Project-Based Learning for the foreign language classroom -- presented by Robin Harvey at Project DCLT's/NYS ALBETAC's 2008 Election Day Professional Development seminar for Chinese language teachers.
One of the most critical aspects of language teaching and learning—and often the most difficult for teachers to implement—is teaching in the target language. The presenters provided the rationale for target-language use to make authentic materials comprehensible to students. Studies, examples and strategies were shared, as well as ideas for how to react when students or parents push back. Materials to use with students were also shared.

Good grammar is a vital skill for advanced language proficiency: Knowing how words work and how they fit together is critical for putting foreign words to proper use. The need to learn grammar is always going to be part of language learning, and should not be neglected. Even when using an approach that emphasizes the acquisition of vocabulary, ways can and should be found to incorporate grammar into the learning process. The right strategies and technologies can overcome any objections about possible boredom or difficulty by making grammar learning appealing, efficient, and effective. This webinar explains the methodology of Lexical Functional Grammar and demonstrate how to integrate it into lesson planning.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

33. Our Success Stories
“Having studied French at several different centres,
Agape School of Education (previously named
Alpha Omega Education Centre) is unique in that it
does away with the “one size fits all” approach
and customises its French programme to suit
individual needs – and surpasses your wildest
expectations. I ended up passing DELF A1, A2
and B1 levels with results I couldn’t believe!
Furthermore, M. Gilbert combines fun and efficacy
in potent blend, so I leave each lesson exhausted
but extremely satisfied. And I did this in six months
while serving full-time national service. So if you’re
a NS-man and you want to ORD with a new
language under your belt, AGAPE is definitely the
”
place to get it!
