I have decided to cast Bella Rix as Character A because, with
her background in studying drama, she will be able to present
the variety of emotions that Character A expresses in a very
realistic way. In drama GCSE, I witnessed Bella performing
pieces that contained quite complex emotions. In some of her
performances, she showcased some of the emotions that
Character A would be experiencing in my story which means
that Bella does have experience with playing roles such as this
one. I need the acting of this character to be realistic in order
for the film to be effective which is something that I think Bella
can easily bring to the role. Also, she is of the same age as my
intended target audience (17-18 year olds) which means that
my audience will find it much easier to be able to relate to her
character.
I have decided to cast Mabel Collins as The Friend. Once again,
she is of the same age as the intended target audience which
will make her more relatable. Through doing drama GCSE with
Mabel, I managed to see her acting versatility and noticed that
she was particularly talented at playing the part of an innocent
character. For this role, Mabel will be playing the victim which
means that she will have to seem innocent in order to gain
empathy from the audience. Her appearance is also quite
innocent and almost child-like at times which will add to the
required element of innocence. Therefore, I feel as though she
would be perfect as the role of The Friend.
Character A -
The Friend -
Character A will wear a baggy, quite heavy coat that
will look worn and not looked after. She will also
wear dark jeans and dark coloured boots in order to
add colours that have possible connotations of
mystery or fear that are typical features of this
genre. Also, the character will look messy in order to
show her mental deterioration.
The Friend’s costume will be a contrast to Character
A’s costume. She will wear quite pale colours in
order to resemble a sense of innocence. Also, she
will have a much neater appearance which will be
reflective of the fact that she is more focused on her
looks and what’s around her instead of on her own
mind like Character A.
Character A will use a rucksack to carry the
gun from her house to The Friend’s house.
I will need to use a toy gun for end where
Character A shoots The Friend.
Character A will ride a bike down Holmsley
Passage road from her house to The
Friend’s house.
