires cultures to be tolerant of all other cultures. 3. Relativism rejects universal morals. It does not acknowledge the basic principle of the external dimension, practiced morals from a Godly value system. That Godly value system can only come from the internal dimension. 4. A cultural moral system is accepted by those within their own culture. The culture does not concern itself with outside acceptance. Weakness in both the internal and external Christian framework is prevalent in this mindset. The culture models behavior without concern of consequences. This is opposite of what God modeled to mankind and what the Bible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In these trial, 331 patients with advanced MTC were randomly assigned to vandetanib versus placebo with crossover was allowed after progression in the placebo arm. When Christopher Columbus had voyaged across the ocean, people began to fear he and his crew would plummet of the edge of the world. Despite being told otherwise, we let our own ignorance dictate our definition of what is good and bad for us and others. This becomes apparent through written literature. Knowles here draws a point that conflicts in oneself can affect what is occurring externally, because of ignorance the consequences extended beyond reach. Furthermore, Gene does not simply see Finny as a friend but a partner in crime. Finny trapped me again in his strongest trap, that is, I suddenly became his collaborator ( Knowles 1959). Jekyll was a well renowned doctor, but he still grew impatient of having to be morally upright all the time. He seeks to rid himself of these burdens by releasing his Other self. According to Jekyll s narration, both he and Hyde existed before the discovery of the salt that enabled them to become seperate: I learned to recognise the thorough and primitive duality of man; I saw that, of the two natures that contended in the field of my consciousness, even if I could rightly be said to be either, it was only because I was radically both (Stephenson 49). Man is not truly one, but truly two, Jekyll relates, appearing to support the theory suggesting that each brain hemisphere might house a separate personality, indeed, a separate soul (Stevenson 48). The dual hemisphere theory states that the left side of the brain is the rational side while the right side can be described as the instinctual, chaotic side. • 19. The Indelibility Of The Past In The Mayor Of Casterbridge... In the Mayor of Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy shows how one man s mistakes can impact the rest of his life. The two themes I found most significant in The Mayor of Casterbridge are honesty and the indelibility of the past. In order to fully study these themes and their effects on our protagonist s life, we must start where his story begins. Mr. Henchard, our story s namesake, has committed a grievous sin by drunkenly auctioning off his wife and child. This is not the first time he has made an abusive action against Susan, as evidenced by her line, I ve lived with thee a couple of years and had nothing but temper! (Hardy 13). Evidently their relationship is incredibly flawed if Michael could not put to rest his alcoholism and anger issues for the sake of his wife and child. He takes action against his alcohol issues by vowing never to touch strong liquor for the next twenty years. However, it is too late for his marriageand the damage has already been done. The place of women in Henchard s life ties deeply into the indelibility of the past. When we meet him again, he has not only become the most successful hay trusser in the town, but has also become the mayor. Henchard s reformed behavior shows results, but it isn t enough to break him from his curse of bad interpersonal relationships. Voting is a formal expression of preference for a candidate for office or for a resolution of an issue. Voting takes place in the context of a large scale national or regional election, however, local and community electionscan be just as poignant to individual participation in government. Every Australian citizen who is aged 18 years or more can vote in a federal electionif validly enrolled and not disqualified from voting. Political participation is the basis of democracyand a vital part of the right to vote . Australia s constitution has framed the progressive democracy Australia has become, however there is debate on the derivation of this right to vote and on the extent of the protection of that right. The right is not constitutional at all, instead being governed by international treaty obligations and commonwealth legislation. The right to vote has been defined as the right to cast a ballot in an election. However, in order to fulfil the democratic objective of representative government, modern definitions require that the vote cast is effective, that each individual may only vote a single time and that franchise is equal. Further, the right must have legal prevalence in order to prevent its erosion through legislation. How then, would you then change the feeds and speeds as the hole depth increases? Generally, as the hole depth increases, the force or torque in drilling also increases because as the depth increases, the surface contact area will also increase which increases the required force to drill the hole. Therefore, it increases the required torque. As the hole depth increase, the feed and speed reduce because the drill experience higher stress as the depth increase compared to the stress at shallow holes. These stresses caused torque to increase with the increasing chances of failure. So, to compensate the chances of failure, the