Tempered glass panels are easy to install and are stronger than normal glass, able to withstand temperatures up to 295 Celsius. There are two types of tempered glass: heat treated and chemically treated. Heat treated glass is strengthened through a process of rapid cooling after heating to 680 degrees, while chemically treated glass is heated and dissolved in potassium salts at 380 degrees. Tempered glass has many uses including as soundproof panels, in fire stations, for solar panels, and wherever non-fragile glass is required for safety. It can last a lifetime with proper care and investment in higher quality brands is recommended given its long-term value.

Low-emissvity glass (also known as LOW-E glass) is a multi-layer metal or metal oxide film coated
on a glass surface, one or two layers of which are mainly Ag-based. It can effectively reduce solar
energy absorption or control energy loss, and greatly reduce the heat transfer coefficient of glass. It
can reflect 50%~80% of the heat transferred by glass, especially far-infrared radiant heat, while
allowing all or part of visible light to pass. Coated glass. Insulated glass(double glazed
units) processed with LOW-E coated glass not only has good energy-efficient and heat-insulating
effect.
Toughened glass is a type of glass with greater structural integrity than annealed glass. Toughened glass, often called tempered glass, has a different manufacturing process from traditional glass. To create annealed glass, silica is fired up and melted to get a clear, crystalline structure. When it breaks, it breaks into long, sharp shards.

Most early cars did not have a windshield, they were manufactured with an open air design. Drivers wore goggles to protect their eyes from the elements. The windshield became popular because it was an improved way to protect yourself and your passengers from wind and debris. The first windshields were made out of glass. Instead of helping people, the shattering glass on impact would actually cause more injuries, then the windshield was meant to protect. That is why auto manufacturers switched to using tempered glass. Tempering is a special process which makes the glass more shatter resistant.

The Importance and Benefits of HNG’s Safety GlassHNG Float Glass
The usage of glass for architectural needs has gone through a huge change. Previously considered to be fragile and non-durable, the new age glass has been designed to be tougher, safe and secure for industrial, residential and architectural purposes. Aptly named “Safety Glass”, this glass has been treated with new technology to offer better utility to the end users.
HNG Float's Cool Insulating glass
For those who consider glass as a mere breakable and see-through material, need to think again. Glass is no ordinary material now especially the HNG Cool Insulating glass. Insulating glass is hermetically sealed double or triple glass units with cavity of 6mm to 24mm containing dehydrating Argon gas. The purpose of the same is to ensure high energy efficiency and thermal performance.

Glass now comes equipped with properties that do not escalate the situation instead they prevent fire to spread to non-fire sides. They provide integrity and insulation.
1. The tempered glass panels are very easy to install. Before you buy tempered glass
panels you need to know that these glasses are low emissivity glasses and these are
special types of glasses, which takes the reflection of the infrared radiation energy.
There are two different types of tempered glass.
The Feature of Tempered Glass
These tempered glass panels are two
times stronger than the normal types
of glasses. These glasses are powerful
and can hold in temperature as high
as 295 Celsius. The cheap designer
architectural glasses can darken over
time, but this glass will uphold its
position for ages. The glassblowing
technology is used in these glasses
that were used in ancient times.
These glasses were used in churches
in ancient times and ironically, they
are still standing in the same position,
it was fitted hundreds of years ago.
These tempered glasses are used in
modern times for supporting the solar
panel. Manufactures generally gives a
time-frame of how long this glass can be used. But to be general, you can use these
glasses for a lifetime. There are many brands of tempered glasses. Many come in
cheaper brands, but as this is a one-time investment of a lifetime, you might want to
spend a few more to get the best out of these glasses. These glasses are also used by
fire departments when non-fragile glasses are used.
There are many uses of tempered glass panels. These glasses can be sound-proof. So
they are used mostly in telephone booths, police stations and radio stations. As I have
discussed earlier, there are two types of tempered Glass. They are:
Heat Treated
Chemically Treated Glass
2. These glasses are heated to 680 degrees and then are taken to the cooling process
immediately. When these glasses are exposed to cold air, the outer surface of the
glasses gets frozen and the inner layer of the glasses still stays hot liquid. This procedure
makes the glasses stronger compared to the normal glasses. So, if the glasses break
down, they will break into small blunt pieces which will have no potenti to cause
physical harm to anyone nearby.
Chemically Treated glasses are heated and dissolved in potassium salts in a heat of
about 380 degrees Celsius. These glasses are stronger that the heat treated glasses and
are used where protection is needed. Like security glasses, etc.
Heat-treated tempered glasses are used in places where there are more crowd, as it
requires more monitoring and these glasses are safer to use. These are also used for
shower doors, sliding doors, etc. Chemically tempered glasses have more visibility
power and are used in military areas more often. Mostly because of its strength and
uninterrupted visibility.
