Psalm 78 Is The Psalm Of Remembrance
Psalm 78 is the psalm of remembrance. In the beginning, the psalmist commands the attention of
the present age to what we have heard and known. We should not conceal them from our children,
but it is our responsibility to tell the generations to come to praise the Lord about his strength and
wondrous works he has done. This is such a good reminder for me! Sometimes we are influenced
by the value of this world and we pay too much attentions to teach the children the knowledge of the
languages, sciences or arts, but we forget the more important thing is to help our children put their
confidence in Godand fear the Lord since they are still young. In the Psalm 78:9 39, the psalmist
remembers many miracles God has done for the Israel and how God

Evolution Vs Creationism Research Paper
Evolution vs Creationism
As we all grew up under the guidance and knowledge of our own parents, we had been slowly
molded to accept certain beliefs, while rejecting others. We were also taught to think creatively
and question what we were taught, even from them. The status quo is always changing and
evolving and the problem we find in today s society is that sometimes we see and hear things and
immediately take them as fact, or even repetitively until we believe them as fact with no evidence
to back those things up. In my opinion, we have lost the ability to, not only think for ourselves, but
to truly question the mass amount of knowledge we consume on a daily basis. I feel that this has a
similar effect on the conversation about evolution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As I grew older and learned about evolution my beliefs were strongly challenged with no merit.
The problem I had with both scenarios was that they are both THEORIES. A good example of
me questioning what these theories actually meant is when I went through grade school, the
pledge of allegiance had been removed because it had the word God in it. As a young child I
questioned the fact of why I couldn t say it in school. Later on, as I entered high school, our class
had scratched the surface on evolution and I wondered why we were not taught creationism as well,
and why we were not allowed to make our own decision of what we were being taught throughout
school. According to a Gallup poll of 1,016 U.S. adults about 45 percent of those surveyed favored
the statement God created human beings in their present form within the last 10,000 years (Fitch
1). If the survey showed an almost even split of both theories then why are we forced to learn only
evolution in schools? Scientists and science educators have concluded that evolution should be
taught in science classes because it is the only tested, comprehensive, scientific explanation for
the nature of the biological world today that is supported by overwhelming evidence and widely
accepted by the scientific community (National Academy of Sciences 53). As a society that has
proven itself wrong time and time again how can we for sure say the Big Bang theory is where
our ancestors came from and everything around us came to be? The problem with religion is that
there are many of them and they each have their own opinions. If creationism were to be taught in
schools, it would be too complex to tailor a way for it to be accepted by every one of them. In this
conflict of interest, the final

Rock And Roll Impact On American Culture
Rock Roll
Rock Roll is a form of popular music that emerged in the United States in the late 40s and early
50s from a fusion of blues, country and gospel, boogie woogie, swing and folk music. All of these
influences combined into a simple song structure, with 12 bar blues being one of the most
significant characteristics, that was often repetitive, fast, danceable and catchy. In fact, blues had the
biggest impact that gave birth to Rock Roll. Typical instruments of Rock Roll include electric
guitar, piano, bass, drums, horns and vocals. It is an important genre of music because it has the
power to not only influence but persist through generations of people and has had a huge impact on
American society by consistently setting the trend for pop music. Just like its influence on other
forms of music, Rock Roll had also influenced lifestyles, fashion, attitudes, television, language and
dance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As people immigrated to America mostly from Africa and Europe, they brought their music with
them, exposed it to each other and started to pick up these different styles. There comes the mixture
of African musical tradition with European instrumentation that caused a cultural collision later
known as Rock Roll that gains a wide audience of both white and black teenagers. Radio stations in
these years with its increasing popularity helped the development and spread of gramophone record
and African American musical styles such as jazzand swing which were taken up by white
musicians. Other technological inventions arrive at this time, for instance, electric guitar, amplifier
and microphone. Likewise, a rise of independent record labels like Sun (Memphis), Ace (Jackson,

The View that Schools and What Happens Within Them are the Main Causes of Social Class
Difference in Educational Achievement
* The reproduction of Social Class inequalities is the idea that working class children don t
succeed as well as middle class children in education and do not possess the cultural capital

(b)
* Financial Factors Some parents may earn more money than others so they can afford to choose
which school the child goes to.
* Social Class If a parent was more Middle Class, they would have more involvement in the Childs

(f) Assess the view that schools and what takes place within them are the main causes of social class
difference in educational achievement.
The above question is telling us that school and the education system are what cause social class.
Social class is where people have similar positions usually measures by education, occupation and
income. In my essay will include sociological evidence and theories exploring if social class is due
to schools and what goes on in them.
The first piece of evidence we can use to support the above statement is a Marxist point of view
about education. Bowles and Gintis (71) argue that meritocracy (your social position is based on
your effort and ability) is a myth. He believes that the educational system works against the
interests of the working class. Their correspondence theory they argued that there were a
correspondence between the social relationships at school to the social relationships at work. An
example of this is schools and work reward on external principals. In school you get rewarded
with certificates, while in work you are paid a wage. This relates to the question because it shows

The Performance Challenges Of Electra Products Success Essay
1. INTRODUCTION
Electra Products, who was an industry leader in the manufacture and retail of electrical supplies for
many years, is today experiencing a declining market share amidst growing competition. This
challenges the company to be innovative and adaptable as it seeks to rediscover its competitive
advantage. Unfortunately, the organisation is characterised by low levels of employee engagement
and trust which makes it resistant to change.
Commissioned by Ms Russel, the aim of this report is to analyse the performance challenges
limiting Electra Products success and to provide recommendations for workplace development.
The insight this report provides is limited by the information supplied on Electra Products which
pertained mainly to the monthly meeting introducing a new era of empowerment. Assumptions have
therefore been made for the purposes of completeness. Giving consideration to the history of
downsizing it is assumed that the organisation is pursuing a no growth to low growth business
model (Cameron, 1994) while looking to improve flexibility and market responsiveness in a bid to
rediscover their competitive advantage in response to the drop in market share (Porter, 2011).
Further assumptions are that Harry is representative of a significant portion of the company s
workforce, and that workplace trust and staff retention were historically good.
A review of the organisational behaviour at Electra Products identified a common goal between
management and

Lack Of Schools In Schools Essay
Lack of Schools for Girls When you walk through the streets and enter into the houses of the
village, you will notice boys and girls from the same family and parents but with a big difference
between their lives. You will see the boy with ultimate freedom and many options to live the kind
of life that he wants but to the other side you will face a girlwith a desperate and hopeless smile
with many wishes and dreams that are always wishes for her. Instead of having pen and books in
her hand, she is doing all the type of hard and physical work all her life. She is always silent and
powerless against the harsh rules of life. Furthermore, when it comes to the rest of her life. She
cannot select the partner of her life with whom she spends the rest of her life. She never had a
book in her hand or learned in school, to know that how she can have her freedom and can chose
whatever she wants for herself. She never went to school and learned that how powerful she is
and what big things she can do. That is the kind of life that a girl has in province of Wardak,
Afghanistan. Lack of girls school is a big problem in the Wardak, Afghanistan, and in order to
solve it religious leaders and seniors of the province, and government can have a big role.
Lack of Schools for girls is a key problem in Wardak province. This problem is the biggest hurdle on

