24. Government of India set a target fort
electrification in all villages within the year 2022.
Due to the limitation in power generation from
conventional sources, government has moved
towards renewable energy sources for fulfilling
the demand of consumers. In recent times, uses

26.  Solar Rooftop Off Grid Plant
 Off-grid solar energy systems convert sunlight into electricity
without connecting to local utility grids.
 The main components of off-grid systems include Solar panels,
Power Conditioning Units-Inverters, Mounting Structures, Batteries,
Cables etc.
 Operation-The electrical energy generated from the array of
panels is transmitted to the consumer load or battery bank storage
through a Power Conditioning Unit or smart inverter.
 The inverter is a seamless connection between solar array,

28.  CAPEX MODEL: In this model, the entire investment comes from the power consumer, consumer
generally hire a solar EPC company who provide turnkey installation of entire solar power system
and hand over assets to consumers. EPC also do annual operation and maintained (O&M) of plant
on mutually agreed cost per annum.
 OPEX MODEL: In the OPEX model, an investor or project developer (sometimes called Renewable
Energy Service Company –RESCO) invests the CAPEX and consumer pays for the energy
consumed/supplied by the solar power project delicately developed for a particular consumer. Both
consumer and developer sign a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for an agreed tenure &
tariff.
 Aavishkar Solar facilitate installation of solar PV-systems on the roofs of Houses, Bungalows &
Societies, IT/ Business Parks & Office Complexes, Mall /Shopping Complexes, Go downs/Cold
Storages, and Health Centers/ Hospitals on EPC mode (CAPEX) or Investment mode (OPEX)
depending on the willingness of owner of the premises. In CAPEX Model all investment will be done
by consumers while in OPEX Model investment will be made by third party and consumers will have
to sign a Power purchase Agreement (PPA) with actual investor at mutually agreed tariff and tenure.

29.  What is Open Access ?- As per Electricity Act 2003 Open Access is, “Non-discriminatory provision for
the use of transmission lines or distribution system or associated facilities with such lines or system by
any licensee or consumer or a person engaged in generation in accordance with the regulations
specified by the Appropriate Commission”.
 Open access allows large users of power (Typically having connected load of 1 megawatt and above)
to buy cheaper power from the open market.
 The idea is that the customers should be able to choose among a large number of competing power
companies, instead of being forced to buy electricity from their existing electric utility.
 It helps large consumers particularly the sick textile, cement and steel industrial units by ensuring
regular supply of electricity at competitive rates and boost business of power bourses.
