New Zealand And England As Film Tourism Destinations Essay
Executive Summary:
This report provides an evaluation of New Zealand and England as film tourism destinations, focusing
on their similarities and differences. The report analyses the two destinations in relation to
stakeholders, the profiles and motivations of consumers and the products offered to tourists. It also
inspects the potential negative and positive impacts, of the development of film tourism in these two
countries and the future challenges that need to be dealt with. The method of analysis used for this
report was quantitative and qualitative. A flow chart, bar graph and box were used and found from
journal articles, tourism websites and industry reports. The findings in this report were that, both film
destinations had similar stakeholders, except one, which contrasted with New Zealand s stakeholders.
This stakeholder is Creative England. It was also found that, consumer motivations in both
destinations varied. Accessible tour products in both locations had many strengths and weaknesses.
New Zealand as a film tourism destination could potentially have future negative environmental
issues. Film tourism may also have potential positive impacts on the country. Both film tourism
destinations may have to deal with, negative social issues in the future. In conclusion, this report has
provided an extensive analysis, of the two destinations similarities and differences. A recommendation
for these two destinations is that, Tourism New Zealand promotes their film tourism

Why GPR Is Important
Bones can tell us a lot, these pieces of hard, whitish tissue makes up the skeleton in humans and other
vertebrates. Without these strong pieces of tissue, we would be able to have the body structure or
move in many different ways, or let alone have the protection we need for our internal organs. Bones
are important when it comes to the structure of human beings and vertebrates. What happens to these
bones when it is time for humans to die? They become buried deep within the earth. The earth was
literally filled with bones, evidently hastily place there or left where the dead fell. (Archeological
Expedition to Arizona in 1895 by Jesse Walter Fewkes). If there could be bones under the ground, we
walk on how are we able to extract such items ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When using GPR it is unable to identify any underground utilities that the user many come across.
Such as determining if the piping that is found is gas, or water, this can become dangerous because
you would have to limit the area of where you dig and to make sure you are not damaging a line that
has been detected. Even though these measurements can be increased your typical GPR can penetrate
the depth of concrete surfaces form 18 24. Other surfaces such as grass can range from a penetration
of 6 10. This can pose a challenge because, the evidence or what is being extracted can be buried
deeper than the limit of the GPR which can cause an Undiscovery of evidence or also a danger to
extractors who are unaware of what they can be digging into below. Another disadvantage that GPR
has is, this is an expensive tool you would not be able to go out and find this at your local Wal Mart let
alone at a cheap price for a good one, you are going to spend some money to have a good and accurate
GPR tester. GPR also requires experience before operating, it was stated it should take up to 3 days
depending on the pace that you learn, to be able to operate a GPR system. Unless you are familiar with
the tool, you are going to need proper training on how to operate this system. This can serve a problem
to an anthropology group and or law enforcement because if this tool is needed to extract evidence
someone who as the proper training and knowledge of this tool has to be present in order for the
discovery to be properly extracted. Another disadvantage that I was able to discovery is that most GPR
tools require the ground to be a leveled out surface. Without the surface being properly leveled out this
can cause a un detection of evidence or whatever is trying to be detected below, this can also give off a
misread in that particular

Golf Rangefinder Essay
When it comes to choosing a present for a men, things can be quite confusing due to the many options
that we have nowadays. Furthermore, we want to get something that will definitely please the receiver,
and due to this fact things become even more complicated. In case you find yourself in this situation,
you should have a look at the following practical mens gift ideas.
Golf rangefinder
In case the person you are buying the present for is a golfer, then a great idea would be to get a golf
rangefinder. A unit like this will definitely be appreciated. Furthermore, it will help the receiver
improve his golf game. One of the best golf range finders that are on the market nowadays and that it s
highly recommended by golfers, is Bushnell Tour Z6. It is a laser range finder extremely accurate, due
to the fact that it can easily detect the distance to the desired target, and it can also tell you the distance
to any objects that interfere between you and your target.

In order to choose the right one, you must know what type of skin has the receiver. You certainly want
to get a product that will delight the receiver and that will be extremely useful. For example, if the
person has a sensitive skin, choose a shaving machine that is especially created for this type of skin,
and so on. A highly recommended electric shaver is Braun 7 790 cc. It easily follows the contour of
your face removing all the unwanted facial hair, and protects your skin at the same time. If you choose
this electric shaver as a gift, you will certainly make the right choice. A quality electric shaver can be

Teaching-Learning Based Optimization Algorithm
Teaching−Learning Based Optimization Algorithm
TLBO is a recently proposed meta heuristic that imitates a successful and dynamic educational
strategy in a classroom [29 31]. Similar to most evolutionary algorithms, TLBO is a population based
algorithm. The population consists of some students and a teacher. The teacher is the most
knowledgeable one in the population.
The main advantage of this algorithm over other evolutionary algorithms is that TLBO has no
adjustable parameters, so there is no need to design a tuning mechanism for the parameters. The
educational strategy of this algorithm includes both direct and interactive instruction. Actually, not
only can the students be affected by their teacher, but also they can affect each other.
TLBO algorithm can be divided into two phases: 1 Teaching phase (direct instruction) 2 Learning
phase (interactive instruction). In the teaching phase, the teacher provides information for all the
students and the students learn from their teacher, while in the learning phase they can learn from each
other and develop their skills. The pseudo code of the proposed TLBO algorithm is shown in Figure 1.
Teaching phase
The best member is selected as the teacher in each iteration. The teacher trains his/her students. In
practice the teacher can only improve the mean of the students knowledge. Students improvement
depends on the students aptitude for learning. The knowledge of each student is changed according to
the following equations:

Video Analysis of Student Teaching Using Satic Model
ANALYSIS OF TYPES OF STUDENT TEACHER INTERACTIONS IN THE CLASSROOM
Tyler Sason
Dr. Robin Smith

