Ambition Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of ambition can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires a delicate
balance between personal reflection, research, and the ability to articulate complex thoughts.
Ambition is a multifaceted concept, encompassing personal aspirations, professional goals, and
societal expectations. To address such a broad theme effectively, one must navigate through
various dimensions, including psychological, cultural, and historical perspectives.
The difficulty lies not only in defining and exploring ambition but also in presenting a cohesive
and compelling narrative that engages the reader. Striking the right tone is crucial, as the essay
must convey the enthusiasm and drive associated with ambition while avoiding the pitfalls of
arrogance or insensitivity.
Moreover, the challenge extends to the need for thorough research to support arguments and
provide a well-rounded view of the topic. Understanding the historical context of ambition, its
portrayal in literature, and its role in shaping societies adds depth and credibility to the essay.
Incorporating diverse perspectives ensures a nuanced analysis, making the writing process more
intricate.
Furthermore, crafting a conclusion that leaves a lasting impression poses its own set of
challenges. Summarizing the key points while offering thought-provoking insights requires
finesse, as it should resonate with the reader and leave them contemplating the significance of
ambition in their own lives.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of ambition demands a blend of introspection,
research, and eloquent expression. It is a task that calls for a thoughtful exploration of the subject
matter, careful consideration of diverse viewpoints, and the ability to weave these elements into
a cohesive and impactful narrative.

Sox-404 Corporate Governance
The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO)
was first implemented in 1985 to support the National Commission on Fraudulent
Financial Reporting, as well as working with auditors and the Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC). The committee s objective was to produce thought
leaders for Enterprise Risk Management(ERM), fraud determent, and internal control
and financial reporting (ICFR) in 2004; COSO introduced the ERM Integrated
Framework. (COSO, 2015) SOX 404, mandates the use of an internal control
framework by the management of publicly traded entities. Since 1992, multiple

Female circumcision, also known as Female genital...
Female circumcision, also known as Female genital mutilation, or female genital
cutting is a custom that has sparked controversy among many people belonging to
other cultures not accustomed to the practice. Within the argument lay a series of
debates surrounding the issue as culture and tradition clash with human rightsover
whether or not this practice should be allowed. Advocates against the practice draw
on the prevalence, perceptions, and reasons for conducting FGM to combat what
they believe is a human rights issue. Female genital mutilation is defined by the
World Health Organization (WHO) as all procedures involving partial or total

Women themselves appear to defend this painful custom and take part in performing
it on others because of the significance in their culture and society. This is because
the issue has to do with women s perception of their role in the world. (Dawla) The
World Health Organization divides Female genital mutilation into four major types.
The first is called clitoridectomy. This process involves the partial or total removal of
the clitoris and, in some cases, only the prepuce. The second type is classified as
excision. This is defined as the partial or total removal of the clitoris and the labia
minora, with or without excision of the labia majora. The third type is infibulation.
This involves the narrowing of the vaginal opening through the creation of a
covering seal. The seal is formed by cutting and repositioning the inner, or outer,
labia, with or without removal of the clitoris. The adhesion of the labia results in the
near complete covering of the urethra and vaginal orifice. This stitching must then be
reopened for sexual intercourse and childbirth. The reversal process is called
defibulation. The last category encompasses all other kinds of harmful procedures to
the female genitalia for non medical purposes. These include things such as pricking,
piercing, incising, scraping and cauterizing the genital area. The first and second
types are the most common and account for over

A Worn Path Eudora Welty
Question 1a A Worn Path by Eudora Welty recounts the long journey of an elderly
woman, Phoenix Jackson. As Phoenix plods along, the reader has no idea of the
reason for her trip. However, it can be gathered by Phoenix s attitude and remarks
that this trip is a very important one. She seems very determined to reach her goal.
She tells the animals to keep out of [her] way (438). She continues to walk uphill,
through thorny bushes, across log bridges, and under barbed wire fences. She is
bound to go to town (440). The people Phoenix encounters do not seem to understand
the importance of Pheonix s journey. The hunger declares that it is too far (440). He

If her grandson was dead, she probably would not consider buying him a gift and
thinking about his reaction. For Phoenix to remember him so vividly and to think
of surprising him with a gift implies that he still may be alive. In the end, it does not
matter whether Phoenix s grandslon is alive or not. What matters is Phoenix s
willingness to travel the long journey for him. Her journey demonstrates undying
love; she will travel this path for him regardless whether he is alive of long gone.
Question 1d The character is Phoenix Jackson is revealed primarily through indirect
presentation. Eudora Welty paints of vivid picture of Phoenix, describing her
appearance and recounting her words and actions. Phoenix Jackson is an elderly
African American woman. She is very old (437). Her skin is filled with
numberless branching wrinkles and her black her is composed of the frailest of
ringlets (437). She is not well to do; her apron is made from bleached sugar sacks
and her is tied by a red rag (437). Nevertheless, she is neat and tidy (437), though
she cannot tie her shoelaces. Phoenix is a good natured person. She often makes
light of her old age, laughingly declaring that she she ought to be shut up for good
since she is too old (438). She joyfully dances with the scarecrow after realizing that
it was not a ghost. Phoenix is also very perceptive. She notices the nickel which falls

Cambodian Refugee s and their adjustment to American Society One of the youngest
ethnic groups of Southeast Asians migrated to the United States during the mid 1970s
was the Cambodian population. They are considered one of the youngest generations
of immigrants in American society along with the rest of the Southeast Asians or
Indo Chinese; Vietnamese, Lao, and Hmong. All of the ethnic groups in the Cold
War era were seeking political asylum to the States from their respective homeland
caused by a Civil War spreading across Vietnam. Nearly hundreds of thousands of
Cambodians refugees fled to Thailand, Europe and other safe haven Asian countries

Therefore many fled, seeking political asylum during the reign. But prior to the event,
the American and Cambodian countries have already established a relationship with
one another. A small number of Cambodians lived in the Long Beach area where

Beach (Kitano and Daniels 74). The presence of settled Cambodians within U.S. soil
attracted many of the 1975 refugees to the Long Beach area. Thus it sparked a huge
migration movement, but many foreigners faced even greater challenges in their new
home. It should be noted that measuring the demographics of the Cambodian
American community has historically been challenging; it is widely suspected that
the community is repeatedly undercounted by the Census Bureau. A 1992 report of
the Census Bureau identified several problems that lead an inaccurate count of this
particular ethnic group (Bunte and Joesph Cenus data). They include language
barriers, mistrust of strangers and the government due to the post traumatic effects of
the Khmer Rouge also known as, Pol Pot Syndrome and the unusual residence and
household composition as significantly affected Census counts. To sum it up, the
statistics are usually generalized as a whole to easily identify the migration patterns,
social behaviors and economic resources of the Cambodian Americans. The,
Subway Is Testing A New Rebranding Campaign
Overview
On August 18, 2015, longtime Subway pitchman Jared Fogle was arrested under a
child pornography investigation. Quick to respond, Subway communicated to press
via public comment and Twitter on their stance. Hours after the arrest, Subway
made public its separation from Fogle and its disgust and lack of knowledge of the
crimes committed. Because of their quick response, while they were directly tied to
Fogle, most of the negative response was placed on Fogle and not Subway. Moving
forward, Subway is testing a new rebranding campaign in Australia that focuses on
products, rather than a pitchman.
Company History:
In 1965, a 17 year old medical school student, Fred DeLuca, opened up a submarine
sandwich shop in Connecticut on a $1,000 loan from a friend. By 1982, the chain
had opened up its 300th location. In 1984, the Subway sandwich chain was
introduced overseas and by 1990, there were more than 5,000 locations. Today,
Subway has the most sandwich restaurants in the world at 37,000 locations (3).
Known for their freshly baked bread and healthy options, Subway restaurants are
located in schools, malls, gas stations, airports and even zoos. In 1995, the Subway
began its journey towards becoming a major supporter of motorsports. In 1996,
www.subway.com was launched and was featured multiple times in the movie Happy
Gilmore (3). In 1999, an article was written about an overweight college student who
lost a large amount of weight eating nothing but Subway sandwiches
Is Wrestling Good Or Bad
The feeling of walking on the mat, the cool air, adrenaline flowing, being ready to
give everything to win, after intense practice and major training, its finally time to
show that the hard work has finally paid off, but why would anyone want to be in
danger all for fun and games, maybe because wrestling is the sixth most popular
sport in the world, it requires extensive training and full dedication and it has for
years.
The art of wrestling was found to be dated over 15,000 years ago in the time of the
cave man, in France, then through Egyptians and Romans it was changed to be
more of a sport than a defensive skill, therefore it was less brutal ( History ). The
Egyptians started a style called belt wrestling and the Indians created a loose

that their individual strengths compliment one another well, particularly in
challenging situations.
Family Members Strengths Compliment One Another at Barber Shop
When asked which of the men is the best barber, Bill does not hesitate. We all are
the best barber...all three of us. People will come in and request any one of us. * He
lets either son cut his own hair and does not seem to play favorites. They have each
cut hair of men, women, and children.
The Rabons have seen their share of hairstyles through the years. Our most popular
cut is your basic, regular haircut, Cliff says. They also cut many flat tops and fades,
which are also known as high and tights. Phil has cut one woman s hair three times to
donate to Locks of Love. Shaving lines in hair has also been popular, and Cliff and
Phil found themselves challenged when clients would request special designs in
their hair in years past. Phil particularly remembers doing a Nike symbol. Cliff
mentions cutting a Batman bat signal. The bad thing about that was I didn t even
think to charge extra! Bill defers to his sons for special hair designs such as those.
Bill trained at a Winston Salem barber school while Cliff and Phil received their
barber training in Charlotte. The program lasted approximately nine months. It was

