Controlled environment agriculture (CEA) using renewable energy is a viable option for climate change adaptation and food security in Africa. CEA uses technology to modify the growing environment and optimize plant growth, increasing yields. Countries like Israel have successfully used greenhouse CEA powered by renewable energy to achieve food security and economic development. For Africa to achieve food security amidst climate change, widespread adoption of CEA powered by the continent's abundant renewable energy resources is needed. Governments should implement policies to support the commercialization of CEA.