Examples Of Superheroes
Superheroes When I was 11 years old, I read comics on superheroes and enjoyed the way when
they would rescue people even when those people didn t know their heroes identities. I d always
thought to myself, What was the purpose of superheroes and what do they do? Then I later
realized that superheroes help save the world and people who are in needof help. These books and
comics of superheroes had changed both my perspective and definition of superheroes. Some
superheroes are just ordinary people, who are willing to perform helpful acts to others. Being a
hero is about performing helpful acts that help people without a desire of a reward, sacrificing
their lives to save others, and making positive changes in someone else s or your life. Heroes
stand up for what s right by performing services that helps people. People that perform good
deeds are considered heroes. As a matter of fact, according to the text, What Makes a Hero , First,
it s performed in service to others in need whether that s a person, group, or community or in

People who most of the time sacrifice their life shows bravery, which is an important factor to
being a hero. For example, according to the article, What does a hero look like? Not what you
think , A hero can be brave and willing to sacrifice his or her own life, but I think we all have a
hero in us someone who is unselfish and without want of a reward, who is determined to help others
(Gibson, https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au). This quote states that a hero sacrifices his or her own
life to help others in need, which shows that the hero is fearless. Not only that, but the hero would
show that they won t really care about themselves, but only fulfilling the needs of others rather than
themselves. Therefore, being a hero is showing fearlessness by sacrificing their own

Gender And Gender Identity
In light of performativity, political transformation via hegemonic cultural practices continues to
advocate for gender parody. Overall, the recent exploration of alterity ethics complements
performativity politics by exploiting the subversive potential of gender identity as well as female
identity. For the oppressed individuals, power should be subverted via political strategy guided by
the consequences and punishment with the objective of maximizing the good in the society. In
other words, performativity politics described by the recent works of Butler takes the form of
action consequentialism. Still, Butler s politics is reversed by the ethics without coming to a
satisfactory position.

People are under constant duress from the society to conform to the gendered performance
stipulated by the traditional norms and culture. According to Severiens, the philosophical account
of gender identity evolves in the context of interpersonal bonds and enculturalization, and social
realities that shape a person s identity (3). Even so, cultural discourses analysis plays a significant
role in acknowledging the difference that exists between texts; therefore, different modes of
communication influence the interconnection between the text and the cultural meaning the
discourse. Besides, the discourse analysis of culture provides more information on the
communication pattern as well as the generic behavior from the cultural situation and the context of
the social situation. In this case, the intricate weave of cultural psychoanalysis contests the
conception of the previous theme that exists before cultural identities. More radically, the
proponents view of the feminist distinction between gender and sex. Still, the political stakes at the
institutions emerge from the cultural constructs of sex to contribute to the aspect of political identity.
Cultural Discourse of Gendered Performativity
The Michel Foucault theory in the Gender Trouble asserts that gender is a predominantly cultural
agent that operates on the body to constitute the concepts of femininity and masculinity and at the

The Wedding Cake Model of the Criminal Jusice System
CHAPTER 1
Myth v. Reality
Many people form opinions about the criminal justices system from the media. But how true are
these images of justice?
Developing the criminal justice system
Introduction London Metropolitan Police was the first police agency and was developed in 1829.
The first police agencies in the United States were in Boston (1838), New York (1844); and
Philadelphia (1854). Criminal justice system was first recognized in 1919, by the Chicago crime
commission.
The modern era of justice

The criminal justice assembly line
Herbert Packer sees each stage of criminal justice process as a decision point through which cases
flow. Most criminals go undetected. If an offender is arrested, very few go to trial, get convicted
and sentenced to prison.
The informal criminal justice system
Introduction: While most people consider the system as an adversarial process, many cases are
settled in an informal pattern of cooperation between the major actors in the justice process. (The
prosecutor, defense attorney, judge, and other court personnel.)
The wedding cake model of justice Samuel Walker describes the informal criminal justice process
as a four layer cake.
Layer I involves celebrated cases (e.g. Lindsay Lohan and O.J. Simpson). Usually these cases
receive the full array of criminal justice procedures
Layer II involves serious felonies (e.g. rape, robbery, burglary). Here these offenders often receive
a full jury trial and if convicted, usually a prison sentence.
Layer III involves less serious felonies, offenses committed by young or first time offenders, or
involves offenders known to one another. These cases are usually dealt with plea bargain, reduction
in charges or probation.
Layer IV involves misdemeanors (e.g. shoplifting, public drunkenness, minor assault). This is the
bottom layer of the cake and the biggest. (Millions of case) Few defendants exercise their full

Realism In The Alchemist
The Alchemist is one of Ben Jonson s four extraordinary comedies. The most earliest recorded
execution of the play happened in Oxford in 1610 by the King s Men. In The Alchemist, Jonson
unashamedly ridicules the imprudences, vanities and indecencies of humanity, most quite
eagerness prompted credulity. Individuals of every single social class are liable to Jonson s
heartless, sarcastic wit.
In The Alchemist the master of the house, Lovewit goes to countryside to avoid th palgue. With his
lord Lovewit gone, the sharp butler named Face builds up a plan to profit and interest himself. He
puts the plan vigorously with the assistance of a conman, Subtle, and Dol Common, a prostitute.

There s likewise art.
Ben Johnson plays with the idea of meta fiction in the whole play. Alchemyin The Alchemist is
shorthand for the figment of the theatre.
All things considered, what s a greater amount of a catalytic procedure than transforming average
citizens into sovereigns, witches, dukes, and divine beings? Or, on the other hand beet juice into
blood? Or, then again cardboard into swords and mythical serpents? Or, on the other hand modest
thwart into inestimable gems?
Since that is precisely what happens in front of an audience. We pay great cash to go see a show
knowing very well indeed that what we re going to see isn t genuine. We suspend our incredulity
and get tied up with the display that strangers are falling in love, passing on, and deceiving each
other right in front of us. We pay for a lie... and we cherish each moment of it.
How about we look again at Surly s quote about alchemy:
Alchemy is a pretty kind of game, / Somewhat like tricks o the cards, to cheat a man / With
charming.

Coronal Mass Ejection Essay
Coronal Mass Ejection also known as CME is usually created around the sun s surface by
magnetic reconnection. CME is a large bubble of gas and magnetic field lines that are emerged
from the sun. There isn t a full proven understanding of how CME s occur but Astronomers have
come to a theory that because the sunis a fluid, the turbulence gets kinks that get shot out into
space in any direction as a superheated gas. The gas that is ejected from the sun is made of
protons and electrons carried through solar winds. This gas is known as plasma and can
accelerate over 1 million miles per hour and reach Earth that is 93 million miles away in less
than 4 days. When the sun is most active Coronal Mass Ejections can happen multiple times per
day however, it usually occurs once every 5 days. Its definition is the effect on earth if a massive
event in the result of struggling to survive. This refers to a specific form of continuing education
that helps those in the medical field, maintain competence and learn about the new and
developing area in their own field of work. Content for these programs is developed, reviewed,
and delivered by faculty who are experts in their individual clinical areas. These activities may
take place in live events, written applications, electronic media, online programs, video, or audio.

