4. INTRODUCTION
Marathon is one of leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of
Industrial, Solar and Automotive application batteries in India. MBPL also
manufactures, markets and distributes power backup related products
such as traction batteries , stationary application 2V batteries , industrial
chargers, power equipment and battery accessories. In addition, MBPL
provides related after-market and customer-support services for batteries
manufactured and distributed by it. MBPL products sell nationally and
internationally to over 500 customers in more than 20 States and 6
countries.

8. HISTORY
With a modest beginning in 2009, Marathon Batteries has become one of
the fastest growing Battery Company in India with key share of business
provided through Brand Manufacturing. Created with an aim to serve
generations of Power Back- up requirements, MARATHON has become
synonymous in Industry with 'Quality' and 'Value' in Lead Acid
Batteries.
Since inception & till this 5th Year in Industry, Highlights of Marathon's
Journey:
2009: Established in Jaipur, the Pink City of India and a developing
Hub for catering to Automotive and Inverter Batteries under the brand
name of 'Marathon'. 'Marathon' itself means a long saga & in our case a
Long Life of Power Back-up.
2010: So as to maintain is uniqueness, acquired the ownership of Trade
Mark 'MARATHON' and 'AUTOZONE'

9. HISTORY
2011: To meet increasing demand, Works at Bindayaka Industrial Area,
Jaipur was set up with an average manufacturing capacity of 135000 AH
Batteries per Day.
2012: 2nd Works established for manufacturing an entire range of 'Solar
Batteries‘
2013: Production capacity increased from 135000 AH per Day to 225000
AH Per Day.
2014: Launched Super - G , the innovative Tubular Gel Monobloc
Battery for solar application ,which has placed ourselves among only few
companies in Indian industry with this technology.

MAXXIMA
MARATHON Solar Flooded Monobloc Batteries are designed to offer reliable, low-
maintenance power for renewable energy applications where frequent deep cycles are
required and minimum maintenance is desirable. Marathon Solar batteries are
manufactured in accordance with IS 13396 and IS 1651 standards.
Electric Power - Everywhere, at all times and independent of mains supply - such are
the demands of our modern society. Energy provision with photovoltaic's is thus
becoming ever more important. Solar cells directly transform light into electric power.
The energy gained is stored in Marathon’s Solar Batteries viz Maxxima and Super -G
brands. It is then available at night and in bad weather conditions. There is a wide
spectrum of applications for this future orientated and environmentally safe
technology.
Maxxima Batteries are permanently charged and discharged in all applications. These
cyclical demands require batteries with special characteristics, which are fulfilled in all
respects by the Maxxima solar batteries.
They are characterized by high cycle stability, long life, minimum maintenance
requirements, very low self-discharge and they are easy to service and mount and
have a short charging time.

19. GEL VRLA
BATTERIS – SUPER G
Tubular Gel batteries are designed especially for maintenance free
performance requirements in the Solar , Leisure and Consumer
fields. This product advantages of maintenance-free and sealed
batteries result from the successful Gel technology.
Typical examples of their application are in weekend and holiday
homes without mains supply, street solar stations, information
signs, wireless emergency phones, and in many other safety system
power supply applications.

21. TUBULAR STATIONARY
BATTERIES - FORCE
MARATHON has been selling tubular lead-selenium vented batteries for nearly 5
years. The combination of the tubular positive plates and the lead selenium/low
antimony alloy provides the best possible combination in lead-acid plate technology.
Marathon batteries are manufactured in accordance with IS 13396 and IS 1651
standards.
By utilizing a small amount of selenium in the grid alloy, a dense fine grain structure
is produced. This alloy is extremely corrosion-resistant and virtually eliminates inter
granular corrosion which is one of the most common causes of cell failure. A lead
selenium cell combines the advantages of both lead calcium and lead antimony cells
while exhibiting none of the disadvantages.
Due to increased positive plate surface area, tubular plates have more electrical
capacity than flat plates of comparable size and weight. With positive plate shedding
eliminated, tubular batteries also provide up to a 30% longer service life than flat
plate batteries. Perhaps most importantly to stationary applications the tubular
positive grid does not require horizontal bars, which virtually eliminates positive
plate growth and therefore post seal leaks and jar cracking. As a result, in
applications which require a long service life, tubular plate batteries provide the best
and most reliable power.

23. THICK PLATE BATTERIES
- INFINITY
The Marathon Infinity thick plate battery is designed to provide battery power for
critical applications. The flooded lead acid battery, with its low level of self-discharge,
makes it ideal for back up power applications in domestic inverter,
telecommunication, utility, and transportation industries. The transparent, impact-
resistant container allows the user to easily observe electrolyte levels, as the batteries
require minimal topping throughout their lifecycle. Positive Electrode is made of Flat
rectangular grid with heavy bus bar available with low antimony and Negative
Electrode is made up with long life expander and available with low antimony.
Other outstanding features of this new product range include robust, highly
translucent and market-proven PP cases, extremely resistant to conventional cleaning
agents and making it easy to check electrolyte levels, and also the MARATHON
compound terminal / system connector. This system virtually eliminates corrosion
and greatly lowers the risk of short-circuits during installation.

BATTERIES - PROTON
PROTON Brand of batteries manufactured by MARATHON for serving
the Indian market to latest national and international quality standards of
ISO 9001 : 2000,The battery meets IEC Standard, JIS Standard, EB
Standard, Earobat Standard, BS Standard and GB Standard. The VRLA
Batteries are manufactured in the our plant using precision global
standard test and measuring equipments to ensure the product quality
and reliability.
These batteries are designed keeping Indian power conditions in mind
like cyclic / float, use by UPS, DC Power applications in industrial as well
as domestic sectors, Solar and Photovoltaic Systems.
AGM technology takes care of general purpose application. AGM-VRLA
battery uses Oxygen Recombination technology. The oxygen produced
from the positive plates is absorbed by negative plates. This suppresses
the generation of hydrogen at negative plates. The recombination of
hydrogen and oxygen leads to formation of water retaining the electrolyte
amount within the battery thus never requires topping up throughout life.