Their Eyes Were Watching God Narrative
Folk legends and histories are an integral aspect of any cultural context, and it
seems that Zora Neale Hurston s novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God appears to
relate to the reader the story of Janie in a narrative fashion much of the cultural
components of African Americans in the deep south. Through her background as a
collector of African American folklore, Hurston uses this feminist novel tells the
coming of age story of a young black woman in a southern Florida town who tries to
find her true voice and sense of self throughout the trial and travails of her three
marriages. That sense of voice become much more realistic and believable due to the
author s insistence on using various voices in relating the story, so that throughout the

external reward for external efforts. For women, however, their dreams are the truth, a
truth that women, in a proto feminist narrative, are able to have on their own, without
the influence of men. Moreover, the dreams of women have are inherently the prize

Janie s return is quietly transitioned into the metaphorical narrative as if with the
presence of Janie, the story must likewise be changed. Hurston relates the porch

The Day I Rowed Island Poem
Five days we rowed for, all day and all night. The flat water was all that we saw for
miles. Solely on the fault of my crew there had been no wind. Spirits were low and
every once in awhile a bird would crow, but otherwise the only thing we heard was
the paddle hitting the water. The sun drowned into the horizon and met with the
water. Pink and orange rays reflected of the sea and the pale white moon began to
shimmer, along with the stars. We had rowed for another whole day, and we still
had no clue when we would see an island. Patiently we waited to see land. During
the summer farmers wait for rain to keep their crops alive. The farmers wait
tolerantly trusting the rain with come so the produce does not die. Just that way we
waited to see land so we would not die off at sea.

I continued looking in the same bush I had before the beast had arrived. It was
hopeless, I found nothing but a pile of leaves connected by a steam and a few
branches. Next to the bush was an average tree taller than I am, with most of its
leaves fallen to the ground. The branches were lonely with only a few leaves on
each. I still did not find anything; the tree was as dead as everything else on this
island. In frustration I kicked the leaves below the tree; peeking through the brown
pile was a radiant pink petal. I bent down lower to admire the striking flower hidden
under the dead leaves. I pushed away the trees leaves and was shocked not only to
see something that was alive, but a lotus flower. In the middle of the flower was the
lotus fruit that supposedly makes one forget everything they once wanted.
With the fruit in my hand I rushed over to the dog and threw the lotus is the air
towards the evil head. Flamia s sword like teeth split the fruit in half and was
swallowed within seconds. My men bounced up and down in relief and thought the
lotus fruit would have the same effect it had on

African American Dancers With Pink Ribbons
C. Investigation.
A post by Eric Underwood ( source H ) challenged Bloche (a major dance wear
company) on social media by posting a picture of himself painting his ballet shoes
with his skin tone make up. A phenomenon used by most dancers of colour as dance
shoes tend to only come in beige ,pink ,white and black. A White Russian dancer
replied to Eric Underwoods post with Why don t dancers of colour use ordinary
black shoes . This was not the only racially offensive comment made towards the post
and is one of many made daily towards dancers of colour. This is what provoked this
investigation. An investigation that provides insight into the obstacles/challenges
encountered by African Americandancers with regards to being successful in the
world of dance and key figures that have overcome this struggle.
There are many major obstacle facing African American dancers that contribute to
racial segregation in the dance world. For instance flesh coloured shoes with pink
ribbons are the traditional foot wear for ballet which dates back the 1820 s. Many
African American dancers have questioned major dance wear companies who use
this tradition as an excuse not to provide all the different skin tone dance wear. It is
not only the dance wear companies refusing to adapt to modern societies idea of
equality but other white dancers and companies as well.

The Theory Of Human Development Theory
Human development theories are theories intended to account for how and why
people become, as they are. These theories provide the framework to clarify and
organize existing observations and to try to explain and predict human behavior. It is
important to recognize the complexity of human development and the theories that
explain human development. (Berger, pg. 23). The three theories that have
influenced by development are Jean Piagets Cognitive Theory, Abraham Maslow s
Humanism and Erik Eriksons Psychosocial Development Theory.
1. The first Human development theory is that of Jean Piaget s, who believed that all
human development and behavior was the product of consistent and reliable patterns
of interactions with the environment called schemas. Piaget divided his Theory of
Cognitive development into four stages. Each stage is characterized by overall
structures and sequences of development, which consist of schemas. Schemas are the
primary component of intelligent behavior, which adapt through a continuous process
of assimilation and accommodation, in an endeavor to attain equilibrium which is
essentially balance. Assimilation is the process of adapting new experiences to fit
into existing schemas. Accommodation is the process of changing existing schemas
to fit new experiences. The first stage of Piaget s theory of cognitive development is
the sensorimotor stage, which is from birth to 2 years old. According to Piaget

Elements Of Characters In Prisoners, Sicario And Arrival
Dramas are films with realistic plots, settings, characters, and situations. Dramas tend
to be driven and somewhat dependent on powerful actor portrayals and good
direction, rather than CGI effects or action. Dramas tend to include characters that are
complex and well developed throughout their films. But perhaps one of the most key
elements in dramas are the themes of intense and real struggle centered around the
human condition. These themes can be expressed overtly through the plot and story
or symbolically through several different film elements. Denis Villeneuve is a
director whose all but mastered the art of creating dramatic films, consistently making
films that become exemplary models for what dramafilms should evoke in an
audience. His three films Prisoners, Sicario, and Arrival do not fall outside of this
classification. Each of these are unique in their own respect, yet Denis Villeneuve
uses several different thematic elements, particularly color, in all three to craft
complex symbols and commentary that reside deep in the recesses of each film s
narrative.
The first film, Prisoners, is about two regular, All American families whose lives are
flipped upside down when the daughters of each family goes missing. Most of the
film centers around the investigation and how members of each family cope with
their situation. The basic plot of Prisoners isn t very original nor unique to be quite
honest, however it s unique use of lighting, cinematography and profound

delivered as a package including practical training to teachers and resources and are
designed to support the delivery of the national curriculum.
On the Island at present the MSR have provided all primary schools with only two

Effects Of Bees On The Environment
United States beekeepers have reported that 33 percent of bee colonies have been
lost since 2006 (Palmer). Honeybees are important to the environment. These bees
help pollinate many different plants and the loss of bees will have a great impact
on the environment. There is no proven reason why bee population is declining, but
there are a few causes that could be the reasons why this is happening. The
population of different species of bees are declining, but this can be stopped by a few
solutions. The decline of bee populations is a problem. Bees help pollinate different
fruits and vegetables that both humans and other animals eat. According to the U.S.

