Basic function and scope
President Office  I was the second man in the company and vice-chairman
in the Management , Human Resources, Tendering and
HSE committees.
 I approve the Exploration budget and follow with Managers
to ensure that MC directives are fully implemented ,
company exploration objectives are met and proposed
reserve increment is achieved on the time.
 I was the project director , responsible of Project
Management process to ensure all development projects
including new fields tie-in , facilities upgrading,
debottlenecking the old facilities and IOR/EOR projects in
brown fields are on time schedule and as per budget ;
without compromising quality.
 I initiated, followed-through and implemented the
Chemical EOR as Huff and Puff to Improve Oil Recovery
for Heavy Oil Field by Chemical Treatment (SEMAR) in
Bamboo Oil Field. The result was oil gained of 18,000 BBls
in 50 days . See SPE-189-MS.
 I discussed & approved all Plans of production operations in
all fields to ensure that crude oil and associated gases are

produced in the quantities and at the qualities level to meet
shareholder need and off take requirements. I managed to
present news concepts of four scenarios to the Hosting
Government to approve the incremental of WNPOC
Production level by 400%. Finally the government
approved the plan and agreed that WNPOC can build a
pipeline to Fulla and mix their crude with Block 6 . That
allowed WNPOC to increase the production to 40,000
BOPD instead of 12,000 BOPD.
 I managed a specialized group of engineers and specialists
to formulate strategies and plans to maximize commercial oil
recovery of developed fields through well/well review and
performance enhancement. I initiated a full study of steam
injection to increase the recovery factor of Tharjath Field by
12% . I achieved the 3 project steps and reached the
Sector model , reservoir simulation and the economical
model stage.
 I was fully responsible of Company's occupational health ,
safety, and environment policy . I effectively follow the
implementation of these policies in all operations assets and
departments. I continuously lead audit teams to inspect the
systems and to ensure all procedures are adequately
implemented.
During my time in WNPOC we achieved the minimum LTI in
all projects and WNPOC was awarded the ISO 14001 and
OHSAS 18001 after 2 years of system preparation and
enhancement , staff training and orientation program and
internal and external rigorous auditing . . During my time in
SUDAPET as VP , I initiated the process of Quality
management in the company . I enforced all the
departments to map their work processes and procedures
and hired a reputable consultant to help on gap filling to
ensure proper system management is in place. After three
years I managed to change Sudapet from a local
Governmental Company to an international E&P company
and Oil Service Provider of Excellence . I managed to
improve work process, staff competencies . SUDAPET has
been awarded the awarded the ISO 9001 , ISO 14001 and
OHSAS 18001.
 I was supervising the company WP&B Cycle from the
begging of preliminary thoughts, through SWOT analysis .
approval , Budget Performance Review and analysis and
Reporting to the shareholders and the host government.
 Due to my previous experience in GNPOC , I managed to
initiate the ERP system and established enthusiastic team
to drive this project.
 The team chosen SAP system in SUDAPET & other
operating companies. After many years of hard work , the
system now is fully functioning .
 This ERP system caused drastic changes in resources

management, affected positively procurement procedure,
warehousing management, finance and accounting, and
assets operations &maintenance.
 BLUE NILE PETROLEUM OPERATING COMPANY
( BNPOC ) :- The shareholders of the company were Gain
Yield Investment Ltd., Hong-Kong 90 % & SUDAPET Ltd.
10%. This company was registered as off- Shore Company.
 I managed to register a branch in Sudan in two weeks’ time,
established the company HQ in Khartoum and I managed to
negotiate the contract with the landlord and reduced the cost
by 20% compared to the similar building in the area.
 In the beginning the company establishment, and due to limited
budget and work, interviewed the local staff and hired only 3
support , trained them to be of multi-skilled disciplines who
can work on many projects and trades like accounting ,
secretary , logistics , GS , PR , translation , receptionist , driver
,..etc.
 I managed to fully furnish the HQ building , established good
tele-communication system with full ICT infrastructure ,
including provision of future expansion with very reduced
prices.
 I managed to arrange secured, quality and comfortable fields
trips (More than 700 KM away from Khartoum ) to the oil fields
and around all the concession area with minimum cost and met
all the company fields survey and mapping objectives.