Napoleon s Tactics Of His Empire During His Reign As Emperor
Ambitious. Methodical. Precise. These are some of many words that could describe the
strategies that Napoleon used to amplify his empire during his reign as emperor. Arrogant.
Exorbitant. Unplanned. These words can also be used to describe some of Napoleon s warfare
strategies. Inspired by other world leaders and empires such as Alexander the Great and Julius
Caesar, Napoleon in many ways stood on the shoulders of giants. He saw the possibilities and
prospects available to him through conquest and subjugation of neighboring countries. It was both
this opportunistic and arrogant attitude that led to his successes and downfalls. After considering

Rosemary), superior morale, and large numbers in the army. These tactical choices made Napoleon
a force to be reckoned with. In the beginning of his career, he was very successful in terms of
military tactics and taking control of different countries. Take, for example, the First Italian
Campaign of 1796, where Napoleon s troops were outnumbered by about 25,000 soldiers. By
observing the troop s movements and tactics, he discovered their strategies and using reasoning, he
scattered the opposing forces and took each portion on separately. His strategy is described best in
the following: When faced with superior numbers, he would divide the enemy army and defeat each
section individually by skillfully deploying his reserves at the right time and place. When faced
with inferior numbers, he would smash into an opponent s flank, distracting them and damaging
morale. (St. Rosemary) It is said that Bonaparte had accomplished virtual miracles, [...] defeating
three different Austrian commanders, despite his inferior troop numbers and artillery and
nonexistent logistical support. (Schom, pg. 58) It was a close battle, and the French army may have
nearly lost, but Napoleon did manage to keep his troops stable enough to succeed against the odds.

Bankruptcy This option removes a good portion of debt entirely, with a few exceptions, such as

Which option is right for you will be determined by your current financial situation. For those who

Analysis Of Diving Into The Wreck By Adrienne Rich
Is it possible for words on a page to become a painting in the mind? After plunging into Adrienne
Rich s Diving into the Wreck, it is apparent that words on a page can come to life in the mind of
the readers. Rich uses a vast amount of describing words, and a setting of a scuba diver to allow
readers the ability to acknowledge and understand the difficulties life may imply upon humankind.
Throughout the next few paragraphs, it is evident that certain elements of poems can become a
large factor in allowing the reader to get more out of a poem, rather than just words on a page. In
summary, Adrienne Rich gives the reader a depiction of a person dealing with one or even many
difficult intricacies in life through the symbolization of scuba divingin a large body of water (Mays,
2014, p.581). Whether that be national issues, personal relationships, the death of those close by,

Bathhouse Row History
Have you ever wanted to take a bath with other people? Now that might sound very disturbing, but
you would be in separate bath tubs, that is beginning to sound a little better, but you would
probably still want a separate room for privacy. Well you wouldn t get that kind of privacy if you
went to Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs, Arkansas that provide bathingand therapeutic practices.
Bathhouse Row is a line of bathhouses located in Hot Springs National Park. These bathhouses
were included with four parcels to preserve 47 natural hot springs in 1832. The first bathhouses
were log and wood frame structures, built from 1830 to the late 19th century. People would go here
to bath in the natural springs, because it was soothing for therapeutic uses. ... Show more content on

Hale, and was the first of bathhouses to offer modern conveniences.
The last building and also the most northern building is the Superior, completed in 1916. The
building is two stories, with an L shaped basement containing about 23 rooms and more than
10,000 square feet built of masonry and reinforced concrete. The building was damaged by a
flood in 1923 and remodeling was somewhat done in the 1930s. Whirlpool equipment was installed
in 1962 and air conditioning in 1971. Then the Superior closed in 1983 and the furnishings inside
were sold at an auction.
Currently the Buckstaff, Fordyce, and Administration building are the only buildings open to the
public. The Buckstaff is the only bathhouse that still provides baths and other services. Fordyce
was restored in 1989 and is converted into the park s visitor center. Each bathhouse is set back the
same distance from the sidewalk and has green spaces/garden in front. They each have similar
height, scale, and proportions. The needs for bathhouses are no longer needed since the
advancements in medicine and the high costs of medical care have reduced bathing for physical
therapy. For Hot Springs, Arkansas the residents see the bathhouses as a form of architectural core
for downtown. Bathhouse Row is the largest collection of bathhouses remaining in the United

Mission Trip To The Belgian Congo
The story in this book was about a family named Price going for a mission trip to the Belgian
Congo, Africa. It was supposed to be only for a couple months, but at the end they stayed more
than they foreseen. The author lets us see the insight of the events as they go through them from 4
out of 5 of the members of the family; Rachel, Adah, Leah, Ruth May, and Orleanna (being the
mother). The only one who the author does not let us see is from the father s point of view. At the
beginning the mother is worried about the health issues they might have to go through while
staying in the village called Kilanga. While the daughters are more preoccupied in how they are

How Dow Chemical Could Benefit From The Acquisition Of Dupont
Acquisitions and mergers is the growth strategy of many companies today. Sometime a company
may decide to buy shares in another company while other times a company may decide to acquire

agriculture sales are outside the United States. DuPont is one of Dow s major competitors
worldwide and is the second largest chemical company in the United States [E I du Pont, 2015]
and [Investor Relations, 2015]. DuPont has been facing several challenges over the past year. A
recent Wall Street Journal article outlines the challenges DuPont is dealing with as a decline in
sales and disagreements amongst shareholders. DuPont is blaming much of their troubles on the
increase value of the U.S. dollar and foreign currency translations. Shareholders believe that now is
the time to streamline their processes and spin off DuPont into 4 different companies [DuPont

DuPont sales are declining. DuPont has seen their sales growth decline to a negative 2.87% and
their cost of goods sold growth decline to a negative 16.65% [DuPont Financial, 2015].
Dow s Strategic Plan Dow Chemical is known best for acquiring other companies. In October,

Egoism In Ayn Rand s The Fountainhead
Egoism. In many occasions in today s world, egoism is frowned upon. However, to Prometheus
in Ayn Rand s Anthem, the word ego is holy. Although egoism is not approved of in the society
we live in, it is not an unacceptable doing for Prometheus to call holy. Howard Roark, one of Ayn
Rand s characters in The Fountainhead, voiced similar opinions in his speech, The Soul of an
Individualist. Egoismis simply valuing one s own work and ideas, so Prometheus is certainly and
egoist, but egoism can be great in moderation. According to Howard Roark s speech, The Soul of
an Individualist, To think, to feel, to judge, to act are functions of the ego. This quote shows that
ego is an integral part of being human, because all people, individuals or collectivists, think, feel,

When egoism is too strong, the person who is so egotistical can become rude, arrogant, and
pompous. This can happen because the egoist can become so engrossed in his/her own work

moderation, egoism can be fantastically useful for thinking about and developing new things.
In Roark s speech, The Soul of an Individualist, Roark states that No creator was prompted by a
desire to serve his brothers, for his brothers rejected the gift he offered and that gift destroyed the
slothful routine of their lives. His truth was his only motive. Because the creator s truth was his
only motive, he was only fueled to create by his own ego and his pride in what he could conceive
on his own. Without his ego, the creator would have no desire to create. Although harsh egoism
can be harmful, moderate egoism can work wonders. As Roark states, . . . the mind is an attribute