Chensheng Lu, a scientist from Harvard did a study of pesticides and Colony
Collapse Disorder (CCD) to see if the two were connected. He said, Bees from six
of the twelve neonicotinoid treated colonies had abandoned their hives and were
eventually dead with symptoms resembling Colony Collapse Disorder (McCoy).
According to Lu s research, pesticides were one of the causes for CCD. It caused
bees to leave their hives and later cause those bees deaths. Another cause of the
decline of bees is habitat loss. As humans build more cities, animals lose more
land. The biggest problem for bees is habitat fragmentation. This is when
urbanization blocks a creature, like bees, from being able to leave a certain area.
This can make it harder for a bee to find food, which can quickly kill an entire
colony. Urbanization directly removes the bees habitat and isolates and fragments
the area the bees travel. Other problems can include genetic diversity and difficulty
finding a mate. This diversity can kill bees just as fast as other some of the other
reasons for their death. The bees can not breed as much as which causes their
population numbers to go down ( Habitat Fragmentation ). The next cause of bees
declining is parasites. Parasites are creatures that live off of other creatures, like a
tick or lice. In 1980 s, a parasite called the Varroa destructor was discovered. It is
one of the most common parasites in bees. This parasite sucks the blood out of adult

Comparison Of I Love Lucy And The Simpsons
A lot has changed in the years of TV, but in terms of sitcoms between the two

an American television sitcom that was made in 1951 and ended in 1957. I love
Lucy was an old modern television showed that was in black and white, the picture
was old and not as advanced as television today. The Simpsonsis an American
animated sitcom started in 1989 and is still showing as of today. The Simpsons is a
more colorful and also animated TV show. The picture is better and it got better as
the years went on. I don t think anything has changed in terms the focus of comedy.
The focus of comedy has always been current events, things that have happened in the
past and the standards
Improving Health, Gender Equality, Peace, And Stability
Education is the catalyst for development and one of the strongest instruments for
reducing poverty and improving health, gender equality, peace, and stability. There
has been a great improvement in the number of children accessing education
especially girls. However, education for females still lags behind due to gender
inequality in education provision. Evidently, the trend is more pronounced in rural
areas. For instance, it is a common practice in Zambia that the boy will receive
education while the girl will be sidelined if the parents have to decide on whom to
send to school when dictated upon by various constraints. This is the case in most
rural based families with little income. Although the trend does exist in urban areas, it
is more prevalent in rural areas. Consequently, there is inequality in leadership, trade,
health and many other areas of life. This report discusses how gender inequality in
female education compares in Lusaka, Chongwe and Mumbwa districts, focusing on
selected schools in the districts.

Don Crow Laws Segregation Laws And Using Music As An

Throughout the late 19th century, African Americans did not have the same rights as
white people, which led towards the establishment of Jim Crow laws. Jim Crow laws
segregated blacks from whites in a political, educational, and social setting, which
created unfair treatment towards people of color. In Devil in the Grove, four African
Americanboys, known as the Groveland Boys, were falsely accused of raping a
white woman in Florida, which was known as the Groveland case. Thurgood
Marshall, who was a part of The National Association of Advancement for Colored
People (NAACP), helped to solve the Groveland case, as he was an advocate in
fighting against Jim Crow segregation. The labor force, vigilante groups, and legal
precedents led towards the establishment of Jim Crow policies by segregating black
peoplefrom white people in public areas. African Americans contested these policies
by creating legal organizations that overturned cases supporting segregation laws and
using music as a way to protest against the Jim Crow policies. In the labor force, there
was pressure and unfair treatment towards African Americans, which was a
foundational element in establishing Jim Crow laws. Gilbert King wrote, McCarthy
learned that whites in Groveland (who accounted for about 60 percent of the town s

Glomerular Function
The functional unit of the kidney is the nephron. It consists of a renal corpuscle
where fluid can be filtered and a renal tubule where the filtered fluid flows through.
Nephrons perform three basic functions, Glomerular filtration, tubular reabsorption,
and tubular secretion. Glomerular filtration occurs as pressure (glomerular blood
hydrostatic pressure) forces water and dissolved blood components through the
endothelial pores of the capillaries, basement membrane, and on through the
filtration slits of the adjoining visceral wall of the glomerular capsule. The resulting
fluid is called the filtrate. Most substances in blood plasma are filtered by the renal
corpuscle. However, blood cells and most proteins are not filtered. Filtration of blood
depends on the force of glomerular blood hydrostatic pressure. Filtration fraction is
the percentage of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a normal adult is about 125 ml/minute. Glomerular blood flow depends on renal
auto regulation, hormonal, and neural regulation. Tubular reabsorption is the
movement of certain components of the filtrate back into the blood. It retains
substances needed by the body, including water, glucose, amino acids, and ions, such
as sodium potassium, calcium, chloride, bicarbonate, and phostphate. Reabsorption
of Na+ is especially important because more of them pass the glomerular filter than
any other substance except water. Sodium ions are reabsorbed in each portion of the
renal tubule by several transport systems. Active transport of Na+ promotes
reabsorption of water by osmosis. The loss of water from the filtrate creates a
concentration gradient for some substances, such as K+, Cl , HC03 , and urea, that
promotes their
Duck Hunting Essay
Duck hunting is an absolute passion for me and nothing could possibly interrupt
this annual event. For me, sitting out in a duck blind at 5:30 in the morning with
the brisk cold air biting at my skin is something I look forward to each and every
year. Even having to break through a layer of thin ice to make it out to my blindnever
gets old. The frigid cold on my hands can get unbearable at times, but the possibility
of frostbite is never at the forefront of my thoughts. After all, when the ducks start to
fly, nothing can force me off the lake.
My passion for duck hunting began when I met Bruce, a friend of my dad s who
introduced me to the sport. He is a phenomenal man who really has a brilliant
knowledge in the sport of duck ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At exactly 11:54 a.m., we heard the echoing sound of shotguns. Although it wasn t
noon, Bruce was blowing duck calls like they were going out of style. Shots were
being fired from almost every member of our group, and Bruce was dropping a flock
of Mallards into our decoys.
After the initial excitement had settled down, the dogs came back with only five
retrieved ducks. Instead of being disappointed, we were amused. You see, we
seemed to have hit more air than ducks. Maybe if we would have shot the clay
pigeons a few more times in target practice, we would have done better.
As opening day progressed, we improved a lot. Our group ended up five short of
the 50 daily limit for the ten of us. At the end of the hunt, we reminisced about the
day s events while we cleaned the ducks, barbecued and laid out our hunting plans for
day two.
Day two arrived a lot sooner than we had expected. Since opening day was complete,
additional hunting hours could now begin at sunrise. When we got out to the blind,
the ducks were once again thick in the air. I don t know why, but as I was sitting in
the blind, I remembered a quote I had read in a Field and Streams magazine. The
quote was A successful hunt can not be successful without a successful duck caller. I
have never found a quote to be truer. From day two on, it became my motto. Bruce
continued to call the ducks into our decoys

Richard Cory, by Edwin Arlington Robinson Essay
The narrator in Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson is a low class working
citizen telling the reader, in detail, about a distinguished gentleman named Richard
Cory who eventually put a bullet through his head. Almost everyone, including the
narrator, would stare at him with awe every time they saw him. He was imperially
slim (4), always charismatic and well dressed. He was extremely courteous and
polite. He would please everyone s heart with a simple Good Morning. Then the
narrator soon explains that on one calm summer nighthe executes himself by putting
a gun to his head. When I first read the poem, I thought it told the story of a young
man and his riches. After about my third or fourth reading, I realized this poem is...

When the poem read, he was always human when he talked, I did not quite
understand. Soon afterward, I realized the author meant Richard Cory was not a
conceited or arrogant man; he was a friendly man. I could imagine him being the
brightest thing on the street when I comprehended he glittered when he walked. I
realized that Richard Cory was more than just a rich man.
...Yes richer than a king, the third stanza states. At first reading, I thought, This man
must have money growing on trees! Resulting from another reading, I came to the
conclusion that maybe the narrator just couldn t picture someone having so much
money and might have exaggerated to show how much wealthier Richard Cory was
than most people. As the people in line 11, I can certainly relate to thinking that a
particular person was everything.
After finishing line 13, I did not entirely understand what was meant by the light.
Did it signify daylight or symbolize a rescuer from the life they were living? The
final stanza ended by telling the reader how Richard Cory went home one night and
shot himself in the head. I found it kind of selfish that Richard Cory a man who
could afford to eat at a fancy restaurant
Shopping For A Host Case Study
Shopping for a Host
The key word is shopping. Web hosts can be found with a simple Internet search.
Chances are, if you have an email account, your email provider also offers web
hosting. I use Yahoo and they offer hosting. I know Gmail does as well. A search
for web host companies lists many. Here are just a few:

There are plenty to choose from. But before you pick up that phone or start sending
email you need to understand what you expect from a web host. There are many
things to consider:

Any time there is a problem or malfunction I want an immediate response.
Free AdWords: AdWords (Google AdWords) is an advertising service for businesses
that want to display ads on Google s advertising network. The program enables
businesses to set a budget for advertising and only pay when people click the ads.
The service is focused on keywords.
Site backup: A host that includes backup with their service can be important. It is
quicker and easier for the host to automatically load the backup if they have a server
problem. In many instances, this is transparent.
I have received an email with one of my other businesses where the host notified
me my backup was loaded. They had a server crash and initiated a second server.
They reloaded all backups to ensure all content was up to date. The entire switch
over process took a minute and a half. But they still notified me of the action.
If the host does not offer backup, then all responsibility of reloading the site is in
your hands. I keep a current backup. But many do not. They just design, upload and
then let the site run.
Captcha Test: The web host can also help with responses to your site. If you use a
form the host can set up entries the responder must include or do to verify a human
is responding and not a robot. This will save a lot of time sorting through spam.
Security: Work with your host to set up security. Set security as best you can, to
avoid hackers, virus and other
Difference Between Plant And Animal Cells

Purpose To identify the difference between plant and animal cells, recognize their
structures, and to better understand the various functions of those cell organelles.
II. Background In 1665 Robert Hooke used an early light microscope to look at a
thin slice of cork. Under the microscope the cork looked to have thousands on empty
chambers, which Hooke noted looked like cells , so he coined the term.
Anton van Leeuwenhoek was a Dutch scientist who was named the father of
microbiology. He was the first person to look at living cells and bacteria under a
slightly more advanced single lens microscope in 1676 and 1683.
Matthias Schleiden was a German scientist who observed different plants in the late
1830 s. His observations concluded that the plants were all composed of cells.
Another German scientist, Theodor Schwann, observed that animals were also
composed of cells.
Later on, Rudolf Virchow concluded that the nucleus was the structures responsible
for cell division, which created the third part of the cell theory, stating that all cells
came from other pre existing cells.
The Cell Theory is as follows
1. All organisms are composed of one or more cells
2. The cell is the basic unit of structure in organisms
3. All cells come from pre existing cells

Earthquake In London
Body One: To begin with, London goes through the story by just giving people the
gist of the people who met the violence of the earthquake while Anderson focuses on
one discrete person even though many have had contact with the disaster we call
Katrina. London informs us of the victims but doesn t name them in detail. With me
sat Japanese, Italians, Chinese, and Negroes a bit of the cosmopolitan flotsam of the
wreck of the city ( London 416). London clearly gives the race of the victims that
surrounded him, although he doesn t include the specifications of a normal human
being like a name or physical appearance. He informs the reader about the earthquake

London informs the reader of the zone briefly, and the impact the earthquake had.
At half past one in the morning three sides of Union Square were in flames
(London 416). Chiefly, London babbles mostly on the destruction that the fire
caused to Union Square. He doesn t seem to be cautious of the area called Union
Square, but just the fact the fire visited it on it s path. The author doesn t seem to
give much information of what Union Square is, or why the fire hitting it was so
crucial. By Wednesday afternoon, inside of 12 hours, half of the heart of the city
was gone (London,413). In particular, London clearly clarified that half of San
Francisco was devoured by the earthquake. Also, London doesn t include specifics
about what was included in the half that was affected by the fire, he just gives the
understandable idea of it. He doesn t give a reason why that side is included in the
heart of San Francisco, he just informs the reader of the idea that some of San
Francisco s proudest monuments were destroyed, but he doesn t precisely give
which. On the contrary, London mentions areas that deal with Katrina, but he makes
sure to give facts of what the place is home too, and the amount of destruction
Katrina really caused. Until the nineteenth century, the Ninth Ward was a swamp,
and, even after it became home to a black and immigrant white community, and was
drained (in that order), it was ruins, but there was no withstanding the onrush of the
flames (413). Clearly, Anderson goes into the history of the Ninth Ward and specific
details about what the Ninth Ward is, who lived there, and how the disaster
impacted. This helps Anderson create empathy by showing how priceless it was, but
now it is all destroyed. At 2037 Desire, a block past Petrie s home, three
The I Reasonably Enjoyed Reading The Loudest Duck
I reasonably enjoyed reading The Loudest Duck; it was very informative and gave
me very different points of view. It hit the ground running with a statistic that as of
2010 there were 13 women and 4 blacks that were CEO s for Fortune 500
companies (Liswood 3). These proportions are drastically lower than what it would
be if it followed the population of the U.S. Looking at this simply, it shows that
females and blacks (along with other non dominant groups) are disadvantaged in
some way along the path to becoming a CEO of a great company. This is in
agreement with the PowerPoint from the Africa and Diaspora event, which showed
that blacks and other races were being disproportionally put imprisoned and killed.
The Loudest Duck describes the differences between the dominant group and the non
dominant group through the symbolism of the dominant group as an elephant and
the non dominant group as a mouse. The idea is that the elephant doesn t needto pay
attention to what the mouse does or care about its thoughts, but the mouse needs to
learn the elephant s behavior and the way it reacts in order to survive being around
the elephant (Liswood 31 41). This was a very clear way of explaining the
difference and I think it fits the US on many different ways. At a national level many
citizens of the US have very little knowledge of what happens in other countries, other
than what the media tells us about what the US is doing, but citizens of other
countries actually pay
Essay On Cardiac MRI
Theory The pixel time profiles in cardiac MRI are extremely organized when we
have perfect gating and breath holding. Some penalties for example; temporal
Fourier sparsity (to exploit low temporal bandwidth), temporal total variation (to
exploit smooth pixel time profiles) or low rank penalties (to exploit the redundancy
between the pixel time profiles) can be utilized to make the recovery from under
sampled data well posed. However, the compactness of the signal representations will
be extensively degraded in the presence of inter frame motion, which can emerge due
to breathing or inconsistent gating; because of which, the performance of the above
schemes will be extensively compromised. We propose to defeat the above limitation

The regularization term in Eq. (1) promotes the sparsity of the deformation corrected
datasetгЂ– TгЂ—_Оё.L, instead of L. Here, О¦(u) indicates an arbitrary prior to
exploit the redundancy in the data; О» is the corresponding regularization parameter.
The primary advantage of the proposed algorithm is that it can be utilized with any
spatio temporal priors on the deformation corrected dataset. The particular priors can
be chosen relying upon the particular application. The capability of the algorithm to
handle arbitrary image priors makes this methodology definitely different from
classical motion compensation algorithms that register each frame to a specific fully
sampled frame. The deformation field in Eq. (1) is assumed to be parametrically
represented in terms of the parameters. For example, О is the set of B spline
coefficients if a B spline model is used to represent the deformation field as in [24]
and [25]. In this case, the spatial smoothness of the deformation map is controlled
by the grid spacing of the B spline map. The spatial smoothness requirements can
also be explicitly forced using regularization constraints on the deformation field as
in [26]. Our approach is closely related to [26]. We suggest to use a variable
splitting approach [27], [28] to decouple the original problem in (1) to simpler sub
problems. Specifically, we split the deformation from the l_1 norm by introducing an
auxiliary variable g. This enables us to reformulate the unconstrained

The Russian Revolution of 1917 was unsuccessful because of how it did not
accomplish the initial goal of establishing communism, internal social and economic

opposition to the Tsar, who was viewed as incompetent. The war was also important

Due to Russia s sheer amount of citizens in the country, it resulted in a
overcrowded society, poor housing along with poor living and working conditions
(created by economic problems in Russia) led to social tension in cities. In terms of
land and agriculture, the Russians had methods that were inefficient and backwards
as they still used wooden ploughs and very few animals and tools. With not enough
land to go around (due to the controlling of private property), vast expansion of
peasant population in the later half of the 19th century led to overcrowding and

Medicare, Australia s national public health insurance, provides universal health
coverage for citizens and permanent residents in addition to people with temporary
visas from countries with which Australia has reciprocal arrangements. Medicare
covers inpatient care in public hospitals for free or subsidized access to
comprehensive medical services (Mossialos et al., 2015). Citizens may choose to
buy private insurance to cover more health care options and to cover items not
covered under Medicare for example ambulance services. Medicare gives
Australian residents access to health care and is partly funded by taxpayers who
pay a Medicare levy of 2.0% of their taxable income (Ato, n.d.). The first contact
with health services one may need would involve a visit to a general practitioner,
who may refer the patient to a specialist, diagnostic testing, medication for the need

