This document discusses human-centered parking design best practices. It argues that parking design should prioritize pedestrians, vehicular circulation, parking space access, and parking capacity (layers 1-4). Traditionally, parking design focused on vehicles first but not the overall human experience. The document also notes that parking serves different groups with varying needs and expectations. It promotes flipping the traditional design approach to consider people interchanging between their vehicles and destinations, in order to create more pleasant parking experiences.