Sociological Imagination In The Military
The sociological imagination is to think of society from a different perspective and as an
individual to take a step back and think how a situation affects the bigger picture. One of the
biggest concerns in today s military is fear of retaliation from supervisors after an individual reports
sexual assault. Within the U.S. Militarythere have been policies put in place such as the
whistleblower protection act, but as we all know when there comes change individuals refuse to
comply. Civilians expect that U.S. Military members act in a more professional manner due to the
higher standards then the general population.
To start off there is absolutely no protection for members who have been sexually assaulted. Just
like any other civilian, service members have a job to go to and perform. Service members are
evaluated based on their job performance, the last concern they need to be worried about is fear of
going to work and being scrutinized by their peers including their boss. Victims that experience
sexual assault are more likely to be discharged from the military than their assailants. ... Show more

St. Pio of Pietrelcina or Padre Pio Essay
Padre Pio has become one of the most popular saints in the world. St. Pio of Pietrelcina or Padre
Pio, was born in the small Italian village of Pietrelcina on May 25, 1887. Then known as
Franscesco, in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, he was born to two peasant farmers, Giuseppa and
Grazio Forgione. The day after his birth, he was baptized at the Castle Church near his home. The
town of Pietrelcinawas very religious and saint s feast days were celebrated throughout the year, this
had a strong influence on the Forgione family. From early on it was clear that Franscesco was a
special child of God. As child he was very pious and decided he wanted to be a priest at a very
early age. At age 16, he became a Capuchin novice and received the... Show more content on

Pio s feast day is on September 23rd and he is the patron saint of civil defense volunteers and

because I found his life very fascinating. I thought it was very intriguing, that Padre Pio,
mysteriously received the signs of crucifixion and the doctors had no other natural explanation
for it. His life is inspirational, because, even though he went through great suffering throughout
his life, he still managed to see God s love for him. Padre Pio believed that with love from God,
came suffering and suffering for the sake of God, helped the soul reach and become closer to
God. An inspirational quote from Padre Pio is, Pray, hope, and do not worry. Worry is useless.
God is merciful and will hear your prayer. (Padre Pio Quotes) This is something I would like to

The History of Windows
Ever since the invention of the micro computer, there has been a definitive war between companies
competing for their share of the professional and private computer market. There have been
hundreds of operating systems produced over the years, most of them were not able to maintain a
solid customer base, and became extinct. There are a few, however, that have eclipsed the computer
world. There is a definite line between consumers for the three most popular operating systems,
UNIX, Macintosh, and Windows. Microsoft, who produced Windows, gained wide public support
almost from the beginning, leading to a near monopolization of the computer software industry.

This version was the last to boast 100% backward compatibility with older windows applications.
It was based on the new Intel 386 processor, which greatly improved speed and reliability. This
version of Windows also first implemented the use of third party device drivers, allowing for
more focus on writing applications rather than device drivers. Graphical upgrades included the
icon based file manager and program manager, making access to data much easier. The addition
of the well known card game solitaire also made its debut in the 3.0 version of Windows.
Another big leap for Windows 3.x was that it could run in three different memory modes
(Windows Products and Technologies History, 2006). Real mode s only use was for the running
of applications built for Windows 2.x. Standard mode was the most common running mode, as it
was most compatible with the 286 processor and 1 MB of memory that were in most computers
at that time. The last was 386 Enhanced Mode, implemented with all the benefits of standard
mode, plus 32 bit addressing and paging for faster memory access. In 386 Enhanced mode, the
user could run several MS DOS based programs, each in their own window, at the same time.
Third party programming support for the 3.0 version exploded, and application companies all
over the world were developing programs compatible with Windows 3.0. In the first year of its
release, version 3.0 sold

Abnormal Psych and Disorders
It is hard to say if the human mind is a fragile or resilient thing. On the one hand, humans are able
to grow and adapt and take on struggles, while on the other, their minds can crumble beneath
pressure from the stressors of life on earth, resulting in a variety of psychological disorders. One
such disorder is post traumatic stress disorder. According to the Encyclopedia of Psychology, post
traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, occurs after an individual experiences a particularly traumatic
event, usually one where there is physical harm or an extreme threat of physical harm (Kazdin,
2000). The disorder was formally recognized for the first time in 1980 when the American

It was found during experimentation that mice that did not produce stathmin were less likely
than other mice to freeze up when confronted with a frightening event, as were mice that
produced more GRP (NIMH, n.d.). Scientists have also noted that different parts of the brain are
involved in the formation and extinction fear memories and that size and structure influence
how well these parts of the brain do their jobs. Since all of the above are dictated by a person s
genes, scientists theorize that there exist genetic quirks that make a person more or less
susceptible to PTSD (NIMH, n.d.). Though there are external factors that could be at play as
well head trauma, a good childhood versus a troubled one, the presence of a support system or
the lack thereof, etc. there is evidence supporting a genetic proclivity toward PTSD in the fact
that identical twins are more likely to both suffer from PTSD than fraternal twins (Oltmanns
Emery, 2012). This means there is a hope that examination of genetic and other factors may one
day lead to the ability to predict who will suffer from PTSD and who will not. One group of
researchers has already noted a correlation between lower IQ, depressive tendencies, and reactivity
and a higher tendency to exhibit post traumatic stress symptoms (Orr, Lasko, Macklin, Pineles,
Chang, Pitman, 2012). Though the study was rather

The Security Features Of Apple Inc.
On December 2, 2015, fourteen people were killed and twenty two were injured in a terrorist
attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California. This tragedy consisted of a
mass shooting and an attempted bombing. The perpetrators, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen
Malik were a married couple. They targeted a San Bernardino County department of public health
training event and holiday party, of about eighty employees, in a banquet room. Rizwan and
Tashfeen were killed in a gun fire battle with police. The FBI recovered an iphone5c used by Syed
Rizwan, The FBI was unable to unlock the phone they recovered. The FBI asked Apple Inc. to
create a new version of the phones iOS operating system that could be installed and run in the
phone s random access memory to disable certain security features. Apple declined due to its
policy to never undermine the security features of its products. The FBI responded by successfully
applying to a United States magistrate judge, Sherri Pym, to issue a court order, mandating Apple
to create and provide the requested software. The order was not a subpoena, but rather was issued
under the All Writs Act of 1789. My argument is that Apple should have cooperated, and found a
way to unlock the iphone 5c, without disabling any security features.

five years before the shooting. The iPhone recovered was a county owned iPhone 5c that is issued to

How do minerals affect society?
Minerals can affect society in many ways for example; Surface mining destroys vegetation across
large areas, increasing erosion. Open pit mining uses huge quantities of water. Acid mine drainage
is pollution caused when dissolved toxic materials wash from mines into nearby lakes and streams.
Minerals is approximately 80 percent of mined ore consists of impurities that become wastes after
processing. These wastes, called tailings, are usually left in giant piles on the ground or in ponds
near the processing plants (Figure 12.9). The tailings contain toxic materials such as cyanide,

