The Ningbo Museum in China was designed by architect Wang Shu to honor local vernacular architecture traditions. It incorporates sustainable materials and spatial planning strategies from traditional Chinese architecture, such as thin tile walls that keep the building naturally cool. The museum was built using local artisans in a way that preserves traditional construction methods. It combines these traditions with modern industry to allow the urban vernacular style to evolve while maintaining cultural roots.

Contemporary architecture means present day diverse, influencial and innovative design.
It is not a synonym of modern architecture but applies to a range of styles built recently for current use.
The design is always spacious ,connecting indoors and outdoors.
It includes reusing of old materials or structures or use of natural materials.
Contemporary means of current time , always evolving or changing.
So it can be said that contemporary architecture started when the very first designs were made.
First introduced in late 20th century and common in 21st century.

Architecture is the art of spaces. The human feelings were influenced by architectural
space from time to time. Relating to the design of a history museum, it could evoke a
certain feeling or memory of a historical event. This dissertation focuses on the
influence of architectural space over period of times.
A theoretical as well as practical key issue in the design of museum and galleries is how
the layout of space interacts with displays to create a specific effect, express the intended
message to visitors. This dissertation aims to capture and represent the history of
mankind’s understanding of space in the design of an architectural building.

Integration of the Vernacular Passive Cooling Systems with Contemporary Archi...paperpublications3
Abstract: Vernacular architecture has always served the people of a certain climatic condition with the required answers to their immediate environmental problems. The architecture without architects has been a major focus of late as architects tend to reflect back to how their ancestors tackled the problem of the environment when it came to buildings and design. Human need, cultural identity as well as the surrounding context has been a pivotal focus for vernacular architecture. The Middle East as a region is a land with diverse cultures that have been united by the climatic conditions of their land which is hot and dry for the most part of it. To tackle the heat and the direct harsh sun of the Middle east, certain techniques and elements were devised to combat them. Such devices like the Mashrabiyas, Wind Catchers and Courtyards were used, among others. The 21st Century urbanization and rapid universality of contemporary architecture combined with the oil and gas industry wealth of the Middle East has made this region join the in the mad rush to compete in the frontlines of rapid urbanization and somehow neglect their vernacular architecture and cultural identities in place of the more lucrative contemporary architecture. This study focuses on finding a common ground for vernacular architecture and the 21st-century contemporary architecture without compromising each other. The study will look at Mashrabiyas and Windcatchers, elements of the Middle Eastern vernacular architecture and a case study which is a pioneer in the use of vernacular elements in the 21st-century contemporary architecture. The study seeks to find better options when designing a building in the Middle East with consideration of the vernacular aspect of the region achieved by literature reviews of journals, articles, and theses.

Museums are nowadays among the most popular projects for the public, the concept of thermal comfort in museums is often treated after the realization. Even if in the design, the architect shows a particular intention to work with daylight which is considered for these projects as main, the architect often considers certain elements that have an influence on the energy balance of these projects such as: orientation, building materials. The museum route is the key to the success of any museum project, it is the space of the visitor, the space in which he is invaded by sensations. In this study, we will first evaluate the thermal comfort in the museum as a whole (building) and then through its route. The objective is to guide reflection in the design of the museum towards the route in order to reduce energy consumption. In order to carry out our study, some European museums were analysed by means of simulation, according to the thermal comfort of their designs for the most unfavourable conditions, then by a thermal analysis of the museum route according to the segmentation principle using the average radiant temperature. This method allowed us to bring out correspondences between the architectural form and the route. Finally, the segmentation method constitutes the basis of a new methodological approach called "thermal topology" based on the discontinuities of the temperatures in the route.

The Chinese have lived in single-extended-family courtyard houses in many parts of China for thousands of years. The earliest courtyard house found in China was during the Middle Neolithic period (5000-3000 BCE). The courtyard form signifies Chinese quest for harmony with nature and in social relationships. However, the 20th century was a significant turning point in the evolution of Chinese courtyard houses; this paper provides an overview of this transition. It starts by briefly introducing traditional Chinese courtyard houses and their decline since 1949, it then examines the emergence of new courtyard housing in Beijing and Suzhou since the 1990s, and then it evaluates the new development of Chinese-style courtyard garden villas in/around these two cities since the 2000s, such as Beijing Guantang and Suzhou Fuyuan villa estates. They are explorations of a new way to honor Chinese architectural history and philosophy, meanwhile, incorporating Western interior design principles to meet modern living requirements. This architectural acculturation represents Chinese sustained quest for harmony in their art of living. The paper finally proposes four designs of new courtyard garden houses for future practice.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.

11. Conclusion:
The museum built by local artisans and craftsmen is
a way of honouring and preserving vernacular
construction methods. In the meanwhile, it became a
commentary on the Chinese cities’ erasure of the
past in the name of progress. Nonetheless, by
combining the tradition with modern industry, it
enables the urban vernacular to grow and yet, still
keep the area's traditions in innovative ways.