GM E & P  I achieved GNPOC production plateau of 280 KBOPD from
10 Production Fields in Block 1,2 and 4 (. Heglig, Unity,
Toma South, El Naar, El Haar, El Toor, Garaad, Bamboo,
Munga, Khairat NE Dfra & Neem ). This achievement was
above to the approved WP&B ,target of 269 KBOPD.
 I managed to achieve 300 KBOPD as peak production in
few months.
 These high Production achievements were realized
because of the following actions taken :
 I continuously attend to Well/Well Review..
Took decision on the spot about production
issues, such as sand production & completion
problems, Water Injection issues , artificial lift
issues, workover / Re-completion analysis and
production data aquision issues.
 I was reviewing with engineers and
technologists idle wells status and discuss the
plans to bring them back on stream in due
course of time.
 I was reviewing with reservoir engineers and
G&G group well performance and artificial lift or
secondary recovery phase required.
 I was energizing operations & maintenance by
highlighting my observations about processing
facilities performance, pipelines integrity, De-
bottleneck projects and tank farm performance.
I thinking out of box and encourage my staff to
do the same .
 I was responsible of all electrical feeders to
wells and processing plants , that include 600
klms of HV transmission lines , 3 power plants
and utilities . I was chairing meetings regarding
HV& LV transmission lines, power plants
performance, spare parts availability, contracts
…etc.

 I was very restricted about power outage
issues. I encourage the power committee &
consultants to suggest many improvement
incentives such as transmission line retrofitting,
sectionalization , outer closers system
protection enhancement .. Lost production
index due to power(LPI) reports showed
outstanding improvement ; LPI DECREASED
from 7% to only 2.5 %.
 I managed a professional engineering and specialist team
who assess processing facilities, pipelines integrity, Power
Plants , tank farm and meters performance .
 I was responsible of 412 wells performance ( most of them
on PCP& ESP) and water injection plant . Manage 5 power
generation plants , 600 klms of HV electrical transmission
lines .
 I have the ability to motivate and energize staff for
performance improvement . I always empower staff and
encourage them to make decisions and come with new
ideas. I always follow the rule of (make it right first time).
This is happening because of training , development &
couching programs offered by my subordinates .
 When I left the company, I had in my department 400
skilled engineers , technicians and operators. My budget
was more than $ 600 MM per year.
 I was the HSE System custodian in my department . I
ensure all activities are carried out in full accordance with

 I was the member of Project Steering Committee. Participated in
the pre- commissioning of the main projects in GNPOC and
formed a task force to establish Production Operation Philosophy
and prepare the fields for production.
 Developed with my staff the Fields operation Philosophy. Created
the production Organization Structure which consists of
Operations, Maintenance, Production Engineering , Planning and
Training Sections . Later on two additional sections were
developed to achieve the business target (Technical Service &
Electrical Power).
 Developed the Chemical injection program with the assistance of
Operations Superintendent and lab supervisor. This was critical
job because of the waxy oil nature and to ensure the pipeline will
be operated smoothly and safely.
 Engaged Operations and Maintenance Contractors to fill the
positions and support the operations and maintenance until
nationals can take over. I negotiated the contracts and got the
best price in the regions. I higher the best contract staff after
interview and to ensure, they are willing to transfer knowledge
and skills to national grown staff.
 Established Operations and Safety procedures and standards to
ensure all the plants , Power stations , the 33 KV Over heads
transmission lines will be operated continuously and safely .
 Established Computerized Maintenance Management System to
ensure adequate preventive , corrective maintenance and
Overhaul activities are provided to all equipment when required
and to monitor the spare parts stock level .
 Established the ERP ( Oracle System) in Production Department , I
was the steering committee member and responsible about all
the processes of ERP establishment in Production department .
We managed to work 3 years hand to hand with the consultant in
ERP blue print , migration of all the historical facilities data
&information to the new system ,established the maintenance
procedures and workflow .
 Established warehouse processes and spares inventory system .
Managed to train staff and encourage them to be the owners of
the system. Created with my staff the purchase order system for
the routine maintenance spares

