The Accelerate project is a 3-year ITEA2 project running from 2013-2016 with 18 partners from 5 countries. The goal is to create an acceleration platform and services to help technology companies get innovations to market faster based on the needs of the European ICT industry. The platform will act as a marketplace for acceleration services and products, and a place to share information about acceleration. In total the effort involves 99 person-years and a budget of 11.4 million Euros.

5. • Acceleration is challenge for most technology companies in Europe
– Established ICT companies with internal incubation programs or with
incubation needs
– Non ICT companies that wish to extend their offering with ICT enabled
solutions.
– In 2010, there were 815 000 high-tech companies in the domain of
knowledge-intensive services in Europe *; of this considerable amount
are SMEs
– Business incubators & accelerators
• So far in 17 European countries we managed to identify >1233
accelerators/ incubators ! via these we will reach technology
companies
