3. INTRODUCTION
Project is a re-construction with a provision of
community hall within the VDC building. The earlier
VDC building has been severely damaged & become
inhabitable during the devastating Earthquake of April
25, 2015 [Baisakh 12, 2072]. The Site was visited by
the Engineer of this Consulting Company along with
the Team of officials from Asal Chhimekee, Nepal on
January 14-15, 2016. Preliminary survey of the plot
was conducted with respect to the ground condition,
sub soil structure, nearby fault zones and other
geographic features.
4. OBJECTIVES
• To design the earthquake resistant buildings
based on the load bearing structures.
• To prepared the BOQ ,details estimate with
materials schedule based on final design and
drawings.
• To prepare and apply the specification for
constructions works as per the designed.
5. Description of the Building
General Features:
• Name of the Building : Shreenathkot VDC Building
with Community hall & Lavatory
Block.

29. SUMMARY
• The designed building is single storied load bearing structure.
It is designed taken in to consideration of above referred
Nepal national Building Codes with respect to its shape, size,
materials and workmanship. The building is designed as
seismic resistant if constructed with due quality assurance of
materials and workmanship.
• The main building is a VDC office building where the easy
movement for the flow of people, proper ventilation, good
ambience etc are considered, whereas in the Community hall ,
apart from capacity of hall to accommodate @ 100 people, a
good sound insulation acoustic material for the walls & false
ceiling are proposed.
• The building is designed to achieve economical and utility
parameters with seismic resistant features.
