Krept is an unsigned grime/hip-hop artist from London who is looking to get signed. He promotes his music on Myspace to expand his audience. Krept cultivates a "star persona" through his image, often portrayed as mysterious or suspicious. His target audience is young, urban teenagers who enjoy his style of clothing. To advertise his mixtape, posters will be placed at tube stations and a slot secured on Channel AKA to play music videos during prime time hours. Krept promotes through BBC Radio 1Xtra, releasing his "Tsunami" mixtape, and appearing on music video channels like SB.TV. He will promote the mixtape through posters, newspapers, radio

1. Krept This is the unsigned artist I have chosen called Krept. As you can see above his link to myspace, where he promotes his music to make his target audience wider so in future he will get signed to a major or independent label.
2. Krept’s Star Persona The picture on the right is a perfect example of Krepts’s Star persona as he is sometimes portrayed as an evil minded person. The background is red which could also denotes that he is not someone to mess about with.. His clothing (Hoody) could suggest that he is a very secretive and mysterious person. On Krept & Konan’s mixtape cover, Krept is wearing sunglasses, sunglasses are usually worn in to protect their eyes or to look cool. But in krepts case, he wears sunglasses to hide his identity. So on the whole Krept is portrayed as a suspicious and mysterious person.
3. Target audience Their target audience is targeted at young teenagers that lives in a urban area, his music genre is grime/hip hop which could make his audience a niche audience. The young male teenagers like his clothing such as Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Armani and True Religion. Mainly the target Audience young adults and older, gender mainly male because of the genre, ethnicity can be a primary audience and Krept’s hobby is making loads of money and to be a famous artist.
4. Marketing Campaign - Advertising There are many ideal ways to advertise Krept, but one of the ways we are going to advertise him is by TV. We are going to Apply for a slot on Channel AKA, (Sky 370) to advertise his mix tapes during the adverts from 5 – 6pm and 8 - 9pm. If we’re lucky, we may get a chance to post a couple music videos. Another way we are going to advertise Krept’s potential is place posters outside places where people generally go to like outside tube stations for instance.
5. Publicity Krept promotes his music by rapping for BBC Radio 1xtra and also advertising his mix tape called “Tsunami” which was released October 4th. Using Publicity to release his mix tape shows that he wants to get signed to a major or independent label. Krept could make sales to make his mix tape sell faster and to make a wider target audience mainly young black 16+. He has also been on music videos such as SB.TV and Grime daily.
6. Promotion Krept promotes himself in a music video Presenting his mix tape “play dirty tsunami” this connotes that he is communicating to the public to influence them to purchase the mix tape. The advantages of promotion is that you have many ways to promote your mix tape, Krept could promote his music by asking permission to an independent label to and to work with other Grime/Hip-hop artists to make a global or niche audience.

8. Posted in the South London press newspaper as it is where he is located, and where the majority of his target audience are.
9. Channel AKA from around 5-6pm & 8-9pm as some of his video’s are unacceptable from people underage
10. On Choice Fm his music is where is music will be played as the majority of his target audience are located.
11. His mix tape will be promoted on twitter, Facebook and Myspace as they are popular social networking websites.
