This document describes a project to develop a four-quadrant control system for a DC motor powered by AC supply. The motor can operate in four quadrants - clockwise, counter-clockwise, forward brake, and reverse brake. A 555 timer is used to generate pulses to instantly brake the motor in both directions by applying a reverse voltage. Push buttons are interfaced to control the motor's operation through a driver IC. The system provides four-quadrant operation suited for industrial motors that need to stop immediately, and could potentially be enhanced with regenerative braking or higher power components.

This Paper represents the analysis of induction motor speed control using VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) system operated by PLC-SCADA system. The main aim of the paper is to dealt with the concept of speed control of a three-phase induction motor with energy saving. To do so, a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) is used for controlling the speed of a three-phase induction motor with variable load attached to the motor. It certainly leads to the best performance and high efficiency of the induction motor. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) are two new systems to control a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) whose output is given to a three-phase induction motor and driving a conveyor belt. The conveyor belt has three sensors are inputs which senses a passing object and carries out the necessary instructions programmed in ladder logic programming of the PLC through the computer (PC). The SCADA software installed in the PC in turn enables the human operator to control the entire operation away from the plant and just by using the virtual inputs designated on his computer screen.

Brushless DC (BLDC) motor drives are becoming more popular in industrial and traction applications. Hence the control of BLDC motor in four quadrants is very vital. The flexibility of the drive system is increased using digital controller. In this paper the PWM signals for driving the power inverter bridge for BLDC motor have been successfully implemented using a dsPIC controller and the motor can be controlled in all the four quadrants without any loss of power .Energy is conserved during regenerative braking period. The digital controller dsPIC, is advantageous over other controller, as it combines the calculation capability of digital signal processor and controlling capability of PIC microcontroller to achieve a precise control. Simulation of the proposed model is done by using MATLAB/Simulink.

Basically it started as the “Internet of Computers.” Research studies have forecast an explosive growth in the number of “things” or devices that will be connected to the Internet. The resulting network is called the “Internet of Things” (IoT) [1]. The recent developments in technology which permit the use of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi have enabled different devices to have capabilities of connecting with each other. Using a WIFI shield to act as a Micro web server for the Arduino which eliminates the need for wired connections between the Arduino board and computer which reduces cost and enables it to work as a standalone device. The Wi-Fi shield needs connection to the internet from a wireless router or wireless hotspot and this would act as the gateway for the Arduino to communicate with the internet. With this in mind, an internet based home automation system for remote control of home appliances is designed.

Speed control of a machine is the most vital and important part in any industrial organization. This paper is designed to develop a four quadrant speed control system for a DC motor using microcontroller. The motor is operated in four quadrants i.e. clockwise, counter clock-wise, forward brake and reverse brake. It also has a feature of speed control. The four quadrant operation of the dc motor is best suited for industries where motors are used and as per requirement they can rotate in clockwise, counter-clockwise and also apply brakes immediately in both the directions. In case of a specific operation in industrial environment, the motor needs to be stopped immediately. In such scenario, this proposed system is very apt as forward brake and reverse brake are its integral features. Instantaneous brake in both the directions happens as a result of applying a reverse voltage across the running motor for a brief period and the speed control of the motor can be achieved with the PWM pulses generated by the microcontroller. The microcontroller used in this project is from 8051 family. Push buttons are provided for the operation of the motor which are interfaced to the microcontroller that provides an input signal to it and controls the speed of the motor through a motor driver IC. The speed and direction of DC motor has been observed on digital CRO. Microcontroller programming has been written in assembly language by using notepad and it has been converted in hex file by using micro vision Kiel. The burning of programming in the 8051 microcontroller chip has been done by using positron boot loader software.

Speed Control of Brushless Dc Motor Using Fuzzy Logic Controlleriosrjce
This paper presents a control scheme of a fuzzy logic for the brushless direct current (BLDC)
permanent magnet motor drives. The mathematical model of BLDC motor and fuzzy logic algorithm is derived.
The controller is designed to tracks variations of speed references and stabilizes the output speed during load
variations. The BLDC has some advantages compare to the others type of motors, however the nonlinearity of
the BLDC motor drive characteristics, because it is difficult to handle by using conventional proportionalintegral
(PI) controller. The BLDC motor is fed from the inverter where the rotor position and current
controller is the input. In order to overcome this main problem, the fuzzy logic control is learned continuously
and gradually becomes the main effective control. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by
develop simulation model in MATLAB-Simulink program. The simulation results show that the proposed fuzzy
logic controller (FLC) produce significant improvement control performance compare to the PI controller for
both condition controlling speed reference variations and load disturbance variations. Fuzzy logic is introduced
in order to suppressing the chattering and enhancing the robustness of the controlled system. Fuzzy boundary
layer is developed to provide smother transition to the equivalent control. Smaller overshoot in the speed
response and much better disturbance rejecting capabilities.
The main objective of this project is controlling speed of BLDC motors with the help of microcontroller. To make the industry automation the equipment and machineries should be controlled automatically. So control of the machineries which involving this motor can be done accurately. It displays its speed using an IR method of speed sensor mechanism.

ABSTRACT
The project is designed to develop a four-quadrant control system for a DC motor being fed from AC

The four-quadrant operation of a DC motor is best suited for industries wherein motorsare needed to be
stopped immediately as the time arises; and, this proposed system is very appropriate as forward brake
and reverse brake are its integral features.
Instantaneous brake in both the directions happens as a result of applying a reverse voltage across the
running motor for a brief period. A 555 timer used in the project develops required pulses. Push buttons
are provided for the operation of motor which are interfaced to the circuit that provides an input signal
to it and, in turn, controlsthe motor through a driver IC. Optionally, the speed control feature can be
achieved (but not provided in this project) by push-button operation.
This project can be enhanced by using higher power electronic devices to operate high capacity DC
motors. Regenerative braking for optimizing the power consumption can also be incorporated.
