Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body. It originated in China over 2000 years ago and has since spread throughout East Asia and other parts of the world. The theory behind acupuncture is that it works by stimulating the body's meridian lines and energy flow. Needles are inserted into acupuncture points to relieve pain and treat various disorders by altering patterns in a person's energy system. Acupuncture can help treat conditions like neck pain, headaches, arthritis, infertility, and stress-related issues.
Reflexology is an ancient healing practice based on the principle that applying pressure to certain points on the feet, hands and ears can provide benefits to corresponding parts of the body. It is thought to work by stimulating nerve endings that can affect other areas through energy pathways or by releasing chemicals like endorphins. A typical reflexology session involves assessing the feet and then applying firm pressure to different points while the client relaxes. Common uses of reflexology include reducing stress, improving circulation, relieving pain and promoting overall wellness and healing in the body. While reflexology is popular as a complementary therapy, more scientific evidence is still needed to support some of its bolder health claims.
Arthritis affects more than 50 million Americans today, and one out of two people will statistically be diagnosed with arthritis at some point. Although dozens of different types of arthritis exist, the primary two forms which affect the greatest number of people are Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Let’s take a look at what each of these arthritic diseases entails and the possible massage treatments for each.
Myofascial release is a manual therapy technique that aims to relax and elongate the fascia through slow, sustained pressure. Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds and connects muscles, bones, and organs. Injuries, immobilization, and aging can cause fascial adhesions or restrictions that impair movement. Myofascial release techniques like crosshand strokes, skin rolling, and deep tissue stroking apply moderate pressure to "creep" or elongate the fascia and increase range of motion. It can help remove waste from injuries and is often used with other treatments like exercise. Precautions include acute injuries or conditions affecting the skin, blood vessels, or nerves.
Reflexology is an alternative therapy involving applying pressure to different points on the feet, hands and ears. The key idea is that these reflex points correspond to and can provide benefits to different parts of the body. It is based on the theory that applying pressure to these reflex points can unblock energy pathways and help relieve stress, pain and other issues. The document provides an overview of reflexology and its techniques, including foot, hand and ear reflexology. It discusses the theory behind mapping the body on the feet, hands and ears and describes techniques for massaging different reflex points to impact various parts of the body.
This document provides tips for giving a neck massage, including positioning the recipient on their back on the floor with their head in the masseuse's lap. It recommends using oil and having the recipient remove their shirt. It identifies areas to avoid pressure on, such as the throat and neck bones, and provides instructions for different massage techniques to use on the neck, shoulders, head and temples.
Massage originated from the Greek words meaning "to knead" and has been practiced for medicinal purposes in ancient China, India, Greece and Rome. Hipocrates in the 5th century BC recognized massage as an important medical treatment. In the 19th century, Swedish doctor Peter Ling further developed massage techniques. Modern science has demonstrated that massage has both local and systemic effects on the body through stimulation of circulation and the nervous system. There are various types of massage including medical, hygienic, and sports massage as well as techniques like Swedish, shiatsu, and aromatherapy massage. Massage has wide-ranging therapeutic applications for conditions like muscle strains, arthritis, stress, and chronic pain.

The document summarizes various physiological effects of manipulative therapy and massage therapy based on existing research studies:
1) Massage therapy can reduce pain by activating the pain gate mechanism in the brain and stimulating pressure receptors to transmit messages faster than pain receptors. It can also increase serotonin levels and decrease cortisol to reduce pain and depression.
2) Research studies show that massage therapy can significantly reduce pain, anxiety, and tension in cardiac patients. It can also decrease pain and anxiety during labor while increasing satisfaction.
3) Additional benefits of massage therapy include improved sleep quality, reduced heart rate through increased vagal activity, enhanced blood flow through vasodilation, reduced blood viscosity, and increased weight gain and food absorption in
The document provides information about reflexology, including:
- Reflexology involves applying pressure to the feet, hands and ears using foot charts to guide specific pressure points. Practitioners include chiropractors and massage therapists.
- Benefits of reflexology include improved nerve function, increased energy, better circulation, relaxation, toxin removal, and stimulation of the nervous system which can help with headaches and migraines.
- Reflexologists claim it can treat conditions like asthma and cancer, but scientific evidence is lacking. Reflexology is generally safe but vigorous pressure could cause discomfort.
Myofascial pain syndrome is a chronic condition that causes pain and inflammation in the body's soft tissues. It accounts for around 85% of most people's pain and is caused by tightening of the fascial system due to repetitive movements or injury. Myofascial trigger points are hypersensitive areas within muscles that can cause pain or referred pain elsewhere. Self-myofascial release using foam rollers helps to break up adhesions in the fascia and elongate and soften connective tissues, providing pain relief and improved flexibility and movement. Specific foam rolling techniques are demonstrated to target key muscle groups like the hips, quads, hamstrings, and low back.