SMT4301 Spring 2013
INTRODUCTION
One of the most important components of successful science teaching is the use of effective
questioning (Clough, 2007). Abraham and Schlitt (1973) argue that, Teaching requires continuous
analysis of both student and teacher behaviors and subsequent modificationof classroom performance.
They also say teachers must be their own critics if continuous analysis is to occur (Abraham amp;
Schlitt, 1973). The topic that I chose to focus on analyzing are the interactions, such as questioning
and responding, that take place between teachers and their students. Given the topic, this ... Show

The way teacher questions are worded does make a difference in student response. (Herman, 2008 pp.
16) Herman (2008) found that teachers were more likely to elicit extended answers through the use of
more open ended questions. After reading these articles, I was convinced that I needed to improve my
own questioning skills, which lead me to use the SATIC model for a self evaluation of my use of
questioning in the classroom.
METHODS
The tool that I will use to help answer this question is the SATIC (Student and Teacher Interaction
Coding) (Abraham amp; Schlitt, 1973) which is a tool that was developed for monitoring certain
teacher behaviors. In order to better understand how the SATIC works and interpret the results,
Abraham and Schlitt (1973) explain the use of the SATIC instrument; its history, uses, and
implementation, along with a coding sheet to help the user analyze the data they have collected. I will
use the SATIC to analyze a 15 minute of a section of the lesson and the coding sheet to quantify
teaching behaviors and types of responses so that I can quantify how many times I used each type of
interaction or behavior as opposed to another. In order to perform my analysis, I will use data
collected from student work and video evidence that was recorded during my lesson for later
reference. The video evidence will come from the second day of the two part lesson that I taught to a
high school integrated science class on the topic

Analysis Of The Gower Review Of Intellectual Property...
1. Introduction: Biotechnology Invention.
The Gower Review of Intellectual Property reported that in 2006 that almost 20 percent of human
gene DNA sequences had been patented; 4,382 out of the 23,688 known human gene. There is indeed
a dramatic increase in the number of gene patented.
The statistics showed above had raised several type of argument on the patentability of the biological
materials, or more specifically on human gene. First, how a human gene can be patentable, while the
gene sequenced was not more than a discoveries rather than a invention? Secondly, is it appropriate to
grant a monopoly on genetically engineered organisms? Last but not forgotten, if it remained
patentable, what is the optimal policy to ensure that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Association for Molecular Pathology had agitated against the existence and exclusive licensing of
the gene patent because of various kinds of legal threats to the medical practice. And this lead to the
landmark decision of the case Association for Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics Inc. in the U.S.
Supreme Court. In this case, Myriad Genetic and University of Utah Research Foundation, which
holding the BRCA1 gene patent previously, claimed that the work of isolating the DNA from the body
should made patentable. The Court of Appeal, making the gene patentable, reversed the District Court
s decision. The Association for Molecular Pathology then appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Considering the decision made in Mayo Collaborative Services v Prometheus Laboratories Inc. , the
requirement of making the natural phenomena patentable was now stricter, with more restrictive rules.

3.1 What is Patent?
According to World Intellectual Property Organisation, patent is an exclusive right granted for an
invention, which is a product or a process that provides a new way of doing something, or offers a
new technical solution to a problem. The invention potentially owned an economical value, and the
patent granted was limited to twenty years to make, use and sell the patented invention. As a pay back,
the owner of the patent must publish the technical information about the invention to the public.

This decision was very unprecedented and unexpected for the German culture is typically a light

change in the economy. For these people did not speak the language nor did they live the same way.
Angela Merkel still decided to make this decision for the German population is aging too fast, so by
bringing in these Syrian refugees it replenishes the population with new and younger people. Seeing
why this decision makes sense is obvious at this time, but in 10 20 years the change will be
understood (if these refugees are integrated into society). Since its not understood at this time it split
the people into two categories: supporters and non supporters. Supporters would take the Syrian
refugees in and care for them. Non supporters would not take them in, in fact they would burn down

Case A Retail Dry Cleaning Shop
A retail dry cleaning store cleans two piece suits for $12 each. Its patrons are individual walk ins.
There are several similar dry cleaners in the city and this firm offers no special services. The firm can
clean up to 1,000 suits per week. It has fixed costs of $3,500 per week (amortization on its equipment,
rent, taxes, and salaries) plus a cost of $4 per suit for chemicals, packaging materials, order
processing, and incidentals. Volume per week has been fairly constant at 600 suits.
A firm that operates three hotels in the city is asking the store to clean 150 two piece staff uniforms
per week at a price of $6.75 per suit. The process would be the same as the store uses on suits.
Because there are several dry cleaning stores ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why or why not?
The special job still should be accepted even if the hotel chain is only willing to pay $4.25 per
uniform. As mentioned previously, the price at $4.25 is still greater than the Marginal Cost at $4.00
and therefore it is still profitable for the firm to continue and make the uniform. The increase in
revenue would be $637.50 ($4.25*150), whereas the increase in costs would only be $600
($400*150). Therefore, even though the $4.25 is far below the $12.00 market price and the average
total cost of $8.67, it is still a profitable order.
Calculation below: =$4.25 =$4.00 =$8.67
3. Suppose the hotel chain is willing to negotiate the price. When you enter the negotiations, what is
the lowest price you are willing to accept (i.e., your reservation price)? (Of course, you will not
announce this price to the other party.)
Since this firm is in a perfectly competitive market, they must charge the same price in the industry to
be competitive. Since they have excessive capacity of up to 400 suits above their normal sales, the
incremental job allows them to negotiate a price anywhere revenue is greater than the variable cost per
shirt. The lowest price that the dry cleaning service should accept is the point where the Market
Price=Marginal Cost =Marginal Revenue, which is $4.00 per uniform. This is only the case because
the dry cleaning service has the excess capacity and

