About me career plannings

2. • Life Style Choices-After taking a quiz I showed that my top 5 satisfactions I
like in a job are recognition, physical challenge, excitement, stability, and
adventure. My top 3 career clusters are Finance, Law/Public safety, and
business. My dream career is to be in law enforcement after serving in the
military.
• Learning Styles- There are three types of learning styles.
1. Visual- If you are a visual learner you learn best by seeing what is being
taught to you
2. Auditory- If you are a auditory learner then you learn best by hearing and
absorbing the information being taught to you
3. Kinesthetic/Tactile- If you are a tactile learner the you learn best buy
working hands on and in the field.
• For me I did not score high in one particular area of learning. All three score
were very close together but visual learning was my highest score

1. Stability- I want a job that I know I’m going to be safe financially and have
a long lasting future to where I can plan my life.
2. Recognition- recognition is important to me because I want a feeling of
accomplishment and want others to recognize me for my contributions.
• Unique Qualities
1. Investigative- I Believe I’m very investigative because I like to figure things
out in everyday life that most people don’t think about.
2. Logical- I believe that when it comes to decisions I make the most
informed and reasonable one.
4. After taking a Holland Code test I scored in the field of
Investigative, realistic, and enterprising
• Investigative- People who like to
observe, learn, investigate, analyze, evaluate or solve problems.
• Realistic- People who have athletic or mechanical ability, prefer to
work with objects, machines, tools, plants or animals, or to be
outdoors.
• Enterprising- People who like to work with
people, influencing, persuading, performing, leading or managing for
organizational goals or economic gain.
After taking a personalized Birkman Personality test it test in learning
styles and interests. In this test I scored red in both learning style and
interests.
• Red interests-You like practical, technical, objective, and hands-
on, problem-solving types of job responsibilities and professions.
• Red Learning Style- You prefer to perform your job responsibilities in a
manner that is action-oriented and practical. You prefer to work where
things happen quickly and results are seen immediately.
5. • An FBI agent does the same jobs as a police officer, such as
investigating kidnappers, serial killers, and bank robbers, etc. the job
is very physically and mentally hard. The job can also be stressful on
personal relationships because you may have to be away from home
for an extended period of time. In this field you need to have a
college degree.
• Personally I find this job to be a good match for me. The job has
good stability because it’s a government job. The job is a vey
investigative one which I find myself to be good at. I like a challenge
in life and this job gives one in a mental and physical way. Also
because of the type of work this is in I do not see this job getting
boring because the job moves very fast paced. Even though there
may be negatives that go along with the job I feel like the pro’s would
outweigh them.
6. • In the Marines you must pass many to test to become a Marine such as
many physical and mental test and boot camp. After earning the title of a
Marine you are trained in your specific MOS and then are stationed were
they need you. After all of the training day to day depending on your
job, you train, PT, learn, and do what you are told to do. The military is
very structured and demanding. Depending on your MOS you may be
deployed to a warzone.
• I think this job would be great for me. The recognition, which to me is a
big part of my work values is unmatched by any other job as a civilian.
Many of the skills that they teach you is not so much in the class room
but in the field were you are actually doing it which I learn good from.
The structured life style and stability offered by the military matches my
personality for a job. The fast paced life style and training in my opinion
would be what keeps this job from not getting boring and a good match
for me.
7. • A police detective conducts investigations to solve crimes. A part of their job
is to examine crime scenes and obtain evidence. At the crime scene they try
to figure out what happened during the crime. Also apart of the job is to
evaluate possible suspects, interrogate suspects, and arrest the suspect.
• I find this line of work vey interesting. As shown in my unique values I am
very investigative which is a good skill to have for the job. Law enforcement
provides a structured life style which is apart of my work values and also job
security. I know that this job has some paper work to do but you are not
sitting at a desk the whole day which is a good thing because the job would
not get so repetitive.
8. • As a Firefighter you have many jobs to do. Some of those jobs will be
rescue victims trapped in houses and trapped by fires, have the skills and
abilities to put out fires and investigate how the fire happened. Also you
need to know how to operate and maintain equipment. This job is very
physically and mentally demanding because of the stressful environment
that you are put into. You need to be a logical thinker have a fast reaction
time. More then half of firefighter have some or no college education and
job look to be coming up.
• I think this job would be a hard but a rewording one. As a firefighter you have
physical challenges to deal with which is a part that I like because I like
challenges. As shown in my about me I like recognition and in this line of work
since you are saving and helping people, people thank you. The fast paced
lifestyle of the job because of an always need of readiness which I don’t think
would get boring and always being able to help people and the community.
9. • Personal Financial Advisors recommend to clients stragaties in cash
management, insurance coverage, investments planning, and other areas to
help them achieve their financial goals. The relationship between them and
the client is very personal because they share very personal financial
information. In this field you need a degree in finance and the job outlook of
this career is high.
• I think this job would be good for me but it has some cons to it. I like to help
people succeed and achieve their goals which you do in this job. The job
may not have a lot of recognition except for promotions into leadership
positions. The downside to this job would working in an office and sitting at a
desk all day which could get boring.
10. • A financial Analysts has different task they have to preform. For example
having to evaluate and compare the quality of various security in a given
industry. Also they have to present oral or written reports on general
economic trends, individual corporations, and entire industries and monitor
developing fields in a given industry. The job has situations present where
you need to come up solutions which requires you to think logical. Future
careers look to be on the uprising and most of the workers have a bachelor’s
degree.
• As a financial analysts you work in an office and sit at a desk all day. To me I
could find this to be boring. The areas that I do like in this job are the fast
paced and logical thinking which is a skill shown in my about me is a good
quality about me. This job have advancement for promotions in leadership
fields which could bring recgonition.
11. 1. Marine Corps- Enlisted- I find this job to be very appealing because
of the recognition and pride that comes with the job. To serve my
country has always been a dream of mine. The fast paced intense
life style is one that I want to experience and this is one of the few

able to give back and help my community in the ay of fighting crime