 I establish a training center in Heglig equipped with all engineering
training facilities, such like mechanical, instrumentation& control,
electrical and operations equipment . I hired 15 expad training staff
who got the knowledge , skill . I managed to train the operators and
technicians over 2-3 years training program to furnish the
operations , lab, corrosion and maintenance sections with
competent operators and technicians .
 I established the career progression for engineers , operators &
technicians to understudy the higher jobs and to nationalize them
after through assessment . 400 supervisors , specialists ,
engineers, technicians and operators of very high caliper were
graduated and now they are in all the gulf countries like Saudi
Arabia ,Kuwait, Iraq, Oman & Abu Dhabi. Some of them also
working with contractors such as Haliburton & Schlumberger.
 I was member in the commissioning and startup committee to
commission step by step 7 fields facilities and pipelines ( Unity ,
Heglig , Toma South , Elnar , Eltoor , Bamboo , and Munga ) and to
produc over 150,000 BOPD.
 I was a member of commissioning and startup committee to start
two Power Stations , Helig Power Station ( 8 engines X 3.5 MW ) .

 Worked as (Fields development Plan) FDP milestone sr. reviewer .
I reviewed 5 different FDPs in REPID ( china ) , Petronas
(Malyasia) & Sudan . I go through the G&G phase until the final
geological model is finished. Then I follow with the reservoir
engineers on the Engineering Dynamic model. I challenged the
field economics to ensure its fit-for-purpose and no additional
cost encored.
 Worked as project director of Field Surface facilities phase 1 ( FSF1
The scope was 100 wells to be tied in and put on stream to
produce 150,000 BOPD . The value of this project was $70 MM
and the mode was on fast track bases to be
completed/commissioned before June 1999 . ie. In one year time.
 Responsible of Tie –in 100 wells in 5 fields ( Unity , Heglig , Toma
South , Elnar and Eltoor fields ) to the field production facilities (
FPFs ) . The scope of work is to lead 18 staff ( project team ) to
engineer , procure equipment and materials , construct and
commission the inter-fields pipelines , oil gathering manifolds ,
Micro motion meters , overhead transmission lines , high voltage
/ low voltage transformers , switch gears , underground cables
and MCC rooms .
 I achieved the project on time and saved 6 million dollars. This
saving come from low price of material transportation (negotiated
good price) , commissioned the project before raining seasons ,
(saved on excavation equipment hours), saved the stores rental in
mid-way between Port & fields (distance over 1200 KMs) , by
applying security and rewards to drivers who achieved logistics
goals.
 I was very concerned about the inter-phasing issues between the
different projects EPC1 , EPC2B and FSF1 . this is important for
ensuring smooth flow achieved between different teams in
different projects.
 After the FDP reached the final stage , I was responsible about
the team who purchased the artificial lift equipment , most of
them were Electrical submersible pumps and progressive Cavity
pumps. I hired the team who is responsible to complete the wells ,

and achieved successfully PCPs and SPEs installation programs .
 Provided a periodical Overall reports to management and
partners in JOC meetings about the E&P Fields Projects
progression .

the first project in SUDAN . It aimed to develop 1 well in
Sharif field and 3 wells in Abugabra field . to build small
topping plant in Abugara and to truck the oil from
Sharif through all-weather road of 70 kms to Abu-gabra
terminal .
 I was responsible of Drilling, Testing, Completion of 3
wells in AbuGabra & Sharif Fields . Design Early
Production Facilities (EPS). Supervise the Production.
Contract Vendors & manage the logistics.
 We built small loading facilities in Sharif well , where
105 tankers to be loaded and travel to Abu-gabra
terminal for de-loading .
 In Abu-gabara we built tank farm for oil , Naphtha ,
Gasoil ,kerosene and fuel-oil . I have good experience in
handling the crude oil of very high pour point as it gels
in low temperature. We managed to heat the road
tankers and the railway tankers and bring the fuel-oil to

the power plant (800 klms) away from the refinery .
 Managed to produce 2000 BOPD for Abugabra Topping
Plant , drilled 2 additional wells in Sharif fields and
recomplete all the wells in Abu-gabra field.
 We are fully responsible about the oil treatment ,
loading , off-loading and oil trucking operation.