The Effects Of Pornography And Relationships
Pornography and Relationships Nowadays, we see sexual images through advertisements, movies,
social media and books everyday to an extent that these images are considered normal. Many people
argue that watching porn can hurt and destroy relationships. According to many doctors and
researchers, pornography can be harmful for one s body and their relationships. Studies and surveys
show that women are the ones who are affected by male porn the most. Although this debate is not a
new subject, it is far from resolved. The majority of women are unhappy with the fact that their
partners view pornography because they believe that porn reduces the relationship commitment. On
the other hand, some argue that watching porn can actually help to improve sexual needs in
relationships. Looking at the studies and researches, it is clear that watching porn is more harmful than
beneficial for a relationship. Peg Streep, the author of What Porn Does to Intimacy article, reasons
why viewing pornography is bad for romantic relationships. She believes that pornography should not
have a role in serious relationships, and she supports her claim by using different studies and
researches. Streep writes that the number of men who think that watching porn is okay when they are
in a relationship, are much more than women who have the same mindset. Streep points out three
reasons why she believes that porn can hurt relationships. The first reason is that couples who watch
porn alone are more likely to

Grendel
Grendel as a Ridiculous Character Probably one of the greatest questions of the 19th century comes
directly from John Gardner s novel Grendel. Given a world with no inherent meaning, how should one
live his or her life? Grendel lives in a world that he is not supposed to be in, acting out on emotion.
Grendel represents the animalistic traits of humans. His actions are primitive and based around society
s acceptance throughout the novel. Grendel portrays a ridiculous character that is convinced we are
born a certain way, and no matter how badly it will never change. Being that Grendel is a ridiculous
child like character there are two points of view in this analysis. The analysis of Grendel, and his

attacking the mead hall, and starts to challenge Grendel very vocally QUOTE Grendel responds with

Grendel does not kill Unferth, and curses him with never taking his life during any of his raids on the

Charlie Chaplin Research Paper
Imagine being a kid, losing your father to alcoholism, experiencing your own mother breaking down
on stage, and having to live place to place. Having been born to two troubled parents, Charlie Spencer
Chaplin started his career at a young age and built himself up. Starting his career in The Eight
Lancashire Lads, Chaplin was able to let his name be known to dignitary people. His enthusiasm to
rise up from the gutters amazes me, as not many can do as much as he did for himself. Charlie was
born on April 16, 1889 in London, England to Lily Harley, and Charles Chaplin Sr. His parents split
up when he was young, due to his mother s affair with Leo Dryden. Since the break off, Lily had a

Substandard Materials Used In RMS Titanic
DRAFT 2
1.0 Rivets
The substandard material and the error in the placement of different type of rivets in RMS Titanic hull
lead to the catastrophic event. In RMS Titanic over 3 million rivets of iron and steel were used to hold
the about a million of one inch thick iron plates of the ship hull. This section will introduce us to the
rivets, its types and working. A rivet is a permanent mechanical fastener which is used to hold together
the two plates. Figure 1: Rivets (Before Installation)
As shown in figure: 1, before being installed, a rivet consists of two distinct parts a cylindrical shaft
and a hat/head on the one end. The cylindrical part of the rivet is called tail of rivet as shown in the
figure 1. The rivets are used to hold ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rivet B and D are the split rivets and rivets C and E are solid tail rivets. Both the split and solid rivets
have different uses in the industry. 1.3 Material of Rivets Depending on the type of material used for
the manufacturing of rivet we can have wide range of rivets. During the early 1900 s the Iron rivets
were getting replaced by the more durable and ductile steel rivets. In Titanic both steel and iron rivets
were used at different places of the hull. Now days, Recent materials like Aluminium and Carbon
Fibers are used by the rivet manufacturers due to the high performance level and they are easy to
mould for the attractive looks as compared to the steel and iron.
In the conclusion, RMS Titanic used round headed solid rivets of iron and steel in the different
locations of ship hull which were installed manually and some were hydraulically driven at different
locations. The substandard material and the error in the placement of different type of rivets is the root
cause of sinking of RMS Titanic after it hit the iceberg its hull collapsed and led to this disaster.

Scarlet Letter Scaffold Scenes Essay
In Nathaniel Hawthorne amp;#8217;s, The Scarlet Letter, the author uses three scaffold scenes to mark
the development of Hester Prynne. The image of Hester atop the scaffolding is a metaphor for her
forced solitude; for her banishment from society; and for the futility of her punishment. In the first
scene, Hawthorne uses the scaffold to explain how Hester can not believe that the amp;#8220;A ; and
the baby are real. In the second scaffold scene, Hawthorne tries to convey to the reader that Hester has
fully repented for her sin, however this is not true. In the final scaffold scene, Hester does not yet fully

Here the scaffold represents her unwillingness to accept her sin.
In the second scaffold scene, it seems as if Hester has changed from sinner into a citizen who now has
a job in society, and that she no longer yearns for Dimmesdale and Dimmesdale no longer covets her.
However, this is not true. Hawthorne writes, amp;#8220;The moment that he did so, there came what
seemed a tumultuous rush of new life, other life than his own, pouring like a torrent into his heart, and
hurrying through all his veins amp;#8230;The three formed an electric chain. ; (page 105) The reader
learns from this quote that Dimmesdale and Hester still have a great love for each other. It is also from
this quote that the amp;#8220;A ; on Hester has not worked as well as it was intended. Hester still has
a great love for the man with whom she had an affair and this may never change. Furthermore, her
banishment has given her time to focus on her love for Dimmesdale. Here the scaffold represents
Hester amp;#8217;s unwillingness to not love Dimmesdale.
In the third scaffold scene, the Hester remains unchanged. She still has her love for Dimmesdale.
amp;#8220;Shall we not meet again? amp;#8230; Shall we not spend our immortal life together?

The Ten Commandments Of Christianity
The Ten Commandments address the most important aspects of life for a Christian, they instruct
people not to murder, commit adultery, lie, and be honorable. They also instruct people most
importantly to only worship one god, and that is God the Father.
Christianity has deep roots in social justice, and Christians are directed to care for those that are poor,
and those that are afflicted. They are also directed to care for those that have no support system, or are
less fortunate than themselves. The model of behavior people are supposed to follow is that of Jesus,
who reflected God s sense of justice. A main component to Christianity is bringing the gospel of Jesus
to those of us that are less fortunate.

