Essay Alternative Energy Sources for the World
The world has relied on the same sources of fuels and delivery systems for at least the past one
hundred years. Since the turn of the Industrial Revolution, the world has been dependent on coal,
oil, and other natural resources. These sources of fuel have worked fine for the world, until now.
At the rate it that these fuels are used the world may one day run out of these precious resources.
Our society must prepare now to utilize an alternate source for its fuel. The longer the world waits,
the harder it will be to replace these fuels before they run out. Four different types of fuels are
currently under research. These fuels are hydrogen, natural gas, bio fuels, and solar energy.
Currently under research is a new type of motor, known as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

1). In a process known as electrolysis, hydrogen is created by applying electricity to water. When
applied to water, electricity breaks down the water into bubbles of oxygen and hydrogen gases.
Some argue that this process would require electricity produced by current fuel sources.
However, this electricity could also be supplied by solar energy. Once created hydrogen must
then be stored and distributed. Hydrogen must be stored at super high pressures as a liquid.
Once stored, the hydrogen will then be converted back into a gas. This area of research is
making large strides to develop this storage technology. Once the researchers can overcome this
stage, it will be more readily available to the public. The infrastructure for hydrogen could be
adapted from the current system that is used. The gas, stations, and fueling stations could already
act as a means of distribution. This means hydrogen may one day be a logical replacement for
conventional fuels. Another promising type of fuel that can replace conventional fuels is natural
gas. Natural gas, found along with conventional fuels, is very abundant. Nearly 85% of natural gas
is made of methane (Gotlib, par. 1). It is found among the same petroleum deposits that
conventional oil is found or in sole gas deposits (Gotlib, par. 1). This gas has been around since the
beginning of time. In the early Chinese dynasty, collected from vents in the ground, the Chinese
used this

Series 7 Research Paper
Braun Series 5 5030s vs Series 7 740s The Series 5 and Series 7 have many of the same features,
but with more advanced technology available in the Series 7. That s really why Braun comes
out with the same features, but each model Series is an improvement over the last. The Series 5
5030s has an AutoSensing motor that will sense the denseness of your beard. The Series 7 740s
has a more advanced AutoSense and Sonic technology. The motor will read the thickness of your
whiskers and send more power to the blades. With the Series 5, you re getting a wet/dry shaver
that can be washed with running water in the sink. It s able to be used while charging, too. With
the Series 7, you re not going to be able to use your shaver while charging. That s... Show more

On the 5030s, the trimmer is pushed up from the back of the shaver. On the 740s, it is flipped
slightly to be used semi independently. The 740s should be less awkward to use compared to
the older model 5030s. There are big advances in technology from the Series 5 to the Series 7.
The biggest is the ability to change shaving modes. The 740s has 5 personalized shaving modes
that can be changed quickly. You can customize your shave for extra sensitive skin. The motor
will slow and the blades gentler on the face. At it s highest, the shaver motor is quick and sure. It
ll whisk away your beard quickly and efficiently. The 5030s doesn t have any shaving modes.
While the Series 5 doesn t have shaving modes, it does have the AutoSense motor as mentioned
before. In the 5030s, you re getting a MultiHeadLock. This allows you to lock the entire head
into 5 different angles. This helps under the nose and other areas like the jaw line. The 740s has a
fully flexible system that involves MicroMotion and MacroMotion. There are more angled
motions available, so it doesn t need to be locked in a certain position. It s fully adaptable to the
changing planes of your

How Is Paul Von Hindenburg A Hero
Paul Von Hindenburg was a renowned military and political leader for Germany; he is most
notable for being a distinguished Field Marshal for the Imperial German Army during WWI, and
being the second president of the Weimar republic. His military hero status was essential for his
ability to garner support from the German public. His monarchistic views were highly influential in
shaping the government while he was reigning as president, and as a result of his seat of
presidency, he was a major determining factor in the eventual fate of the republic. Born 1847, as
Paul Ludwig Hans Anton von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg in Prussia to an aristocrat father;

During and after the war, Hindenburg was seen as a national hero, and was considered to have
embodied all of the positive characteristics of the collective German people. While the appeal of
Hindenburg was present throughout all social classes, religions, and political view points, it was
the German right wing political groups which idolised Hindenburg the most; seeing him as a
portrayal of classic Prussian ethics, and Lutheran and Junker values. Despite this support for
Hindenburg personally at the home front, support for the war itself was dwindling, and after
General Ludendorf s failed spring offensive, the situation seemed hopeless for the German military.
With conditions on the home front worsening, and realising the dire situation Germany faced in the
war, on the 29th September 1918; General Hindenburg, General Ludendorf and the Kaiser Wilhelm
II agreed to establish a new democratic government in Germany to replace the current form of
government. In spite of this seeming like a victory for the democrats in Germany, it has been
argued that this was just an effort to deflect blame for the inevitable defeat at the hands of the allies
to left wing elements on the home front. As historian Douglas Newton states; The intentions of the
ruling elite... were quite transparent: ... to smother the prospect of a more thorough revolution from
below and to deflect responsibility for the military defeat on

Deciding Between Olympics or Baseball for My Reasearch Paper
Deciding on a topic for my multi genre English project was harder than I had expected.
Considering how much information is available, different viewpoints of the issue and whether or
not the subject would be interesting enough made finalizing a topic difficult for me. I narrowed my
choices down to the Olympic Gamesor Major League Baseball, as I have a strong interest in sports,
especially baseball. While researching the Olympics, I was able to find plenty of information.
When I first started my Google search, I simply typed in Olympics, which gave me over 200
million results. From there, I narrowed down my Google searches into much more specific
categories, such as the history of the Olympics, steroids in the Olympics and Special... Show more

From there, I simplified my searches into more narrow areas, such as the history of Major
League Baseball, steroids in the MLB and spring training for Major League Baseball. These
subtopics gave me fewer results, averaging in the 50 million range. With this many results for
the narrowed topics, taking different view points in each paper to the broader topic would be
easy. Using the same database as I did for the Olympics, EBSCO, I was able to find almost
26,000 results for Major League Baseball. The subcategories resulted in fewer sources, around
1,000 each. Google Scholar also offered a sufficient amount of sources, about 1 million for
Major League Baseball in general, and around 40,000 for each narrowed search. Both the
database results and Google Scholar results provided me with more educated writings and
information on Major League Baseball than that of Google. Again, eBooks seemed to be the
most logical answer to finding print sources on Major League Baseball. I was able to find over
100 eBooks, on one site alone, with information regarding Major League Baseball. The
information I found on Major League Baseball was interesting and ample. Using the sources I
found while researching the topic would lead to a well written multi genre project. After
considering many topics for my multi genre English project, I was able to narrow it down to the
Olympics or Major League Baseball. Then, after researching both subjects, analyzing the amount

Similarities Between The Wife s Bath And The Pardoners Tale
Throughout The Canterbury Tales, there are many different tales with many different plot lines.
In The Prioress Tale a child is killed by Jewish from the ghetto, once the Christians find the boys
dead body the Christians seek revenge. The Christians do this to repay the Jews for the sin of
killing. In The Wife s Bath and The Pardoner s Tale sins are committed and the sins need to be
paid for. Throughout the storyline of The Wife s Bath there is a knight who commits a terrible
sin. He has raped a girl and the townspeople believe he should be faced with the punishment of
death. King Arthur and the Queen believe differently, they believe he should get one chance of
life and they send him on a year long quest to get one question answered correctly. He assumed
this would be a breeze and took this lightly, once he started asking women for the answer to the
question of what they want the most, many women have many different answers. It is not until the
last few weeks on his way back to the King s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tale starts off with the Pardoner stating the men he is about to tell the tale about are very
sinful. One sinned for gluttony, next for drunkenness and swearing, and the last for gambling.
When the men find out one of their old friends was killed the three drunk men go to seek
revenge on someone who they believed went by the name death. When they come across
someone who might know the answer to where death is they are directed to a tree where they
wait for death to arrive. One of the three men go into town to get food and the other two plan a
way to kill the one who went to get food. The one who went to get food was planning a way to
poison and kill the other two. In the end all three men end up dead and this symbolizes their sins
being repaid. The sins of wanting to kill someone named death while also planning to kill each

