Anchored from the Surigao
del Norte Division’s
advocacy on Continuous
Improvement, Surigao del
Norte National High School
CI Team ventured on
addressing the academic
challenge of the learners.
This crafted Reading Remediation and Enrichment
Activities for development. The Reading Program aims
to decrease the number of struggling readers of the
school to the school’s quality of education.
Narrative Report
After 2 years of Covid 19 pandemic, the
students achievement especially their reading
literacy had stagnated. Because of this, the CI
Team together with the language teachers
were mandated to adjust the reading
implementation process from new normal to
face to face setting.
•Administer screening test to all
Grade 7 students during the enrollment.
•Identify students who will undergo the oral
reading test based on the results of screening
test.
•Call the attention of the parents identified for
the Remedial Reading Program to orient and
require them to encourage their child to read at
home
•Adopt the Peer Tutoring as reading
intervention
•Conduct a seminar and give different
strategies on remedial reading to the tutors
•Evaluate the student’s reading level through
post-test.
•Post-tests result were validated by the School
Administrators and Reading Teachers.
•Conduct a culminating program