The Importance Of Wolves To Yellowstone National Park
When the wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National park, the wolves prey decreased in
populations, and the producers had increases in population. In The Importance of Predators, the
Yellowstone Case, it shows that the Yellowstone valley had birds, bison, and beavers 150 years ago.
Then in 1995, wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone after being killed in the 1930 s. These wolves
ate animals such as the bison, whose population was starting to vanish in Yellowstone. This shows that
due to the wolves reintroduction, bison was lost, which was one of the wolves main prey. Another
piece of evidence is that the beaver population increased vastly during the wolves reintroduction in
1995. Beavers, which are not wolf prey, need willow trees

Magical Realism and the Sublime in The Monkey
Magical Realism and the Sublime in The Monkey
The Monkey is a short story written by Isak Dinesen. The story was published in 1934. The Monkey is
a form of gothic sublime. In this story, I encountered many elements that related to magical realism as
well as the sublime.
The Monkey has many magical elements. The beginning of the story mentioned a purple eyed young
fallow deer (109). The element appears to me as being a magical element rather than an element of the
sublime. Another magical element was the tortoise being more than one hundred years old (109). A
person knows that no tortoise is capable of living to be more than one hundred years old. Aunt

According to Longinus, noble imagery is used to convey the sublime. Her luminous eyes met his, and
made him look away, and this dumb play was repeated twice over. (114). The sublime element was an
element of imagery. The woman and man s attention was caught by each other s appearance that it
took them a while to get back to what they were doing.
Edmund Burke characterized the sublime as causing astonishment. In The Monkey , Boris said he
could follow his aunts thoughts without looking at her (116). I feel that this element of sublime is one
of astonishment. The fact was so amazing that Boris was so close to his aunt that he could follow what
she was thinking without any sight of her around.
In The Fantastic Sublime, Weiskel describes the sublime as beginning with a contemplated object that
is considered sublime when the attempt to represent it determines the mind to regard its inability to
grasp wholly the object as a symbol of the mind s relation to a trandscent order. (51). Sublime
literature has many elements that are hard to grasp on to fully. Sublime can be something that will
happen so fast when someone tries to remember what occurred, they cannot.
In The Fantastic Sublime, Weiskel describes the structure of the sublime as divided into three stages.
The first phase is that the mind is determinate, habitual relationship with the contemplated object. The
second phase is experienced by the tearing of a

The Topic Of Nutrition
Whilst misconception is defined in the Oxford Dictionary as a view or opinion that is incorrect
because based on faulty thinking or understanding , they can also be useful to teachers, as it enables us
to assess what the children already understand. This can them inform their planning of how to carry
out the next useful steps in their learning, by purposefully and directly addressing these naive ideas, to
break down barriers in the children s learning and help them flourish. Children gather pieces of
information during their childhood, which may be wrongly pieced together or misunderstood, leading
to distorted knowledge or ideas. Within the topic of Functioning of Organisms, I have found some
misconceptions relating to the sub topics of nutrition, plants and bacteria and have addressed how I, as
a teacher, would begin to correct them.
One common misconception in primary science, relating to the topic of nutrition is that all fat is bad
for humans when it is consumed. This is found in children of all ages, as we are taught from a very
young age that eating foods with high levels of fat is always bad for our health, as we are
overwhelmed by the media and other messages telling us that eating fatty foods will lead to high
levels of obesity, which leads to other health issues such as heart disease and arthritis. The prevalence
of this has driven the population to believe that any intake of fat is bad for us, but this is not the case.

The Fourteenth Amendment And The National Government Essay
The tenth amendment states that any power not granted to the National US government is given to the
states. The tenth amendment deals with three different types of power. The three separate powers are
delegated powers, reserved powers, and prohibited powers. Delegated powers are the powers assigned
to the Federal government. An example would be the power to regulate commerce. The reserved
powers are the powers that are granted to the states. An example would be to regulate education. The
prohibited powers are the powers that are denied to the national or state government by the
Constitution. An example would be that the states cannot declare war or the national government
cannot make any law that respects a particular religion. The only question that is posed by the tenth
amendment is whether a claimed federal power is justified. The tenth amendment helps establish
federalism in the Unites States. Federalism is a type of government in which the national government
and the state s share sovereignty. The 10th amendment verifies that not all power is delegated to the
national government or the states. The national government has all power vested to it from the
enumerated powers of the Constitution, but the states have all other powers not already given to the
national government. Generally, the national government has the powers concerning the well being of
all the states, while the states have the powers to solve problems that are more close to home. For
example, one of the

Love, Care, And Treat People With Respect From A Very...
I was taught to love, care, and treat people with respect from a very young age. When I was a young
girl, my mom would take me with her to work. At the time, she worked at an assisted living center in
Rome, Georgia. You see, I was a very quiet and curious child who observed the world innocently with
bright, untainted eyes. I didn t care much to be around the other children who were usually loud and
somewhat bothersome, but I enjoyed being around adults. So when my mom would take me with her,
the elderly people living there found much joy in having my company. I would sit and listen to them
tell me all sorts of stories from their past for hours on end, but I loved to hear about them. In a way, I
somehow understood that these people were lonely and only had so much time left. They just wanted
someone who could appreciate them and what they had to say; they wanted to feel like they were of
some importance and had a sense of meaning. I cared greatly about what they had to say, even though
I didn t understand it that much. More importantly, I cared about their feelings and wellbeing. I can
still remember at least two of my mom s patients. One was a man named Lou, and I believe he wore a
prosthetic leg. He was a very sweet and dear old man who loved the outdoors. My mom would bring
him outside in the mornings to watch the birds and to get some fresh, crisp, morning air. He had
become a great friend to the both of us, a bit like a father and