Nitrogen Oxides Research Paper
What are nitrogen oxides?
Nitrogen oxides are a group of gases that are composed of nitrogen and oxygen. Two of the most
common nitrogen oxides are nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide. The chemical formula for nitric
oxide is NO; for nitrogen dioxide, it is NO2. Nitrous oxide, N2O, is a greenhouse gas that
contributes to climate change.
Nitric oxide is a gas with a sharp, sweet smell; it is colorless to brown at room temperature.
Nitrogen dioxide is a colorless to brown liquid at room temperature, with a strong, harsh odor. It
becomes a reddish brown gas at temperatures above 70 degrees F.
Nitrogen oxides are released into the air from motor vehicle exhaust or the burning of coal, oil,
diesel fuel, and natural gas, especially from electric power plants. They are also released during
industrial processes such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides react with precipitation, oxygen, and other substances in the
atmosphere to form acid rain.
Nitric oxide is used to bleach rayon and produce nitric acid. Nitrogen dioxide is used to produce
rocket fuels, explosives, and other chemicals. Nitrogen dioxide is sometimes used to bleach flour.
How might I be exposed to nitrogen oxides?
Nitrogen oxides are common pollutants found in most of the air in the United States. You can be
exposed to nitrogen oxides outdoors by breathing air that contains it, especially if you live near a
coal burning electric power plant or areas with heavy motor vehicle traffic. You can be exposed to
higher levels if air pollution and smog levels are high.
You can be exposed at home if you burn wood or use a kerosene heater or gas stove.
You can be exposed at home or at work, indoors or outdoors, through smoking cigarettes or
breathing second hand cigarette smoke.
You can be exposed at work if you work in a facility that produces nitric acid, explosives such as

Color Of Color And Color Essay
Color chart a brief explanation
You must have heard of color charts by now! Today, most companies are making use of charts to
represent different objects. Color is subjective, and each color represents different ideas. Basically,
it is found that there are different shapes of a single color which are referred to with different
names. With the help of a chart it is possible to describe the color of bromeliad parts. Now, there is
no need of referring to a color as red or yellow, instead, you have possibility of using a number from
the chart.
What is a color chart?
Firstly, it is vital for you to know the meaning of color charts. They are also referred to as color
reference cards which are defined as flat physical objects that come with a variety of color samples.
It is either a one page chart or available in the form of swatch books or even color matching fans.
Printable color chart templates appear to be very handy. This can help you carry the copy in your
wallet and refer to colors as and when necessary.
Understanding the color wheel
The color wheel is considered to be a chart that would reflect different colors that you probably
see in a rainbow or the colors obtained when white light passes through a prism. Basically, the
color wheel contains 12 shades and follows the basic principle of color theory. Primary colors
need no mixing! Once you have the primary colors in hand, there is no chance of mixing it with
any other colors.
The primary colors may include red,

Bloodstain Pattern Analysis Lab
Bloodstain pattern analysis (BPA) is the interpretation of bloodstains at a crime scene in order to
recreate the actions that caused the bloodshed. Analysts examine the size, shape, distribution, and
location of the bloodstains to draw about what happened. BPA uses principles of biology (behavior
of blood), physics (cohesion, capillary action and velocity) and mathematics (geometry, distance,
and angle) to assist investigators in answering questions like:
From where did the blood originate from?
What was the cause of the bloodshed? (weapons used)
From what direction was the victim wounded?
What were the positions of the victim/ attacker during the bloodshed?
Did anyone/anything move around after the bloodshed?
How many possible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Blood drops are falling freely and only moving because of the pull of gravity on it. At low
velocities, larger bloodstains are produced. Usually, low velocity bloodstains are a result of
blood dripping from a victim. Dripping blood often falls at a 90 angle. This causes a circular
bloodstain to form on the surface that hits it lands upon. The droplets range from 4mm 10mm.
However, this usually happens if the victim is not moving and completely still. If droplets are
falling from a moving object or person, (walking or running) they fall to the ground at an angle
(see angle of impact) and the direction of the movement can be established. Spines often appear
on bloodstains left behind and can be caused by drops repeatedly landing in the same place, by the
distance the drop falls (larger spines indicate larger distance), or by the surface upon which the
blood lands (rough surfaces cause more spines to form). Low velocity blood may also be found in
the trail of a person who is bleeding and larger pools of blood may indicate where the person

match the sales, improve forecasting and maintain a healthy relationship with Johnson Johnson
(its trading partner because the company culture was similar to them). A blueprint of all the
processes and responsibilities of the partner were listed down by Superdrug so as to align the
strategy of Superdrug with J J with the CPFR process. A joint business plan or agreement was
signed between the companies in 2000. Collaboration was done by comparing the Sales forecast
of Superdrug with the Order forecast of J J. The collaboration process usually takes a week to
complete. The IT department of both the organizations validate the Data and send them through a
Software known as Syncra . Then a conference call was made by the Supply Chain Department of
both the companies and reached to a forecast number. The project manager would review the
forecast and make further changes which is implemented by the IT department and the process

11: Despite all terrible things God is gracious and merciful.
I believe the book of Jonah intends to teach us that God is a gracious and merciful Lord who will
grant salvation to those who desire to repent, by the virtue of; accepting the Lord with all your
heart, mind, and soul. This idea is evident by the content of the book. First, we understand that
one cannot seek God and flee from him simultaneously. He wants us to obey his will even if
adversity chooses to arise. However, Jonah refuses the Lord s will and chooses to disobey him.
Consequently, Jonah is thrown overboard and swallowed by a fish. Although, once Jonah prays
for forgiveness the Lord grants it. Subsequently, Jonah preaches the gospel and the king of
Nineveh as well as his people repent to the Lord and forgives. This angers Jonah, even though the
Lord forgave Jonah of his atrocious act just as he did with the Ninevites. In conclusion, we learn
that if we repent and obey the Lord s calling, God will give an abundance of

Project Management Strategy
Introduction Project Management is all about managing your tasks and goals with the best use of
available resources within a fixed frame of time. To achieve the fixed time, the project manager
would need the proper coordination of all possible inputs required to carry out the task successfully.
One of such inputs is the project managementmaturity model which allows for improvement of
project management processes and systems (Crawford, 2006). Project management maturity is the
progressive development of an enterprise wide project management approach, methodology,
strategy, and decision making process. The appropriate level of maturity will vary for each

Such positioning is possible with strategic management because this process improves preparedness
for unexpected internal or competitive demands. Therefore, an organizational strategy is an all
encompassing approach for formulating, implementing and evaluating managerial decisions in a
way that permits the business to reach its objectives. For an organizational strategy to be successful,
however, the organization should:
Clearly see the need for change
Be firmly committed to the idea of changing the business planning process
Assure that the strategic management process has credibility with everyone involved
Make sure that final plans are realistic and reflect actual resources and capabilities
Train all participants in the procedures essential to the strategic management process
Develop concise and well organized plans One of such strategy is the implementation of Six
Sigma methodology in the organization. Six Sigma is a methodology that combines the gradual
and continuous improvement with radical redesign. The process of Six Sigma begins by
measuring the statistical variability within a process. This means that the causes of error can only
be determined if you understand the critical requirement of either the internal or external customer.
Six Sigma processes are designed to reduce process variability. Six Sigma helps the organization to
achieve improved process flows and better

The Evolution Of Hester s Suffering And The Forgiveness...
The Evolution of Hester s Suffering and the Forgiveness of Society
In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Hester Prynne is forced to wear a scarlet A on
her chest, because of the sin, adultery, she committed. This letter separates Hester from the rest
of the Puritans in the town, and causes her much loneliness and suffering. In the beginning of
the book, the Puritans are disgusted by Hester, and shun her. As the book goes on, however, the
townspeople slowly begin to let Hester into society, and use her as an example of how suffering
and good deeds can lead to salvation. Hester s view of herself does not change, and it shows that
society is not the only source of her suffering. Hester s suffering and lack of suffering from the
town reflect on the nature of the Puritans, and reveal how even the strictest of societies can show
compassion in certain circumstances. By being forced to wear the scarlet letter in the beginning of
the book, Hester becomes separated from the rest of society, and is now suffering because of it.
In the beginning of The Scarlet Letter, Hester is made an example of what happens if one is to
sin. The scarlet setter that Hester wears is used as a reminder of what happens when one commits
a sin. As soon as Hester puts on the scarlet letter, she is separated from the rest of society. The
scarlet letter had the effect of a spell, taking her out of the ordinary relations with humanity, and
inclosing her in a sphere by herself (51). This

Why Did The Erie Canal Change America
We come up with many ways to make our country better, to make it the best country out there
and the thing that really came close to completely changing America for the better was the Erie
Canal. Many people ask how did the Erie canal change America, well not only did it build one of
the biggest most successful city in the world but it help us with trade and money. Many problems
came along with the Erie Canal like the dangerous of making it as we had to use explosives. Other
problems were the growth in population, population wasn t a problem but because of such high
population that came with the Erie Canal transportation was horrible but like many other thing the
Erie canal solved its own problem. The Erie canal changed America for the better, growing is
population, making it money, and building one of the most successful city in the world.
When the Erie Canal was completed, although not supported at the start proved to be one the
greatest thing that has happened to America. One of the thing that made the Erie Canal great was
that it boosted trade miraculously. The Erie canal made it cheaper for Midwest farmers to bring

