Emotional DevelopmentThe child begins to establish relationships to other adults and to children with whom the child interacts with frequently.The  child shows a sense of self, for example, by saying “no!”The child starts recognizing feelings when emotions are communicated by an adult.The child continues to find the regulation of emotions difficult.
Social DevelopmentThe child plays alongside other children,  but is still shy about too much interaction with them.Depending on exposure to other children, the child may have a favorite few.The child shows an awareness to others’ feelings.The child looks up to the adults for comfort at the time of conflict.