Reflection Analysis
In 2017, it seems engagement in controversial discourse is the ultimate taboo. In fear of offending
others, youth avoid discussions of religion, political opinions, and economic problems altogether. Or,
in contrast, discussions of these topics turn hostile and have to be extinguished in the classroom. The
result of this problem is that many young people do not know what they truly think about
controversial topics, and a generation of apathetic thinkers that never go beyond the mainstream media
for their opinions is produced. A society without individual core beliefs and values cannot function as
a democratic republic. I think it is important for our society to be able to discuss controversial topics
because I think that, like Christ, we should meet others where they are. Every day, I see people
dismiss an idea simply because it does not fall in line with their particular political party or because
the idea conflicts with the sentiments of the popular media. Instead, if we hear out the challenging
opinions of others, we can unravel ideologies of our own. I also see people who avoid the news or
political disputes at all costs because they do not want to feel the debaters contention. I too dodged the
nightly news and the following dinner table deliberations until I attended Volunteer Girls State in June
2017. At Volunteer Girls State, I learned how to be civically engaged in my community and how to be
an effective leader. Throughout the week, I participated as a Senator,

The Roles Of Moral Codes In The Maurya Empire
Moral codes have prevailed for the length of human civilization in order to establish conformity.
However, moral codes have also been used as a tactic by leaders in order to isolate the views of their
citizens. Isolation allows leaders to make drastic decisions with less protest. The decisions of the
leader can either aid a country or damage it s harmony. Despite it s possible benefits, moral codes
have historically been abused for selfish pleasure of the leader. Moral codes can be traced back to the
Maurya Empire, where conformity to Dharma was highly encouraged. Ashoka Maurya transitioned
the legacy of his dynasty to become tolerant and peaceful. The only way he made such a transition
was to use moral codes. The ingenious conformity to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patriarchal beliefs were found across the entire prehistoric world and in order to gain popularity Islam
enforced the belief. The primary obstacle was to persuade women to accept patriarchy, as, the value of
[their] life [would be] half that of a man, (Doc 5). Moral codes proved to be useful, as Islam had
grown to be one of the most popular religions on the globe. Social interactions were intensified and
individuals lives, including women, were mistreated. Their success was shown through acts such as,
stoning women for adultery, (Doc 5). The extreme punishment for women is evidence of Islam s
success in manipulating the women to believe they are inferior to men. The patriarchal beliefs
attracted governments, such as Iran, to transition into theocracies. Iran changed their government in
1979 and based their laws on Islamic law. The religion s powerful control over peoples minds gave
them the freedom to turn extremist beliefs into casual actions. Though Islam is less harsh on women
today, sexism continues to be an issue in a variety of social environments across the globe. Moral
codes have evidently lasted throughout history, yet the Maurya Empire, the Church, and Islam all
spread the psychological tactic to future societies. Moral codes today can all be traced back to those
three great powers. Although, current scholars debate on whether the current moral codes are
beneficial to human

Old Major has an groundbreaking idea that he thinks will give the animals freedom and the animals

a week or in a hundred years, but I know, as surely as I see this straw beneath my feet, that sooner or
later justice will be done. Fix your eyes on that, comrades, throughout the short remainder of your
lives! And above all, pass on this message of mine to those who come after you, so that future
generations shall carry on the struggle until it is victorious, (Chapter 1). Old Major means that the

Chemical, Chemical, Physical, And Biological...
Water quality is the chemical, physical, and biological characteristics in a body of water. It describes
the condition of the water and the measure of the biotic species or human needs. If a lot of excessive
nutrients enter the water, the water quality will lead to water pollution. Water is contaminated by
contaminants and pesticides which are used to measure the water quality. Drinking water and the
health of ecosystems are some things included in the water quality. Contaminants and pesticides are
used to measure the water quality. Dissolved oxygen, the amount of bacteria, and the amount of salt
contained in the water are also ways that water quality is measured. There are risks in measuring the
water quality using contaminants and pesticides. Turbidity is the amount of haziness in the water, this
is also a way to measure the water quality. The data of the water quality results are included in the
water quality index which makes the information understandable and useable for the public. The
results of the water quality testing depends on the location, the time tested, and the parameters.
Parameters are the variables used while testing characteristics in the water quality. There are different
types of parameters used for differents types of characters like pH is used for testing the chemical
characteristics, algae is used for biological characteristics, and turbidity is used for physical

The Status Of The World s Women
The status of the world s women is not only a matter of morality and justice. It is also a political,
economic, and social imperative. The evidence is irrefutable: when women are free to develop their
talents and contribute fully to their societies, everyone benefits.
Hillary Clinton, 5/12/2010
Women are a large portion of the populace, almost 60% possess professional degrees, make up 47% of
the workforce and represent 53% of voters. Despite the fact that they have broken every barrier many
times over, women occupy only 18% of the top management positions across the world. While the
representation of women in noteworthy positions of political and business sectors has enhanced in
some cases, (20 states have female Senators) the leadership pool is still male dominated. The U.S.
places 80th in the world when it comes to female representation in authoritative positions, just ahead
of countries that are openly criticized for their treatment of women, like Iraq and Afghanistan. As of
2014, only 4.2% of CEO positions and under 17% of board seats are held by ladies among Fortune
500 organizations.
Evidence across the region has shown that having more women in senior authority promotes brilliance
in areas of performance. Research demonstrates that organizations with more women in power within
governing bodies are more gainful and have higher profits for value. Having more women with
political authority brings about better choice and strategy making. Well taught women and

This Since the beginning, of this century a global tendency to abolish corporal punishment have been
introduced to challenge old dependence on corporal punishment as a tool for reforming children s

Essay The Maya Civilization
The Maya Civilization
The ancient Maya once occupied a vast geographic area in Central America. Their civilization
inhabited an area that encompasses Mexico s Yucatan peninsula and parts of the states of Chiapas and
Tabasco, as well as Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, and El Salvador. From the third to the ninth century,
Maya civilization produced awe inspiring temples and pyramids, highly accurate calendars,
mathematics and hieroglyphics, and a complex social and political order ( Collapse... 1). Urban
centers were important to the Maya during the Classic period; they offered the Mayans a central place