In the beginning of the twentieth century the role of the average woman and family was very
different to that of the later twentieth century, most women would stay at home with their
children while their husbands went out to earn money. It was at this time that the average
amount of children per woman was six; recent statistics show that it has dropped, alarmingly, to
1.7 (National Office Of Statistics), with many women choosing not to have children at all. Mike
Featherstone (1991) proposed that in modern day living, individuals have a great deal more
choice and freedom over how to live their lives. They do not have to battle with the parts of their
lifestyle that in pre industrial Britain would have stopped them from doing as they wish. He
suggested that it would not be unsurprising at all if family types did not become more diverse
and less obscure family types would not rise. This would indeed appear to be so; there is
evidence to show that the extended family is increasing at the moment due to the problem of a
lack of care homes, rising directly from the increase in life expectancy. This coupled with the idea
that teenage pregnancies are on the rise (UK has one of the highest teenage pregnancy rate in
Europe!) would suggest that a slight rise in the extended family would be almost definite. It can
also be seen that more people are

We have all heard the phrase Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
However, depending on how words are used, and the opinions associated with them, they can
indeed be very hurtful. Gloria Naylor writes about this in her article Mommy, What Does Nigger
Mean? She states words themselves are innocuous; it is the consensus that gives them true
power (Naylor 481). She explains that African Americans use of nigger does not in anyway
invite Caucasians to use it. Naylor is accurate when she writes that the word nigger would not be
offensive had it not been for the thoughts, and sometimes, action others associate with it. In
Naylor s essay, she recalls the first time she truly heard the word nigger. Because Naylor came
from a southern family and then moved to Harlem she heard the word countless times. However,
she never truly heard it until it came from a white classmate. Naylor was sitting in her third
grade class as the teacher passed back their tests. As Naylor turned around to pass back a test
belonging to the student behind her, she noticed that once again his score was less than hers.
Quickly snatching his paper he called her a nigger, She simply did not understand what it meant,
prompting her to raise and ask the teacher. The teacher proceeded to scold the young boy for
using a bad word. This only confused her more. As the school day ended and the students went
home, she mustered the courage to ask her mother. Naylor ends the article before she tells us
what her mother said. People have words they use with their family that would be hurtful had
they come from outsiders. Gloria Naylor makes a great point when she articulates, So there
must have been dozens of times that the word nigger was spoken in front of me before I reached
the third grade. But I didn t hear it until it was said by a small pair of lips that had already
learned it could be a way to humiliate me (483). Naylor grew up hearing nigger everywhere she
went. It was used as a term of endearment. It was used to describe people with great achievement.
Occasionally it was used to describe a small group in the community who were not great people
(481). However,

The Sacred Language of Toni Morrison Essay
The Sacred Language of Toni Morrison
Toni Morrison makes a good point when, in her acceptance speech upon receiving the Nobel
Prize in Literature, she says, Narrative . . . is . . . one of the principal ways in which we absorb
knowledge (7). The words we use and the way in which we use them is how we, as humans,
communicate to each other our thoughts, feelings, and actions and therefore our knowledge of the
world and its peoples. Knowledge is power. In this way, our language, too, is powerful.
In her acceptance speech, Morrison tries to communicate the idea that we must be careful with how
we use our words. She analogizes the use of language to the life of a metaphoric bird in a tale of a
wise, old, blind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout her speech, Toni Morrison works towards defining and supporting this thesis of
responsibility. It is our responsibility, as users of words, to make language thrive. Elizabeth Fox
Genovese has a similar goal, but takes a different approach in her essay The Claims of a Common
Culture: Gender, Race, Class and the Canon. She speaks on the use and composition of the canon
taught in humanities classes. Her idea is that the canon of today is much too one sided and does
not include the influence of the several different cultures, peoples, and ideas that make up our
society. She says that with respect to representativeness, the canon fails woefully. It represent[s] a
small, sometimes minute, portion of the elite, which itself constitute[s] a statistical minority of the
population (Fox Genovese 19). In this abstract way, Fox Genovese is reiterating Morrison s words
that what we say, and how we say it (or teach it), or what we fail to say (as in the canon taught
today) is monumentally influencing and impactful upon others.
If we are not aware of the words that come out of our mouths due to lack of thought or attention,
we all suffer and we are all at fault: When language dies, out of carelessness, disuse, indifference,
and absence of esteem, or killed by fiat, . . . all users and makers are accountable for its demise
(Morrison 14 15). The standards of society are changing and with them the

Strategic Action Disney On Consumer Focused Initiative Essay

Disney took in terms of consumer focused initiative? Give examples. (15 marks) In 1992, Euro
Disney was launched in Paris. This project unexpectedly received undesirable feedback from its
target market since the company wrongly assumed that it would be easily accepted by the Western
European market. Disney received criticisms and negative publicity as they were thought to have
brought American imperialism into Europe and the French government acquired farmland just to
create the theme park which resulted to protests from the French farmers. Cultural issues also arose
as most of its employees did not accept well the management style and the dress code, the customers
were not satisfied with the language used in the theme park, with the ban of alcohol consumption,
the pricing of tickets and merchandise, etc. The company learned that they had to be aware and
have a full understanding of the culture of their host nation and apply it to the operations of the
theme park; and this is the main strategic action that they had to pursue in order to capture the
desires and interest of their customers. As a result, Euro Disney was changed to Paris Disneyland to
strengthen the identity and nationalism of the theme park in relation with its host nation, France,
and in turn the French were

Femininity In The Military
Military civilian relationships have been problematic when intermingling of races occurred. For
almost twenty years, America fought in the notorious Vietnam War, supporting South Vietnam. Due
to the length of the war, military civilian relationships were bound to develop. Thus, both the South
Vietnamese and the American government made policies in order to maintain an alliance between
their citizens. Due to encouraged toxic masculinity, the presence of femininity in the military, and
racial differences, policies, such as the V.D. Control policy and the policy listed in the Fact Sheet,
were essential in order to promote healthy relationships between American troops and Vietnamese
women.

Since prostitution was legalized, Vietnamese police became known for harassing the women for
being prostitutes if they shared a taxi with an American male. The police did not approve of the
intermingling of Vietnamese with Americans. This displeasure originated from the newly
established social norm of creating prostitution houses in order to cater to foreign troops.
Prostitution was the relationship highlighted between American troops and the Vietnamese largely
due to the toxic masculinity expressed by the American troops. Based on these factors and the
harassment of police, sustaining a relationship outside of prostitution was difficult because
Vietnamese women were discouraged from spending time with foreigners due to harassment and
embarrassment. Therefore, in order to promote healthy relationships, American officials created a
Fact Sheet with instructions regarding the role of an American male in a situation where his taxi is
stopped because he is with a Vietnamese female. The purpose of the Fact Sheet was to protect the
women from other Vietnamese, specifically the police, who did not approve of their relationship
with American males or who simply wanted to profit from making women feel uncomfortable. This
protection would help

Evolution Of The Initial Entry Training Essay
The evolution of the Initial Entry Trainer dates back to the early 1960s, when the drill sergeants
(DS) were introduced into the training force. The DS have continued to be the key factor to
instilling discipline and standards in our new Soldiers. Over time, the Army has evaluated and
made changes to the programs to ensure the best possible training is available for new recruits.
The introduction of the advanced individual training (AIT) platoon sergeants was one of the
most recent changes to the initial entry training (IET) program. The Army will continue to
evaluate and assess the IET training program to assure training is still relevant to the needs of
the Army. Late in 1962, Secretary of the Army Elvis J. Stahr Jr. directed Under Secretary of the
Army Stephen Ailes to survey how the recruits are trained in the Army. The research was pooled
from a wide variety of personnel and took a very longtime. This research also included other
branches of service, comparing techniques and strategies to ensure they had the most accurate data
available. The survey findings concluded the noncommissioned officers (NCOs) were poorly
regarded working long hours, lack of free time for family concerns, and inadequate staffing. The
survey also concluded that the caliber of NCOs that were selected were below the standard
required by other services. (unknown, n.d.) The next year the Army began pilot courses at Fort

Evaluate The Social And Economic Effects Of The Berlin Wall
The Berlin wall had a massive impact on east and West Germany, socially, economically and how
the contrast between them affected each other when the wall fell.
On 13 August 1961, a wall was erected through Berlin, named the Berlin Wall. The wall completely
cut off West Berlin from surrounding East Germany. I will be evaluating the social and economic
impacts the Berlin Wall had on East and West Germanywhen it got built, and how they affected
each other after the wall fell. Before the wall Germany has recently been defeated in World War II
this caused Soviets, Americans, British and French to hold a conference meeting to decide the
division of Germany. They decided to divide Germany into four zones one for each. France, the
U.S. and Britain were guaranteed access to their zones in Berlin, even though they had to pass
through the Soviet zone to get there. But the differing ideology of the Soviets and their former
allies became apparent almost immediately.
Soviets controlled most of East Europe and started to install communist governments in nations
like Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary. But people started to flee the harsh strict rule of these
countries. 2.6 million East Germans had escaped to West Germany. This had a devastating effect
on East Germany because the majority of the people who left were young skilled people, such as
intellectuals, doctors and engineers. This was humiliating to East Germany and they didn t want to

