3. Q 2 : Why do you want to do this job ? 1. Extend your answers of previous question and relate your achievements / strengths / interests / aptitude to the present job requirements 2. undertake your brief SWOT analysis and relate your capabilities to the present position. 3. relate the present job to your career goal and your career anchors.

Q 3: How much salary do you want? 1. dont speak out – first try to get it from the company – know about the hr policy of the company - avoid talking about this issue in the first round of interview 2. If you are pressed to speak out your requirements – spell out your requirements 3. Learn the art of negotiations – it is necessary to have a good idea about the leverage / decision making freedoms of other party
5. Q 4 : Can you work anywhere? Say yes – if you dont have any preferences – if you have any preferences – mention them with reasons it is better to be flexible about these issues and remember that you should not be a constraint for the company – you may be transferable as per company's requirements.
6. Q 5: when will you join? Be practical before you commit. Know about HR terms and conditions, pay package, working conditions etc. before you commit. Take up enough time for joining date – so that you are fully prepared when you join dont ask for leave just after leaving. You have to ensure that when you join, you are able to put in your best and create a good first impression.
7. Q 6: what was your experience with your previous boss ? Dont criticise your previous boss. Dont share the modes operandi / secrets of your previous employer
8. Q 7 : what are your achievements / strong areas? We all have some achievements – share them modestly (without Ego) and do remember to give credit to your colleagues / friends / relatives / employer – due to whom you were able to achieve your successes
9. Q 8 : do you want to know about our company? Avoid asking questions about the company in the interview room. Try to collect information about the company after the interview is over – informally. If you have some specific queries – then ask for that – but be very polite in asking.
10. Some useful tips ... Study the website / news clippings / reports of the employer before you go for interview talk to those who know about this company very well before you proceed for interview, so that you know about the company very well. Fill yourself with positive attitude and positive thinking. Take all your biodata, credentials, photographs with enough photocopies (if required, you may deliver them)

Study the job description carefully and understand the requirements of the company very carefully. You should be able to meaningfully contribute to the company. Think about long term career.

Avoid jobs – that are painful Avoid jobs that are going to be painful to you - believe in your capability – you can earn your requirements – there is no need to work in a place which is unethical / painful / unfriendly and where you have to listen to unreasonable comments every day. We dont get life again and again - so work where you can achieve your dreams. Dont do job – be intrapreneur.
14. Join a learning organisation – dont look at money Join a truly learning organisation – where you can learn everyday- where you can grow every day – where really good people work – so that you can groom yourself everyday – where you are challenged every day and put to quality standards – where you can find fairness, collaboration and mutual sharing – this will compensate for money (which will follow you later)
15. References ..... Avoid giving caste based references – give merit based references and join only those organisations, which value merit and where merit is rewarded. Take permission before giving references.