I managed to present news concepts of four scenarios to the Hosting Government to approve the incremental of WNPOC Production level by 400%. Finally the government approved the plan and agreed that WNPOC can build a pipeline to Fulla and mix their crude with Block 6 . That allowed WNPOC to increase the production to 40,000 BOPD instead of 12,000 BOPD.  I managed a specialized group of engineers and specialists to formulate strategies and plans to maximize commercial oil recovery of developed fields through well/well review and performance enhancement. I initiated a full study of steam injection to increase the recovery factor of Tharjath Field by 12% . I achieved the 3 project steps and reached the Sector model , reservoir simulation and the economical model stage.  I was fully responsible of Company's occupational health , safety, and environment policy . I effectively follow the implementation of these policies in all operations assets and departments. I continuously lead audit teams to inspect the systems and to ensure all procedures are adequately implemented. During my time in WNPOC we achieved the minimum LTI in all projects and WNPOC was awarded the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 after 2 years of system preparation and enhancement , staff training and orientation program and internal and external rigorous auditing . . During my time in SUDAPET as VP , I initiated the process of Quality management in the company . I enforced all the departments to map their work processes and procedures and hired a reputable consultant to help on gap filling to ensure proper system management is in place. After three years I managed to change Sudapet from a local Governmental Company to an international E&P company and Oil Service Provider of Excellence . I managed to improve work process, staff competencies . This company was registered as off- Shore Company.  I managed to register a branch in Sudan in two weeks’ time, established the company HQ in Khartoum and I managed to negotiate the contract with the landlord and reduced the cost by 20% compared to the similar building in the area.  In the beginning the company establishment, and due to limited budget and work, interviewed the local staff and hired only 3 support , trained them to be of multi-skilled disciplines who can work on many projects and trades like accounting , secretary , logistics , GS , PR , translation , receptionist , driver ,..etc.  I managed to fully furnish the HQ building , established good tele-communication system with full ICT infrastructure , including provision of future expansion with very reduced prices.  I managed to arrange secured, quality and comfortable fields trips (More than 700 KM away from Khartoum ) to the oil fields and around all the concession area with minimum cost and met all the company fields survey and mapping objectives. Heglig, Unity, Toma South, El Naar, El Haar, El Toor, Garaad, Bamboo, Munga, Khairat NE Dfra & Neem ). This achievement was above to the approved WP&B ,target of 269 KBOPD.  I managed to achieve 300 KBOPD as peak production in few months.  These high Production achievements were realized because of the following actions taken :  I continuously attend to Well/Well Review.. Took decision on the spot about production issues, such as sand production & completion problems, Water Injection issues , artificial lift issues, workover / Re-completion analysis and production data aquision issues.  I was reviewing with engineers and technologists idle wells status and discuss the plans to bring them back on stream in due course of time.  I was reviewing with reservoir engineers and G&G group well performance and artificial lift or secondary recovery phase required.  I was energizing operations & maintenance by highlighting my observations about processing facilities performance, pipelines integrity, De- bottleneck projects and tank farm performance. I thinking out of box and encourage my staff to do the same .  I was responsible of all electrical feeders to wells and processing plants , that include 600 klms of HV transmission lines , 3 power plants and utilities . I was chairing meetings regarding HV& LV transmission lines, power plants performance, spare parts availability, contracts …etc.