The Pros And Cons Of The Overland Campaign
The Overland Campaign, which saw the bloodiest fighting in the continent of North American,
was a necessary evil to end the American Civil War. Starting on May 4th of 1864, the newly
promoted Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant committed to destroying Robert E. Lee and his
Army of Northern Virginia in the field. First, one must look at what the Overland Campaign
entailed. Next, this paper will examine previous major Northern victories and consider the
differences between them and Grant s campaign. Finally, one can come to the conclusion that
the Overland Campaign effectively helped end the war and without it, fighting was sure to be
prolonged. After his successes in the West, U. S. Grant became the first Lieutenant General
since George Washington on March 2nd of 1864 and assumed command of the entire Union
Army. Hopes were high for General Grant, seen in a letter the previous year, President Abraham
Lincoln expressed his trust for Grant when he that he originally feared it was a mistake in
regards to his attack on Vicksburg and I now wish to make the personal acknowledgment that you
were right, and I was wrong. Heretofore, Union Generals in the East focused on capturing specific
cities, however, Grant wanted to cripple the Confederate Army. In a letter from Grant to Major
General George Meade before the Overland Campaign began, he outlined his intentions of the
operation, writing that Lee s army will be your objective point. Wherever Lee goes, there you will

Chinese Food In Jade Snow Wong s Fifth Chinese Daughter
Looking at food as multidimensional, as something that shapes us, our identities, our cultures (
Stajcic, 8), Jade Snow Wong strongly believes that Chinese food is a marker of the Chinese
identity. As a non verbal form of communication, food is notably at the center of every important
event in our lives, such as birthdays, weddings, holidays and funerals. Within ritual contexts,
food often stands in for expressions of life, love, happiness or grief (Stajcic,13). Therefore, she
devotes a lot of space in Fifth Chinese Daughter to descriptions of Chinese food habits, customs
of weddings and funerals, Chinatown daily life, as well as business dealing intending to reveal
the mystery of the Chinese community (Bardhan, 186). She takes the white reader on a
gastronomic tour , and she describes Chinese meals, takes pain to explain the ritualistic
significance of certain meals and folks beliefs about the medicinal properties of certain
ingredients (Stefanovici,216). Jade Snow s undoubted connection to the Chinese heritage is
manifested in her endless employment of Chinese food cooking and recipes, and in her
descriptions of festivals and family rituals. Her self discovery voyage is reflected in her journey
through the various assortments of tastes of different Chinese dishes. From the very beginning of
the novel, she proclaims that she is very lucky to be born [as] a Chinese daughter (43). She states

For beginners, the orthodox church believed in the consensus of god and maintaining the mystery
and faith of Christianity while the roman catholics believed in the laws and rules made and
enforced by the pope. The orthodox church supports the belief in the holy trinity (the father, the
son, and the holy spirit) while the roman catholics believed in the Nicene creed, which believed
in only the father and the son. In addition, the orthodox church followed other books in addition
to the holy bible, such as Esdras and 3 and 4 maccabees (classroom.synonym.com). One of the
main differences between the two is that the roman catholics believe in the original sin, which
they believed was the eating of the forbidden apple by adam and eve. The orthodox church,
however, believed that instead of the eating of the forbidden apple leading to the original sin, the
punishment for their ignorance to gods rules of the garden was death. This lead to the orthodox
church believing that jesus goal was to conquer death, while the roman catholics believed that he
died for all our sins. Islam has a clear cut difference between the other two. For starters, Islam
believed not in jesus, but in a merchant and prophet name Muhammad who claimed to receive a
revelation from god and ordered everyone who believed in and followed him to kill all pagan
worshipers in the name of god. While Christianity

Introduction . Salt, Scientifically Referred To As Halite,
Introduction
Salt, scientifically referred to as Halite, is chemical composition of Sodium and Chlorine
minerals. It s presence in the everyday lives of individuals is incalculable; Salt is evidently
prevalent in our diet and methods used for food preservation, however, salt is surprisingly present
in other elements of our lives as significant as language. This essay will appreciate the various roles
that salt plays along with the risks that are attached to the ingestion of this particle. Additionally, this
paper will outline the history of salt with specific emphasis placed on its extraction processes, and
its influences on the English language.

The salt bed is subsequently blasted, crushed, and broken into smaller pieces which are brought
to the surface for processing and finessing. The mining of salt beds results in rock salt which is
used primarily as a highway de icer (Kostick 2004). Alternatively, mechanical evaporation occurs
through the vacuum pan process. As described in the article introduced above by Kostick (2004),
this energy conserving process begins with a salt saturated brine which is brought to a boil,
rectangular pans with steam heated immersion coils are used to facilitate the evaporation process
(Kostick, 2004). Once the evaporation occurs, rotating rakes collect the salt and the extracted
product is laid out to dry. The mechanical evaporation of salt saturated solution results in flake
shaped salt, often used for cheeses, butter, and baked goods as described in Kostick (2004).
In the same article, written by Kostick (2004), the author states that the extraction of sea salt
requires an entirely unique process called solar evaporation. Halite isn t the only mineral present in
sea water, because of this, each mineral must be separated from the water in order to extract the salt.
First, seawater is collected distributed in ponds that function to concentrate and ultimately
evaporate the minerals within the water. The brine is subsequently circulated across a multiplicity
of interconnected ponds with the salinity increasing as it transfers

Continuing operations also grew 19 percent to $665 million, compared to $557 million in 2010.
The CEO, Bob Stevens, stated that this strong third quarter is the result of the company s focus to

Napa Valley History
Napa Valley is a region of California (United States), known for its wine production. Napa s name
derives from Wappo which is the name of the indigenous Indians who inhabited the region. The
valley is located in Napa County. Its length is 48 kilometres long, concentrates more than 300 wine
producers and represents, somehow, the new industry, not only because it produces excellent
quality wines, but because it has managed its merger with gastronomy and tourism. Each year about
8 million people visit Napa Valley, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in California
(Gmelch et al., 2011).
According to Paul Wagner , Janeen Olsen and Liz Thach (2010), despite the economic difficulties
worldwide, this market continues growing thanks to the increased demand from a new generation
of consumers who are keen on wine, the Millennial Generation. They are people of both sexes,
aged between 20 and 32 years, representing over 70 million of the US population. Paul Wagner
points out: They are young, have no fear and they were born with a computer under his arm and an

Violent Video Games Essay
The Case for Violent Video Games Video Games have been a source of fun and enjoyment for
many people, whether they are kids or adults. Violent video games are the most popular types of
video games. Many young gamers are quite obsessed over these games. Recently violent video
games (VVGs) have been accused of being the source to many mass shootings in the world,
accused of corrupting the minds of young gamers. This is wrong. Violent Behavior in Video
Games Violent video games are blamed for being linked to levels of aggression. Many people
believe VVGs raise levels of aggression; however, studies show that belief is false. Although
VVGs have violent content, it does not coincide with the levels of aggression being increased.
Ratings for VVGs have regressed from their original state of maturity, meaning younger kids can
play these games. If young children are approved to play VVGs then there must be reasons.
Adults want their children to be social and make friends and video games can help them do that.
According to Jack Hollingdale, playing cooperative team player video games increases empathy
and decreases aggression (Hollingdale, 2014). Aggression levels are not the only factors thought
to be linked to VVGs, hostility levels are another topic for arguing. To help prove that video games
do not make young gamers want to hurt others a study was done. This study consisted of 43 young
adults from ages 12 18, most of the youth were Caucasian American males. The

Reflection Of John Wesley s Theology Of Healing
When Jesus healed the paralyzed man, Jesus said to him that Take heart, son; your sins are
forgiven. (Matthew 9:2b) Whenever I read this scripture verse, I wondered why he said this way in
this healing moment and how forgiveness of sins is related to healing. John Wesley s theology of
healing completes my understanding of salvation. It used to be focused on Wesley s order of
salvation when salvation comes up as a topic in the seminary. It starts with prevenient grace and
ends with glorification. In this process of salvation, I didn t think about the relationship between
healingand salvation. His understanding of salvation based on holistic health and healing was
something new I learned in this class. It was interesting to see how Wesley was passionate about
holistic healing for the people in the world.
As a consequence of his efforts on holistic healing, he was able to publish Primitive Physick , a
collection of advice for preserving health and treating diseases. Wesley s interest in heath and
healing was a central dimension of his ministry and of the mission of early Methodism.
According to Randy Maddox, Wesley s life long study of medical works was derived by
Anglican clergy s tradition to offer medical care as part of their overall ministry. Wesley valued
Thomas a Kempis The Imitation of Christ as a guide of spiritual health and the Primitive Physick
as a guide of physical health. However, he didn t consider medicine as the only way to cure the
people. In his book