The priestly class lived in the cities, while the general population lived away in small farming villages.
The priests would carry out daily religious duties, particularly sacrifices, and the peasants would
gather periodically for religious ceremonies and festivals. They built the ceremonial centers in a
specific design for religious practices. They constructed tall pyramid temples, warren like single story
palaces, and a ball court that was surrounded by a broad central plaza. The architectural features of the
Mayan pyramids include towering roofs, corbel vaults, and elaborate embellishment with stucco
reliefs (Palfrey 2). It is amazing to imagine the detail that the Mayans were able to create in their
architecture with only primitive tools. For the Mayans, science and religion were linked. Time was
extremely important and their agriculture and religious ceremonies required a system that could record
time. That need for structure is probably the reason that the Mayans developed such an amazingly
accurate calendar. They also developed a complex style of hieroglyphic writing that we have not fully
deciphered. Through their knowledge of astronomy and mathematics they calculated the lunar cycle,
predicted eclipses, and formulated a unique calendar system was very accurate. Their calendar was
only one day off every 6000 years. That makes it more accurate than our calendar today (Hooker 6).

operating systems have features which are unique unto themselves. Although there may be arguments
as to which one of these three operating systems is better it really all comes down to what features are

Despite this Mac has continued to gain popularity in the market. It s programs have proved to be more
stable than Windows, as a result of this hardware for the systems generally last longer as well. This is
due to the fact that Mac systems have more features that monitor and regulate the activities,
temperatures, and functions that can wear a system down faster. Mac computers also become known
for their vivid aqua screen. Because of this many graphic designers, special effects editors, and even
musicians have switched to using Mac computers. Even despite their price, which to this day remains
higher than the competition, Mac still shares a steady part of the market and its popularity continues to

Pros And Cons Of Japanese Internment
Japanese Internment can not be justified by the United States government. The United States
government, in the twentieth century can not justify the Internment of Japanese Americans and their
families. Many will argue that in times of war that difficult decisions and choices have to be made on
behalf of the nation at war. World War II highlighted the actions of a nation, embracing and expediting
the actions and decisions while not seeing the long term consequence of such decisions. People in
support of the war and the policies of our government, will argue that they needed to make the war
more efficient to shorten the war and spare our nation needless lost of life. Can a society sacrifice
moral principles as they blur the lines of its citizens and its enemies?
The American government evacuated approximately 120,000 Japanese Nationals, American citizens
of Japanese descent during World War II, and placed them in internment camps at the beginning of
World War II. Japanese Americans were forced from their homes and businesses, forced into
relocation camps in the deserts of California, Arizona, into the mountains of Idaho, and small towns in

Malcolm Gladwell supports his claim that in cognitively demanding fields there are no naturals, by
writing interesting anecdotes that show examples. For example, the article contains an anecdote in
talking about how Mozart s earliest works were not outstanding; his earliest masterwork was created
when he was twenty one years old, showing he had already been practicing for ten years and he had to
practice to create his masterwork. Gladwell argues that even Mozart was not a natural. According to

  • 3. Why GPR Is Important Bones can tell us a lot, these pieces of hard, whitish tissue makes up the skeleton in humans and other vertebrates. Without these strong pieces of tissue, we would be able to have the body structure or move in many different ways, or let alone have the protection we need for our internal organs. Bones are important when it comes to the structure of human beings and vertebrates. What happens to these bones when it is time for humans to die? They become buried deep within the earth. The earth was literally filled with bones, evidently hastily place there or left where the dead fell. (Archeological Expedition to Arizona in 1895 by Jesse Walter Fewkes). If there could be bones under the ground, we walk on how are we able to extract such items ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When using GPR it is unable to identify any underground utilities that the user many come across. Such as determining if the piping that is found is gas, or water, this can become dangerous because you would have to limit the area of where you dig and to make sure you are not damaging a line that has been detected. Even though these measurements can be increased your typical GPR can penetrate the depth of concrete surfaces form 18 24. Other surfaces such as grass can range from a penetration of 6 10. This can pose a challenge because, the evidence or what is being extracted can be buried deeper than the limit of the GPR which can cause an Undiscovery of evidence or also a danger to extractors who are unaware of what they can be digging into below. Another disadvantage that GPR has is, this is an expensive tool you would not be able to go out and find this at your local Wal Mart let alone at a cheap price for a good one, you are going to spend some money to have a good and accurate GPR tester. GPR also requires experience before operating, it was stated it should take up to 3 days depending on the pace that you learn, to be able to operate a GPR system. Unless you are familiar with the tool, you are going to need proper training on how to operate this system. This can serve a problem to an anthropology group and or law enforcement because if this tool is needed to extract evidence someone who as the proper training and knowledge of this tool has to be present in order for the discovery to be properly extracted. Another disadvantage that I was able to discovery is that most GPR tools require the ground to be a leveled out surface. Without the surface being properly leveled out this can cause a un detection of evidence or whatever is trying to be detected below, this can also give off a misread in that particular ... • 5. Teaching-Learning Based Optimization Algorithm Teaching−Learning Based Optimization Algorithm TLBO is a recently proposed meta heuristic that imitates a successful and dynamic educational strategy in a classroom [29 31]. Similar to most evolutionary algorithms, TLBO is a population based algorithm. The population consists of some students and a teacher. The teacher is the most knowledgeable one in the population. The main advantage of this algorithm over other evolutionary algorithms is that TLBO has no adjustable parameters, so there is no need to design a tuning mechanism for the parameters. The educational strategy of this algorithm includes both direct and interactive instruction. Actually, not only can the students be affected by their teacher, but also they can affect each other. TLBO algorithm can be divided into two phases: 1 Teaching phase (direct instruction) 2 Learning phase (interactive instruction). In the teaching phase, the teacher provides information for all the students and the students learn from their teacher, while in the learning phase they can learn from each other and develop their skills. The pseudo code of the proposed TLBO algorithm is shown in Figure 1. Teaching phase The best member is selected as the teacher in each iteration. The teacher trains his/her students. In practice the teacher can only improve the mean of the students knowledge. Students improvement depends on the students aptitude for learning. The knowledge of each student is changed according to the following equations: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Video Analysis of Student Teaching Using Satic Model ANALYSIS OF TYPES OF STUDENT TEACHER INTERACTIONS IN THE CLASSROOM Tyler Sason Dr. Robin Smith 27 April 2013 SMT4301 Spring 2013 INTRODUCTION One of the most important components of successful science teaching is the use of effective questioning (Clough, 2007). Abraham and Schlitt (1973) argue that, Teaching requires continuous analysis of both student and teacher behaviors and subsequent modificationof classroom performance. They also say teachers must be their own critics if continuous analysis is to occur (Abraham amp; Schlitt, 1973). The topic that I chose to focus on analyzing are the interactions, such as questioning and responding, that take place between teachers and their students. Given the topic, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The way teacher questions are worded does make a difference in student response. (Herman, 2008 pp. 16) Herman (2008) found that teachers were more likely to elicit extended answers through the use of more open ended questions. After reading these articles, I was convinced that I needed to improve my own questioning skills, which lead me to use the SATIC model for a self evaluation of my use of questioning in the classroom. METHODS The tool that I will use to help answer this question is the SATIC (Student and Teacher Interaction Coding) (Abraham amp; Schlitt, 1973) which is a tool that was developed for monitoring certain teacher behaviors. In order to better understand how the SATIC works and interpret the results, Abraham and Schlitt (1973) explain the use of the SATIC instrument; its history, uses, and implementation, along with a coding sheet to help the user analyze the data they have collected. I will use the SATIC to analyze a 15 minute of a section of the lesson and the coding sheet to quantify teaching behaviors and types of responses so that I can quantify how many times I used each type of interaction or behavior as opposed to another. In order to perform my analysis, I will use data collected from student work and video evidence that was recorded during my lesson for later reference. The video evidence will come from the second day of the two part lesson that I taught to a high school integrated science class on the topic