Vast numbers and kinds of organisms, mainly microorganisms, inhabit soiland depend on it for
shelter, food, and water. Plants anchor themselves in soil, and from it they receive essential
minerals and water. Terrestrial plants could not survive without soil, and because we depend on
plants for our food, humans could not exist without soil either (Wiley, 2013).
What types of organisms are found in soil? Determine the relationship between soil and organisms.
Soil organisms carry out nutrient cycling, the pathway of nutrient minerals or elements from the
environment through organisms and back to the environment.
What is soil erosion? How can soil become polluted? What effect does soil erosion and pollution
have on the environment?
Soil organisms provide ecosystem services such as maintaining soil fertility and preventing soil
erosion. Water, wind, ice, and other agents cause soil erosion, the wearing away or removal of
soil from the land. Soil erosion reduces fertility because essential minerals and organic matter are
removed. Erosion causes sediments and pesticide and fertilizer residues to pollute nearby
waterways ( Wiley, 2009).
What is the purpose of soil reclamation?
To undertake soil reclamation, erosion protection, Site restoration and reinstatement, taking into

Also it includes resizing of image data. 2.2 Image Segmentation: Image Segmentation is concerned
about segmenting the image into various segments using various techniques. In early days a semi
automatic approach was being used to detect the exact boundaries of the brain tumor. However the
semiautomatic methods were not very successful as they had human induced errors and were time
consuming. A better application of tumor detection was made by introducing fully automated
tumor detection systems. Various methods have been proposed like Markov random fields
method, Fuzzy c means (FCM) clustering, Otsu s thresholding, K Mean s, neural network. In this
project, four different algorithms namely Otsu s method, Thresholding, K means method and
Fuzzy c means and PSO have been used for designing the brain tumor extraction system. Various
segmentation techniques which will be used in this project to segregate the different regions on
the basis of interest are described as follows: a)K means: K means is a clustering technique
which aims to partition a set of observations so as to minimize the within cluster sum of squares
(WCSS). The evaluating function for an image a (m, n) is given as: c(i)=Arg min|mxy2 nxy2|
Where i is the no. of clusters in which the image is to be partitioned. b) Otsu s Method: Otsu s
Method divides the image into two classes of regions namely foreground and background. The
background and foreground regions are selected using the following weighted

Psychoanalyticism In The Tempest
The Tempest Critical Essay
During this course of the play the psychoanalytical criticism can be applied while reading the
scenes in The Tempest. As Freud argues that all humans have a dark side to them, we tend to hide
this side of us as we get older. In the Tempest, Caliban could represent this uncontrolled side of
human nature. Caliban is seen to be the superego which is can be seen to be evident when he does
not wish to receive Prospero s physical punishments. Despite his punishments, his desires fail to
remain within him. Caliban is also missing his mother in this play which leads him to feel
inadequacy. Prospero is one of the only obstacles between him and Miranda. Prospero s desire for
power and control over the characters in the play, shows Freud s theory coming into play, if one
craves power, it is possibly because one has lacked in its childhood.
This play has symbols that represent the imagery in it. The symbol water is often shown
through this play either by saying or showing it. The image of water is often shown to be
deadly. As Ferdinand lost his father at sea, he deems to think that his father drowned as they
were involved in a shipwreck. Water plays a huge symbol and image in this play as the setting
takes place on an Island near the Bermuda Triangle. Water in this play is to be seen as a lost.
Ariel s song leads Ferdinand to think that his father drowned at sea and is gone forever. Ariel s song

Comparing Booker T. And W. E. B. Du Bois
I saw dawn upon them like the sun a vision of a time when all men walk proudly through the
earth and the bombs and missiles lie at the bottom of the ocean like the bones of dinosaurs buried
under the shale of eras. Randall . Dudley Felker Randall born january 1914 in Washington D.C.
growing up in the middle class home where his college educated parents instilled justice, education
and an appreciation for poetry in young Dudley. His father was very much into politics because of
that Dudley and his brother would listen to prominent black speakers. When Randall was about

and W.E.B., which succinctly summarizes differences between Booker T. Washington and W.
E. B. Du Bois in a simple dialogue; In the poem it is about two great leaders of the black
community, Booker T and W.E.B sharing their beliefs. Randall wrote this poem during the
segregation, when African Americans were fighting for their freedom and rights. Booker T see
African American labor work is for the benefit of the black community. Booker T is basically
saying that slavery is not bad and that slavery should not be removed. W.E.B disagrees with
Booker T ,,,he believes that African Americans should stand up for their freedom and not be put
to work as slaves. Randall uses rhyme in the poem to interpret Brooker T perspectives and
W.E.B perspectives. In the first stanza Booker said When Mister Charlie needs a hand to hoe
the cotton on his land, and when Miss Ann looks for a cook, why stick your nose inside a book .
Brooker T is saying that African Americans do not need education because they already have a
job to do as lower calles serfs working for white people. He is saying that slavery is not a bad
thing and that African Americans should stay slaves. In the second stanza W.E.B disagrees, he
said that Charles and Miss can look another place for hand or cook . He believes that African
Americans should fight for their freedom and should be treated as an equal citizen. One of the first
things that doesn t go unnoticed when reading this poem, is that this poem uses rhyme and rhythm.
Many poets were riding away traditional rhyme and rhythm schemes for free verse or blank verse

The Internal Scanning And Strategy Formulation Of Electrolux
The internal scanning and strategy formulation of Electrolux Internal scanning and strategy
formulation are convenient implements for forecasting the prosperity of Electrolux, but the
corporation must stay objective for long term operations. These tools are an indispensable approach
for understanding the competition particularly in China s industry and environmental footprint.
Electrolux discovers their strengths and impotencies through Barney s VRIO framework, Porters
framework questions, discerning the types of industry, and availing Electrolux in determining their
puissance in outperforming the competition. Electrolux is a Swedish corporation that is the global
leader in state of the art kitchen electronics. Deep rooted since 1919 they have established
themselves with consumer insight, people, culture, and sustainability leadership. Ergo, Electrolux
is easily targeted for a business case study. For example, with the highest sale margins in the
United States and Brazil competitors are desperate to discern how this company ticks (Electrolux,
n.d.). As a result Electrolux is the company to outshine. With little effort people can comprehend
why Electrolux is a grand example for understanding Barney s VIRO framework. His system asks
four questions about a corporations abilities with value, rareness, imitability, and organization.
These questions are of equal value to the answers. In fact, an answer of yes to any of the
competences is a strength and

The Dimenon Of The Parthenon
The Parthenon The Parthenon in Athens, Greece, is a giant, architectural temple dedicated to the
goddess, Athena. Likewise, the Parthenon in modern Nashville, Tennessee, is an honorary replica
of the ancient monument. Many historians say it is an exact replica. Without a doubt, it is the
closest most people will ever come to experiencing the greatest temple of ancient Greece. A visit to
the Parthenonin Athenswould have been an immense pleasure; however, the replica in Nashville is
adequately breathtaking. The enormous columns, the carvings along the top, the giant statue
within, and the larger than life bronze doors make this monument something to remember. The
Parthenon and its sculptures continue to live on through the replica in Nashville, Tennessee. The
Parthenon is easily mentioned as one of the oldest monuments in the world. Originally, the
Parthenon was completed in 438 B.C. It is strategically placed atop the Acropolis in Athens,
Greece. The Acropolis simply means high city in ancient Greece (Cole, 39). It is higher in
elevation than all the other land below it, and where Greece s most sacred temples were built.
Also, it was built in such a way that when viewed from afar, you can see the entire building. The
purpose of the enormous building was to be a temple dedicated to the goddess, Athena. According
to Karl Cole, the Acropolis in Athens was the battleground of a fight between Athena and Poseidon,
with reward being assuming the role of the protector of Athens