User Fees
State and local governments over the past several decades have seen a dramatic decrease in state
and local government revenue. This is partly due to the reduction of the amount of revenue
states and local governments can obtain from property taxes due constraints and the reduction
in federal and state aid at the local level. As a result, state and local governments have turned to
the idea of charging user fees. User fees are a fees charged for the use of a products or services.
Unlike a tax, which is imposed on the general population of a state or local municipality, a user
fee is only charged to an individual when that individual uses that product or service. An example

People are willing to except an increase in user fees because there is nothing forcing a person to
pay any particular user fee. Increasing taxes is hard because the general population must pay a
tax increase whether they disagree with the increase or not. If an individual does not agree with
the increase in a particular fee then they simple can schoose to not use a particular service or
product. Additionally, user fees also allow for local government to diversify revenue sources.
Meaning that user fees can be generated from different sources such as golf course fees,
swimming pool fees and fees for entrances to national parks. The fees charged tend to have prices
that reflect the true cost of production. This means that individuals pay fees that tend to reflect the
actual cost of operating a product or service. People begin to see a direct link between payment and
benefit. At the same time individuals see the benefit of user fees related to the benefits provided,
local governments are able to track which services local communities want. This reduces the

Vertical integration is the process of combining firms, usually under a single ownership, that are
different parts of a larger production scale. This could be anything from two firms to all of the
firms that make up the supply chain. Due to combining multiple smaller firms, this form of
integration has an effect on the market power that the firm(s) has (Riordan, 2008). This differs to
horizontal integration which is the combination of firms or expansion of a single firm at one
particular point of the production process (Black, Hashimzade, Myles, 2009, p. 206 7).
Vertical integrationis usually carried out in one of two ways. Upstream, which can be referred to

248). As well as this they will benefit from having a reliable retailer that will have a consistent
demand for their products. Although they will have a consistent buyer for their products the
subsidiaries will have to receive a lower unit price for their products as a result of bringing down
their costs after the integration. This is not a negative as the demand for their product is consistent
and the fall in market price will be proportional to the fall in costs.
As well as Smithfield, other meat and poultry production firms have benefitted from having highly
integrated production chains such as Tyson, ConAgra and Swift (Pepall, Richards, Norman, 2008,
p. 449). The integration of these firms is consistent with Lieberman s views (1991, p. 452) of why
upstream integration may take place. The main reason which is applicable to this situation is that if
the inputs in question account for a large proportion of total cost (which animals being bred for
meat will do) then the downstream firm is more likely to integrate.
Although all these firms are highly integrated and could offer much lower prices than they already
do to the consumers they choose not to. Having a higher mark up allows them to receive higher
profit margins from the lower input costs while keeping similar market prices for their final output.
This is a form of non price

Gnomeo And Juliet Essay
many love stories originate from previously existed love, as either to continue the story or to
improve on the story line or even just to recreate the story/play into a movie. There are many
successful remakes of plays and some that did not work out, as they did not contain the deep roots
and meanings of the original play/ story. Many Shakespearian plays and stories were recreated into
movies to entertain audiences and to get the morals across to the audience by a more naГЇve and a
youthful way for all kinds of watchers. William Shakespearehas wrote many plays that hold vast
concepts that do nit intrigue the reader when he/she reads it but when they understand the concept
and story behind it.

It is a cartoon based version of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet are gnomes in
Gnomeo and Juliet; the story line is pretty much similar to the actual Romeo and Juliet. Gnomeo
and Juliet have many twists and turns that make it applicable for young audiences to watch and
understand. The gnomes are set in 2 peoples backyards and Juliet s family are the red gnomes
and Romeos family are the blue gnomes. The owners of both houses and the mother and father of
Romeo and Juliet are Capulet and Montague in Shakespeare s version. The gnomes are to only to
move when the owners of both houses are not present. Gnomeo and Juliet both fell in love but
when they learnt that they are both from nemesis families, they knew their love is forbidden. When
the family found out that Juliet loves Gnomeo they went to war in their own backyards and
Romeos best friend ordered a lawn mower to win the battle faster but that only turned it into the
worse as a monument fell over Romeo and Juliet, but thankfully they didn t die. The story ends with
both families and homeowners in peace and Romeo and Juliet getting

The Secret Of Empathy, Enlightenment, And Internal Growth...
The Secret of Empathy, Enlightenment, and Internal Growth There are two senses of reality:
external and internal. External reality is an observable universe, but perspectives differ and thus
cause different opinions. To experience internal reality is to confuse one s own reality with a
shared reality, resulting in a loss of empathy and disregarding how others are affected. An
external mindset displays an understanding of different opinions in a shared world, whereas with
internal mindset a person s devotion to a belief becomes their private world. When a person is
passionate about their beliefs they tend to disregard other perspectives, or live internally. This is a
common practice because, depending upon upbringing, different moral values have been instilled
in the person. Typically, people will not partake in activities or actions that defy their morality, so
they tend to align with others who share similar values. However, people who are unwilling to
think beyond their own beliefs lose their sense of empathy. The more devoted a person is to their
morals, the less empathy they might have. When we look outside ourselves to other perspectives,
we can better connect to an external rather than simply an internal reality, approaching the world
with an enlightened state of mind capable of both empathy and consistent growth. A less narrow
minded person is capable of accessing an external reality. Typically, it seems that the more devout
citizens are more closed minded. They

Fast Food Based American Diet
In contrast to the fast food based American diet, the French spend large amounts of time

traditions that have been developed over the centuries have added to the making of French cuisine
into a skilled and refined art. The French are responsible for the historic tradition of serving dishes

When people think of French gastronomy wine is an essential component of her culture. While it
remains a one of many licit joys the French indulge in, this gluttony is an important image and
offering to tourist. Although parts of France greatly rely on the production and manufacturing of
wine more than the actual consumption, they still rather enjoy their wine. Oenology in itself is a
very interesting study and takes the appreciation of the drink to a whole new level. French wine is
much like the French themselves its well dressed, elegant, never overpowering, and well behaved.
Even on the topic of Oenology the variety and quality that France provides is incredible. Two well
known regions, RhГґne and Bordeaux, produce the some famous wine names such as CГґtes du
RhГґne and ChГўteau d Yquem. The CГґtes du RhГґne is more earthy and tends to be described as
rustic while ChГўteau d Yquem is a sweeter or dry wine, and also holds the record for most
expensive wine bought at 117,000$. Avoiding great detail it s easy to say that the difference
starts in the soil that makes the grapes. In a way the wine can be seen as a model for modern
production and food by promoting quality and variety, in other words, an optimistic point of view
for French food. France is always advancing in food and wine production therefore it is a fair
assumption that they will continue to grow together.

Opiate Dependency
Opiate Dependency vs. Opiate Addiction
Today the recent growth of prescription opioid painkillers has made opiate use far more
domesticated and widespread than ever before. Even though heroin use has declined, the use of
prescription opiates has increased. The use of prescription opiates for people who are dependent
on the drugs for pain reduction has lead to an increase in abuse. When a family member or friend
begins taking the drugs, not because they need them, but because they want to feeling, it becomes
an addiction. Even though an addict is dependent on opiates, a person who is opiate dependent is
different because of the psychological, physical, and financial effects. An addict has very different
psychological behaviors, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An opiate dependent person does not have the inability to think clearly and adapt easily into a life
without the opiates. When an addict is presented with the challenge of stopping the use of opiates,
the brain needs it more than ever before. Even long after the withdrawal symptoms are gone; an
addict must deal with post acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS). The syndrome lasts from six to
eighteen months after the last use. It has importance to the recovering addict s ability to benefit
from recovery, treatment, function effectively on the job, interact with family and friends, and
regain emotional health. When a person becomes an addict or even dependent for a prolonged
period of time, treatment is necessary. Though there are a variety of different ways that each
person can be treated. Usually a person who is dependent is gradually taken off the opiates, by a
process known as dose reduction. Subsequently a dependent person may also have some type of
therapy to help alleviate the pain at the same time as the dose reduction. On the other hand for an
addict, things are different because they must stop using the opiates all together. Today there are
many medications such as methadone, suboxone, or subutex that doctors use to help ease the
symptoms of withdrawal. Similarly the process of dose reduction is used in this case as well. Most
addicts must also enter a program like in patient or intensive out patient rehab, where they must

Essay on Pool Scenes in The Graduate
Pool Scenes in The Graduate
At first glance it may seem that the swimming pool in Ben?s backyard is no more than an
insignificant setting choice for the movie. After close examination, however, the pool fills a critical
role as the symbol of the recent college graduate?s internal struggle with decisions regarding his
future. Key scenes involving the swimming pool and the related aquarium in Ben?s room chronicle
the evolution of his transition from adolescents into adulthood.
The opening scene of the movie in which Ben?s face is visible through the glass of his aquarium
tank demonstrates his role as an adolescent upon arriving home from college. This is, however,
only recognizable in a later scene taking place at the party his ... Show more content on

