Robotic thyroid surgery is an advanced surgical option for treating thyroid diseases like hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules, and goiter. The robotic surgery uses small incisions and four robotic hands controlled by the surgeon to remove all or parts of the thyroid gland. This allows for better vision and precision. Depending on the condition, the surgeon may perform a subtotal thyroidectomy to remove a small portion, or a near-total thyroidectomy leaving only a small part. Other options include biopsy, lumpectomy to remove a nodule, or lobectomy to remove half the gland. Robotic thyroid surgery is becoming increasingly available to treat thyroid conditions.

6. Types of Thyroid disease
Hypothyroidism is a type of thyroid disorder in which the thyroid hormone producti
on is below the average level. Symptoms like sudden weight gain, depression, memor
y loss, constipation, muscle cramps, lack of concentration can occur if a person is suff
ering from this type of disorder. Too much or too less Iodine intake in the diet can be
a prime reason behind the thyroid disorder.
Thyroid nodules can be found inside thyroid glands in the form of messes or chunk.
Goitre is a condition when the thyroid gland enlarges. In this current medical conditi
on, patients are more likely to suffer from cold and cough. They can also experience d
ifficulties while eating food chunks.

Robotic Thyroid surgery was initially performed by South Korean surgeons.
This method is used to terminate some parts of the thyroid gland. In this surgery,
the patient is left with no spot on their neck area. But this surgery does not mean
a robot will perform an operation on the thyroid patient.
In the Robotic Thyroid Surgery also studied as Robotic Thyroidectomy, a thyroid g
land is implemented in the body through armpit area of a person. The surgery als
o inputs a 5 mm small incision in the patient's chest area. The surgery is done thr
ough a process called DaVinci.

9. This particular surgery is done with four robotic hands, console and a 3D camera.
In this surgery, the robotic hands and the 3D camera is inserted through the insert
ion. Therefore the surgeon can clearly do the needful. These robotic hands are com
pletely under the surgeon's control. Through the advanced surgery, there can be a
better vision of the actual affected area of the thyroid gland. The robotic hands allo
w the surgeon to move six degrees for acute surgery.
Once the robotic surgery is done, there can be chances to find some affected part,
and in these cases, subtotal thyroidectomy is performed to subside the small porti
on of the thyroid tissue. There is another surgery studied as a near-total thyroidec
tomy. This surgery is mainly articulated when a single tissue of the germ is left in t
he patience thyroid gland.

10. Apart from this robotic surgery, there is a biopsy or lumpectomy, which is use
d to eliminate a single part of the thyroid gland. A lobectomy surgery is perfor
med when the half portion of thyroid gland needs to be removed.

hospitals. This thyroid disease might be mild in its initial stage but must not b
e ignored completely.
