some form of action,
usually to make a purchase
or participate in a
particular behavior.

impacting social behavior
 Anthropologists view it as ritual
and symbols
 It influences on child
development
 Communication scholars often
equate it with propaganda
Advertisement as a boon
 Informs the consumer about qualities
and prices.
It helps the consumer to save time.
It provides knowledge about the new
designs of the commodities to
consumer.
Advertising as a curse
An organization has to spend large
amount on advertising.
It increases the cost of the products.
An advertisement is a sort of day
dreaming for the people that takes
people away from reality and close to
artificiality.
Advertising as a Curse
Distorted version of
reality is shown in the
advertising, believing
in it consumers buy
the products and feel
cheated.
Every manufacturer
projects his product
as superior one in the
advertisement.
Conclusion
Advertisement sometimes can be
misused.
It is up to both advertisers and
consumers to ensure that advertising is
used intelligently and responsibly.

  • 2. What is Advertising? Advertising is the process of communication where by a person or group of people are persuaded to take some form of action, usually to make a purchase or participate in a particular behavior.
  • 4. There are several reasons for advertising  Increasing the sales of the Product or Service. Creating and maintaining a brand identity or real image. Communicating a change in the existing Product lines.
  • 5. Different views on Advertising  Source of learning or condition  Establishing role models and as impacting social behavior  Anthropologists view it as ritual and symbols  It influences on child development  Communication scholars often equate it with propaganda
  • 6. Advertisement as a boon  Informs the consumer about qualities and prices. It helps the consumer to save time. It provides knowledge about the new designs of the commodities to consumer.
  • 7. Advertising as a curse An organization has to spend large amount on advertising. It increases the cost of the products. An advertisement is a sort of day dreaming for the people that takes people away from reality and close to artificiality.
  • 8. Advertising as a Curse Distorted version of reality is shown in the advertising, believing in it consumers buy the products and feel cheated. Every manufacturer projects his product as superior one in the advertisement.
  • 9. Conclusion Advertisement sometimes can be misused. It is up to both advertisers and consumers to ensure that advertising is used intelligently and responsibly.