The Music Of Grunge Music
Grunge Music
Grunge music was one of the most popular genres in the 1990 s, bringing a new style of rock
with gritty distortion and new styles of hair and clothing. One band some may know that was a
popular grunge band in the 90 s was Nirvana, which consisted of lead singer and guitarist Kurt
Cobain, drummer Dave Grohl, and bassist Krist Novoselic. This band was most popular for their
hit album Nevermind . One of their most popular songs on this album, Smells Like Teen Spirit ,
has been and always will be a rebellion anthem for adolescents, empowering them. This message
and it s meaning make this one of the most popular songs by this band to date.
Another popular grunge band from the 90 s, Soundgarden, is infamous for their album,
Supermassive Black Hole , which included the hit Black Hole Sun . This band included members
singer Chris Cornell, drummer Matt Cameron (before going to Pearl Jam), lead guitarist Kim
Thayil, and bassist Hiro Yamamoto.
However, grunge music was not appreciated by everyone. Most adults or elders at that time
thought it was too loud, or that it was devilish music. Even metal and rock bands disapproved of
grunge, including some bands that helped build the genre s popularity. Grunge bands fought for
popularity, which made matters worse. Nirvana s late frontman, Kurt Cobain, made a cruel
statement about Pearl Jam in an interview. He hated the band with a passion. Not because of their
popularity, but the style of their

In the case of Stromberg V. California, Yetta Stromberg was arrested for violating a California
law enacted in 1919. The law made it a crime to have a red flag displayed as a sign, symbol, or
an emblem of not supporting an organized government, in a public meeting area. Stromberg was
arrested when working around San Bernardino, California, at a summer camp for young
Communists. The camp was raided on August 3, 1929 by American Legion members who were
led by George H. Johnson, the district attorney of San Bernardino. This raid was brought by the

Alexis De Tocqueville New Imperialism
NEW Imperialism, being an important step towards bringing peace for people, can also have
disagreers. Europe has seen many transitions in its history; which means every generation had
different ideas about the type of government they would prefer. While Alexis De Tocqueville and
Rudyard Kipling wanted Europe to imperialize, Edward Morel and Aime Cesaire were against it.
Depending on the time they wrote, some of their reasonings were similar and some were totally
new. NEW Alexis De Tocqueville travelled to Algeria twice in order to understand Arab s
situations with French people. At first, he looked at Algeria as a democratic person, because he
also did research on the democracy of America. He believed that if Algerians will be placed
under French administration, they will never be able to succeed because Arabs do not create
new government, but improve the one they already have. They live in Tribal organizations,
which is very hard to break and their way of life is according to the Koran, which gives them
civil and religious laws to be successful. He thought of both sides by saying that Algerians should
have unity, so no foreign power can break in easily, and both Arabs and French will merge at
some point if they will have a same leader. He said, With time, perseverance, ability, and justice, I
have no doubt that we shall be able to raise a great monument to our country s glory on the African

Hair Research Papers
Unwanted facial and body hair can be a source of distress for both men and women. Since the
early 1990 laser has become a widely accepted and a safe method for treatment of excessive hair
growth provided it is done by trained hands. Excerpts from the talk with Dr.Anshul Jain , M.D.
(Skin) regarding myths about Laser HairRemoval.
Q:Which is the best technology for laser hair reduction [LHR]?
A: All over the world, Diode lasers are the gold standard for Laser Hair Reduction. There are other
different lasers available like Nd:YAG and IPL but none meets the results as seen with Diode lasers.
Q:Is Laser Hair Removal painful?
A: There are systems which offer virtually painless hair removal, like SUPRANO PROTM from
ALMA LASERS, world s first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Q: Is the treatment very costly?
A: No, it is much more economical in long run when compared with use of hair removing cream or
waxing.
Q: How many sessions will be needed?
A: Six is the AVERAGE number of sessions. Depending on your skintype, hormone fluctuations,
and your own individual hair growth cycles, you may require more sessions.
Q: What are the expected results?
A: Most patients experience an 80 90% reduction in the amount of hair in a given area; it may be
90 99% for underarms and pubic areas. Normally there are just a few very fine hairs that are left.
Q: How frequent the treatment sessions are?
A: The gap between two sessions is 3 6 weeks. Hair grows in three stages and we try to
synchronize the hair growth to treat as many hairs as possible with each laser treatment. All hair are
not growing at the same time. Anagen, stage of hair growth, is most susceptible to the laser
treatment as it absorbs more energy because it contains more pigment than the other surrounding
hair.
Q: Can all areas of the body be treated with the laser?
A: Yes, with the exception of the eyelashes due to the proximity of the

Second Language Acquisition And Identity Formation
Second Language Acquisition and Identity Formation
Research Question:
What role does learning a second language play in the way one shapes their identity?
Background:
Identity is subjective, not only to the individual to which the identity belongs, but also the way in
which others perceive identity. This means that identity is not solely an individual event, but also
a social one. Without social practices, such as identifying with specific cultures and norms, how
would one know with which customs or cultures he or she identifies? People need to be able to
see variation in the world to decide what parts of society they identify and with which parts of
society they do not identify. One way people may be able to make informed decisions with which
people or customs they should identify is by the languages they speak. Language is a means of
expression. It is a means by which people can communicate and relate to others. Each language
has its own varying culture based on the location of where the language is spoken, as well as the
people who speak that language. Since languages and cultures are related, and cultures and
identities are related, this means that languages and identities are related. If someone speaks a
certain language, she will then be able to identify with the culture behind that language and realize
it is a part of oneself. What happens if a second language is added into the discussion of identity?
What customs are adapted? What are the outcomes?

When I Was One And None
In When I was One and Twenty , Housman uses diction, figurative language, and repetition to
display love and to convey the meaning that falling in love at a young age is foolish. In When I
was One and Twenty Housman uses diction to help get his point across. Diction can be defined
as the word choice and style that the poet uses.In his poem Housman chose to use formal
language. As an example Housman writes The heart out of the bosom was never given in vain;
Tis said with sighs a plenty and sold with endless rue (Housman 11 14). Basically, A.E Housman
is saying that it is better to be poor than to have to suffer from losing someone you love. The word
choice of Housman helps set the tone and makes the reader feel the emotions more intensely.