The Gower Review of Intellectual Property reported that in 2006 that almost 20 percent of human gene DNA sequences had been patented; 4,382 out of the 23,688 known human gene. There is indeed a dramatic increase in the number of gene patented. The statistics showed above had raised several type of argument on the patentability of the biological materials, or more specifically on human gene. First, how a human gene can be patentable, while the gene sequenced was not more than a discoveries rather than a invention? Secondly, is it appropriate to grant a monopoly on genetically engineered organisms? Last but not forgotten, if it remained patentable, what is the optimal policy to ensure that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Association for Molecular Pathology had agitated against the existence and exclusive licensing of the gene patent because of various kinds of legal threats to the medical practice. And this lead to the landmark decision of the case Association for Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics Inc. in the U.S. Supreme Court. In this case, Myriad Genetic and University of Utah Research Foundation, which holding the BRCA1 gene patent previously, claimed that the work of isolating the DNA from the body should made patentable. The Court of Appeal, making the gene patentable, reversed the District Court s decision. The Association for Molecular Pathology then appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. By growing up in Former East Germany (Angela Merkel s, 2015) before the wall fell under communist regime. Where she was being controlled in every aspect of life with harsh punishments if not followed to fullest extent; which I might include are not even imaginable by todays standards. Unlike the common board game Monopoly, the communist Germany played Bürokratopoly. (Leveille, 2014). This game is different to Monopoly for Monopoly is to get filthy rich, Bürokratopoly has a different tack. Angela Merkel still decided to make this decision for the German population is aging too fast, so by bringing in these Syrian refugees it replenishes the population with new and younger people. Seeing why this decision makes sense is obvious at this time, but in 10 20 years the change will be understood (if these refugees are integrated into society). Since its not understood at this time it split the people into two categories: supporters and non supporters. Supporters would take the Syrian refugees in and care for them. • 11. Case A Retail Dry Cleaning Shop A retail dry cleaning store cleans two piece suits for $12 each. Its patrons are individual walk ins. There are several similar dry cleaners in the city and this firm offers no special services. The firm can clean up to 1,000 suits per week. It has fixed costs of $3,500 per week (amortization on its equipment, rent, taxes, and salaries) plus a cost of $4 per suit for chemicals, packaging materials, order processing, and incidentals. Volume per week has been fairly constant at 600 suits. A firm that operates three hotels in the city is asking the store to clean 150 two piece staff uniforms per week at a price of $6.75 per suit. The process would be the same as the store uses on suits. Because there are several dry cleaning stores ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why or why not? The special job still should be accepted even if the hotel chain is only willing to pay $4.25 per uniform. As mentioned previously, the price at $4.25 is still greater than the Marginal Cost at $4.00 and therefore it is still profitable for the firm to continue and make the uniform. The increase in revenue would be $637.50 ($4.25*150), whereas the increase in costs would only be $600 ($400*150). Therefore, even though the $4.25 is far below the $12.00 market price and the average total cost of $8.67, it is still a profitable order. Calculation below: =$4.25 =$4.00 =$8.67 3. Suppose the hotel chain is willing to negotiate the price. When you enter the negotiations, what is the lowest price you are willing to accept (i.e., your reservation price)? (Of course, you will not announce this price to the other party.) Since this firm is in a perfectly competitive market, they must charge the same price in the industry to be competitive. Since they have excessive capacity of up to 400 suits above their normal sales, the incremental job allows them to negotiate a price anywhere revenue is greater than the variable cost per shirt. The lowest price that the dry cleaning service should accept is the point where the Market Price=Marginal Cost =Marginal Revenue, which is $4.00 per uniform. This is only the case because the dry cleaning service has the excess capacity and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Effects Of Pornography And Relationships Pornography and Relationships Nowadays, we see sexual images through advertisements, movies, social media and books everyday to an extent that these images are considered normal. Many people argue that watching porn can hurt and destroy relationships. According to many doctors and researchers, pornography can be harmful for one s body and their relationships. Studies and surveys show that women are the ones who are affected by male porn the most. Although this debate is not a new subject, it is far from resolved. The majority of women are unhappy with the fact that their partners view pornography because they believe that porn reduces the relationship commitment. On the other hand, some argue that watching porn can actually help to improve sexual needs in relationships. Looking at the studies and researches, it is clear that watching porn is more harmful than beneficial for a relationship. Peg Streep, the author of What Porn Does to Intimacy article, reasons why viewing pornography is bad for romantic relationships. She believes that pornography should not have a role in serious relationships, and she supports her claim by using different studies and researches. Streep writes that the number of men who think that watching porn is okay when they are in a relationship, are much more than women who have the same mindset. Given a world with no inherent meaning, how should one live his or her life? Grendel lives in a world that he is not supposed to be in, acting out on emotion. Grendel represents the animalistic traits of humans. His actions are primitive and based around society s acceptance throughout the novel. Grendel portrays a ridiculous character that is convinced we are born a certain way, and no matter how badly it will never change. Grendel doesn t romanticize about heroism the way Unferth does. Grendel does not kill Unferth, and curses him with never taking his life during any of