Nora And Torvald
For centuries, societies have judged people on how they act and look out in the
open. Because of these judgements, families and individuals often find themselves
with dueling personas when it comes to their home life and public life. These
differences can cause strife in marriages and identity issues. In A Doll s House by
Henrik Ibsen, a married couple named Torvald and Nora battle with appearance vs.
reality. Ultimately, the pressure caused by society s expectations is too much for
their marriage to survive. Torvald and Nora have distinct differences in personality
inside and outside their home. To the public, Torvald seems to be a strong, family

relationship isn t loving. In reality, Nora is independent. Although she is secretly
saving money and doing what s best for the family, she takes this treatment from

discussing her secret of borrowing money to Kristine, Nora explains that if
Torvald were to ever find out, it would utterly upset the relation between us; our

of Nora keeping up the appearance of a happy marriage. When Kristine asks when
she will tell Torvald, Nora exclaims when it doesn t amuse him to see me dancing

marriage is based solely on Torvald s wishes and is anything but happy. At an annual

willing wife. He asks Nora to do a dance called the Tarantella, even though he knows
it makes her uncomfortable. Nora fulfills Torvald s wishes and does the dance,
leaving the outside world with a happy image of their marriage. Nora expects

Nursing And Electronic Medical Records
Nursing and Electronic Medical Records Thomas Stinde April 28, 2016 Coconino
Community College Nursing and Electronic Medical Records In our society today,
we have a broad range of computer technology for our use. This technology in the
nursing field is called informatics. Informatics is defined as a combination of
computer science, information science, and nursing science designed to assist in
the management and processing of nursing data, information, and the knowledge
to support the practice of nursing and the delivery of nursing care (Thede, 1).
Nearly anywhere we go, and whatever career we choose we all need to have basic

increase of productivity they can provide, therefore allowing for better patient
care. Computers also allow for hospitals, doctor s offices, and other healthcare

An EMR has the medical information that the doctors and nurses obtain when you
have an office visit. The patient s paper medical record is put into an EMR program

era. Elizabethan entertainment was popular when there was something to
celebrate and it often occurred nightly, but there were different types of
entertainment among the classes in England. Rich would do things which the
poor couldn t do or afford such as watch plays, go hunting, jousts among knights,
and more. The poor or the middle class would simply just listen to travelling
musicians and actors or to watch public plays. Today rich could only have
entertainment, because the poor has to work to feed themselves and has no spare
money to do such lavish things such as watching movies, going to a basketball
game, or go to a concert. During this period women were considered inferior to
men and were not allowed to have a job, this required men to become the sole
source of the family income and to represent it. They would usually work their
whole life to provide for their family and to
Last Night Sharon Olds Analysis
Last Night Versus Seniors What does love have to do with sex? Sex is always
considered a taboo and controversial topic, whereas most think they know
something about love, and they re more than willing to give others unwanted free
advice. However, very few people talk about both in depth together. Last Night by
Sharon Olds and Seniors by Alberto Rios cover a variety of topics, but most
importantly they both cover loveand sex. More specifically, they cover both what the
male and female thoughts are about sex, what their expectations are during the act,
and where love comes into play. Both speakers are memorializing their past
experiences, the experiences between the two are exceedingly different. Both poems
have very similar intentions,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Strategic Analysis
a. Corporate Level Strategy and International Strategy GameStop has mostly focused
on serving Western and affluent markets which are becoming saturated and where
high competition is present, especially in terms of software sales. It is not
maximize its resources to respond to a strong demand for gaming products and
services in existing and new markets. Also, it fails to consider that it should expand
in new markets without being exposed to very high risks in new markets and in
offering new products and services.
b. Business Level Strategy
GameStop is proceeding to its diversification strategy well; however, its financial
status shows stages of decline. It shows falling revenues and net income. Likewise,
either the stocks are undervalued or suggests internal weaknesses. The strength of
GameStop is only with dividends or with respect to shareholders.

Socrates Accepting In Plato s Crito
Socrates, a classical Greek philosopher, is on trail for which he is found guilty for
not paying his respects to the gods recognized by the state in his work and corrupting
the youth. While in jail, his very wealthy friend Crito offers him an escape plan,
which he adamantly refuses. I agree with the reasons that Socratesgave for refusing to
accept Critos offer to help him escape. Socrates had many reason for why he was
willing to die. Escaping prison would go against Socrates beliefs; he feared for the
life of those he loved and he knew he would not have an enjoyable life if he did.
Socrates was extremely loyal to his beliefs and ended up dying for them. In Plato s
Crito, Socrates says I cannot, now that this has happened to us, discard ... Show more

When Socrates was speaking to the Crito, he is asked you are not considering me
and your other friends, are you, fearing that, if you escape, the informers will make
trouble for us by saying that we stole you away, and we shall be forced to lose
either all our property or a good deal of money, or be punished in some other way
besides?(Crito, line 44e) Socrates then responds to Crito, by saying he is taking the
lives of his family and friends into consideration when he makes his decision, which
is understandable. Although his children may become orphans after he dies, they
were already orphans. A father on the run or in hidden, is almost like not having a
father at all. The idea of putting the ones you love in danger because of the decisions
you made in your own personal life is enough to drive someone insane and the guilt
would be unbearable.
Being alive does not mean that you are living. Socrates is a very intelligent man and
he knows that death was his only true escape. If he took Crito s offer, he would be
imprisoned for the rest of his life. He would not be able to do anything and would
have to live in a constant fear of being captured and that is not a live that anyone
wants to live. Socrates s decision not to escape jail was equally for his well being as
well as the well being of the ones he
The Legendary Lebron James
The chosen one, the hometown hero, the traitor, the king, the greatest of all time, or
also known as Lebron James has been through what most kids can t even imagine.
Lebron grew up without a father and moved from house to house, but now he is one
of the most successful men in the world. On April 4, 2014 Lebron is the youngest
player ever to reach 23,000 career points in the National Basketball Association
(NBA), beating Michael, Kareem, and Kobe to this amazing achievement Lebron
still thanks his mother for what she fought through to get him to where he is at
now. Gloria James was only 16 at the time she had Lebron, and Lebrons biological
father, Anthony McClelland was an ex convict uninterested in being a parent, and
he left Gloria to raise Lebron by herself. This is why Lebron uses his mothers
maiden name and not his father s last name. Gloria had many personal problems
and had trouble keeping a steady job. Gloria tried to give Lebron a good life she
just had struggles doing it. Gloria tried to give Lebron everything she could, at a
young age Lebron loved sports so she bought him a miniature basketball hoop.
Lebron James struggled at school, and at making friends because he was
embarrassed about his home life; Lebron found a way to get away from his home
life with basketball and football. Lebron showed magnificent skills in basketball
and football at an early age. Lebron was a freak athlete in middle school. His football
coach saw he had been missing

Alcohol Excretory System
Did you know alcohol has 23 different effects on the body? When you drink
alcohol, it soaks up a person s bloodstream and affects every part of their body.
Drinking a quantitative amount of alcohol has a major effect on the body. If you

muscles, arrhythmia, high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, and heart failure.
Women who drink can experience miscarriages, premature delivery, and stillbirth.
A baby can be born with physical abnormalities, learning difficulties and emotional

Media Bias In The Media Essay
During former U.S president, Barack Obamas presidency, he administrated the
Affordable Care Act. Under the Affordable Care Act, women could receive free
birth control. Employers were required to cover all forms of birth control. On
October 6th, Donald Trump issued a ruling that would allow employers and
corporations to drop the coverage of birth control if they had religious or moral
reasons to do so. This ruling has sparked a variety of responses. Many liberals are
calling it an attack on women while religious and conservative groups are happy
that they don t have to go against their religious beliefs anymore. The media and
news sources were quick to report on this event. However, some news sources have
spun the story in certain ways in order to fit their agenda. The New York Times and
Fox News both twist this event to appeal to certain audiences using bias by headline,
omission, and choice of words while the Kaiser Family Foundation stays neutral.
Mass communication outlets have become fundamental parts of modern society in
the recent years. Americans rely on these media outlets to stay updated on the worlds
issues. However, these outlets know exactly how to shape and influence people
inconspicuously. The News often caters to certain groups and the truth is usually
dismissed. Instead of being informed about the important issues, the media tends to
focus on entertaining topics. Most Americans are not aware that their views are being
dictated by the media and the

Four Kings Pyramid Proof
Filter This routine uses refined Pulp techniques and taxes your reverse spreading
skills while also loading cards from multiple breaks. However, this direct method
strips any visible handling down to a minimum. Obviously it s best to perform this
routine for a larger group as you need at least three participants. EFFECT: Lost in
separate parts of the deck, three chosen cards magically appear trapped between all
four kings initially examined inserted into the middle of the deck by a spectator.
METHOD: Before starting, place the four Kings face down on top of the deck. While
any order suffices, let s assume for the sake of clarity they re in CHaSeD order with
the Diamond on top. Say, In a moment we ll use the Kings in a magical way to...