Animal Ethics Peter Singer
nor does man any moral obligation to consider the interests of these animals. In light of this, one
must question Cohen s moral motivations. If it is scientifically proven that caring for animals in a
humane manner is absolutely vital to the survival of our own kind, what motives must a man who
denies the legitimacy of this necessity have for humanity? It is one thing to make the claim that in
certain circumstances, it is vital that humans use animals as a resource, but Cohen goes even
further to blatantly disregard animal s ability to suffer, and he denies all rights of animals due to
their lack of capacity for free moral judgment (Pojman and Vaughn 817). Cohen also proudly

Singer notes how all discrimination is unseen at some point until the prejudice is forcefully pointed
out; that each person should be willing to exam their most basic, accepted values and criticize our
most fundamental values (Pojman and Vaughn 802). Taking this approach, Singer continues to
question the morality of killing and using animals as a commodity. Singer considers the ideas
discussed earlier, that this determination does not depend so much on the capabilities of animals,
but rather, their sentience. Singer states that the questions is not can they reason, nor can they talk,
but, can they suffer? This idea captures the vital element that Cohen chooses to overlook. The key
commonality between humans and animals is that we both can experience pain and suffering, and
both would rather avoid it. Cohen not only disregards the environmentally harmful effects of his
side of the argument, but he also considers power to be his prime reasoning for considering
animals to be inferior. He acknowledges animal s sentient ability, but due to their lack of what he
deems intelligent capability and moral choice, he sees this as something simply to be accepted as
part of the relationship between humans and