his raids on the mead hall. Further on the next ridiculous event in Grendel happens as Grendel watches as Hrothgar confronts the Helmings, as they surrender apart of the agreement becomes The leader s daughter Wealtheow. Having been born to two troubled parents, Charlie Spencer Chaplin started his career at a young age and built himself up. Starting his career in The Eight Lancashire Lads, Chaplin was able to let his name be known to dignitary people. The image of Hester atop the scaffolding is a metaphor for her forced solitude; for her banishment from society; and for the futility of her punishment. In the first scene, Hawthorne uses the scaffold to explain how Hester can not believe that the amp;#8220;A ; and the baby are real. In the second scaffold scene, Hawthorne tries to convey to the reader that Hester has fully repented for her sin, however this is not true. The beginning of the story mentioned a purple eyed young fallow deer (109). The element appears to me as being a magical element rather than an element of the sublime. The Topic Of Nutrition Whilst misconception is defined in the Oxford Dictionary as a view or opinion that is incorrect because based on faulty thinking or understanding , they can also be useful to teachers, as it enables us to assess what the children already understand. This can them inform their planning of how to carry out the next useful steps in their learning, by purposefully and directly addressing these naive ideas, to break down barriers in the children s learning and help them flourish. Children gather pieces of information during their childhood, which may be wrongly pieced together or misunderstood, leading to distorted knowledge or ideas. Within the topic of Functioning of Organisms, I have found some misconceptions relating to the sub topics of nutrition, plants and bacteria and have addressed how I, as a teacher, would begin to correct them. One common misconception in primary science, relating to the topic of nutrition is that all fat is bad for humans when it is consumed. This is found in children of all ages, as we are taught from a very young age that eating foods with high levels of fat is always bad for our health, as we are overwhelmed by the media and other messages telling us that eating fatty foods will lead to high levels of obesity, which leads to other health issues such as heart disease and arthritis. • 22. The Fourteenth Amendment And The National Government Essay The tenth amendment states that any power not granted to the National US government is given to the states. The tenth amendment deals with three different types of power. The three separate powers are delegated powers, reserved powers, and prohibited powers. Delegated powers are the powers assigned to the Federal government. An example would be the power to regulate commerce. The reserved powers are the powers that are granted to the states. An example would be to regulate education. The prohibited powers are the powers that are denied to the national or state government by the Constitution. An example would be that the states cannot declare war or the national government cannot make any law that respects a particular religion. The only question that is posed by the tenth amendment is whether a claimed federal power is justified. The tenth amendment helps establish federalism in the Unites States. Federalism is a type of government in which the national government and the state s share sovereignty. The 10th amendment verifies that not all power is delegated to the national government or the states. The national government has all power vested to it from the enumerated powers of the Constitution, but the states have all other powers not already given to the national government. Generally, the national government has the powers concerning the well being of all the states, while the states have the powers to solve problems that are more close to home. When I was a young girl, my mom would take me with her to work. At the time, she worked at an assisted living center in Rome, Georgia. You see, I was a very quiet and curious child who observed the world innocently with bright, untainted eyes. I didn t care much to be around the other children who were usually loud and somewhat bothersome, but I enjoyed being around adults. So when my mom would take me with her, the elderly people living there found much joy in having my company. I would sit and listen to them tell me all sorts of stories from their past for hours on end, but I loved to hear about them. In a way, I somehow understood that these people were lonely and only had so much time left. They just wanted someone who could appreciate them and what they had to say; they wanted to feel like they were of some importance and had a sense of meaning. I cared greatly about what they had to say, even though I didn t understand it that much. More importantly, I cared about their feelings and wellbeing. I can still remember at least two of my mom s patients. One was a man named Lou, and I believe he wore a prosthetic leg. He was a very sweet and dear old man who loved the outdoors. • 25. Reflection Analysis In 2017, it seems engagement in controversial discourse is the ultimate taboo. In fear of offending others, youth avoid discussions of religion, political opinions, and economic problems altogether. Or, in contrast, discussions of these topics turn hostile and have to be extinguished in the classroom. The result of this problem is that many young people do not know what they truly think about controversial topics, and a generation of apathetic thinkers that never go beyond the mainstream media for their opinions is produced. A society without individual core beliefs and values cannot function as a democratic republic. I think it is important for our society to be able to discuss controversial topics because I think that, like Christ, we should meet others where they are. Every day, I see people dismiss an idea simply because it does not fall in line with their particular political party or because the idea conflicts with the sentiments of the popular media. Instead, if we hear out the challenging opinions of others, we can unravel ideologies of our own. I also see people who avoid the news or political disputes at all costs because they do not want to feel the debaters contention. Their success was shown through acts such as, stoning women for adultery, (Doc 5). The extreme punishment for women is evidence of Islam s success in manipulating the women to believe they are inferior to men. The patriarchal beliefs attracted governments, such as Iran, to transition into theocracies. Iran changed their government in 1979 and based their laws on Islamic law.