I encourage the power committee & consultants to suggest many improvement incentives such as transmission line retrofitting, sectionalization , outer closers system protection enhancement .. Lost production index due to power(LPI) reports showed outstanding improvement ; LPI DECREASED from 7% to only 2.5 %.  I managed a professional engineering and specialist team who assess processing facilities, pipelines integrity, Power Plants , tank farm and meters performance .  I was responsible of 412 wells performance ( most of them on PCP& ESP) and water injection plant . Manage 5 power generation plants , 600 klms of HV electrical transmission lines .  I have the ability to motivate and energize staff for performance improvement . I always empower staff and encourage them to make decisions and come with new ideas. I always follow the rule of (make it right first time). Participated in the pre- commissioning of the main projects in GNPOC and formed a task force to establish Production Operation Philosophy and prepare the fields for production.  Developed with my staff the Fields operation Philosophy. Created the production Organization Structure which consists of Operations, Maintenance, Production Engineering , Planning and Training Sections . Later on two additional sections were developed to achieve the business target (Technical Service & Electrical Power).  Developed the Chemical injection program with the assistance of Operations Superintendent and lab supervisor. This was critical job because of the waxy oil nature and to ensure the pipeline will be operated smoothly and safely.  Engaged Operations and Maintenance Contractors to fill the positions and support the operations and maintenance until nationals can take over. I negotiated the contracts and got the best price in the regions. I higher the best contract staff after interview and to ensure, they are willing to transfer knowledge and skills to national grown staff.  Established Operations and Safety procedures and standards to ensure all the plants , Power stations , the 33 KV Over heads transmission lines will be operated continuously and safely .  Established Computerized Maintenance Management System to ensure adequate preventive , corrective maintenance and Overhaul activities are provided to all equipment when required and to monitor the spare parts stock level .  Established the ERP ( Oracle System) in Production Department , I was the steering committee member and responsible about all the processes of ERP establishment in Production department . We managed to work 3 years hand to hand with the consultant in ERP blue print , migration of all the historical facilities data &information to the new system ,established the maintenance procedures and workflow .  Established warehouse processes and spares inventory system . I hired 15 expad training staff who got the knowledge , skill . I managed to train the operators and technicians over 2-3 years training program to furnish the operations , lab, corrosion and maintenance sections with competent operators and technicians .  I established the career progression for engineers , operators & technicians to understudy the higher jobs and to nationalize them after through assessment . 400 supervisors , specialists , engineers, technicians and operators of very high caliper were graduated and now they are in all the gulf countries like Saudi Arabia ,Kuwait, Iraq, Oman & Abu Dhabi. I reviewed 5 different FDPs in REPID ( china ) , Petronas (Malyasia) & Sudan . I go through the G&G phase until the final geological model is finished. Then I follow with the reservoir engineers on the Engineering Dynamic model. I challenged the field economics to ensure its fit-for-purpose and no additional cost encored.  Worked as project director of Field Surface facilities phase 1 ( FSF1 The scope was 100 wells to be tied in and put on stream to produce 150,000 BOPD . The value of this project was $70 MM and the mode was on fast track bases to be completed/commissioned before June 1999 . ie. In one year time.  Responsible of Tie –in 100 wells in 5 fields ( Unity , Heglig , Toma South , Elnar and Eltoor fields ) to the field production facilities ( FPFs ) . The scope of work is to lead 18 staff ( project team ) to engineer , procure equipment and materials , construct and commission the inter-fields pipelines , oil gathering manifolds , Micro motion meters , overhead transmission lines , high voltage / low voltage transformers , switch gears , underground cables and MCC rooms .  I achieved the project on time and saved 6 million dollars. This saving come from low price of material transportation (negotiated good price) , commissioned the project before raining seasons , (saved on excavation equipment hours), saved the stores rental in mid-way between Port & fields (distance over 1200 KMs) , by applying security and rewards to drivers who achieved logistics goals.  I was very concerned about the inter-phasing issues between the different projects EPC1 , EPC2B and FSF1 . this is important for ensuring smooth flow achieved between different teams in different projects.  After the FDP reached the final stage , I was responsible about the team who purchased the artificial lift equipment , most of them were Electrical submersible pumps and progressive Cavity pumps. I hired the team who is responsible to complete the wells ,

It aimed to develop 1 well in Sharif field and 3 wells in Abugabra field . to build small topping plant in Abugara and to truck the oil from Sharif through all-weather road of 70 kms to Abu-gabra terminal .  I was responsible of Drilling, Testing, Completion of 3 wells in AbuGabra & Sharif Fields . Design Early Production Facilities (EPS). Supervise the Production. Contract Vendors & manage the logistics.  We built small loading facilities in Sharif well , where 105 tankers to be loaded and travel to Abu-gabra terminal for de-loading .  In Abu-gabara we built tank farm for oil , Naphtha , Gasoil ,kerosene and fuel-oil .