Robinson?a friend of his parents. This woman, the same age as his mother, becomes the catalyst
for Ben?s eventual transition into adulthood. The first evidence of this is after Mrs. Robinson
requests a ride home from Ben; she tosses her car keys to him but instead of landing in Ben?s
hands, the keys fall into his fish aquarium. The emphasis of this action in the movie by a zoom in
and pause on the tank demonstrates its importance as Ben?s childhood life, signified by the
aquarium, has just been contaminated. The encounter foreshadows the loss of innocence that Ben
experiences with his sexual relationship with Mrs. Robinson after she seduces him. At first,
however, Ben does not give into her advances rejecting the idea of adult behaviors like an affair
with a married woman.
Resistance to growing up is further evident in his 21st birthday party at his parent?s home. This
age has long had social significance in our culture?with the age comes freedom to drink, the end
of childhood, and most significantly for Ben, the official and very public entrance into the adult
world. After receiving a wet suit and scuba gear for his birthday, Ben?s parents ask him to take a
swim in the pool to show off his new gift in front of the party guests. Objecting heavily, his father
coerces him until he makes the walk from the house and enters the pool in his gear, obliging the
crowd of his parents? friends. Eager to watch Ben find direction and become

The Cosmological Argument On The Existence Of God
Theories have arisen from many different philosophers trying to explain the existence of God; the
Cosmological Argument is one such theory. The Cosmological Argument has been changed and
reviewed for years; however, the focus has always stayed the same. The universe is a prime
example that there is a God. A simple Cosmological argumentstates that:
Everything that exists has a cause of its existence. The universe exists.
Therefore,
The universe has a cause of its existence. If the universe has a cause of its existence, then that cause
is God.
Therefore,
God exists (NA, 2008).
In my opinion, this argument has very basic and broad statements that may be difficult or
impossible to be proven false. Everything that exists has a cause of its existence and The universe
exists are two statements that can be difficult to prove incorrect. We know that nothing is made
without a reason behind it, and nothing is made without a process leading up to its creation. The
universe exists cannot be proven false without some very abstract thinking involved. We know
that the universe exists because you and I exist, everything around us exists, and the world on
which we live and the universe in which we live exist. We can conclude that the universe has a
cause of its existence because we can prove that the universe exists by stating that humans and
objects around us exist. In my opinion, we can can also conclude that everything in the universe
has a cause as to why it was created

Mommy Bear Book Report
Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world said by Nelson Madela
is the best quote to describe why children should be reading books about the LGBT community.
The positioning of the difficult topic in classrooms can be shown through the research done by
Ohio State University in high schools. By reading LGBTliterature over time on a normal basis it
normalized the idea to the children. Education is important to all children, but the education on the
LGBT community is difficult to find in any community. Through reading different types of fiction
teachers, parents, and others can introduce and teach about the different life styles in our
communities today.
In The New Goldilocks and the Tree Bears: Mama Bear, Mommy Bear, and Baby Bear the
timeless story is transformed to show how families can have different structures. Through reading
the book the first item that is can be clearly seen are the bright colorful illustrations. These
illustrations attract the reader and make the children more engaged in the story. The concept of two

sympathetic nervous system and the adrenal cortical system. The sympathetic nervous system uses
nerve pathways to initiate reactions in the body, and the adrenal cortical system uses the
bloodstream. The combined effects of these two systems are the fight or flight response. When the
hypothalamus tells the sympathetic nervous system to kick into gear, the overall effect is that the
body speeds up, tenses up and becomes generally very alert. If there s a burglar at the door, you re
going to have to take action fast. The sympathetic nervous system sends out impulses to glands and
smooth muscles and tells the adrenal medulla to release epinephrine and norepinephrine into the
bloodstream. These stress hormones cause several changes in the body, including an increase in
heart rate and blood pressure. At the same time, the hypothalamus releases corticotropin releasing
factor into the pituitary gland, activating the adrenal cortical system. The pituitary gland secretes
the hormone ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone). ACTH moves through the bloodstream and
ultimately arrives at the adrenal cortex, where it activates the release of approximately thirty

