1. TEC Corporation has developed a line of aerogel coatings called Aero-Coat for thermal insulation with varying levels of heat resistance from 120°C to 300°C.
2. The document discusses the specifications and benefits of the different Aero-Coat products, particularly the Aero-Coat-300 which provides insulation for temperatures up to 300°C.
3. Case studies demonstrate the effectiveness of applying the aerogel coating at job sites, such as reducing the surface temperature of pipes at a petroleum refinery in China from 280-300°C to 90-100°C after applying an 8-9mm layer of the coating.

There is no royal road for making a particular room acoustically good. It mainly depends on the ideas of the engineer or the Architect. Each case is to be studied separately and after proper thinking and calculations, suitable materials may be specified.
Aerogel is a solid with the lowest known density, it stands upto 2000 times greater load than its own weight. It has low thermal conductivity; the material is very suitable to limit the heat losses of buildings. Its meltingtemperature is 1200°C. Well dampens vibrations and sound. Aerogel is the only compound with significant thermal insulation capabilities, which is corrently well clear. For these reasons, it is possible to consider aerogel as amaterial of the future not only in construction, and therefore it is necessary to deal with this interesting material now.

Aerogel is a synthetic porous ultralight material derived from a gel, in which the liquid component of the gel has been replaced with a gas. The result is a solid with extremely low density[1] and low thermal conductivity. Nicknames include frozen smoke,[2] solid smoke, solid air, or blue smoke owing to its translucent nature and the way light scatters in the material. It feels like fragile expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam) to the touch. Aerogels can be made from a variety of chemical compounds.[3]
Aerogel was first created by Samuel Stephens Kistler in 1931, as a result of a bet[citation needed] with Charles Learned over who could replace the liquid in "jellies" with gas without causing shrinkage.[4][5]
Aerogels are produced by extracting the liquid component of a gel through supercritical drying. This allows the liquid to be slowly dried off without causing the solid matrix in the gel to collapse from capillary action, as would happen with conventional evaporation. The first aerogels were produced from silica gels. Kistler's later work involved aerogels based on alumina, chromia and tin dioxide. Carbon aerogels were first developed in the late 1980s.[citation needed]
Aerogel does not have a designated material with set chemical formula but the term is used to group all the material with a certain geometric structure.[6]

An ideal flanged joint would consist of two, mirror-finish, perfectly flat
and parallel surfaces bolted directly together to create a leak-free seal.
However, manufacturing processes do not allow for perfect sealing surfaces.
Most flange faces have surface irregularities that cannot be sealed without
the use of some type of compressible, resilient material or a combination of
materials between them to seal the fluid being transferred. This is true
even for the most finely machined surfaces as a turbine flange where the
surface asperities can create a leak situation.
Project Sales Corp presents an exhaustive range of sealing and gasketing
material that can be used to effectively seal flanges and in many cases seal
leaks that can develop in operation and can be sealed in-situ without an
outage of the equipment. We stock gasketing compounds, jointing Compounds,
Flange Sealants, Thread Sealants, Pipe Sealants, Form-in-place RTVs, Turbine
Flange Sealing Compounds. Please see attached presentation for more details.

Saving energy with insulation.
A decisive role in modern process guidance for reducing energy consumption is played by the insulating materials used in every refractory lining.
As invisible but important components in every refractory lining, high-temperature insulating materials reduce the lining's thermal profile and thereby protect the furnace's steel shell from excesive heating effects.
With our newly developed PROLITE®, we offer our customers a highly insulating material made of biogenic silicilic acid, which combines these factors in a sustainable way.
Experimental Test on Gfrp-Epoxy Composite Laminate for Mechanical, Chemical &...IOSR Journals
GFRP (glass fibre reinforced plastic) composite materials are used in many engineering applications
because of its high strength to weight ratio. The purpose of this experiment is to investigate mechanical,
chemical and thermal properties of GFRP rotor blades which are used in cooling towers. These blades are
manufactured by pressure bag moulding process by using suitable mould. Before installation (Delivery), the
blade must be tested for mechanical, chemical, thermal and other properties. For this testing, GFRP laminate is
made by hand layup technique. Epoxy resin is used as matrix in manufacturing of the gfrp laminate
The desired to reach higher efficiencies, lower specific fuel consumption and reduced emission in modern engines has becomes the primary focus of engine researches and manufactures over the past three decades. Ceramic coating is a solution to such problem as they provide good thermal barrier properties for designers. In the design of adiabatic engines, reducing in cylinder heat rejection requires very special thermal barrier coatings on the engine combustion chamber. Partial Thermal barrier coatings (TBC) on the top surface of the piston is considered as a solution for reduction of unburned Hydrocarbon (HC) emission produce by incomplete combustion with respect to crevice volume when engines start. The TBC on the top piston surface decreases the thermal conductivity and increases the unburned charged oxidation, so that the metallic substrates will be exposed to lower peak temperature thereby reducing the thermal stress in engines components. Also thermal barrier coatings on other elements of combustion chamber of internal combustion engine offer advantages including fuel efficiency, multi fuel capacity and high power density. Therefore, thermal barrier coating (TBC) technology is successfully applied to the internal combustion engines, in particular to the combustion chamber.

◈Background
Silica Aerogel can be used in coatings to improve thermal insulation and hydrophobic performance of the coatings. But it is
very important to select right form of aerogel to achieve target performances.
Only a few years ago, it was impossible to mix aerogel to other materials. Due to this reason, we have developed “wet-Aerogel”
which can be mixed into other materials easily. And then, we have developed two kinds of products finally!

With “Aerogel-W”, We have developed 4types of aerogel coatings. In Korea, Several large companies already have been using this aero-coat-series.
Especially, Aerocoat-300 is being applied to components of complex structures (engine part, pipe curved sections…etc) in which insulation is
needed or which existing insulation blanket can not cover.

Aerogel Blanket
Firstly, the existing blanket has no Hydrophobic. so the blanket absorbs the moisture
and eventually shrinks. Therefore it causes the inconvenience of having to replace the
blanket after a certain period of time.
In case of aerogel blanket, although it has made up on the weakness of existing blanket, aerogel
blanket experience the process of oxidation due to the oxygen created from the gap between the
pipe and the surface of aerogel blanket during the construction process

High Temperature Resistance
However, our aerogel coating fully supplements the weakness of blanket.
• firstly, our aerogel coating is hydrophobic
• second, when coating the “aero-coat” to the pipe, we can completely avoid
oxidation corrosion because there is no oxygen involved.
• thirdly, in order to attach a the blanket to the pipe, it must be measured and
constructed separately which requires a lot of technicians. but our product only
requires one to mix the ingredients in the right proportions and just spray them.

Conclusion
Solution - A
We also agree with you about Dry time issue. If you are concerned about Dry-time,
we recommend you to see following solutions.
The insulating performance improves and the threat of crack decreases as the
temperature inside of pipe increases. And of course, it will shorten the time gap of
the coating time. If there’s a device inserting steam into the pipe to increase the
temperature.
Please try to apply to pipe systems with Aero-coat-
300.
If you want to develope new system to insulate for
higher temperature (maximum 300 ℃) applications
such as steam. Also You can lower volume of pipe
by installing aerogel coating system than now.
Our “Aerogel Coating”is an excellent insulator!!