This is my current baby. I have always been interested in personal health, and I am currently working on becoming NASM CPT certified (I've passed practice tests, I just need to set aside a few weeks to actually take the real thing). TrP are a topic of health that has always been an interest of mine, and when training people, or looking after my own health, I would like to incorporate clinical Myofascial dysfunction treatment in my and others workouts. I decided to go straight to the golden source, and I have slowly but surely been going over the Travell Trigger Point Manual over the previous few months, painstakingly notating all information I consider to be important. I plan on finishing this project in particular by mid-2018, and hope that I can help others identify any myofascial pain and stay healthy in their own personal lives :)

Prediction of Electrical Energy Efficiency Using Information on Consumer's Ac...PriyankaKilaniya
Energy efficiency has been important since the latter part of the last century. The main object of this survey is to determine the energy efficiency knowledge among consumers. Two separate districts in Bangladesh are selected to conduct the survey on households and showrooms about the energy and seller also. The survey uses the data to find some regression equations from which it is easy to predict energy efficiency knowledge. The data is analyzed and calculated based on five important criteria. The initial target was to find some factors that help predict a person's energy efficiency knowledge. From the survey, it is found that the energy efficiency awareness among the people of our country is very low. Relationships between household energy use behaviors are estimated using a unique dataset of about 40 households and 20 showrooms in Bangladesh's Chapainawabganj and Bagerhat districts. Knowledge of energy consumption and energy efficiency technology options is found to be associated with household use of energy conservation practices. Household characteristics also influence household energy use behavior. Younger household cohorts are more likely to adopt energy-efficient technologies and energy conservation practices and place primary importance on energy saving for environmental reasons. Education also influences attitudes toward energy conservation in Bangladesh. Low-education households indicate they primarily save electricity for the environment while high-education households indicate they are motivated by environmental concerns.

Height and depth gauge linear metrology.pdfq30122000
Height gauges may also be used to measure the height of an object by using the underside of the scriber as the datum. The datum may be permanently fixed or the height gauge may have provision to adjust the scale, this is done by sliding the scale vertically along the body of the height gauge by turning a fine feed screw at the top of the gauge; then with the scriber set to the same level as the base, the scale can be matched to it. This adjustment allows different scribers or probes to be used, as well as adjusting for any errors in a damaged or resharpened probe.

SQLite database. This application will provide most of basic functionality required for an
emergency time application. All the details of Blood banks and Blood donors are stored
in the database i.e. SQLite.
This application allowed the user to get all the information regarding blood banks and
blood donors such as Name, Number, Address, Blood Group, rather than searching it on
the different websites and wasting the precious time. This application is effective and
user friendly.
Home security is of paramount importance in today's world, where we rely more on technology, home
security is crucial. Using technology to make homes safer and easier to control from anywhere is
important. Home security is important for the occupant’s safety. In this paper, we came up with a low cost,
AI based model home security system. The system has a user-friendly interface, allowing users to start
model training and face detection with simple keyboard commands. Our goal is to introduce an innovative
home security system using facial recognition technology. Unlike traditional systems, this system trains
and saves images of friends and family members. The system scans this folder to recognize familiar faces
and provides real-time monitoring. If an unfamiliar face is detected, it promptly sends an email alert,
ensuring a proactive response to potential security threats.