  • 2. Essay Alternative Energy Sources for the World The world has relied on the same sources of fuels and delivery systems for at least the past one hundred years. Since the turn of the Industrial Revolution, the world has been dependent on coal, oil, and other natural resources. These sources of fuel have worked fine for the world, until now. At the rate it that these fuels are used the world may one day run out of these precious resources. Our society must prepare now to utilize an alternate source for its fuel. The longer the world waits, the harder it will be to replace these fuels before they run out. Four different types of fuels are currently under research. These fuels are hydrogen, natural gas, bio fuels, and solar energy. Currently under research is a new type of motor, known as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1). In a process known as electrolysis, hydrogen is created by applying electricity to water. When applied to water, electricity breaks down the water into bubbles of oxygen and hydrogen gases. Some argue that this process would require electricity produced by current fuel sources. However, this electricity could also be supplied by solar energy. Once created hydrogen must then be stored and distributed. Hydrogen must be stored at super high pressures as a liquid. Once stored, the hydrogen will then be converted back into a gas. This area of research is making large strides to develop this storage technology. Once the researchers can overcome this stage, it will be more readily available to the public. The infrastructure for hydrogen could be adapted from the current system that is used. The gas, stations, and fueling stations could already act as a means of distribution. This means hydrogen may one day be a logical replacement for conventional fuels. Another promising type of fuel that can replace conventional fuels is natural gas. Natural gas, found along with conventional fuels, is very abundant. Nearly 85% of natural gas is made of methane (Gotlib, par. 1). It is found among the same petroleum deposits that conventional oil is found or in sole gas deposits (Gotlib, par. 1). This gas has been around since the beginning of time. In the early Chinese dynasty, collected from vents in the ground, the Chinese used this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Series 7 Research Paper Braun Series 5 5030s vs Series 7 740s The Series 5 and Series 7 have many of the same features, but with more advanced technology available in the Series 7. That s really why Braun comes out with the same features, but each model Series is an improvement over the last. The Series 5 5030s has an AutoSensing motor that will sense the denseness of your beard. The Series 7 740s has a more advanced AutoSense and Sonic technology. The motor will read the thickness of your whiskers and send more power to the blades. With the Series 5, you re getting a wet/dry shaver that can be washed with running water in the sink. It s able to be used while charging, too. With the Series 7, you re not going to be able to use your shaver while charging. That s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the 5030s, the trimmer is pushed up from the back of the shaver. On the 740s, it is flipped slightly to be used semi independently. The 740s should be less awkward to use compared to the older model 5030s. There are big advances in technology from the Series 5 to the Series 7. The biggest is the ability to change shaving modes. The 740s has 5 personalized shaving modes that can be changed quickly. You can customize your shave for extra sensitive skin. The motor will slow and the blades gentler on the face. At it s highest, the shaver motor is quick and sure. It ll whisk away your beard quickly and efficiently. The 5030s doesn t have any shaving modes. While the Series 5 doesn t have shaving modes, it does have the AutoSense motor as mentioned before. In the 5030s, you re getting a MultiHeadLock. This allows you to lock the entire head into 5 different angles. This helps under the nose and other areas like the jaw line. • 4. How Is Paul Von Hindenburg A Hero Paul Von Hindenburg was a renowned military and political leader for Germany; he is most notable for being a distinguished Field Marshal for the Imperial German Army during WWI, and being the second president of the Weimar republic. His military hero status was essential for his ability to garner support from the German public. His monarchistic views were highly influential in shaping the government while he was reigning as president, and as a result of his seat of presidency, he was a major determining factor in the eventual fate of the republic. Born 1847, as Paul Ludwig Hans Anton von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg in Prussia to an aristocrat father; Robert von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg, and his wife; Luise Schwickart,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During and after the war, Hindenburg was seen as a national hero, and was considered to have embodied all of the positive characteristics of the collective German people. While the appeal of Hindenburg was present throughout all social classes, religions, and political view points, it was the German right wing political groups which idolised Hindenburg the most; seeing him as a portrayal of classic Prussian ethics, and Lutheran and Junker values. Despite this support for Hindenburg personally at the home front, support for the war itself was dwindling, and after General Ludendorf s failed spring offensive, the situation seemed hopeless for the German military. With conditions on the home front worsening, and realising the dire situation Germany faced in the war, on the 29th September 1918; General Hindenburg, General Ludendorf and the Kaiser Wilhelm II agreed to establish a new democratic government in Germany to replace the current form of government. In spite of this seeming like a victory for the democrats in Germany, it has been argued that this was just an effort to deflect blame for the inevitable defeat at the hands of the allies to left wing elements on the home front. As historian Douglas Newton states; The intentions of the ruling elite... were quite transparent: ... to smother the prospect of a more thorough revolution from below and to deflect responsibility for the military defeat on ... • 5. Deciding Between Olympics or Baseball for My Reasearch Paper Deciding on a topic for my multi genre English project was harder than I had expected. Considering how much information is available, different viewpoints of the issue and whether or not the subject would be interesting enough made finalizing a topic difficult for me. I narrowed my choices down to the Olympic Gamesor Major League Baseball, as I have a strong interest in sports, especially baseball. While researching the Olympics, I was able to find plenty of information. When I first started my Google search, I simply typed in Olympics, which gave me over 200 million results. From there, I narrowed down my Google searches into much more specific categories, such as the history of the Olympics, steroids in the Olympics and Special... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From there, I simplified my searches into more narrow areas, such as the history of Major League Baseball, steroids in the MLB and spring training for Major League Baseball. These subtopics gave me fewer results, averaging in the 50 million range. With this many results for the narrowed topics, taking different view points in each paper to the broader topic would be easy. Using the same database as I did for the Olympics, EBSCO, I was able to find almost 26,000 results for Major League Baseball. The subcategories resulted in fewer sources, around 1,000 each. Google Scholar also offered a sufficient amount of sources, about 1 million for Major League Baseball in general, and around 40,000 for each narrowed search. Both the database results and Google Scholar results provided me with more educated writings and information on Major League Baseball than that of Google. Again, eBooks seemed to be the most logical answer to finding print sources on Major League Baseball. I was able to find over 100 eBooks, on one site alone, with information regarding Major League Baseball. The information I found on Major League Baseball was interesting and ample. Using the sources I found while researching the topic would lead to a well written multi genre project. After considering many topics for my multi genre English project, I was able to narrow it down to the Olympics or Major League Baseball. Color is subjective, and each color represents different ideas. Basically, it is found that there are different shapes of a single color which are referred to with different names. With the help of a chart it is possible to describe the color of bromeliad parts. Analysts examine the size, shape, distribution, and location of the bloodstains to draw about what happened. BPA uses principles of biology (behavior of blood), physics (cohesion, capillary action and velocity) and mathematics (geometry, distance, and angle) to assist investigators in answering questions like: From where did the blood originate from? What was the cause of the bloodshed? (weapons used) From what direction was the victim wounded? What were the positions of the victim/ attacker during the bloodshed? Did anyone/anything move around after the bloodshed? How many possible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Blood drops are falling freely and only moving because of the pull of gravity on it. At low velocities, larger bloodstains are produced. Usually, low velocity bloodstains are a result of blood dripping from a victim. Dripping blood often falls at a 90 angle. This causes a circular bloodstain to form on the surface that hits it lands upon. The droplets range from 4mm 10mm. However, this usually happens if the victim is not moving and completely still. If droplets are falling from a moving object or person, (walking or running) they fall to the ground at an angle (see angle of impact) and the direction of the movement can be established. Spines often appear on bloodstains left behind and can be caused by drops repeatedly landing in the same place, by the distance the drop falls (larger spines indicate larger distance), or by the surface upon which the blood lands (rough surfaces cause more spines to form). Low velocity blood may also be found in the trail of a person who is bleeding and larger pools of blood may indicate where the person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The primary motive of CPFR strategy was to decrease inventory so as to match the sales, improve forecasting and maintain a healthy relationship with Johnson Johnson (its trading partner because the company culture was similar to them). A blueprint of all the processes and responsibilities of the partner were listed down by Superdrug so as to align the strategy of Superdrug with J J with the CPFR process. A joint business plan or agreement was signed between the companies in 2000. Collaboration was done by comparing the Sales forecast of Superdrug with the Order forecast of J J. The collaboration process usually takes a week to complete. The IT department of both the organizations validate the Data and send them through a Software known as Syncra . I believe the book of Jonah intends to teach us that God is a gracious and merciful Lord who will grant salvation to those who desire to repent, by the virtue of; accepting the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul. This idea is evident by the content of the book. First, we understand that one cannot seek God and flee from him simultaneously. He wants us to obey his will even if adversity chooses to arise. However, Jonah refuses the Lord s will and chooses to disobey him. Consequently, Jonah is thrown overboard and swallowed by a fish. Although, once Jonah prays for forgiveness the Lord grants it. Subsequently, Jonah preaches the gospel and the king of Nineveh as well as his people repent to the Lord and forgives. This angers Jonah, even though the Lord forgave Jonah of his atrocious act just as he did with the Ninevites. • 15. The Evolution Of Hester s Suffering And The Forgiveness... The Evolution of Hester s Suffering and the Forgiveness of Society In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Hester Prynne is forced to wear a scarlet A on her chest, because of the sin, adultery, she committed. This letter separates Hester from the rest of the Puritans in the town, and causes her much loneliness and suffering. In the beginning of the book, the Puritans are disgusted by Hester, and shun her. As the book goes on, however, the townspeople slowly begin to let Hester into society, and use her as an example of how suffering and good deeds can lead to salvation. Hester s view of herself does not change, and it shows that society is not the only source of her suffering. Hester s suffering and lack of suffering from the town reflect on the nature of the Puritans, and reveal how even the strictest of societies can show compassion in certain circumstances. By being forced to wear the scarlet letter in the beginning of the book, Hester becomes separated from the rest of society, and is now suffering because of it. In the beginning of The Scarlet Letter, Hester is made an example of what happens if one is to sin. The scarlet setter that Hester wears is used as a reminder of what happens when one commits a sin. As soon as Hester puts on the scarlet letter, she is separated from the rest of society. The scarlet letter had the effect of a spell, taking her out of the ordinary relations with humanity, and inclosing her in a sphere by herself (51). This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the beginning of the twentieth century the role of the average woman and family was very different to that of the later twentieth century, most women would stay at home with their children while their husbands went out to earn money. It was at this time that the average amount of children per woman was six; recent statistics show that it has dropped, alarmingly, to 1.7 (National Office Of Statistics), with many women choosing not to have children at all. Mike Featherstone (1991) proposed that in modern day living, individuals have a great deal more choice and freedom over how to live their lives. They do not have to battle with the parts of their lifestyle that in pre industrial Britain would have stopped them from doing as they wish. He suggested that it would not be unsurprising at all if family types did not become more diverse and less obscure family types would not rise. This would indeed appear to be so; there is evidence to show that the extended family is increasing at the moment due to the problem of a lack of care homes, rising directly from the increase in life expectancy. However, depending on how words are used, and the opinions associated with them, they can indeed be very hurtful. Gloria Naylor writes about this in her article Mommy, What Does Nigger Mean? She states words themselves are innocuous; it is the consensus that gives them true power (Naylor 481). She explains that African Americans use of nigger does not in anyway invite Caucasians to use it. Naylor is accurate when she writes that the word nigger would not be offensive had it not been for the thoughts, and sometimes, action others associate with it. In Naylor s essay, she recalls the first time she truly heard the word nigger. Because Naylor came from a southern family and then moved to Harlem she heard the word countless times. However, she never truly heard it until it came from a white classmate. Naylor was sitting in her third grade class as the teacher passed back their tests. As Naylor turned around to pass back a test belonging to the student behind her, she noticed that once again his score was less than hers. Quickly snatching his paper he called her a nigger, She simply did not understand what it meant, prompting her to raise and ask the teacher. The teacher proceeded to scold the young boy for using a bad word. This only confused her more. As the school day ended and the students went home, she mustered the courage to ask her mother. Naylor ends the article before she tells us what her mother said. People have words they use with their family that would be hurtful had they come from outsiders. Gloria Naylor makes a great point when she articulates, So there must have been dozens of times that the word nigger was spoken in front of me before I reached the third grade. But I didn t hear it until it was said by a small pair of lips that had already learned it could be a way to humiliate me (483). Naylor grew up hearing nigger everywhere she went. The Sacred Language of Toni Morrison Essay The Sacred Language of Toni Morrison Toni Morrison makes a good point when, in her acceptance speech upon receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature, she says, Narrative . . . is . . . one of the principal ways in which we absorb knowledge (7). The words we use and the way in which we use them is how we, as humans, communicate to each other our thoughts, feelings, and actions and therefore our knowledge of the world and its peoples. Knowledge is power. In this way, our language, too, is powerful. In her acceptance speech, Morrison tries to communicate the idea that we must be careful with how we use our words. Throughout her speech, Toni Morrison works towards defining and supporting this thesis of responsibility. It is our responsibility, as users of words, to make language thrive. Elizabeth Fox Genovese has a similar goal, but takes a different approach in her essay The Claims of a Common Culture: Gender, Race, Class and the Canon. She speaks on the use and composition of the canon taught in humanities classes. Her idea is that the canon of today is much too one sided and does not include the influence of the several different cultures, peoples, and ideas that make up our society. She says that with respect to representativeness, the canon fails woefully. It represent[s] a small, sometimes minute, portion of the elite, which itself constitute[s] a statistical minority of the population (Fox Genovese 19). In this abstract way, Fox Genovese is reiterating Morrison s words that what we say, and how we say it (or teach it), or what we fail to say (as in the canon taught today) is monumentally influencing and impactful upon others. If we are not aware of the words that come out of our mouths due to lack of thought or attention, we all suffer and we are all at fault: When language dies, out of carelessness, disuse, indifference, and absence of esteem, or killed by fiat, . . . all users and makers are accountable for its demise (Morrison 14 15). (15 marks) In 1992, Euro Disney was launched in Paris. This project unexpectedly received undesirable feedback from its target market since the company wrongly assumed that it would be easily accepted by the Western European market. Disney received criticisms and negative publicity as they were thought to have brought American imperialism into Europe and the French government acquired farmland just to create the theme park which resulted to protests from the French farmers. Cultural issues also arose as most of its employees did not accept well the management style and the dress code, the customers were not satisfied with the language used in the theme park, with the ban of alcohol consumption, the pricing of tickets and merchandise, etc. The company learned that they had to be aware and have a full understanding of the culture of their host nation and apply it to the operations of the theme park; and this is the main strategic action that they had to pursue in order to capture the desires and interest of their customers. Prostitution was the relationship highlighted between American troops and the Vietnamese largely due to the toxic masculinity expressed by the American troops. Over time, the Army has evaluated and made changes to the programs to ensure the best possible training is available for new recruits. The introduction of the advanced individual training (AIT) platoon sergeants was one of the most recent changes to the initial entry training (IET) program. Adults want their children to be social and make friends and video games can help them do that. According to Jack Hollingdale, playing cooperative team player video games increases empathy and decreases aggression (Hollingdale, 2014). Aggression levels are not the only factors thought to be linked to VVGs, hostility levels are another topic for arguing. To help prove that video games do not make young gamers want to hurt others a study was done. This study consisted of 43 young adults from ages 12 18, most of the youth were Caucasian American males. • 35. Reflection Of John Wesley s Theology Of Healing When Jesus healed the paralyzed man, Jesus said to him that Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven. (Matthew 9:2b) Whenever I read this scripture verse, I wondered why he said this way in this healing moment and how forgiveness of sins is related to healing. John Wesley s theology of healing completes my understanding of salvation. It used to be focused on Wesley s order of salvation when salvation comes up as a topic in the seminary. It starts with prevenient grace and ends with glorification. In this process of salvation, I didn t think about the relationship between healingand salvation. His understanding of salvation based on holistic health and healing was something new I learned in this class. It was interesting to see how Wesley was passionate about holistic healing for the people in the world. As a consequence of his efforts on holistic healing, he was able to publish Primitive Physick , a collection of advice for preserving health and treating diseases. Wesley s interest in heath and healing was a central dimension of his ministry and of the mission of early Methodism. According to Randy Maddox, Wesley s life long study of medical works was derived by Anglican clergy s tradition to offer medical care as part of their overall ministry. Wesley valued Thomas a Kempis The Imitation of Christ as a guide of spiritual health and the Primitive Physick as a guide of physical health. However, he didn t consider medicine as the only way to cure the people. In his book ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The employees answered questions regarding their working conditions, hours worked, training, compensation, treatment, communication, and security. The results of the survey are disappointing to the management at BIMS as the response was only 17.3% of their employees expressing how they feel about the company, and jobs. The initial survey indicated that most of the DMC employees were very unhappy with their current position, their salary, and their work experience at BIMS. With this, the hypothesis for the initial survey is that the results are skewed based upon a lack of input from employees. For BIMS to fully understand the higher than normal turnover rate at this particular facility, additional data will need to be collected. As BIMS initial survey process resulted in such a dismal return rate it left the management staff asking more questions than it has resolved. Debbie Horner, human resources manager realized the flaw in the employee survey and believed additional data was pertinent to BIMS success in lowering turn over rates and set about designing a ... • 37. User Fees State and local governments over the past several decades have seen a dramatic decrease in state and local government revenue. This is partly due to the reduction of the amount of revenue states and local governments can obtain from property taxes due constraints and the reduction in federal and state aid at the local level. As a result, state and local governments have turned to the idea of charging user fees. User fees are a fees charged for the use of a products or services. Unlike a tax, which is imposed on the general population of a state or local municipality, a user fee is only charged to an individual when that individual uses that product or service. An example of a user fee would a toll charge. Not all citizens must pay a toll charge.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People are willing to except an increase in user fees because there is nothing forcing a person to pay any particular user fee. Increasing taxes is hard because the general population must pay a tax increase whether they disagree with the increase or not. If an individual does not agree with the increase in a particular fee then they simple can schoose to not use a particular service or product. Additionally, user fees also allow for local government to diversify revenue sources. Meaning that user fees can be generated from different sources such as golf course fees, swimming pool fees and fees for entrances to national parks. The fees charged tend to have prices that reflect the true cost of production. This means that individuals pay fees that tend to reflect the actual cost of operating a product or service. People begin to see a direct link between payment and benefit. At the same time individuals see the benefit of user fees related to the benefits provided, local governments are able to track which services local communities want. Vertical integration is the process of combining firms, usually under a single ownership, that are different parts of a larger production scale. This could be anything from two firms to all of the firms that make up the supply chain. Due to combining multiple smaller firms, this form of integration has an effect on the market power that the firm(s) has (Riordan, 2008). This differs to horizontal integration which is the combination of firms or expansion of a single firm at one particular point of the production process (Black, Hashimzade, Myles, 2009, p. 206 7). Although they will have a consistent buyer for their products the subsidiaries will have to receive a lower unit price for their products as a result of bringing down their costs after the integration. This is not a negative as the demand for their product is consistent and the fall in market price will be proportional to the fall in costs. As well as Smithfield, other meat and poultry production firms have benefitted from having highly integrated production chains such as Tyson, ConAgra and Swift (Pepall, Richards, Norman, 2008, p. 449). The integration of these firms is consistent with Lieberman s views (1991, p. 452) of why upstream integration may take place. The main reason which is applicable to this situation is that if the inputs in question account for a large proportion of total cost (which animals being bred for meat will do) then the downstream firm is more likely to integrate. Although all these firms are highly integrated and could offer much lower prices than they already do to the consumers they choose not to. Having a higher mark up allows them to receive higher profit margins from the lower input costs while keeping similar market prices for their final output. This is a form of non price ... • 40. The Secret Of Empathy, Enlightenment, And Internal Growth... The Secret of Empathy, Enlightenment, and Internal Growth There are two senses of reality: external and internal. External reality is an observable universe, but perspectives differ and thus cause different opinions. To experience internal reality is to confuse one s own reality with a shared reality, resulting in a loss of empathy and disregarding how others are affected. An external mindset displays an understanding of different opinions in a shared world, whereas with internal mindset a person s devotion to a belief becomes their private world. When a person is passionate about their beliefs they tend to disregard other perspectives, or live internally. This is a common practice because, depending upon upbringing, different moral values have been instilled in the person. Typically, people will not partake in activities or actions that defy their morality, so they tend to align with others who share similar values. However, people who are unwilling to think beyond their own beliefs lose their sense of empathy. The more devoted a person is to their morals, the less empathy they might have. When we look outside ourselves to other perspectives, we can better connect to an external rather than simply an internal reality, approaching the world with an enlightened state of mind capable of both empathy and consistent growth. A less narrow minded person is capable of accessing an external reality. Typically, it seems that the more devout citizens are more closed minded. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The emphasis of this action in the movie by a zoom in and pause on the tank demonstrates its importance as Ben?s childhood life, signified by the aquarium, has just been contaminated. • 44. The Cosmological Argument On The Existence Of God Theories have arisen from many different philosophers trying to explain the existence of God; the Cosmological Argument is one such theory. The Cosmological Argument has been changed and reviewed for years; however, the focus has always stayed the same. The universe is a prime example that there is a God. A simple Cosmological argumentstates that: Everything that exists has a cause of its existence. The universe exists. Therefore, The universe has a cause of its existence. If the universe has a cause of its existence, then that cause is God. Therefore, God exists (NA, 2008). In my opinion, this argument has very basic and broad statements that may be difficult or impossible to be proven false. Everything that exists has a cause of its existence and The universe exists are two statements that can be difficult to prove incorrect. We know that nothing is made without a reason behind it, and nothing is made without a process leading up to its creation. The universe exists cannot be proven false without some very abstract thinking involved. We know that the universe exists because you and I exist, everything around us exists, and the world on which we live and the universe in which we live exist. We can conclude that the universe has a cause of its existence because we can prove that the universe exists by stating that humans and objects around us exist.