feeds and speed needed to be reduced. ... Different families view themselves in different ways. Watching the sport may seem boring to those who do not play because they don t understand it. A strong mental state is extremely important in soccer, as well as every day. The ability to multitask proves to be an advantage in the game; when a player has the ball, they need to continue to move, look for open teammates on the field, and maneuver around the opposing team simultaneously. • 33. Analysis Of The Article Anatomy Of The Medial Knee Essay I was both satisfied and dissatisfied with FoxNews.com s portrayal of my work. First, the article did a good job of publicizing (sensationalizing) my work by using the words discovery, discover and discovered several times throughout the article. This type of promotion (although a misrepresentation) generated a lot of attention and interest in my research, which encouraged scientific dialogue and research of the kneeALL. Moreover, this information could benefit patients, orthopedic practitioners, other researchers and government research institutions. Second, the article did provide a link to the KU Leuven news article (which provided a more accurate portrayal of my research) entitled, Surgeons describe new ligament in the human knee. This Ku Leuven news article contains a link to my original research article entitled, Anatomy of the anterolateral ligament of the knee. This gave the reader an opportunity to read my research and make their own educated judgments and conclusions. Third, FoxNews.com did accurately report that the ligament was named by the researchers: anterolateral ligament (ALL). This is very important because the whole purpose of the research was to standardize the definition of the ALL which would provide clarity and minimize confusion among clinicians and researchers. Management as a proper discipline developed after the tip of the nineteenth century. Nevertheless it should be admitted that management has been in existence since humankind became systematized into formal groups. It is very difficult to come up with a definition of managementwhich could totally satisfy all professionals or skilled people or all management theorists. For a broad operating definition consider management as an activity that performs certain functions to obtain the effective acquisition, allocation, and utilization of human efforts and physical resources to accomplish some goal (Wren 2005, p. 3). Modern management has grown with the growth of social economics and scientific institution. Nowadays workers do not work only for money. They work for satisfaction and happiness with sensible living style. These are the most vital issues now. Malcom X, author of The Ballot or The Bullet is known for being a support of the black nationalist, and dances on the line of encouraging violence in search for equality. The German Nazi s believed that they were of supreme race and that everybody else was below them. They strived to get rid of any non German blood within families as they believed this would ruin their race. Anti Semitism, concentration camps and the Final Solution were all factors that had a heavy influence on the treatment and view of Jews throughout this time. Anti Semitism is the word given to the prejudice and hate held by many towards people of Jewish background. The cause of Anti Semitism may be because of religious teachings or political teachings and is now considered a form of racism. Anti Semitism was highly visible during the Holocaust and was a driving force in Hitler s plan to eliminate all Jews. The Nazi s believed that they were a supreme race and also believed that the Jews, whom they saw as destructive and instigators of trouble, would ruin that ideal. These people have come up with theories as to why people commit crimes to understand these theories, we must understand what a crimeis and understand the definition of theories. Crime is a human conduct that violates the laws of a state or the federal government. There are different ways people view criminal behaviors either through the view of the social problem perspective which blames the society and the social responsibility which blames the person who committed the crime. It s important for everyone to understand the signs of carotid artery disease and how to reduce the risk of it leading to a stroke. What are your carotid arteries? Your carotid arteries are bloodvessels in your neck that carry blood up to your brain and face. Your common carotid arteries enter your neck on both the left and right side before splitting into an internal and external carotid. The internal carotid is the most important as this is the one that carries blood to your brain. Carotid artery disease Sometimes atherosclerosis occurs in the carotid arteries, especially at the bifurcation or the point where the common carotid divides into the internal and external carotids. Atherosclerosis means that a potentially dangerous plaque has formed on the artery wall. This could either be physical, chemical or microbiologic. Physical response is can either by to heat or cold. Concentrated acid or alkali are some examples of chemical response. Some examples of microbiologic response is bacterium or virus. After the inflammation response begins, the capillaries begin to dilate. The bloodvessels begin to expand, which increases the blood flow. This causes the skin to increase in temperature and redness. Because of the dilation, the capillary permeability, a condition of the capillary wall structure that allows blood elements and waste products to pass through the capillary wall to tissue spaces, increases.