Once noted, dribble the cards on top. Curl your fourth fingertip, enough to obtain a
break beneath them and square up the cards. At this instant, remove the Kings
from the top of the deck and hand them to a spectator for inspection. We ll assume
they remain in CHaSeD order, with the club at the face. Explain that the four
Kings will help find the three selections somewhere in the middle of the deck. As
you emphasize the middle, use Pulp Friction to control the three selections to the
bottom as you spread the deck between your hands and square up. Retrieve the
Kings and insert them as a face up block into the center of the deck. As you square,
your right hand grasps the deck by the ends. This frees your left hand to pinch the
inner left corner as in Photo. Show the deck and gesture momentarily with your
right hand. Now, place the deck into your right hand in dealing grip. While talking
with your audience further, drop your right hand to waist level and prepare for the
Collector phase as follows. Pull down the lower two selections with your right fourth
finger and obtain a break above them. Now, use your third fingertip to pull down the
third selection (third from the face), obtain a break above
Examples Of Peculiarities Of Whitepaper
Peculiarities of whitepapers in terms of English The definition of a whitepaper is a
very vague notion, as a lot of people have different opinions about what a real
whitepaper is supposed to look like. One of the best definitions is provided by
Graham Gordon who states that it is a persuasive essay that uses facts and logic to
promote a certain product, service, or viewpoint (Graham). Historically, the term
white paperwas first used for special government reports explaining some new
policies. Nowadays, whitepapers are a very important tool in the marketingsphere as
they serve as a means of B2B communication. White papers provide useful
information for business people and help them to make a decision, solve a problem,
get acquainted with new products or technologies or understand some issues
(Graham). The whitepaper as a special document has its own peculiarities in terms of
the language used. With regard to the general writingstyle, it should be clear,... Show

They are used in order to promote or advertise the services of a company. In fact,
they look like tiny books or magazines, and their main purpose is to advertise some
products or services. They are usually very short and contain from 8 to 40 pages,
however, their purpose is similar to other whitepapers: they should be really
informative in order to convey the main message of a company or an organization.
The readers attention is highly enhanced by their visual appeal and interesting
design, close attention to even small details. However, the visual outlook of a
promo booklet, or its eye catching color design does not necessarily guarantee a
wide reader audience. The key to promo booklet success is the combination of
clearly and well written explanatory and informative text with vivid and meaningful
visual aids, such as graphs, tables, diagrams that are aimed to show direct and
reliable examples of a product or service
Washington s Screen Actors Guild (Sag)
Washington got her Screen Actors Guild (SAG) card as a requirement for a

represented a turning point for her, in that it was the first time in her career that she
had made enough money annually to qualify for health insurance under SAG.[14]

Wormwood Addiction Story
Our story starts in a small town called Wormwood. This town was exceptionally
similar to other small towns all around the world in some aspects and drastically
different in others. It was a town where everyone knew each other by name, a
place you couldn t exactly blend into the woodwork and keep your head down.
Word traveled fast here; there were no secrets that stayed secret for long. It was a
dark and dingy place, brimming with claustrophobic alleyways and menacing
shadows. The people were no different. They reflected the town they called home,
all crooked and devious. When you were born in Wormwood, it was unlikely you
would call any other place home. This town sucked you in and sucked you dry; once
you were there, you were there to stay.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She was a strong woman with a cutthroat personality who was unabashedly greedy

advantage. She knew when people saw her they didn t see her sharp mind, not
even Jeremy. What people saw was her flowing ebony waves, her high cheekbones,
and her soft amber eyes. Jeremy was much more average with sandy blond hair,
pale blue eyes, and a lithe body; he wasn t an unattractive man but his wife
outshone him. These two people came together to make one bright and happy
toddler called Amelia, a tiny thing barely squeaking past the age of three. She
inherited the best of both of them, her mother s looks and her father s kind nature.
Amelia was a surprise to both of her parents; their marriage was so new neither of
them wanted to add something that may turn out to complicate their relationship.
When she was brought into this world Jeremy was ecstatic, Claudia was decidedly
less so, not that she would let her husband see. Claudia figured that she still was the
wife of an affluent businessman and had all the luxuries she never dared dream of
when she was a child. This would not affect anything, she would make sure of it,
she would play the role of loving mother and devoted wife even if it pained her to do
so. That plan was all well and good until Jeremy lost his money and
Fdr s New Deal Program
The CCC under his New Deal program, prompted the young males of America the
chance to work and bring in money for their graving families, who were suffering
during the Depression. They were working outside all the time, so it would better
their overall physical appearance, but also their mental health too. FDR used the
CCC to get the young men of America to become manlier. This ties to Teddy
Roosevelt s propaganda about America needing to show off their manliness to the
rest of the world. The CCC brought forth a rejuvenation of the all around health of
the participants of the camps. The outdoor work that the workers were put through
help transform their figures. As the Secretary of Labor, she played a role in the
conditions of the workers the New Dealprograms. Also one of the big proprietors
for the preservation of forest that FDR pushed was Guilford Pinchot. The
Pennsylvania governor liked and advocated for what FDR was pushing for what
the CCC camps intent was. Roosevelt, before his time as governor in 1912, brought
in Pinchot to help boost the popularity of the Roosevelt Jones bill, which put
regulations on deforestation on private lands in New York. Being a student of
forestry, helped Pinchot get his point across with how to implement the conservation
of forests. Pinchot s methods of conservation were based on the timber production
and the soil. Many of the CCC camps were based upon those two things. The people
of Wisconsin at the Coon Valley camp were ecstatic
Disney s Episodic Memory
Episodic memories are memories of a specific event in your life. With episodic
memories, one is able to recall specific details from a certain event in life. These
memories can be of any event such as a birthday party, a trip, or the day you got
your first dog. An episodic memory that I quite often recall and can replay and tell
the story like it was yesterday was Christmasof 2009 when my mom and dad
surprised me with a trip to Disney. This memory will forever have a place in my
memory because Disney was always a place that I heard was truly magical and I
would give up everything to go. So on Christmas, December 25, 2009, everyone was
gathered around the Christmas treeunwrapping their gifts and socializing with one
another. It all started when I recognized and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

response was really weird because she laughed and then she called everyone back
into the room and said, She s about to open it clear the room. At that moment I
knew that whatever it was inside that box was going to make me run wild. So after
everyone came in, my grandmother standing in the corner trying to secretly
record, and everyone else whispering and giggling, I immediately began to destroy
the wrapping paper to come across a box filled with Mickey Mouse ears, Disney T
shirts and blankets, etc. Let s just say I was at this point I was at an all time high,

Ambition Essay

  • 1. Ambition Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of ambition can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires a delicate balance between personal reflection, research, and the ability to articulate complex thoughts. Ambition is a multifaceted concept, encompassing personal aspirations, professional goals, and societal expectations. To address such a broad theme effectively, one must navigate through various dimensions, including psychological, cultural, and historical perspectives. The difficulty lies not only in defining and exploring ambition but also in presenting a cohesive and compelling narrative that engages the reader. Striking the right tone is crucial, as the essay must convey the enthusiasm and drive associated with ambition while avoiding the pitfalls of arrogance or insensitivity. Moreover, the challenge extends to the need for thorough research to support arguments and provide a well-rounded view of the topic. Understanding the historical context of ambition, its portrayal in literature, and its role in shaping societies adds depth and credibility to the essay. Incorporating diverse perspectives ensures a nuanced analysis, making the writing process more intricate. Furthermore, crafting a conclusion that leaves a lasting impression poses its own set of challenges. Summarizing the key points while offering thought-provoking insights requires finesse, as it should resonate with the reader and leave them contemplating the significance of ambition in their own lives. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of ambition demands a blend of introspection, research, and eloquent expression. It is a task that calls for a thoughtful exploration of the subject matter, careful consideration of diverse viewpoints, and the ability to weave these elements into a cohesive and impactful narrative. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or any other writing challenges, a resource like HelpWriting.net can be a valuable ally. Female circumcision, also known as Female genital mutilation, or female genital cutting is a custom that has sparked controversy among many people belonging to other cultures not accustomed to the practice. Within the argument lay a series of debates surrounding the issue as culture and tradition clash with human rightsover whether or not this practice should be allowed. Advocates against the practice draw on the prevalence, perceptions, and reasons for conducting FGM to combat what they believe is a human rights issue. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Women themselves appear to defend this painful custom and take part in performing it on others because of the significance in their culture and society. This is because the issue has to do with women s perception of their role in the world. (Dawla) The World Health Organization divides Female genital mutilation into four major types. The first is called clitoridectomy. This process involves the partial or total removal of the clitoris and, in some cases, only the prepuce. The second type is classified as excision. This is defined as the partial or total removal of the clitoris and the labia minora, with or without excision of the labia majora. The third type is infibulation. This involves the narrowing of the vaginal opening through the creation of a covering seal. The seal is formed by cutting and repositioning the inner, or outer, labia, with or without removal of the clitoris. The adhesion of the labia results in the near complete covering of the urethra and vaginal orifice. This stitching must then be reopened for sexual intercourse and childbirth. The reversal process is called defibulation. The last category encompasses all other kinds of harmful procedures to the female genitalia for non medical purposes. These include things such as pricking, piercing, incising, scraping and cauterizing the genital area. The first and second types are the most common and account for over