  • 2. Psalm 78 Is The Psalm Of Remembrance Psalm 78 is the psalm of remembrance. In the beginning, the psalmist commands the attention of the present age to what we have heard and known. We should not conceal them from our children, but it is our responsibility to tell the generations to come to praise the Lord about his strength and wondrous works he has done. This is such a good reminder for me! Sometimes we are influenced by the value of this world and we pay too much attentions to teach the children the knowledge of the languages, sciences or arts, but we forget the more important thing is to help our children put their confidence in Godand fear the Lord since they are still young. In the Psalm 78:9 39, the psalmist remembers many miracles God has done for the Israel and how God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Evolution Vs Creationism Research Paper Evolution vs Creationism As we all grew up under the guidance and knowledge of our own parents, we had been slowly molded to accept certain beliefs, while rejecting others. We were also taught to think creatively and question what we were taught, even from them. The status quo is always changing and evolving and the problem we find in today s society is that sometimes we see and hear things and immediately take them as fact, or even repetitively until we believe them as fact with no evidence to back those things up. In my opinion, we have lost the ability to, not only think for ourselves, but to truly question the mass amount of knowledge we consume on a daily basis. I feel that this has a similar effect on the conversation about evolution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I grew older and learned about evolution my beliefs were strongly challenged with no merit. The problem I had with both scenarios was that they are both THEORIES. A good example of me questioning what these theories actually meant is when I went through grade school, the pledge of allegiance had been removed because it had the word God in it. As a young child I questioned the fact of why I couldn t say it in school. Later on, as I entered high school, our class had scratched the surface on evolution and I wondered why we were not taught creationism as well, and why we were not allowed to make our own decision of what we were being taught throughout school. According to a Gallup poll of 1,016 U.S. adults about 45 percent of those surveyed favored the statement God created human beings in their present form within the last 10,000 years (Fitch 1). If the survey showed an almost even split of both theories then why are we forced to learn only evolution in schools? Scientists and science educators have concluded that evolution should be taught in science classes because it is the only tested, comprehensive, scientific explanation for the nature of the biological world today that is supported by overwhelming evidence and widely accepted by the scientific community (National Academy of Sciences 53). As a society that has proven itself wrong time and time again how can we for sure say the Big Bang theory is where our ancestors came from and everything around us came to be? The problem with religion is that there are many of them and they each have their own opinions. If creationism were to be taught in schools, it would be too complex to tailor a way for it to be accepted by every one of them. In this conflict of interest, the final ... • 4. Rock And Roll Impact On American Culture Rock Roll Rock Roll is a form of popular music that emerged in the United States in the late 40s and early 50s from a fusion of blues, country and gospel, boogie woogie, swing and folk music. All of these influences combined into a simple song structure, with 12 bar blues being one of the most significant characteristics, that was often repetitive, fast, danceable and catchy. In fact, blues had the biggest impact that gave birth to Rock Roll. Typical instruments of Rock Roll include electric guitar, piano, bass, drums, horns and vocals. It is an important genre of music because it has the power to not only influence but persist through generations of people and has had a huge impact on American society by consistently setting the trend for pop music. Just like its influence on other forms of music, Rock Roll had also influenced lifestyles, fashion, attitudes, television, language and dance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As people immigrated to America mostly from Africa and Europe, they brought their music with them, exposed it to each other and started to pick up these different styles. There comes the mixture of African musical tradition with European instrumentation that caused a cultural collision later known as Rock Roll that gains a wide audience of both white and black teenagers. Radio stations in these years with its increasing popularity helped the development and spread of gramophone record and African American musical styles such as jazzand swing which were taken up by white musicians. Other technological inventions arrive at this time, for instance, electric guitar, amplifier and microphone. The View that Schools and What Happens Within Them are the Main Causes of Social Class Difference in Educational Achievement * The reproduction of Social Class inequalities is the idea that working class children don t succeed as well as middle class children in education and do not possess the cultural capital required. There were no entry requirements however people were placed in sets based on ability. (f) Assess the view that schools and what takes place within them are the main causes of social class difference in educational achievement. The above question is telling us that school and the education system are what cause social class. Social class is where people have similar positions usually measures by education, occupation and income. In my essay will include sociological evidence and theories exploring if social class is due to schools and what goes on in them. The first piece of evidence we can use to support the above statement is a Marxist point of view about education. Bowles and Gintis (71) argue that meritocracy (your social position is based on your effort and ability) is a myth. He believes that the educational system works against the interests of the working class. Their correspondence theory they argued that there were a correspondence between the social relationships at school to the social relationships at work. An example of this is schools and work reward on external principals. In school you get rewarded with certificates, while in work you are paid a wage. This relates to the question because it shows that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Performance Challenges Of Electra Products Success Essay 1. INTRODUCTION Electra Products, who was an industry leader in the manufacture and retail of electrical supplies for many years, is today experiencing a declining market share amidst growing competition. This challenges the company to be innovative and adaptable as it seeks to rediscover its competitive advantage. Unfortunately, the organisation is characterised by low levels of employee engagement and trust which makes it resistant to change. Commissioned by Ms Russel, the aim of this report is to analyse the performance challenges limiting Electra Products success and to provide recommendations for workplace development. The insight this report provides is limited by the information supplied on Electra Products which pertained mainly to the monthly meeting introducing a new era of empowerment. Assumptions have therefore been made for the purposes of completeness. Giving consideration to the history of downsizing it is assumed that the organisation is pursuing a no growth to low growth business model (Cameron, 1994) while looking to improve flexibility and market responsiveness in a bid to rediscover their competitive advantage in response to the drop in market share (Porter, 2011). Further assumptions are that Harry is representative of a significant portion of the company s workforce, and that workplace trust and staff retention were historically good. A review of the organisational behaviour at Electra Products identified a common goal between management and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examples Of Superheroes Superheroes When I was 11 years old, I read comics on superheroes and enjoyed the way when they would rescue people even when those people didn t know their heroes identities. I d always thought to myself, What was the purpose of superheroes and what do they do? Then I later realized that superheroes help save the world and people who are in needof help. These books and comics of superheroes had changed both my perspective and definition of superheroes. Some superheroes are just ordinary people, who are willing to perform helpful acts to others. Being a hero is about performing helpful acts that help people without a desire of a reward, sacrificing their lives to save others, and making positive changes in someone else s or your life. Heroes stand up for what s right by performing services that helps people. People that perform good deeds are considered heroes. • 10. Gender And Gender Identity In light of performativity, political transformation via hegemonic cultural practices continues to advocate for gender parody. Overall, the recent exploration of alterity ethics complements performativity politics by exploiting the subversive potential of gender identity as well as female identity. For the oppressed individuals, power should be subverted via political strategy guided by the consequences and punishment with the objective of maximizing the good in the society. In other words, performativity politics described by the recent works of Butler takes the form of action consequentialism. People are under constant duress from the society to conform to the gendered performance stipulated by the traditional norms and culture. According to Severiens, the philosophical account of gender identity evolves in the context of interpersonal bonds and enculturalization, and social realities that shape a person s identity (3). Even so, cultural discourses analysis plays a significant role in acknowledging the difference that exists between texts; therefore, different modes of communication influence the interconnection between the text and the cultural meaning the discourse. Besides, the discourse analysis of culture provides more information on the communication pattern as well as the generic behavior from the cultural situation and the context of the social situation. In this case, the intricate weave of cultural psychoanalysis contests the conception of the previous theme that exists before cultural identities. More radically, the proponents view of the feminist distinction between gender and sex. Still, the political stakes at the institutions emerge from the cultural constructs of sex to contribute to the aspect of political identity. If an offender is arrested, very few go to trial, get convicted and sentenced to prison. (The prosecutor, defense attorney, judge, and other court personnel.) The wedding cake model of justice Samuel Walker describes the informal criminal justice process as a four layer cake. Layer I involves celebrated cases (e.g. Lindsay Lohan and O.J. Simpson). Usually these cases receive the full array of criminal justice procedures Layer II involves serious felonies (e.g. rape, robbery, burglary). Here these offenders often receive a full jury trial and if convicted, usually a prison sentence. Layer III involves less serious felonies, offenses committed by young or first time offenders, or involves offenders known to one another. These cases are usually dealt with plea bargain, reduction in charges or probation. Layer IV involves misdemeanors (e.g. shoplifting, public drunkenness, minor assault). CME is a large bubble of gas and magnetic field lines that are emerged from the sun. There isn t a full proven understanding of how CME s occur but Astronomers have come to a theory that because the sunis a fluid, the turbulence gets kinks that get shot out into space in any direction as a superheated gas. The gas that is ejected from the sun is made of protons and electrons carried through solar winds. This gas is known as plasma and can accelerate over 1 million miles per hour and reach Earth that is 93 million miles away in less than 4 days. These are some of many words that could describe the strategies that Napoleon used to amplify his empire during his reign as emperor. Arrogant. Exorbitant. Unplanned. These words can also be used to describe some of Napoleon s warfare strategies. Inspired by other world leaders and empires such as Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar, Napoleon in many ways stood on the shoulders of giants. He saw the possibilities and prospects available to him through conquest and subjugation of neighboring countries. It was both this opportunistic and arrogant attitude that led to his successes and downfalls. Rosemary), superior morale, and large numbers in the army. These tactical choices made Napoleon a force to be reckoned with. In the beginning of his career, he was very successful in terms of military tactics and taking control of different countries. Take, for example, the First Italian Campaign of 1796, where Napoleon s troops were outnumbered by about 25,000 soldiers. By observing the troop s movements and tactics, he discovered their strategies and using reasoning, he scattered the opposing forces and took each portion on separately. His strategy is described best in the following: When faced with superior numbers, he would divide the enemy army and defeat each section individually by skillfully deploying his reserves at the right time and place. After plunging into Adrienne Rich s Diving into the Wreck, it is apparent that words on a page can come to life in the mind of the readers. Rich uses a vast amount of describing words, and a setting of a scuba diver to allow readers the ability to acknowledge and understand the difficulties life may imply upon humankind. Throughout the next few paragraphs, it is evident that certain elements of poems can become a large factor in allowing the reader to get more out of a poem, rather than just words on a page. In summary, Adrienne Rich gives the reader a depiction of a person dealing with one or even many difficult intricacies in life through the symbolization of scuba divingin a large body of water (Mays, 2014, p.581). Whether that be national issues, personal relationships, the death of those close by, or even more personal issues, the reader is able to relate with Rich s symbolization of a scuba diver getting ready for an intense journey through a large, dark body of water. Scuba diving into a shipwreckis an abstract way to relate the thoughts people bottle up inside their bodies into a larger, more meaningful picture, which allows the reader to understand how issues weigh on the mind. Throughout the decade, North Korea s nuclear program seemed to abide by the program, despite multiple violations of banned ballistic missile research and testing. A better application of tumor detection was made by introducing fully automated tumor detection systems. Various methods have been proposed like Markov random fields method, Fuzzy c means (FCM) clustering, Otsu s thresholding, K Mean s, neural network. As Freud argues that all humans have a dark side to them, we tend to hide this side of us as we get older. In the Tempest, Caliban could represent this uncontrolled side of human nature. Caliban is seen to be the superego which is can be seen to be evident when he does not wish to receive Prospero s physical punishments. Despite his punishments, his desires fail to remain within him. Caliban is also missing his mother in this play which leads him to feel inadequacy. Prospero is one of the only obstacles between him and Miranda. Prospero s desire for power and control over the characters in the play, shows Freud s theory coming into play, if one craves power, it is possibly because one has lacked in its childhood. This play has symbols that represent the imagery in it. The symbol water is often shown through this play either by saying or showing it. The image of water is often shown to be deadly. As Ferdinand lost his father at sea, he deems to think that his father drowned as they were involved in a shipwreck. Water plays a huge symbol and image in this play as the setting takes place on an Island near the Bermuda Triangle. Water in this play is to be seen as a lost. They live in Tribal organizations, which is very hard to break and their way of life is according to the Koran, which gives them civil and religious laws to be successful. • 53. Second Language Acquisition And Identity Formation Second Language Acquisition and Identity Formation Research Question: What role does learning a second language play in the way one shapes their identity? Background: Identity is subjective, not only to the individual to which the identity belongs, but also the way in which others perceive identity. This means that identity is not solely an individual event, but also a social one. Without social practices, such as identifying with specific cultures and norms, how would one know with which customs or cultures he or she identifies? People need to be able to see variation in the world to decide what parts of society they identify and with which parts of society they do not identify. One way people may be able to make informed decisions with which people or customs they should identify is by the languages they speak. Language is a means of expression. It is a means by which people can communicate and relate to others. Each language has its own varying culture based on the location of where the language is spoken, as well as the people who speak that language. Since languages and cultures are related, and cultures and identities are related, this means that languages and identities are related. If someone speaks a certain language, she will then be able to identify with the culture behind that language and realize it is a part of oneself. What happens if a second language is added into the discussion of identity? What customs are adapted? What are the outcomes? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If it is scientifically proven that caring for animals in a humane manner is absolutely vital to the survival of our own kind, what motives must a man who denies the legitimacy of this necessity have for humanity? It is one thing to make the claim that in certain circumstances, it is vital that humans use animals as a resource, but Cohen goes even further to blatantly disregard animal s ability to suffer, and he denies all rights of animals due to their lack of capacity for free moral judgment (Pojman and Vaughn 817). Singer considers the ideas discussed earlier, that this determination does not depend so much on the capabilities of animals, but rather, their sentience. Singer states that the questions is not can they reason, nor can they talk, but, can they suffer? This idea captures the vital element that Cohen chooses to overlook. The key commonality between humans and animals is that we both can experience pain and suffering, and both would rather avoid it. Cohen not only disregards the environmentally harmful effects of his side of the argument, but he also considers power to be his prime reasoning for considering animals to be inferior.
