Research Paper for University of Toronto MSc in Pure Math: âVariants of Mersenne numbers will be studied
for primality using Lucas sequencesâ
Developed several polynomial time algorithms for deterministiic primality checking of Mersennne
Varaiants, Integers and Mersenne Variants Under Translation. Parallelelized the computational
determination of pi(x) using many parallel computers or theoretically in a PRAM with complexity
analysis showing it is linear in computational time and also successive approximation of pi(x) to
determine the each value of Legendre formula for B. Also developed an multiple precision algorithm for
determining the logarithmic integral of variable x: Li(x) to very good accuracy and exact to correct pi(x)
for x values larger than 10^17 after truncation after the decimal point.