Cambodian Refugee s and their adjustment to American Society One of the youngest ethnic groups of Southeast Asians migrated to the United States during the mid 1970s was the Cambodian population. They are considered one of the youngest generations of immigrants in American society along with the rest of the Southeast Asians or Indo Chinese; Vietnamese, Lao, and Hmong. All of the ethnic groups in the Cold War era were seeking political asylum to the States from their respective homeland caused by a Civil War spreading across Vietnam. The presence of settled Cambodians within U.S. soil attracted many of the 1975 refugees to the Long Beach area. Thus it sparked a huge migration movement, but many foreigners faced even greater challenges in their new home. It should be noted that measuring the demographics of the Cambodian American community has historically been challenging; it is widely suspected that the community is repeatedly undercounted by the Census Bureau. A 1992 report of the Census Bureau identified several problems that lead an inaccurate count of this particular ethnic group (Bunte and Joesph Cenus data). They include language barriers, mistrust of strangers and the government due to the post traumatic effects of the Khmer Rouge also known as, Pol Pot Syndrome and the unusual residence and household composition as significantly affected Census counts. To sum it up, the statistics are usually generalized as a whole to easily identify the migration patterns, social behaviors and economic resources of the Cambodian Americans. The,
  • 6. Subway Is Testing A New Rebranding Campaign Overview On August 18, 2015, longtime Subway pitchman Jared Fogle was arrested under a child pornography investigation. Quick to respond, Subway communicated to press via public comment and Twitter on their stance. Hours after the arrest, Subway made public its separation from Fogle and its disgust and lack of knowledge of the crimes committed. Because of their quick response, while they were directly tied to Fogle, most of the negative response was placed on Fogle and not Subway. Moving forward, Subway is testing a new rebranding campaign in Australia that focuses on products, rather than a pitchman. Company History: In 1965, a 17 year old medical school student, Fred DeLuca, opened up a submarine sandwich shop in Connecticut on a $1,000 loan from a friend. By 1982, the chain had opened up its 300th location. In 1984, the Subway sandwich chain was introduced overseas and by 1990, there were more than 5,000 locations. Today, Subway has the most sandwich restaurants in the world at 37,000 locations (3). Known for their freshly baked bread and healthy options, Subway restaurants are located in schools, malls, gas stations, airports and even zoos. In 1995, the Subway began its journey towards becoming a major supporter of motorsports. In 1996, www.subway.com was launched and was featured multiple times in the movie Happy Gilmore (3). In 1999, an article was written about an overweight college student who lost a large amount of weight eating nothing but Subway sandwiches

Shaving lines in hair has also been popular, and Cliff and Phil found themselves challenged when clients would request special designs in their hair in years past. Phil particularly remembers doing a Nike symbol. Cliff mentions cutting a Batman bat signal. The bad thing about that was I didn t even think to charge extra! Bill defers to his sons for special hair designs such as those. Bill trained at a Winston Salem barber school while Cliff and Phil received their barber training in Charlotte. • 11. The Day I Rowed Island Poem Five days we rowed for, all day and all night. The flat water was all that we saw for miles. Solely on the fault of my crew there had been no wind. Spirits were low and every once in awhile a bird would crow, but otherwise the only thing we heard was the paddle hitting the water. The sun drowned into the horizon and met with the water. Pink and orange rays reflected of the sea and the pale white moon began to shimmer, along with the stars. We had rowed for another whole day, and we still had no clue when we would see an island. Patiently we waited to see land. During the summer farmers wait for rain to keep their crops alive. The farmers wait tolerantly trusting the rain with come so the produce does not die. I still did not find anything; the tree was as dead as everything else on this island. In frustration I kicked the leaves below the tree; peeking through the brown pile was a radiant pink petal. I bent down lower to admire the striking flower hidden under the dead leaves. I pushed away the trees leaves and was shocked not only to see something that was alive, but a lotus flower. In the middle of the flower was the lotus fruit that supposedly makes one forget everything they once wanted. With the fruit in my hand I rushed over to the dog and threw the lotus is the air towards the evil head. Flamia s sword like teeth split the fruit in half and was swallowed within seconds. My men bounced up and down in relief and thought the lotus fruit would have the same effect it had on

A phenomenon used by most dancers of colour as dance shoes tend to only come in beige ,pink ,white and black. A White Russian dancer replied to Eric Underwoods post with Why don t dancers of colour use ordinary black shoes . This was not the only racially offensive comment made towards the post and is one of many made daily towards dancers of colour. This is what provoked this investigation. An investigation that provides insight into the obstacles/challenges encountered by African Americandancers with regards to being successful in the world of dance and key figures that have overcome this struggle. There are many major obstacle facing African American dancers that contribute to racial segregation in the dance world. For instance flesh coloured shoes with pink ribbons are the traditional foot wear for ballet which dates back the 1820 s. • 14. The Theory Of Human Development Theory Human development theories are theories intended to account for how and why people become, as they are. These theories provide the framework to clarify and organize existing observations and to try to explain and predict human behavior. It is important to recognize the complexity of human development and the theories that explain human development. (Berger, pg. 23). The three theories that have influenced by development are Jean Piagets Cognitive Theory, Abraham Maslow s Humanism and Erik Eriksons Psychosocial Development Theory. 1. The first Human development theory is that of Jean Piaget s, who believed that all human development and behavior was the product of consistent and reliable patterns of interactions with the environment called schemas. Piaget divided his Theory of Cognitive development into four stages. Each stage is characterized by overall structures and sequences of development, which consist of schemas. Schemas are the primary component of intelligent behavior, which adapt through a continuous process of assimilation and accommodation, in an endeavor to attain equilibrium which is essentially balance. Assimilation is the process of adapting new experiences to fit into existing schemas. Accommodation is the process of changing existing schemas to fit new experiences. The first stage of Piaget s theory of cognitive development is the sensorimotor stage, which is from birth to 2 years old. According to Piaget Infants use his/her senses and motor

Dramas tend to be driven and somewhat dependent on powerful actor portrayals and good direction, rather than CGI effects or action. Dramas tend to include characters that are complex and well developed throughout their films. But perhaps one of the most key elements in dramas are the themes of intense and real struggle centered around the human condition. These themes can be expressed overtly through the plot and story or symbolically through several different film elements. Denis Villeneuve is a director whose all but mastered the art of creating dramatic films, consistently making films that become exemplary models for what dramafilms should evoke in an audience. His three films Prisoners, Sicario, and Arrival do not fall outside of this classification. Each of these are unique in their own respect, yet Denis Villeneuve uses several different thematic elements, particularly color, in all three to craft complex symbols and commentary that reside deep in the recesses of each film s narrative. The first film, Prisoners, is about two regular, All American families whose lives are flipped upside down when the daughters of each family goes missing. Most of the film centers around the investigation and how members of each family cope with their situation. The basic plot of Prisoners isn t very original nor unique to be quite honest, however it s unique use of lighting, cinematography and profound

These bees help pollinate many different plants and the loss of bees will have a great impact on the environment. There is no proven reason why bee population is declining, but there are a few causes that could be the reasons why this is happening. The population of different species of bees are declining, but this can be stopped by a few solutions. The decline of bee populations is a problem. Chensheng Lu, a scientist from Harvard did a study of pesticides and Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) to see if the two were connected. He said, Bees from six of the twelve neonicotinoid treated colonies had abandoned their hives and were eventually dead with symptoms resembling Colony Collapse Disorder (McCoy). According to Lu s research, pesticides were one of the causes for CCD. It caused bees to leave their hives and later cause those bees deaths. Another cause of the decline of bees is habitat loss. As humans build more cities, animals lose more land. The biggest problem for bees is habitat fragmentation. This is when urbanization blocks a creature, like bees, from being able to leave a certain area. This can make it harder for a bee to find food, which can quickly kill an entire colony. Urbanization directly removes the bees habitat and isolates and fragments the area the bees travel. Other problems can include genetic diversity and difficulty finding a mate. This diversity can kill bees just as fast as other some of the other reasons for their death. The bees can not breed as much as which causes their population numbers to go down ( Habitat Fragmentation ). The next cause of bees declining is parasites. Parasites are creatures that live off of other creatures, like a tick or lice. In 1980 s, a parasite called the Varroa destructor was discovered. It is one of the most common parasites in bees. This parasite sucks the blood out of adult and

Improving Health, Gender Equality, Peace, And Stability Education is the catalyst for development and one of the strongest instruments for reducing poverty and improving health, gender equality, peace, and stability. There has been a great improvement in the number of children accessing education especially girls. However, education for females still lags behind due to gender inequality in education provision. Evidently, the trend is more pronounced in rural areas. For instance, it is a common practice in Zambia that the boy will receive education while the girl will be sidelined if the parents have to decide on whom to send to school when dictated upon by various constraints. This is the case in most rural based families with little income. Although the trend does exist in urban areas, it is more prevalent in rural areas. Consequently, there is inequality in leadership, trade, health and many other areas of life. • 21. Don Crow Laws Segregation Laws And Using Music As An Civil... Throughout the late 19th century, African Americans did not have the same rights as white people, which led towards the establishment of Jim Crow laws. Jim Crow laws segregated blacks from whites in a political, educational, and social setting, which created unfair treatment towards people of color. In Devil in the Grove, four African Americanboys, known as the Groveland Boys, were falsely accused of raping a white woman in Florida, which was known as the Groveland case. Thurgood Marshall, who was a part of The National Association of Advancement for Colored People (NAACP), helped to solve the Groveland case, as he was an advocate in fighting against Jim Crow segregation. The labor force, vigilante groups, and legal precedents led towards the establishment of Jim Crow policies by segregating black peoplefrom white people in public areas. African Americans contested these policies by creating legal organizations that overturned cases supporting segregation laws and using music as a way to protest against the Jim Crow policies. In the labor force, there was pressure and unfair treatment towards African Americans, which was a foundational element in establishing Jim Crow laws. Gilbert King wrote, McCarthy learned that whites in Groveland (who accounted for about 60 percent of the town s population of one thousand) were tolerant of blacks, as long as they continued to work in white owned citrus groves. The Negroes do most of the work around here African Americans were

Nephrons perform three basic functions, Glomerular filtration, tubular reabsorption, and tubular secretion. Glomerular filtration occurs as pressure (glomerular blood hydrostatic pressure) forces water and dissolved blood components through the endothelial pores of the capillaries, basement membrane, and on through the filtration slits of the adjoining visceral wall of the glomerular capsule. The resulting fluid is called the filtrate. Most substances in blood plasma are filtered by the renal corpuscle. However, blood cells and most proteins are not filtered. Reabsorption of Na+ is especially important because more of them pass the glomerular filter than any other substance except water. Sodium ions are reabsorbed in each portion of the renal tubule by several transport systems. Active transport of Na+ promotes reabsorption of water by osmosis. The loss of water from the filtrate creates a concentration gradient for some substances, such as K+, Cl , HC03 , and urea, that promotes their

Although it wasn t noon, Bruce was blowing duck calls like they were going out of style. After the initial excitement had settled down, the dogs came back with only five retrieved ducks. Instead of being disappointed, we were amused. You see, we seemed to have hit more air than ducks. Maybe if we would have shot the clay pigeons a few more times in target practice, we would have done better. As opening day progressed, we improved a lot. Our group ended up five short of the 50 daily limit for the ten of us. Since opening day was complete, additional hunting hours could now begin at sunrise. When we got out to the blind, the ducks were once again thick in the air. I don t know why, but as I was sitting in the blind, I remembered a quote I had read in a Field and Streams magazine. Difference Between Plant And Animal Cells CELL OBSERVATION LAB By Alexandra Escaja Heiss, Ashley Reeves, Christine Constant Period G1/B3a Living Systems 10/22/15 Purpose To identify the difference between plant and animal cells, recognize their structures, and to better understand the various functions of those cell organelles. II. Background In 1665 Robert Hooke used an early light microscope to look at a thin slice of cork. Under the microscope the cork looked to have thousands on empty chambers, which Hooke noted looked like cells , so he coined the term. Anton van Leeuwenhoek was a Dutch scientist who was named the father of microbiology. He was the first person to look at living cells and bacteria under a slightly more advanced single lens microscope in 1676 and 1683. Matthias Schleiden was a German scientist who observed different plants in the late 1830 s. His observations concluded that the plants were all composed of cells. Another German scientist, Theodor Schwann, observed that animals were also composed of cells. Later on, Rudolf Virchow concluded that the nucleus was the structures responsible for cell division, which created the third part of the cell theory, stating that all cells came from other pre existing cells. The Cell Theory is as follows 1. All organisms are composed of one or more cells 2. The cell is the basic unit of structure in organisms 3. All cells come from pre existing cells More Information on Cells: Cell size is limited

The author doesn t seem to give much information of what Union Square is, or why the fire hitting it was so crucial. By Wednesday afternoon, inside of 12 hours, half of the heart of the city was gone (London,413). In particular, London clearly clarified that half of San Francisco was devoured by the earthquake. Also, London doesn t include specifics about what was included in the half that was affected by the fire, he just gives the understandable idea of it. He doesn t give a reason why that side is included in the heart of San Francisco, he just informs the reader of the idea that some of San Francisco s proudest monuments were destroyed, but he doesn t precisely give which. • 29. The I Reasonably Enjoyed Reading The Loudest Duck I reasonably enjoyed reading The Loudest Duck; it was very informative and gave me very different points of view. It hit the ground running with a statistic that as of 2010 there were 13 women and 4 blacks that were CEO s for Fortune 500 companies (Liswood 3). These proportions are drastically lower than what it would be if it followed the population of the U.S. Looking at this simply, it shows that females and blacks (along with other non dominant groups) are disadvantaged in some way along the path to becoming a CEO of a great company. This is in agreement with the PowerPoint from the Africa and Diaspora event, which showed that blacks and other races were being disproportionally put imprisoned and killed. The Loudest Duck describes the differences between the dominant group and the non dominant group through the symbolism of the dominant group as an elephant and the non dominant group as a mouse. The idea is that the elephant doesn t needto pay attention to what the mouse does or care about its thoughts, but the mouse needs to learn the elephant s behavior and the way it reacts in order to survive being around the elephant (Liswood 31 41). This was a very clear way of explaining the difference and I think it fits the US on many different ways. At a national level many citizens of the US have very little knowledge of what happens in other countries, other than what the media tells us about what the US is doing, but citizens of other countries actually pay

Some penalties for example; temporal Fourier sparsity (to exploit low temporal bandwidth), temporal total variation (to exploit smooth pixel time profiles) or low rank penalties (to exploit the redundancy between the pixel time profiles) can be utilized to make the recovery from under sampled data well posed. However, the compactness of the signal representations will be extensively degraded in the presence of inter frame motion, which can emerge due to breathing or inconsistent gating; because of which, the performance of the above schemes will be extensively compromised. We propose to defeat the above limitation by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The regularization term in Eq. (1) promotes the sparsity of the deformation corrected datasetгЂ– TгЂ—_Оё.L, instead of L. Here, О¦(u) indicates an arbitrary prior to exploit the redundancy in the data; О» is the corresponding regularization parameter. The primary advantage of the proposed algorithm is that it can be utilized with any spatio temporal priors on the deformation corrected dataset. The particular priors can be chosen relying upon the particular application. The capability of the algorithm to handle arbitrary image priors makes this methodology definitely different from classical motion compensation algorithms that register each frame to a specific fully sampled frame. The deformation field in Eq. (1) is assumed to be parametrically represented in terms of the parameters. For example, О is the set of B spline coefficients if a B spline model is used to represent the deformation field as in [24] and [25]. In this case, the spatial smoothness of the deformation map is controlled by the grid spacing of the B spline map. The spatial smoothness requirements can also be explicitly forced using regularization constraints on the deformation field as in [26]. Our approach is closely related to [26]. We suggest to use a variable splitting approach [27], [28] to decouple the original problem in (1) to simpler sub problems. Specifically, we split the deformation from the l_1 norm by introducing an auxiliary variable g. This enables us to reformulate the unconstrained
